RP:Of Wanderers and Home
Part of the Thy Kingdom Come Arc
Summary; Xzavior brings Reginae news of Hildegarde's revival and search for allies. As Reginae believes she is due an Alliance with Frostmaw and the Ice Dragon, she means to fulfill her promise to Satoshi and Hildegarde by lending what aid she can.
Red Ogre Inn
Xzavior sat at a table within the Red Ogre Inn with a cup of coffee looking around expectantly hoping that since Reginae was helping out here that he would be able to catch her at the Inn. He wore a black long sleeved shirt instead of his usual white robes after having them shredded and stained. With a quick drink he leaned back and looked towards the door of the establishment.
Reginae came through the door in her normal traveling shape of a child with long white ribbons of hair falling down across a tattered robe and fur lined snow boots. She'd been working poking around Larket a short while since Artia had mentioned an issue, as had Muzo and Xzavior. It was only a matter of time before they ran into each other again. "Xzavior!" She said, spying the male as soon as she came through the doors. The child approached his table with a warm smile, though the situation likely didn't call for it. "How are you? What's been going on?"
Xzavior smiled as she approached and moved a chair out for her. He should have guessed he would have run into her so why worry? "Everything's been fine with me recently. Well, I got stabbed but that's not really important." It wasn't to him anyways. And with what he wanted to talk about there was something way more pressing then a wound. "In any case. You know about the whole Frostmaw situation right?"
Reginae took the chair he offered with a slight bow of the head in thanks. "Getting stabbed normally isn't fine, but if you are able to handle yourself in a fight with me, I'd wager that it's nothing more than a bee sting." She laughed, "I have heard a bit. I tried to go visit after heard about the Stewardess but it seems the Giants have everything on lock down right now. You have news?" She quirks a snowy white brow in his direction, her curious smile hard to disguise.
Xzavior chuckled and placed a hand where the wound was for a moment, "Well, that and I practically live with a healer, so that's a plus. But it still wasn't pleasant no." He still wore a smile as she explained what she knew though he gave a bit of an awkward shrug when she was done. "News yes, I've actually been to Frostmaw recently, though I don't think I can be going back any time soon, and talked to Hildegarde. I plan on helping her out and thought of asking you to support her in this."
Reginae blinked at Xzavior before nodding. "Of course, I have a semi-longstanding...semi-alliance with Frostmaw. So all of Alithrya's strength is with her, whatever she should need." So Hildegarde had been revived. Good. Damn good news! "What does she need? Where is she now?"
Xzavior gave her a fanged grin at her quick questions, "She is residing in the Xalious mountains right now, but as for what she needs is what you'll have to ask her. She didn't give me any details on that but Pilar is up in Frostmaw right now and if I am correct Hildegarde has already sent her a message asking for details about what's going on and most likely some orders."
Reginae closed her sapphire eyes and smiled at the table between them. "Then maybe I'll pay Pilar a visit, to find out what the Stewardess needs done in Frostmaw before her return." The naga shifted child didn't say what she was thinking, but she'd suspected that someone else was trying to take Frostmaw from Hildegarde, and that was more than enough of a reason for Regi to get involved. She was tired of courting leaders left and right for these places. "And then head to Xalious...though Xalious is a bit closer. Might be better to just try and find the Dragon myself. Xzavior, you're the guy in the know around here." She smiled at him, placing her index finger against the side of her nose; a gesture associated with someone who is well informed. "Thank you for bringing this to me. How is Artia? How are things going with the Fermin poisonings?"
Xzavior grinned with a nod, "I try to be that way in any case." At the switch of the subject he bobbed his head side to side, "Artia is more or less fine right now. But we were able to get our hands on a live fermin so it won't be long before we start questioning the little rat." He gave a dry chuckle, "It's also the one who put the dagger in my side, so it'll be a little interesting."
Reginae grinned at this information. "After he tells you what you need to know, you can just eat him. Fair's fair." She shrugged, as if this was a completely normal answer to a completely normal problem. Snakes loved rats right? Why wouldn't nagas feel the same way about eating fermin? Basically the same. "Or you can stab him...and then eat him? I would probably just eat him. Less mess." Regi wasn't trying to be cruel or suggest something unreasonable. It was just the natural order of things. No sadistic malice laced her words, that wasn't really her bag. "How did Hildegarde look, when you saw her? Did she look like someone who'd just come back to life?" Rude question, but Reginae was ultimately more curious than she was tactful at times.
Xzavior shrugged at her suggestions, "I'm not to sure about eating him really. I don't plan on getting sick with everything that's going on." He paused for a second and thought about it, "Well, I did basically deep freeze him so it might be fine. Ah well, we'll see what happens." He raised a brow at her questions of Hilde and hummed, "She looked as well as anyone else would though she was left in a weaker state. She was lifting buckets of water from a well when I saw her."
Reginae was trying to image the iron clad ice dragon pulling water up from a well but her imagination failed her. " Makes sense," she replied in regards to the fermin eating train of conversation. "Do you need anything from me before I go?" She arched a brow. This was a serious request. She didn't want to leave unless she was of no further use at the moment. Surely Artia, Xzavior, and Muzo could hold down the fort.
Xzavior shook his head and offered her a smile, "We've got it all under control here.Though if something does come up I will find a way to contact you. I plan myself to heading up to Xalious later to report back to Hildegarde but I'll give it time till you talk to her."
Reginae stood from the chair Xzavior had previously pulled out for her, the tiny legs of her childish form hit the floor with determination. "Is there anything you'd like me to tell her when I see her?" She asked, pausing just before she left.
Xzavior gave a dismissive shake of his head with a grin, "Whatever I need to tell her I will personally. Like I said, I plan on making this more of my own issue. Thank you though."
Reginae shrugs. The male was being secretive so let him have his secrets. "Are you planning on working with Artia to restore Larket instead of coming home?" She paused, right at the entrance to the Inn, holding the door frame with her small hands. She didn't look back at him, but felt for his presence behind her and perked her ears to listen to his answer.
Xzavior frowned slightly at that. He hadn't called Alithrya home in quite a long time, "I still plan on returning there at some point. If there is a lull in the current situation I will find the time. But yes, I plan on staying here until Larket is back in shape. After that I will devote my time back to Alithrya."
Reginae smiled sadly, but she didn't let Xzavior see. "Home is where you want to be. A lot of naga have left Alithrya in the past. I wouldn't take it personally if you decided to never come back." Then she turned, holding a convincingly bright smile. "To be honest, I don't think Muzo has any desire to return either. You're both wanderer types, I think." A small chuckle parts her lips. "You'll always have a place there, even if you don't call it home. Please take care, Xzavior. I'll see you soon." The female will wait to hear any reply he offers before stepping out the door..
Xzavior had his own wistful smile, "Wanderer. Yea." With a sigh he gave a more confident grin, "I will return home, I can't just abandon my place of birth just because of someone's poor choice." At that he gave her a nod and with a small wave said, "Thank you, Reginae. I wish you luck on your next travels and keep yourself safe as well."
