Council Meeting Room

Tucked back behind the new commons area remains this subdued area of meeting and strategic planning. The boardroom itself has changed little in terms of objects and appearance, though there is a feeling of increased importance within the room as various soldiers mill in and out in a steady flow. Scout briefings take place virtually every hour of the day without fail, interrupted by the occasional update of crucial information. Once voluntarily yielded by Larket's sympathy to the old rebellion against the immortals, this room centers the actions of the entire Larket military outfit, and of greater campaigns when necessary. Notes made by the commander himself are scribbled all over the map draped atop the elongated table, obviously for positioning purposes. Chairs sit strewn about the room with little rhyme or reason, the fast-paced meetings usually leaving troops little time or room to be seated. Unless you're one of those who need to be here at present, perhaps you'd best wriggle your way back to the commons area.

King Parsithius of Larket is here.

Queen Jacklin of Larket is here.

Lord Roldan of Vibrance is here.

Parsithius enters beside Jacklin and before Roldan, who follows behind most likely; his words are heard easily, "We need not step foot in there again. I must rest. Thank you for your assistance Lord Roldan. I will see you when you retire to bed, my Queen."

Jacklin removes the diadem from atop her head and slings it over the council room table. Her mood had soured immensely, "You needed to speak, Roldan?"

Jacklin nods to Parsithius as he heads for the bed chambers, "I'll be there soon, King."

Roldan said to Jacklin, "I did. The insults you suffered today were...intolerable." It seems as though Roldan speaks as much of the insults he received as those given the queen. "I ask your authorization to hunt them down and make them pay for their crimes."

Parsithius waits, "I'll stay with you until you decide to." And with that, the man moves back toward the two.

Jacklin said to Roldan, "They were. I should never have ventured there. I'd say have at them, Lord Roldan, but the King has a stake in their behavior. It is his kin, not mine. Had they not been I would release you to do so this very night."

Roldan nods to the queen and turns to Parsithius. "What say you, sire?"

Parsithius chuckles at Roldan, "No. Do not hunt them down. I need you, Lord Roldan; what do you think of a certain title..." He pauses, as he crosses toward them, "Roldan, Duke of Gamorg. Think you annex and capitalize on a war-torn area filled with ogres and goblins, in the name Larket?"

Roldan pauses, thinking. Finally, he says, "Give me the men, lord king, and I will take the city within a week."

Parsithius turns his head to peer out of the corner of his eye at Roldan, "How many do you need? I can grant you up to fifteen thousand troops total, and four thousand ships."

Roldan frowns. "Allow me to scout the city first, sire. I would not take more troops than I would need, with war brewing to the south. Give me a day, and I will have the numbers for your approval.

Jacklin waits until there is a lull in the negation to offer Roldan a respectful dip at her waist, "I am most thankful for you this evening, Lord Roldan. Your return bodes very well for Larket indeed. I'll be interested on what comes of your scouting. Now, I must retire. Enjoy you evening."

Roldan salutes the queen. "I live to serve Larket," he says.

Parsithius wraps a bare arm around Jacklin's waist, "Very well, Lord Roldan. I must retire as well. Fare thee well."

Roldan offers a final salute, and turns to march from the room. From his hurried pace, it would seem as though he intends to sail for Gamorg this very night.
