RP:Reviving The Plans

From HollowWiki

Summary: Reginae meets with Xzavior to discuss reviving attempts at restoring Alithrya. She hopes to schedule an audience with Queen Hildegarde of Frostmaw to formally discuss their so called alliance after Balgruuf's defeat. The snakes also discuss some romantic opinions.

Spring of Vitality

Xzavior had been laying in the water of the spring for some time now. Soaking a bit and just enjoying a few moments of freetime that he had down here. What with all the things he's been doing up in larket to help and all that. Giving a soft sigh he looked up from the water and started playing around with some of his magics. Freezing a small area of water and growing ice on top of it to form different things. There weren't all too many things going on, but they were big enough to bug him constantly.

Reginae appears from the west, slowly slithering to the spring to find Xzavior laying out and building ice castles or the ice equivalent anyway. She gives him a rueful smile, crossing her arms across her robed form. The tip of her snow-white tail ticked back and forth, like a disapproving finger. “And what do we have here?” She asked, no one in particular, slithering closer to greet Xzavior. Her hair is loose, flowing in the wind, nearly trailing the ground as she stops beside the spring to look down at Xzavior’s face.

Xzavior turned his head when he heard the voice and gave a smirk as he raised himself up. Looking over to her he gave a faint stretch and shook off the water before coming over to her, "Well, you caught the elusive ice snake in one of his natural habitats." He teased as he came over to her. "How may I help you dear sister?" He hadn't forgotten about that one.

Reginae threw her hands up, in a surrender pose. “You don’t have to remind me about your element. I’m still thawing out from last year’s tournament!” A laugh, while she moves aside to let Xzavior approach her. The scaled length of her tail curls around the ground in a neat cone. The smile only widens as he calls her sister. “Aye, Brother, I was searching for a place to rest a moment. My scales aren’t fond of all this dirt and dust. What brings you by this way? I can only imagine much the same…” Those sharp Azurite eyes hold him for a moment. “You have a pensive look about you. Is there something on your mind?”

Xzavior couldn't help but give her a chilled poke to the nose for the whole thawing thing. Smirking a bit as he does, "I could have done better in that one to be honest. Perhaps later when I go to try again." He had opt to stay out of this one. Mainly cause he didn't want another hole in his side. "Actually, the reason why I'm here is because I live nearby. This spring is where I come to bring Leifa every so often." The question of what was on his mind caused him to slow a bit and bob his head side to side for a moment. "A few things. Nothing really all too important honestly." Well, important to her anyways. To him it meant something somewhere.

Reginae laughs, shifting her waist to lean back and avoid his touch. Thank Aramoth. “I’m rusty, we should spar sometime.” His finger falls and she dusts her robes off as if dodging his attack got her clothes dirty. “I swear, You live everywhere.” A shake of her head as she regards him. “Out with it,” She bids him. “What are we if not friends to discuss matters of all importance?” While he speaks, if he will, she’ll peel off her battered robes to reveal a swim top with Alithrya symbol embroidered in the strap. Her symbol, the emblem she’s made to represent herself as a dignitary. An ouroboros, coiling back on it’s tail with an open mouth.

Xzavior shrugged at her comment and returned with, "I have a home here. There used to be a place in Larket, and currently, Alithrya is under maintenance." Just three. Technically. Looking at the ouroboros, he couldn't help but chuckle a bit at the double meaning, "Isn't that the symbol for alchemy?" Quite the opposite of magic. But with the procrastination out of the way he said, "As you know, I'm not as normal in terms of social norms as most other nagas, I've feelings for Sabrina. Had feelings for her. For quite some time now actually. We do have history together, the vambrace I wear being evidence of that, but thanks to some rather unfortunate accidents and mistakes... well, she and I had separated. After some time, I've come to find I want to get back with her." However... so many things stood in the way of that it wasn't even a laughing matter.

Reginae looks down at the symbol, blinking. Was it the symbol for Alchemy? She had no idea. It would make sense though, because in order to gain what she had...a lot had been lost in the exchange. Surely there was no black magic or forbid techniques used by the Official Liason for Alithrya in search of the throne, yes? She listens while he speaks of his thoughts. Alithrya, she nods, that’s one on her mind as well. Even though he’s only listing it as one of his home. “ I just feel like I run into you everywhere,” is her short reply. While he discusses his feelings for Sabrina and a clearly complicated situation, she lowers herself into the Spring. Still her eyes remain focused on Xzavior, processing the information and sparking her own personal thoughts on relationships. She couldn’t help but wonder where Muzo was. “Nagas aren’t...forbidden to love other creatures but they are normally...lesser.” It’s a species opinion, certainly is Reginae’s. She had great love for many creatures but they did not compare to the value of another naga in her mind. But she wouldn’t tell Xzavior in so many words that he was dating below his level. He could find a nice naga mate, male or female, to repopulate the species. Get those naga babies into the works, help her fuel her massive empire. That would be selfish. She’ll just think it, silently. “I get the feeling you want to keep the details private, I understand. I’ll only be able to offer vague advice, if that’s what you’re after.” That was a bit rude, she’d asked him what was on his mind after all. She tries again. It’s hard to condone interspecies romances. “I think, that love...in the most logical fashion…” What a sentence! “Comes down to risks. Humans moan and groan about love, about missed opportunities or cosmic signs about what is meant to be. If you care about this Sabrina, don’t wait to try. History is just that; over and gone. It doesn’t dictate who we become or what we achieve if we want something outside it’s reach. Talk to her, see if she feels the same. Be honest.” A shrug, her tone lowering, to almost a whisper. There’s a phantom ache in her chest, that she rubs her fingers to and then ignores. Like she misses someone. No matter. It’s not Queenly to act so.

Xzavior would only cast a smirk when she gave her input on the matter. Like she had let a joke fly right over her head. Not in a rude way of course. He just had to find it amusing. That and the whole comment about other creatures being lesser. His thoughts on that was leaning moreso to the side where it was those thoughts that lead to the downfall of their home. "Well, one she's an elf." Another thing completely against the norm. Far from. "And if you'd ever had met her, you'd know right away love is the last thing on her mind. Which still surprises the hell out of me today how I was able to get with her the first time. She knows I love her, the problem isn't in that. She's just as abnormal as I. Stranger even." When he was done, he found himself back in the water with her. But with that, he also added, "Mind you, all of this stems from a childhood where I was never raised around our kind. I was out of the city at a very young age." And he was pretty much fine with that.

Reginae knows her views on love and relationships is old fashioned. She’ll be the first one to tell you that. But she also knows relationships have other forms of merit. Maybe she’d be forced to marry some strapping Warrior woman for the alliance of their city. It’s no matter. She doesn’t want to be the cause of Alithrya’s third downturn and if it requires attitude adjustments...well, let’s hope she continues to have nagas like Xzavior beside her to remind them how they got here in the first place; by being elitist jerks. “I would like to point out I said ‘normally’ for the record.” She had, look it up. “What’s the strange part? Is it just that she doesn’t have love on the brain? That might be something you can’t change...you can’t force someone to be your partner...unless of cases of marriage for political alliances…” She mumbles, how odd that she was just thinking about that. “So best to just make your intentions one hundred percent clear and trust her to make her own decisions...except I believe you said you knew of a way to get her back? Am I misremembering?” Her tail stretches out in the spring, well below the surface, causing hurried ripples in the previously calm surface.

Xzavior vaguely remembered it. He wasn't even sure what that thing he said was anymore. It was probably quite some time ago. "No, I'm fairly certain she does. Because a lot of the things she's doing now hints towards the fact that something is bothering her more then usual. What I mean by her being strange, is that she's cursed, she's bonded to a hell hound, and she's one of the most self sacrificial person you could meet. Some time after we first separated, I come to find after finally meeting with her again that she had given up on all self fulfilling things like love for doing what she thought to be her only purpose in life. Healing. Pushing away anyone who knew that she was walking down a self destructive path." Without even saying it outright, it wouldn't be hard to tell what he was wanting to do. Other then stand by her, he wanted to protect her from such things.

Reginae notes this conclusion. She had, at one time, resigned herself to something similiar. It’s safer, to not love or pursue selfish interests. That’s how you get hurt, by wanting things. Want nothing and you can never be disappointed in what the world offers, but you can’t experience true happiness either. Life is lonely. Too lonely for even the most attainable of goals to satisfy you. “She’ll do everything she can to push you away, because she’s afraid.” Obviously Xzavior already knows this, he’s just said it, verbatim. “It might take her a long time to trust that you are different. That you really will stand beside her once her walls begin to come down. Just make sure you resolve to do it to the end. Never give up.” Already her scales feel better, softer and revitalized. Less itchy. Odd snake things. “On the subject…” She tries to brooch this naturally. “Have you seen Muzo by chance?” All trace of him had been removed from the land. When was the last time she saw him? In Larket? When they all worked with Artia on the fermin poisonings? Reginae’s sharp gaze diverted to the depths of the pool, to guard herself from Xzavior’s eyes. She’s afraid it’s too plainly written in her features that she is concerned. Some soft part of her heart wonders if she’ll find a male to stand beside for all time.

Xzavior did in fact know this. The problem was the part where her walls came down. Would he see the Sabrina he once knew, or would she have changed beyond measure? Unrecognizable. "That's the plan honestly." Was all he could say on the matter. However, when she went on to ask about Muzo, his brow peaked up a bit with curiosity before slowly gaining a smirk. He had seen a hint of it the one time they were all together at a tavern once. This only helped serve to prove his suspicions. "Why sister, do you have eyes on someone as well?" He'd offer that much of a tease but quickly moved in to comfort her. "I haven't seen him around, no. But I've no doubt that if he were to be anywhere, it would probably still be around Larket. if like last time he wanted to help the city out, he'd be back again after hearing about the disaster."

Reginae clears her throat to hide her momentary embarrassment. A quick word to dispel any thoughts that she thought of him as nothing more than another of their kin...to be regarded and cared about. “I merely hope he’s well. I’m not sure he cares much about Larket so much as the research he was doing there. He might have moved on to a more worthy cause.” Yes that must be it. His attention span found him in other places and times, doing what he did best. Inquiring, explaining. “He was working on a project with Chaos sparks...I’m curious to see how it turned out.” Cool as ever, she hopes to have played off the inquisition. “I wish you luck, brother, on your quest for happiness with this woman. May she be as worthy of you as you seem to think.” A smile, as she clasps his shoulder with her hand. After offering him an affectionate squeeze, she pours herself back onto solid ground and re-fixes her robe. “One of these days…” She pauses, the gears of her mind whirling. “Actually, will you come with me tomorrow? I am going to Frostmaw to seek audience with the Queen. It’s been too long since we’ve been able to discuss our alliance and request for aid. Their war is over now. Will you come with me?”

Xzavior chuckled a bit hearing that from her. One of these days he'd have to teach her a better way to cover something like that up. "I'm actually not surprised there. But who knows. Maybe you might still find him hanging around there. After all, such a disaster is quite curious in itself." He looked after her as she went to leave and gave a hum at her kind words, thinking something along those lines before raising a brow at her final question, "Audience with the Silver? Why not. It's been some time since I last talked to her." He was actually quite curious as to how she was doing. "And good luck to you on your hunt as well." Last time he teased her about it. Truly.

Reginae gave Xzavior a good natured smile and a wave before heading off. They'd agreed to meet outside the throne room in Frostmaw tomorrow later in the evening.
