Part of the Saurian Onslaught Arc

  • Note this is the ending of the arc, if you need to put in a rp, place it above this on the Saurian Onslaught page. There are no sequels to these to characters, they no longer exist in hollow as of the end of this rp. Thank you if your reading this last rp.

Location:

Into The Woods The area is covered in trees and frozen bushes as you move into the wooded path. Your vision is slightly hindered by the drifting snow that blows from the treetops above, and the only place to travel from this location is to the south, where the trees fade, or north, where they thicken even more. (modified below)

Broken Steps From underneath the broken towers above, you find yourself near what used to be a small home, now having been destroyed and almost non-existent. Aside from the single wall that still remains of the home, you find yourself before a set of steps which lead very slightly down and into the east. The old worn steps are decaying still, however they are sturdy enough from the thick ice which covers them, even though slippery. You may crawl under the stones north, or move to the east.

Frost Chilled Basement As you find yourself in the old chilled basement, the light seems to fade and only darkness remains. The slight light that does flow through sparkles strangely within the ice over the room, and the chilled air is accompanied by the steam flows from each of your breaths. With one heavy breath, the steam before you forms into a half decayed face, the eyes sunken in, and a look of terror and sadness spread of its features. The strange, and eerie formation fades just as quickly as it was made, and among the icey floor, you can hear small footsteps, but see nothing making them. The only path from this room is to the west.

Location remodeled:

The former remains of this home have been patched up. Boulders and rocks and stones have been used to rebuild the walls of this former home, and roof once again covers the homestead. It looks rather rugged and very very spartan. The basement by contrast is now warm, and the fur of few bears and wolves now adorns the floor like carpet. The area is warm, heated by hundreds of engraved runic symbols that have been chiseled into the stonework of the basement. A small little fairy sits in a doll sized house, looking out her window as she sips her tea from her cup. The floor of her house that sits on the shelf has many carved runes that seem to draw only the faintest of magic from her, and pass it through to an apple sized cube which radiates heat, while transferring and transforming her small amount of magic into much higher amounts, which is then used to “power” the many runic devices about the homestead. From the lights which where runed laced crystal balls. To the complex machine on the counter which crushed coffee beans in to a powder and then heated water to pass through to brew a rich hot coffee, which filled a mug placed at the end. On a table in the midst of the room stood a much larger cube, still being laden with runes and surrounded by tools, each organized and laid out with proper labeling. A book with unique runes projects an aura around itself as if protecting itself from all things seeking it harm or its destruction.

RP:

Redlceth crept along the forest. The Razurath was dressed as ruggedly as it came, which of course was nothing, save for a belt used to hold a knife, and a spear in its left hand as it walked about, its feet registering no footprint nor sound as he moved, walking on the claws of his toes silenced his movement for the most part. It had been weeks, many weeks since he chosen to seclude himself here, in a place that no one would dare settle, where only the cursed souls of dead frozen, seemed to lurk. For whatever reason they paid him no mind, though every so often he had witnessed another person enter and be tormented by them. Maybe they understood him, or understood what was happening to his people, they were familiar with being amongst the losers.

His eyes watchful as he crept about watching and waiting for some game to appear. Having gone through the mating rituals of the Razurath even without obtaining a mate had definitely prepared him for living out here on the land on his own. The mating rituals something else that would be forgotten, but perhaps its best that knowledge depart this world, and let only his knowledge of Razurath Runes pass on to the next who would read his book. Surely some good would come of it, he used every rune he could think of to block out any attempt to destroy his book, even with Flake’s help, he believed he had made the book even arcane proof. But then he hoped he would never have to test it. It had taken him some time to translate from Razurathian to more understandable language but he did hope that there would be success for those who read it to replicate his work. Even if it maybe no larger scale than what was currently within his hut.

He witnessed the Polarite Refineries destruction, even from Frostmaw, the very dark cloud had been large enough to be seen, and while the heat had not reached frostmaw, he had witnessed with his own made telescope entire snow capped mountains become suddenly tidal waves rolling down their slopes. Venturil would no doubt be wetter, than it had been for some time, perhaps the change in its temperature and the rushing water would eliminate the curses that had permeated its soil for so long, maybe one day someone would restore it being a land of wealth. With the polarite bits that rained upon venturil and chartsend, he was sure a trade for the element would form. Or it would be forgotten, it wasn’t his business to care any more.

He had felt it in his bones since that day, and his vision for while he presumed to be playing tricks on him, but when flake admitted to seeing something, he realized that something was happening to him, he did not know what. Something would flash underneath his skin, like a ghost trying to get out, but he didn’t know what, but now he felt that he knew something was changing in him.

Spotting the polar bear, he could see the game was present slowly he lowered his runic spear, and pointed it in its direction, His hands moving up the spear as the spear head glowed an illuminating blue, and then down in a rapid strike down the shaft. The light was intense as a plasma arc shot through the air and struck the bear in its skull and running out through its legs. The sound of thunder rumbled across the area as the flash was over. Lifting his spear up and setting it on his back he moved forward now walking on his feet. As he watched bird begin to flee the scene, from the sound of his spear. As he approached the bear which was dead, it was obvious as the smoke continued to pour from its ears and nostrils and mouth. Withdrawing his knife he made the cut, and removed its head tossing the burning element aside, and then making a slit down its midsection, soon emptying the carcass of internals, and then removing its fur. Wrapping the fur up in a bundle, and then carrying both meat carcass and fur, he dragged it back to his hut. Opening the door, he hung the carcass on a hook, and shut the door. Placing the fur in a chest by his door.

Taking out his knife again he sliced up a stick of butter and mixed it with some spices he had bought. Coating the bears meat carcass, with butter and spice. When he was done, he opened a stone door, which led to a stone closet space where the heat was much hotter within, and pushed a stone tray in to absorb the juices of the fat, and hung the carcass up, closing the door and allowing the bear to cook. He set a timer on the door, and turned to stairs, and walked down to the basement that he used for more of home then space upstairs. “I am back Flake.” His voice said calmly, as he stepped into the room.

Flake who was busy drinking her cup of tea, placed the tea down for a second and walked out on the the porch of her doll sized house, and took a seat, as redlceth took the chair in the middle of the room to work on the cube once again. “How was the game?” She asked in her small voice.

“Oh it was bear.” Redlceth replied, picking up a small silver shaped instrument which soon possessed a bright thin beam of energy some centimeters from the cube as he pressed the objected up to it and began to make more runes on it.

Flake shook her head with smirk. “I ask a question and i get a confusing answer, why did I ever come with you again?”

Redlceth without evening looking up said. “You had your wings torn off by a drow, and knees down eaten by a troll.”

Flake closed her eyes still trying to forget that happened. It was true the tiny fairy of woman was about four inches tall, wingless, and her knees and down replaced by a pair of runic copper boots, which Redlceth had been kind enough to give her, and more so continued to modify to her liking. “Your bluntness precedes you.” She said with a huff, as she sat back down on the chair.

Redlceth still not looking up at her added, “As does your beauty precedes you.” He said.

Flake blushed a shade of pink on her snow white face. “You flirt.”

Redlceth shook his head as he worked. “It ain’t flirting if its true.”

Flake shook her head, “No it is, and your doing it again.”

Redlceth sighed, “I haven’t said anything…”

Flake interrupted, “No silly, your flickering again.”

Redlceth glanced down at his arm, and sure enough he was, much more rapidly this time. “Must be a fight somewhere, more Razurath being exterminated.”

Flake nodded, “I am sorry.”

Redlceth shrugged, “Its our own fault, therefore we should embrace and own our faults.”

Flake shook her head. “But you didn’t do anything, all of your family in cenril they didn’t do anything, it was those in the valley that did something, they suffered, they are dead, and the army is no doubt dying somewhere, why did your family have to die, why should you be forced to hide out here, away from everything and everyone, you don’t owe it to anyone to pass on your knowledge why pass it on at all, if they wouldn’t let your people live, why do anything kind in return?”

Redlceth who by now finished the cube put his tool down and leaned back in his chair, gazing at her. “Because I have to believe that if the loop of hate and retaliation can be broken by a single act of kindness, that it may produce a testament that their is another way to live life, to forgive and to forget the past wrongdoing rather than seek revenge for it.”

Flake shook her head, “Thats absurd.”

Redlceth nodded, “It may very well be, but how does one combat evil? If we play by the same rules that evil does, how much better are we then they, and they will be preparing for retaliation how will they react when it never comes. Everyday I pray to high trinity for my enemies with desire that they would turn from their ways, and be anew, and yet I have no reason to believe they will, I can only hope that somehow, someway it will break the circle of destruction.”

Flake needed to change the subject, so she did after a moment of silence. But a second later her subject change was not on her own part. It was a soft noise ever so calming, like a relaxed sigh, and then she looked into Redlceth’s direction the ghost image taking the place of Redlceth but this time it was Redlceth who was gone.

Flake looked at the creature, who was leaning back in the chair, she couldn’t completely describe what she was seeing, the body seemed to reflect the night sky, but also the sky of morning its eyes were large and gray, and in addition to its arms it possessed another set, and four legs, a colossal creation which she then realized when it stood the house seemed to grow around it, as if it were changing her perception of reality. “Redl? She asked stuttering in awe.

“Yes?” it was like a reply in her own mind, not in the basic tongue he had spoken but in her native language.

Flake stuttered, “Um your no longer the same.” She said pointing at him.

The figure looked down at himself, and then looked up seeing a duplicate of himself, and realized he was looking at himself, as if another copy had materialized.

“O….K….. thats new, and it almost feels cool,” He looked at her, and tried imagining her like she wanted to be.

Flake blinked and heard a crash as she found herself now sitting, in the midst of her broken house, now the size of human, and with her legs, her actual legs again, and her wings. She touched them and then looked at him. “Oh my…”

Redlceth’s voice interrupted, “How about instead of finishing that sentence, we ditch this reality and find ourselves a new one, I think I can sense the higher beings of this realm noticing me now.” He said offering his hand, which oddly enough she felt herself righted up stand without even being picked up.

Flakes eyes twinkled her smile of joy on her lips she glanced around at everything around her. Everything he had made. “Your stu…”

Redlceth stopped with a touch of his hand on her cheek. “Let it rot.” And then they were gone. No more. Just gone. Gone were the Razurath with this one, none would ever know what became of them, or what they could have become, no doubt someone would find this house again, and look into the things it contained, but Razurath were gone, all that remained was what they left behind.

Final words:

And that dear reader is where this arc ends.

Thank you to each and everyone that participated in the arc, I know it has been rough on many of us, it was rough on me. I am sorry I put you through some tough dealings with me, I apologize again for my over obsessive need to control the details, and my rudeness during the Siege of Tristoth.

I do hope we can move on from here, but if not, thank you all.

As I said, my Razurath are gone from hollow, they won’t be back, but what they leave behind well, thats up to all of you on what you want to do with everything they made that survived, or if the mages guild discovers that book, or maybe someone uses it, to rebuild their crafter or someone finally makes and/or separates a RuneSmith’s Guild from the mages guild, which I will say would be really cool to see. Well I won’t share too much those ideas, my part in this arc is over and what remains is pretty much done, but what you decide to do with the rest, is fair game. Thank you all.
