Gualon Grogshop

Meri is situated at the bar, but it's not a beer or any manner of alcoholic beverage that she has sitting in front of her. It's a clear, cool glass of water. Shoulders are slumped and the woman is slouched and hunched over, as though she were sulking. Or perhaps she was still not feeling fully energized? It's hard to get an accurate read on that question based on so few details. Besides, what's that saying about assumptions?

Trent's entrance followed a matter of moments after the sound of hooves coming to a stop; The northern entrance doors pushed open with haste. Cool steel blue eyes scanned the room as the male moved forward, seeking one in particular. Tonight Trent did not wear his famous leather jacket, nor did he seem to sport that large weapon upon his back; His only belongings carried was that leather bag that hung to his side. Finally spotting Meri, Trent wandered across the Grogshop to where she sat, his ending position a good few feet away. He seemed slightly concerned, "Meri..."

Meri swivels in her barstool so that she can turn to face Trent, this happens shortly after he speaks her name. In the process of turning, the woman leans back so that her back is pressed against the bar's counter in a lazy sort of rest. A tired sort of half-smile crosses lips that are not painted red tonight. In fact, Meri seems to have taken the lazy minimal approach a bit more so than normal with her look and attire tonight. "Trent. You lose the jacket somewhere? Or did you decide it was too hot down in Gualon?" she seemed okay.

Trent maintained his distance. He really did not want to get too close to the woman, especially after what had taken place a few nights ago. "Are you... well? When did you wake up? I'm...sorry I was not there. After a day or so of waiting, I was informed to leave. To let you get well." A shoulder lifted as he took her question into consideration. "It is in Xalious. In the dormitory. I have.... been busy."

Meri pats the seat next to her as a signal that Trent should have a seat and join her at the bar, "Yeah. Makes sense." They didn't really tell her that much information upon her waking up but Trent has never really led her astray. "I woke up...I don't know, really early this morning?" A frown starts to weight at her lips. "I'm feeling...." She trails off with that answer and picks up with, "..well, I have been taking it easy, I promise." A brow is lifted as she moves on to the other subjects, "Xalious? You have been out at Xalious?"

Trent slowly approaches the offered seat, removing is satchel from the shoulder and settling upon the floor at his feet. When he sat, the barkeep would offer a glance as if to ask the male if he wanted anything, to which two metal digits lifted in signal that he were fine. "Good. I'm glad. You scared me to death with that little maneuver. I... probably shouldn't be surprised. You've always been trouble." he commented with a bit of a joking smile. "I am just glad that you are okay. Or... at least, seem okay. I sincerely hope there are no lasting effects?" A survey of the Grogshop is taken, a metal index finger now scratching into the counter as the hand sat idle. "Yes. I met with a former mutual friend the day after your... incident. Emilia. She is not the same Emilia we once knew." Trent paused a moment, the words that the Genasi spoke replaying over and over in his mind. "She too... lost her memory. This greatly concerns me." When he was finally able to look to Meri, Trent scanned her features for a moment before he went on. "She touched it, too. The amulet. She saw... something. Much as you once had. However, it did not seem to have the effect that you seemed to suffer. Anyhow... these visions were a bit strange to say the least.. and I needed answers. After coming to check on you to make sure you were okay, I immediately set out to the village located there."

Meri probably will regret this action later, and she's more aware of it than Trent might think, but the sound of that metal finger scratching against wood is just irritating as hell at this particular point in time. Her own hand comes to rest on top of the said metal appendage, as if this might still the beat or something. Yeah right. If the behavior she wants to stop does stop, she'll remove her hand like a good girl. "Emilia? You met with Emilia? And you said she lost her memory too....Her poor children." Meri continues to frown heavily. "She touched it too? But she is okay? I am glad she is okay...I should try and meet with her very soon....Where did you see her last?"

Trent looked to her hand upon his as he answered. "In Cenril. The fountain near the library. I was passing through when I spotted her reading a book. I almost did not recognize her. Whatever happened.. altered the poor girl in strange ways." That metal encased hand seemed to ignore Meri's touch, continuing to scratch into the counter top with a little more force. It seemed to be drawing shapes? "She is okay, I suppose. She said at best she had a headache. She was able to speak of the visions she gained with little effort."

Meri still removes her hand from atop of the metal encased one, it only frees her appendage up so that she can use it to rub at the temple of her forehead in small circles. Damn irritating noise. The woman didn't even notice straight away that the thing was potentially forming shapes with it's carvings. "I saw things too...I saw a lot of things. I saw some things from your past...I saw a lot of things from my past...I think I remember? At least I know I remember more..." Now that is a question, how does an amnesiac know when they've regained all of their memories or not?

Trent would used his right hand to try and hold the left still- but this damn thing was seemingly on a mission. Thus far a few triangles. A rectangle. "You... remember? What do you remember?" he asked in a very curious manner. He would not remove that cold gaze off of Meri for even a moment. "What is it that you saw, Meri? Did you see.. a grave by chance?" That last question was a little odd. The scratching continued on. The rectangle now had little stars overhead. Trent began to recognize the shapes things came into perspective. A tower in the mountains, just as Raphaline bare witness to, two years ago.

Meri would attempt to stop Trent's efforts to cease said scratching but he's all but distracted her with numerous questions that involve a series of very involved answers. Some of them she just does not feel like giving right now, so never remind what she may or may not remember. Her attempts to assure Trent that she'd deal with the scratching noise is, "We both know it has a mind of it's own. it's going to do what it wants anyway." A beat. "Do you remember the first vision I saw? How I saw that there was a woman, and feelings of love? I speculated that you loved her." Well she remembered that much. "Keep that in mind. I saw a blonde man fighting a in a war against an army of....monsters." That seemed like an all encompassing word. "And that blonde woman? I saw her again. The same Knight who was fighting the armies...the woman, she was murdered. And the man? He attempted to kill himself. But I don't think he did...Because I saw him talking to a figure in a robe afterward. But maybe what I saw was in no particular sequence..."

Trent sighs and gives up. She was right. The thing was going to do what it wanted to do and there was nothing he could attempt to actually stop it- save just chopping the damn thing off completely. Trying to ignore it, Trent nodded with Meri's first question. "I do." With explanation he seemed even more puzzled. "Fighting in a war against an army of monsters? Emilia saw something familiar if I am not mistaken. A male riding with an army- accompanied by some masked man." His brow knit. "She too saw this woman, I believe. With this man in a garden. This... knight... did you get a good look at him? Was he familiar?" Trent looked worried now. "I just... I am curious if perhaps it is a relative. You say that he attempted to kill himself. Emilia said that she saw visions of a tombstone with the name Trent upon it. Perhaps... they are one in the same? Maybe this Knight is not I, but perhaps we are connected?"

Meri finds herself rolling her shoulders in a shrug, unable to confirm this fact with any level of certainty. It was not clear enough to give a concrete yes. Out of the stool she slides, slowly, letting one foot touch the ground and then the other. She'd linger next to Trent's barstool at least long enough to explain, "There were many similarities between the two of you. Blonde. Tall. But the visions were all such a blur..I did not get a clear shot of his face. Anyway..." She glances toward the exit of the building. "I am very tired. Walk me back?" This walk though? It would be an assumed walk, for Meri's player must get some sleep after your post.

Trent nodded and too removed himself from where he sat, leaving that crude etching for future patrons of the Grogshop. Lifting his satchel, Trent smiled. "Of course. I am sure you need you rest. We can discuss this more another time." With that, he held one arm out in offering the woman to lead the way to where she was currently staying
