Near Archmosian Castle in Rynvale

(Continued from an RP not currently on the wiki)

Rayne ingests the first potion dropping the second to be able to drink when she was done with the mission. "Hell hath no fury then a…" she downs the drink hoping to emit a growl, a war cry, or something of the sort. The pain in her body cause the woman to shreek with pain before a cloud of magic erupts leaving a duck in the path…. "…Quack?"

Satoshi wanders onto the flooded street in an altogether haphazard manner. The feline just seems to be travelling about with no direction in mind, and she only stops when the glint of glass catches her eye. A curious little miyew is made before she stoops to pluck the bottle up. "Hrmm~?"

Satoshi picked up 1 polymorph potion.

Satoshi blinks in genuine wonder as the semi-familiar woman suddenly becomes an unfamiliar duck. Quickly, the feline glances between fowl and bottle in hand with brows arched in an almost mischievous way. "... Interesting..." And at that point, the cat does something unheard of for one as cautious as herself... She downs the second potion, standing there blinking for a moment before that poof of magic replaces feline with a sleek brown mongoose. "(Insert mongoose sound here)..."

Satoshi uses tiny paws to adjust the oversized goggles on her head, the damnable item sticking around for unexplained reasons.

Rayne blinks as she looks at the mongoose.. Waddling over she "Quacks" for a moment tilting her head to the side

Satoshi twitches her nose at Rayne, tail flicking frantically. [Yes~?]

Rayne said to Satoshi, "You drank my last potion. I was going to use that when I got back! Quack!"

Satoshi idly scratches behind an ear as she eyes the duck. [The stuff wears off eventually. I think..]

Satoshi said to Rayne, "[And back from where...?]"

Rayne said to Satoshi, "[Kazuma, he's been kidnapped and I'm going to go get him out of there... you're coming too]"

Satoshi heaves a little mongoose sigh before suddenly darting further along the street. [Well, I've nothing better to do, et I'm feeling reckless... Let's go find that fire-juggling fellow, shall we, Quackers?] And all through speaking, the cat-turned-mongoose does not remain in one place, her fidgetting and scurrying enough to make a jumping bean look sedate.

Rayne waddles over to satoshi-mongose and glares [ We need to get there fast, I've lost my speed I'm going to have to jump on you so we can get there faster!]

Satoshi pauses long enough to eye the duck incredulously. [But... you're as big as me! Et you have wings, you can fly there, bird-brain!] Giving a little chitter of laughter, she darts away from the duck once more.

Rayne said to Satoshi, "[Good point... Are you ready?]"

Satoshi said to Rayne, "[... Do I look like I'm waiting...?]"

Rayne extends her wings out to the side and moves them back and fourth.... the only thing this accomplishes is kicking up dust.

Satoshi puts the goggles to use to keep the dust from her eyes but she can't help sneezing a few times.

Rayne said to Satoshi, "[How do you fly?]"

Satoshi said to Rayne, "[....Erm.... Try getting a running start? If that fails... well, we're at least moving quickly to wherever we're going...]"

Rayne gets a running start flapping her wings violently until she's air born.

Rayne exits north.

Satoshi chases after the flying Rayne in zigzagging mongoose fashion.

Rayne the duck flies over head casting a shadow down below.

Satoshi drops her goggles somewhere along the way. Oh well, she can find them later...

Rayne appears from the south.

Rayne said, "[ I forgot to flap]"

Satoshi skids to a stop from her mad dashing--she honestly feels like a cat after too much caffiene, rather than an entirely different animal. Shaking herself off, she trots back to the assassin-duck. [...What's your plan for getting inside...? Are there any plans at all...?]

Rayne had a plan... as a cooler animal.. but not as a duck. [ I distract the guards.. you go to the cell and get him out!]

Satoshi pauses from her near-constant movement to give Rayne a blank stare. [That... es not a plan...] She glances toward the gates and back to the duck, eyes glinting as an idea strikes her. [I have something better... I suggest you start flying... Now!] With an angry chirp she suddenly lunges at Rayne, claws and fangs feigning strikes as she begins chasing her 'feathery meal' in the direction of the gate. [Don't forget to flap!]

Rayne 's eyes grow wide for a moment as she quacks loudly and begins to fly up ward. Her loud quacks echoing off the walls of the grand castle as she flies in a circle first then flys over the gate.

Rayne shouted, "*Loud quacks can be heard*"

Kazuma shouted, "Who be quacking?"

Satoshi gives chase to the duck, tiny paws to and through the gate long before the guards can make any sense of the angrily chittering tawny blur. Not that one animal chasing another is anything overly alarming to them, moreso something to provide entertainment during long shifts. Which is exactly what the polymorphed feline is hoping for. [I hope you know where he is!] she calls up to Rayne, for all the world looking like a mongoose throwing chirped insults to a duck.

Satoshi shouted, "*angry chitters can be heard, along with the quacks*"

Kazuma shouted, "Be I trapped in a barn?"

Rayne looks down her quacks seemingly angry as well [follow me.]. The ducks face squinches a bit as she drops a load in front of the mongoose. Proving once and for all, a ducks defense isn't worth crap.

Rayne exits up.

Satoshi said to Rayne, "[I should bite you for that!]"

Rayne said to Satoshi, "[ And I should bite you for taking my last potion!]"

Rayne shouted, "-More Quacks can be heard-"

Satoshi begins sniffing around at the edges of the walls, tossing Rayne a reply almost carelessly, [We can get more, if need be. I'm sure the stuff wears off...]

Kazuma shouted, "Stupid ass fermin rat! I was going to give you the most expensive cheese out there!"

Satoshi said to Rayne, "[... Sounds like the pyro...]"

Rayne said to Satoshi, "[ Sounds like him]"

Satoshi carries on with her sniffing about the room, darting up, over, under, and so-on furniture. [He can't be too far, if we heard him from here,] she comments, head poking up from beneath a chair cushion to twitch whiskers at Rayne.

Splag shouted, "Splag laughs and calls, "I has no thought of letting him out, trusting him or killing him. As I told him, he is lucky he is not Fermin prisoner. Fermin cages doesn't have beds in them. Prisoners don't usually make it past dinner.""

Kazuma shouted, "Fermin bastard...."

Splag appears from below.

Rayne flaps around the room only to stop and land on top of the throne.

Splag comes up stairs on all fours. He pauses at the top, a strange scent reaching his nose. He squats down at the top of the stairs, with just the top of his head visible, his red eyes fixed on the duck.

Satoshi pokes her pointed mongoose-nose out from the cushion once more, whiskers quivering before she makes a handful of squeaky sneezes. Courtesy of the dust bunnies sharing the furniture with her. The rat is, so far, unnoticed with her sense of smell obstructed by allergens.

Splag licks his lips and crawls forward a step. Reaching one paw forward, he aims at the duck and launches a bolt of fire at it, trying to catch, kill and cook it all in one swoop.

Rayne eyes the rat for a moment. "QUACK!" she shouts as she flaps violently lifting herself up off of the chair a few of her feathers get caught in the destructive fireball. The duck looks downward at the rat as she flies in circles around the creature.

Splag rises up onto his hind legs at the top of the stairs. Reaching wide with both of his stubby forearms, he gestures forward, causing a strong and exceedingly foul-smelling wind to come blowing up the stairwell behind him, preventing the duck from flying past him and escaping.

Rayne shouted, "Quack!"

Satoshi obviously notices the fermin now... And with bit of angry chattering she darts from the chair, dashing toward Splag with quicksilver mongoose movements. His tail is her target, sinking needle-sharp fangs into it her intent, and all before she zips away from easy striking range, taking cover beneath a chair.

Kazuma shouted, "Who let a duck in here?"

Mahri shouted, "Someone get that damne duck!"

Rayne turns around abruptly gliding she starts to flap as she moves around sailing down to the ground hiding behind the couch.

Splag shouted, "I has it!"

Splag shouted, "Ow! Stupid weasel!"

Mahri shouted, "Take it to the kitchen for dinner then!"

Satoshi shouted, "*indignant chirp!* (Mongoose translator: I'm a mongoose, not a weasel!)"

Splag shouts a response and aims at the duck as it flies away, then jumps in surprise as needle-sharp teeth snap onto his tail. Wheeling around, he launches a quick and hasty bolt of fire at the mongoose as it tries to flee under a chair.

Satoshi squeaks in pained horror as she reaches the safety of furniture only to discover the end of her bushy tail on fire. Frantically, she bats out the small flames with paws before retreating further into her shelter.

Rayne waddles around the sofa. Hurrying she walks up behind the rat, her bill open as she moves to "Bite" his tail as well.

Splag snarls to himself. With two elusive animals to trap, he would have to try a different tack. He drops to all fours and starts to shake himself. At that moment he catches sight of movement out of the corner of his eye and whirls around, just managing to yank his bloody tail out of reach. He bares his teeth and leaps, trying to pounce on the grounded duck.

Mahri appears from below.

Rayne the duck begins to flap her wings trying to lift herself up off the ground. It would not be so as she is pounced upon and trapped on her back. The Duck angrily closes her mouth and lunges her head toward the rat-creature.

Mahri finds her way to the throne room, pausing in the entrance to try to figure out just what the hells is going on.

Satoshi, with tail-fire extinguished, reemerges from under the chair. With Splag distracted pinning the duck she makes another dash for the fermin, this time fangs seeking out a wrist to clamp on with the same force a mongoose uses to snap a snake's neck.

Mahri : Both brows shoot upwards and a short bark (no pun intended) bursts past her lips. Oh, this is quite entertaining.

Splag screeches in pain as the mongoose latches onto his arm and shakes it. Reflexively he finishes casting the spell he had just been interrupted at by the duck, as it was also his best defense against predators. From out of his fur erupts a hideous stench, which quickly fills the room thanks to the wind. Normally enough to temporarily incapacitate a human, in an enclosed room and being constantly circulated by the wind, this stinking cloud seems even worse, with even Splag suffering some effects.

Mahri 's eyes water as the stench hits her sensitive nose, "Dear Gods.." she groans, coughing to clear her lungs of the scent.

Rayne 's quacks become dull as her eyes begin to water up as well. Un able to hold herself the duck starts to flap her wings in protest, her bill used as a hammer to try and get the predator off of her. Qucking away the duck tries every thing she could think of to escape.

Satoshi is very quick to release the fermin's wrist with an irate hiss. The stench is too much for her sensitive nose at such a close range, evident by her rapidly shaking her head, coughing and sneezing unhappily as she stumbles back from Splag. Only halfway back to the chair is managed before she slumps to the floor, paws clamping over her muzzle as her befuddled mind struggles to call on her cryomancy, for one last ditch attempt.

Splag staggers upright, clutching his bit arm to his chest and covering his nose with his other hand. Normally immune to the toxic smell, this one is potent even to him. After a moment he realizes that he just let go of the duck. His reflexes slowed by the pain and senses confused by the smell, he aims downward and launches another bolt of fire at it.

Mahri stalks across the throne room, glaring daggers at the fermin. "Get out. Incompitent idiot. I'll take care of these two beasties." So saying, she reaches down and scoops up the mongoose, hoping the thing doesn't bite her in its fear. This was the druidic part of the lycan kicking in. The chill from the small animal should have been her first clue, but she was busy stalking towards the duck to grab it harmlessly by its neck.

Rayne squirms and flaps about the moment her wings were released. She had just about pulled her self free when she saw the firebolt squawking and and quacking loudly she knows her time has come to an end. The sudden feel of her being picked up by the human, the ducks head turns., Webbed feet kicking around and her bill making loud annoying noises in protest of wanting to be put down.

Mahri shakes the duck to silence its squacking, "Shush you, or it's the stew pot."

Splag mumbles to himself, "I had it under control..."

Mahri sneers at Splag and shakes her head, "Sure you did."

Satoshi only refrains from biting the lycan for the simple fact that opening her mouth to do so means her getting a -taste- of the foul smell in the air, something she really doesn't want... Still, she at least gives the woman a bright-eyed and feral glare... for about two seconds, the expression vanishing upon recognizing Mahri. Whiskers quivering in delight at the familiar canine, the smaller-than-usual mage triggers what little magic she possesses in this form with a chirp. For a fleeting moment Satoshi's fur is outlined in pale blue light and the air around Mahri chills suddenly, a brief snowfall of delicate flakes falling about lycan and animals before the magic is used up and summoned mini-storm vanishes. Hopefully, it serves as clue enough to Mahri just who she has in her grasp.

Mahri shivers as the temperature drops. She refrains as well from looking at the mongoose, but a slight twitch of her lips indicates she knows just who she has at the moment. Squeezing the Mongoose a bit tighter than really necessary, she gives the rat-man one last disgusted look before turning on her bare heel. "Better hope this stench is gone before Lord Vuryal returns. You might find yourself banned from the castle altogether."

Rayne becomes still with the minus of her feet shaking and her body shaking from the cold. Even past the storms departure.

Splag glowers at her retreating back, gingerly prodding at his injured arm. He waits until she has gotten all the way down the stairs before cancelling the foul wind streaming up it.

Mahri lets the 'duck' dangle and gentles her hold on the mongoose.

Rayne is like a duck popsicle.

Satoshi just gives a few more little sneezes at the foul smell as she's carried off by the druid. Splag is giving a parting twitch of whiskers, at least.

Mahri lets the duck go to waddle where it will, but the mongoose is raised up to eye level and glared at, "Damn it Kitten. What the hells do you think you are doing?"

Rayne waddles away then waits for her partner to come with her. Seeing that Satoshi was still captured the duck flies up and over landing on Mahri's shoulder. "Quack!" she says right into the woman's ear.

Satoshi blinks at Mahri, wondering for a moment how one goes about answering someone who can't speak to animals... Oh, wait. Now is about when she remember's the woman is a druid, and such a skill is common for them. With a little squeak, almost sounding like an abashed laugh, she stands onto her hind paws and offers a helpless shrug. [Blame the duck. Et boredom. She wanted to rescue the fiery vamp... Her plan with polymorph potions just went... wrong?]

Mahri turns away from the diguised feline to snarl at the duck, shrugging her should her shoulder to dislodge the unwelcome passanger. "Go away. Roast duck does is beginning to sound better by the second."

Rayne flies away and lands on the ground [ She's not going to understand you.. you know that right?]

Mahri returns her silvery gaze to Satoshi and pulls the slinky animal closer, "The duck is someone I know? You masked your scents." The last was more of a scolding than a statement of fact.

Satoshi glances toward Rayne with a sideways tilted head. [If you know her, it's news to moi. But I know her, and I know you... Besides, that rat back there masked our scents more!]

Mahri glares again at Rayne, "I understand perfectly. Gods, lets go somewhere else to talk."

Satoshi said, "[Somewhere else would be best, I think...]"

Mahri nods and finally lets the mongoose down. Hopefully by the time they get to that 'somewhere else' the polymorphing spell will have worn off. If not, perhaps a bucket of water would do the trick.

Rayne takes to the air and flies above both of the women below... opting to once again poop on Sato.

Satoshi makes a mental note to cook Rayne one day.

Hanging Corpse Tavern

Rayne runs nudely through the door, running behind the bar she quickly scraps some of her "scarlet clothing" and covers up.

Satoshi is admittedly happy to be back in a more familiar shape, even if she does rather miss being a mongoose. Slumping into the first chair available with a relieved sigh, the cat flicks her gaze to Rayne. "Next time... more plans, less bird droppings, hrmm~? I smell like I've fallen in a pond after playing in a sewer all day..."

Satoshi is also glad she knows a thing or two about shapechanging without a loss of clothing. So convenient.

Mahri glares at each female in turn before speaking through clenched teeth. "Just what the hell did you think you two were doing?"

Rayne finishes placing on her civilian clothing behind the bar. Hoping Satoshi would answer the question.

Satoshi had planned on leaving Rayne to answering, but apparently it's to be her job. Turning to Mahri she starts off with a half-smile, appealing to the lycan's lighter side, before speaking, "Like I said, it was her idea I just happened to tag along... She wanted to free that fire-using fellow, can't remember his name..." At this point she looks back to Rayne for a little help.

Vuryal shouted, "Fold! Fold!! You have a present in your compound..."

Heyx shouted, "Yellow! The colour yellow!"

Mahri sucks in a soft breath at the sound of the familiar shout.

Satoshi twitches an ear at the shout, but nothing more.

Rayne said to Mahri, "I received a note from Kazuma saying he had been captured. I thought it was just by the law enforcement. I wasn't about to let one of my group go sit in jail for the rest of his life."

Mahri blinks at Rayne, the sound of the name drawing a low growl from the woman. "Damnit Rayne. I'm telling you now. Stay away from that castle." Turning to Satoshi, she says, "I expect you to be sure she does." They lycan's not going to elaborate or offer further information. Not yet anyway.

Rayne said to Mahri, "I refuse to let him stay in side of a cell or die from some stupid law pushers. He didn't do anything that was wrong. "

Satoshi nods in consent, refraining from pressing for more information despite feline curiosity practicularly screaming at her to. "Erm... Right. Don't go near the castle. I've no intentions of poking around there again, I can assure you. So, you," and now she looks to Rayne, "if we want to get into trouble again, it's not going to be there. Oui?"

Vuryal appears in the HCT.

Leoxander appears from the north.

Mahri slaps her hands so hard on the marble bar top that Urghdak actually comes alert. Finaly, a fight? Steadman pauses in the polishing of his glass and eyes the lycan with his good eye. Rising abruptly, Mahri speakes surprisingly softly to Rayne, "You ~will~ stay away, Rayne. Whether or not he did, you won't be helping him by making poorly planned and attempted rescue attempts. Understood?"

Vuryal looks up from his table upon seeing the lycan pirate. "Come, join me," he offers.

Mahri , having said her peace, glances over her shoulder before making her way around the bar. Considering the discussion over at this point, she whispers something to Steadman who nods shortly and exits back to the kitchen. Perhaps to speak with the cook about the next weeks menu, or simply because Mahri threatened something unpleasant if he didn't make himself scarce.

Rayne using trained senses kept her eyes on mahri while her ears listened to the newly arrived males voice.

Leoxander ::The old door would creak. It always did. Beneath the thick tread of boot soles, hardwood floors submit to silence. They were tied to his shins, an unbuttoned black duster at length to his knees and carelessly unbuttoned. Around the rogue's path, the shaggy black mutt would trot inside in a jovial mood, soulful brown eyes searching in such a kind and friendly way compared to the dual toned gaze that drifted the scene in a shrewd glare beneath a veil of dusty blond. He still wore the black assassins mask that concealed obvious identity for the walk, but as he followed the dog inside, he'd peel it down from his nose around his neck, as there were no need for subtleties, here. He went right to the Parasite, pulling out a chair at the opposite side of the table. "It's about damn time..." The pirate would mutter upon taking a seat.

Vuryal smirks, the blatant character of the pirate more than to his liking. "Indeed it is about time. A drink or food?"

Vornir | The ground trembles slightly as a huge being stomps up the street outside. It is Vornir Brimirsson, the frost giant. He bends down, on to his hands and knees, so as to peer in the window, a single, massive eye studying each person individually.

Vuryal glances towards the giant, a note of his presence taken down into his psyche.

Mahri 's already on her way to the table occupied by the males, a bottle of amber liquid and two glasses in hand, "On the house, of course." Setting the items down, she removes herself from their company for the time being, obstentiously to take up Steadman's place in organizing the back-bar.

Vuryal nods to Mahri. "Thank you, madame."

Vornir speaks, muting his voice as best as he is able, though it is still loud enough to cut over any other noise in the room. "I seek information. I am Vornir Brimirsson, Champion of Frostmaw."

Satoshi has so many options to give her attention to, ranging from pirate, mutt, and table-mate to a massive eye outside the window. And yet, the cat's far more intent on sniffing at her hands, nose wrinkling in disgust with each breath. "...Hellfire, I need to bathe..." the mage murmurs to herself, a brief accusatory look sent Rayne's way.

Satoshi can't help an ear flicking toward Vornir, not at the sound of his voice, but his mention of Frostmaw. She makes no further action past this, however.

Vuryal pauses a moment upon hearing that name. "Vornir, is it? You left a message for me regarding joining the Empire."

Leoxander crossed his arms over his chest. "What the hell kind of a question is that?"

Vornir hones in on Vuryal, giving the man a second assessment. "You are the Parasite? Well then. Yes, the JArl has asked me to involve our people in the Empire, for the trade benefits and military opportunities it presents."

Leoxander let his arms uncross only after the drinks were placed down at their table. He'd regard Vornir in silence while taking several large gulps of the sweetened liquor he was more or less immune to.

Vuryal shake shis head. "Enough of the pleasantrie I suppose. We have some important matters to discuss, the first being the Fold members."

Rayne looks at the the giant, her eyes then trailing toward an angry looking feline to which she shrugs innocently. She wished she had her book with her. Looking at the bar she wonders who is going to take her order? Shrugging the woman walks behind the counter and grabs a bottle of her normal drink placing the correct coins on the counter. As quite as she could be the human/lycan makes for an empty stool to sit upon and keep to herself.

Mahri has an ear turned towards the conversation, though she tries to keep it sublte.

Leoxander returned his attention to Vuryal, keeping his voice low, almost a growl under his breath. "Takin' over the world, now? Glad I got the warning before all hell breaks loose."

Vuryal said to Vornir, "Good. Then, I require an emissary to join my ranks as a trade. The protection and power of the Empire will be at the disposal of the Jarl should this request be met."

Vuryal takes a sip of the fine liquor. "Nay. I have no such ambitions. Just the island of Rynvale."

Vornir said to Vuryal, "The Jarl suspected as much. I am to pledge my services to you, although with the caution that due to my position in Frostmaw, there are often duties there to which I must attend."

Vuryal said to Vornir, "I would expect nothing less."

Satoshi heaves a sigh as she pushes herself out of the comfort of the chair, boots dragging as she shuffles to the door. There is bathing to be done and little is going to keep her from tending to that task now. With a parting salute to Rayne and Mahri, the mage takes her leave. Through the door if the giant isn't blocking it, otherwise a spare window will serve just as well.
