RP:Ranger Recruitment in Kelay

From HollowWiki

Kelay Way

Antioch trudges into the tavern, bemused not to see Vajra here. The last he saw of the woman warned him of a bounty on his head. He supposes it's going to be just another average day then.

Eliason takes a small strip of cloth from his bag and ties it around his thumb to keep any blood from dripping. Once finished, he waves Nancy over and offers her a few shiny coins. She, in turn, takes the coins and fetches him a meager meal.

Xarden reckons folk should tip Nancy. 500 gold at least. Do eet.

Antioch pauses in the center of the room, azure eyes scanning the faces. He coughs, an act to clear his throat and call attention, "People, hear me. The city of Larket is recruiting able bodied men and women for an honorable cause. If you have any skill with the bow, are dependable and of high moral standard, step forward and be counted among the Larket Rangers." Antioch unfurls a scroll and moves to a nearby table, preparing his ink and quill.

Xarden falls off his feet at the sudden animation of the room.

Eliason turns his eyes toward Antioch as his proclamation is made. Briefly he considers his the option of joining the cause, but with his recent appointment to the Rynvale guard and his commitment to train with Valiana, he does not wish to overcommit his time. Instead he simply calls over to Antioch. "If it is an honorable cause, I wish you the blessings of the Gods. I would commit my sword to your cause if my time was not already committed to other endeavors."

Madigan glances over toward the young Antioch, surprised and a little impressed that he's already so established after arriving not long ago to these parts. She wonders why he would rise so suddenly: he could've been lying but that didn't seem likely; he might just be a messenger boy for the Larket Rangers (maybe they entrust all new arrivals with the task of recruiting)... whatever the reason, the consideration only entertained Madigan for a few seconds before she returned to the quiet recesses of her mind where she could not be disturbed from or distracted away from.

Antioch watches as young men put down their drinks and approach the ranger's table. The idle chat of the room stirred now, as but three questions are spoken from Antioch, "Name, age, homeland?" Smiling simply at his brothers who answered the call. His attention is arrested briefly by Eliason as the ranger takes his quill and refreshes it within the murky depths of the ink jar. "You can be sure of it, friend. We are a force of good in a land that is shadowed by evil. Your blessing is well appreciated. What is your name, that I may know you?" Once he is finished with one man he is ordered to wait outside the tavern. The training begins immediately.

Eliason smiles and nods in his agreement when Antioch speaks of the land being shadowed by evil. "It is a good thing to see people willing to stand against the evil. It seems to be a rare thing some days." In response to the man's question, he replies, "I am know as Eliason. If it is people of the light that you seek for your cause, you may well seek out the Champions of Kanos. Each of us are dedicated to bringing that light to the world. Many of them would stand with you for an honorable cause."

Antioch introduces himself as well, "I'll remember the name. I'm Antioch. It's a pleasure meeting someone of like mind. I would also like to meet with these Champions of Kanos. How do I reach them?" The leader of the Larketian Rangers asks, interested with aquiring new allies.

Shyzdar sits in the corner of the tavern, his wooden chair leaned back against the wall. He scratches a small piece of wood with his claws, not really aiming for any design, just passing the time. He didn't have a drink either. He wasn't much a fan of alcohol, but sitting and watching the antics of the guests was an amusement in itself. After a while of sitting, Shyzdar hears talk of rangers and perks his ears up, but does not look up at the speaker, to avoid suspicion

Dyzz seems tired in the tavern. She is reading something... reports from Brahms. He was learning to write! She'd better learn too, or she'd look bad. Blue glowing seashells clinked in her hair as she peered side to side at the poor script.

Eliason said to Antioch, "You might seek out the ones known as Redovian or Valiana. They seem to be heading up the order."

Xarden cracks a woody.

Thea has that effect on men,

Dyzz has that effect on soft skins.

Antioch said to Eliason, "That is something I will do then.*offers a smile before looking back at the dwindlng line of recruits* Last call. "

Dyzz saw a line, and got in, just cuz. She loved being part of things. She got to Antioch, and just smiled at him. "I'm in!" She said, with no idea what was goin on.

Xarden is only susceptible like that from one pix only.

Shyzdar decides that the speaker is at least somewhat trustworthy and tips his chair back to its regular position. He slowly stands up and grabs his gear and walks over to the table where Antioch sits. He quickly grabs the quill and signs his name with a rough, but still calligraphic style. The letters look like claw marks, appropriate for a feline. He was a panther of few words, and sits in an empty chair at the same table, sitting and waiting for Antioch to say something.

Thea grins at Xarden.

Xarden grins back.

Dyzz picks her nose, and gets that finger in all the way to the knuckle! Might be causin some brain damage, though, her eyes are goin in opposite directions, so she stops.

Thea makes a grossed out face in Dyzz's direction and shakes her head.

Dyzz is a total goblin babe.

Dyzz can get her elbow in her mouth <o< and dares the elf to pull it off~ She totally wants to see his arm snap like a twig ;3

Antioch chuckles at Dyzz, "Are you sure you are right for the job?" He asks before Shyzdar comes along and takes the quill from his hands and writes his own information. He has Antioch's full attention before he reaches over to reclaim the quill and paper, "Oh, I'm going to enjoy training you." He says, looking at the paper, "Shyzdar. We will move out soon. Be prepared." He was planning on training all of his men hard but Shyzdar perhaps the hardest at the moment.

Dyzz was jealous, Antioch was gonna do Shydar hardest, harder than her! "Dyzz can do it! Dyzz is the bestest!" She puffed her chest out proudly, and looked at him with a confidant grin, arms folded over her chest. "No soft skins gonna keep up with Dyzz at nuttin'!

Shyzdar nods in affirmation at Antioch. He sits patiently and waits, wondering what sort of training he has in store.

Antioch smiles at Dyzz and writes her name down, "Yes... Dyzz. Welcome to the Larket Rangers then. I look forward to seeing how you fare." The man wraps up scroll and gathers his belongings.

Dyzz pointy ears go down a bit. Oh, god. Larket. They were the plunderers of Kregus... and... rangers... Dyzz has mucked up royally. "yeah, well, get ready, 'Cuz Dyzz gonna be the bestest ranger you's done ever seen!"

Antioch stands up and tucks the scroll away, motioning for Dyzz and Shyzdar. "We begin training immediately. I will give you your briefing outside." He says.

Dyzz practices her pelvic thrust while she waits, and headbangs to an unheard tune.

Shyzdar watches Dyzz get down to the music in her head. He wonders what he got himself into. Hopefully she won't ride him horseback again.

Antioch walks outside following Shyzdar and Dyzz. He looks at all his recruits, lazing about outside. He stands in front of them with grace and aplomb, a small smile creeping to his lips. "Fall in. Form a line and stand at attention until given further orders. We will start with the goals and history and who I am." He says, waiting to see what comes of his command. Most men stop what they are doing and form an awkward line with no military decor. Just standing there, puzzled, clueless. Staring at Antioch curiously. Dyzz was a completely different story entirely and seemed to shock the hell out of the leader, "That is quite enough of that, Dyzz. Fall in." However amused he was she would pay for it with push ups later.

Dyzz snapped to attention, and her sudden, rigid poise and good posture would shock anyone. She came from a military society, if one relatively ill disciplined. She had a big ol s*** eatin grin on her face. What a fun game! She was definitely gonna win.

Shyzdar walks over to stand next to Dyzz. He wasn't too keen on commands, but at this point he'd do pretty much anything to keep Dyzz at bay. He didn't think this would do it, but you never know. Shyzdar holds his bow to his right and stands very at ease.

Antioch would get into military bearing later. With Dyzz, it was clear he would need to. "The goals of the Rangers are simple. We protect the lands, we protect the wild. That's it. We train to be the best and we will be. We will use military precision and expertise to wipe out the enemies of men." He glances at Shyzdar, "And panther...." He looks at Dyzz, "And ... troll creature. But mostly men. Now onto history. There is no history. At all." He paces back and forth, "Now that history is taken care of, I'm Antioch.I will be your leader and your mentor. Your torturer and your savior. If you are not one to obey commands from a superior officer, you have permission to return to whatever pitiful life you emerged from. One other thing. I suggest laying off the spirits and herbs. None of my men or women will be lessened by them. Am I clear?"

Dyzz picks her nose. "Totally clear, big head guy! Dyzz is lived her whole life in the wilds, ain't no yellow belly hooman gonna up her in nuttin." She smiled big, seashells clinkering in her long hair, which showered over her scantily clad form, and the witch paraphernalia all about her. She was a tribal creature, and probably had an advantage over most here. However, she still wasn't a ranger.

Shyzdar wouldn't have trouble with the spirits. After his last drunken adventure, he decided he wouldn't drink again, if possible. Now, the herb might be a problem... he was known to have taken some from a druid or two, but hey, what Antioch didn't know, wouldn't hurt him, right? "Yes, Antioch."

Shyzdar glances over at Haku beating up the Drunken Fool. This is what happens when we train outside of a bar, he thinks to himself.

Dyzz helps beat up the drunken fool. "and take that, and that, and summa this!"

Antioch continues to pace back and forth, listening to each individual as they speak. He was soft on them now but he would eventually implement a series of customs and traditions that would make them want to kill themselves. All part of the fun. "Our base is in Larket. You will find me in the Sheriff's office. I know, I'm not a sheriff. But I've chosen to move in, that's just the way things are. Now, drop and give me 4o pushups. Noses in the dirt, ladies. Go."

Dyzz hit the ground, and started her pushups! She'd settle with Larket later. With her tiny size and herculean strength, she challenged herself by doing them with just two fingers. 40 of them. then 50. Then got bored and sat on Shyzdar while he did his.

Antioch was actually hoping Dyzz had trouble so he could make fun of her. Well, this is awkward. At least he still had Shyzdar and the other cookie dough bodies that straggled along to even do ten push ups.

Shyzdar shrugs and gets on all fours. He didn't tend to walk on all his limbs in the presence of humans, but this is how he ran around in the wild, so he was accustomed to it. He does fourty pushups in succession without much trouble. He didn't particularly like being called a lady, though. Maybe it was out of respect for Dyzz, though Shyzdar was probably more of a "lady" than she was. He grimaced at the thought alone of her doing pushups.

Shyzdar suddenly feels a great pain on his back as he reaches 35... was he losing his touch?

Dyzz giggles, and eats a chicken. A few feathers fall down.

Antioch draws in breath to release a roar of angry shouting, "Dyzz, why are you not in formation!?"

Dyzz freaks out! She flails, and wails, and falls all over herself. And Shyzdar. Then, she whoops, and runs around excitedly in broad circles. So much energy! So much excitement! She'd calm down just as soon as she ran into something.

Shyzdar said, "Perhaps now would be a good time for a nice bop on the head... sir."

Antioch really just wants to see Dyzz run right through things, like carts, cattle, buildings. That would be pretty entertaining but he fears the costs that might be associated with wrecking a town, "No running! Where is your discipline? Stop that! No running in circles."

Dyzz stops running in circles, at least. That leads her on a wrecking ball path through town. Carts, people, goats... she stops to eat one whole, a man screaming at her, and then turns around and runs back, an angry mob chasing her. She runs right past the group.

Shyzdar decides to damn formation and runs furiously toward Dyzz. At least eating that goat should slow her down a bit. He gains on her as she turns around to run back. He gets in position to pounce and leaps straight at her. Unfortunately, this was a greater collision than Shyzdar had accounted for.

Antioch has just seen his recruit eat a live goat, whole. He is perfectly well flustered for the day, "Well, now I'm sure I've seen just about everything. Everyone after the troblin! No rest for anyone until she's caught."

Dyzz ducks just in time! Shyzdar goes careening into the crowd of chasers while she does her epic guitar solo style knee slide, with an awesome finish. Then she's back on her feet, running over the hills, and through the woods, to grandmothers house we go! Anyone that could catch her would totally get a prize! She didn't really run that far off. All the people were too exciting, plus, she was still hungry. She ran back through town ,ducking and dodging as only the troblin can, and came up on a big ol cattle. She looked it in the eyes from atop a barrel, people gaining fast. It looked back, and snorted in her face. Seconds later, she was back to running, and there was no cattle there to pull the caravan. Even the harness and reigns were gone.

Antioch has the whole town after her, his ranger platoon, and the goat's lover, Billy-goat Billiam the IIV. How Antioch felt for poor Billiam. As he sees the dust plume settle and then actively shoot back up with Dyzz returning, Antioch tries to block the troblin off until she does a run-by devouring of an entire cattle. On second thought, he thinks, best let this one run its course. "I'll pay for that." He says at the cart owner, getting out his copper purse counting one copper at a time, "One, two, three.... four, five, six, seven.... eleventy one, eleventy two... three hundred sixty-five, three hundred-sixty six, sixty... wait, what? Let me start over, sorry. One, two, three, four..."

Shyzdar regains consciousness after briefly passing out. What just happened? He felt sure that he would have collided head on with the troblin. I guess it was just a vision he had after he collided with multiple people in the mob, eventually ending up in a trough full of pig slop. Soaking wet, he gets back on his feet on the ground and shakes off as much slop as he can. He scans around looking for commotion, or lady bits bouncing up and down. That would surely lead him to Dyzz again.

Dyzz has lady bits bouncing everywhere. The man who had lost his cattle had, dangling from his grasp, by her ankle. She was flushed with the rush of being upside down She had a very contented look on her face. It was a secret calming tool that was very effective on her, that the citizenry of Kelay had learned a little while back. He holds her up in front of Antioch, a very somber look on his face. She'd just eaten his livelihood. "I believe this is yours?" Dyzz looks up at Antioch, embarrassed, with her loin cloth handing next to her face, and strikes a sexy please forgive me pose!

Shyzdar sees lady bits and walks toward Dyzz and Antioch. He's still filthy and wet, but at least Dyzz seems to have calmed down... for now. Hopefully he'd have a chance to lick himself clean later.

Dyzz swung over and started licking Shyzdar off. It was tasty slop!

Antioch's face is alarmingly full of Dyzz's thong so he uncomfortably takes a step back, "Yes, well... She's a new recruit. Go ahead put her down, I've got your coppers right here. Eleventy-three, eleventy-four. You know what just take the whole thing." He trades copper pouch for Troblin and bows his head, "Thank you for understanding." The trader goes unhappily along his way as Antioch drops Dyzz down, "That's it, I'm going to make you benchpress an elephant one thousand and one times. Does anyone know where I can find an elephant around here?"

Dyzz smiles. "Yeah, Dyzz is still kinda hungry." She continues licking Shyzdar, and drooling all over him. (btw, she wears a thong under that loincloth!)

Antioch orders all his men to fall in, "Back in formation! I think we can all take from today how -not- to act! Take everything Dyzz did and never, ever, repeat. Ever."

Dyzz said OOC, "Last night, Dyzz let the vampiress Freya drink of her after using an ancestral magic to make her blood appealing... and wisdom endowing. It took a lot out of her, so today, she needs to eat as much as 2 ogres."

Dyzz burped. "Yessir!"

Shyzdar gets back up on two legs and walks over to the formation again. He feels quite embarrassed, standing here all dirty and such. Dyzz cleaned off more of it, but he preferred to do it himself.

Antioch just stares at Dyzz and she lays on the ground and burps. "Whatever. Excericse in cadence! Repeat after me! The bend and reach! In cadance!" He starts the motion himself and counts, "One, two, three, one, one, two, three, two." So on and so forth. He would run through the excercises today to give his men a taste of what was expected of them. Extreme physical fitness at ALL times of day.

Shyzdar considered himself to be pretty fit as it was. He wasn't really sure what Antioch meant by bend and reach, and cadance. It seemed to be all military talk to him. He just looked what everyone else was doing and followed along.

Dyzz laid down, and took a nap. She was fit, anyways.

Antioch has the very real urge to fire Dyzz. And set her on fire. Imagine that.

Dyzz woke up a few moments later, and started doing what everybody else was doing. Only, she did it better than them. Her energy was boundless! She was fasterer, strongerer, and more importantly, sexier and smarterer than them. <3

Antioch feels nice and brisk after the excercises, "Good job all! ... And, Dyzz." He is unsure of how to properly encourage someone who terroized a town by eating a goat and cow then fell asleep. "Remember, take your training seriously. Run as much as you can to improve your cardio. As much as I like the s***s and giggles today has been, there is only hard work ahead of us. Take your station seriously when you come for training you are a ranger. Act like it." He looks around at all the men pouring down sweat and out of breath before he gives an affirmative nod, "Dismissed. I have nothing else for you." Overall satisified with todays activities.

Dyzz goes awww, phooey, piece of cake. Then, she finishes cleaning Shyzdar. It was tasty slop. She should ask him where he got it~

Shyzdar had no problem running, either. These other recruits must not have set foot in the wild before. He imagines that the actual training activities would not be difficult at all for him. It was the commanding that would be rough.
