Part of the Things Are Looking Up Arc

Trishtar discovers the camp of Kreekitaka, who is immediately excited by the wings the dragon is currently sporting. The conversation turns rapidly from things above to things behind to things just beginning.

The RP!

Trishtar would have just come from a voyage on the sea and saw a column of smoke rising in the vicinity of the plains, even from Cenril port. What would suddenly land in the middle of Kreekitaka's encampment would be nothing short of odd. The being looked amazingly fair, and had Avian wings with a wingspan of at least seventeen feet long. Spikey neone pink hair that shimmered adorned his head, and a tail sprouted from his waist at the base of his spine, long and slender that waved to and fro. Sapphire blue eyes, with slits like a cat's, scanned the area with a narrowed gaze and a sniff from his nose.

Kreekitaka was, by this point, mostly out of the crate. They had developed a special chair for him--something he could rest on, leaning forward, and propel with his arms using a pair of large wheels. It sucked, but it kept him independent. When the large avian landed in his camp, Kree was informed and rolled himself out to go see. "Hi," he said, raising a claw and waving, before gesturing around. "I seem TAH!oo attracTAH! many of your kinDAH!. HHHTHey say consisTAH!enTAH!yee HHHTHaTAH! my forge-smoke is whaTAH! brings HHHTHem here. I am KreekiTAH!ka, ruyer of HHHTHis pyace, perhaps you've hearDAH! of me?" It's amazing what being unable to speak for so long will do for one's eagerness to make conversation.

Trishtar looked to what, for once on behalf of Kreekitaka, he knew to be an Uyeer. "Better question is your majesty, just what is an Uyeer doing leading this place? Yes I could see the smoke from all the way in Cenril but if I have to be perfectly candid Sir, I am at a bit of a loss. What are this many Uyeer doing out of the sea? At least -this- far inland..." The slits would narrow in interest here. "As for your name, whispers here, acolades for your fashion there, but most impressive was that they Call you King. Granted, you just now laid that curiosity to rest by saying that you rule this place, but my other curiosity still stands sir."

Kreekitaka rippled his paddles a little and clenched his facial crushers in respect. At last, someone who'd finally -heard- of him! And who respected his rule, at that! "HHHTHey are here because HHHTHey foyow me," he said with a shrug, "an' I became richer HHHTHan anyone by coming TAH!oo HHHTHe yanDAH!. Now of course, I senDAH! HHHTHem home when HHHTHey wish TAH!oo reTAH!urn TAH!oo HHHTHeir famiyees, however HHHTHey aoso respecTAH! my DAH!esires here." He glanced around, then said, in a somewhat lower voice, "BeTAH!ween you an' me, however, HHHTHey are becoming resTAH!yess. I am unabo TAH!oo yeaDAH! HHHTHeir exercises, an' even HHHTHough I conTAH!inue TAH!oo heoh, I require someHHHTHing more TAH!oo keep HHHTHeir interesTAH!. I see you have wings--how much experience have you wiHHHTH fyighTAH!.? I have been coopeDAH! up in a TAH!iny box for whaTAH! feeohs yike a monHHHTH an' I've come up wiHHHTH some... iDAH!eas." Oh dear. So It Begins, as they say.

Trishtar would nod in understanding, and even offer a friendly smirk. "I can see that they follow you with how wise and strong you are. Your race has always fascinated me Your Majesty, and I have to admit that in my eon of living...I have studied your race quite closely out of interest and fascination. This is my first interaction with you though, of that I can assure you. If they are becoming restless, and if you have an interest in flight..." His wings would stand out proudly at their fullest extent, shining brilliant in the light. "Then today, is your lucky day. Some time ago I was known as a surgeon. I helped graft metal wings onto an Avian woman named Cerinii, if you are getting at what I think you are, I will have no issues grafting actual wings onto you as well?Or perhaps something else you had in mind? I assure you, I could even make the wings strong enough to actually bare the weight of your carapace ten times over."

Kreekitaka shook his head. No, wings were not what he had in mind. In fact, it was rather the opposite. "As fun as HHHTHaTAH! mighTAH! be, no. How mighTAH! I swim wiHHHTH such heavy HHHTHings affixeDAH! TAH!oo me? No, an' in facTAH! I am searching for how one mighTAH! soar wiHHHTHouTAH! wings insTAH!eaDAH!--I hear HHHTHere are pyaces in HHHTHe sky, beyonDAH! where HHHTHe air is TAH!oo HHHTHin for wings. HHHTHere is where I wish TAH!oo go. Of course, reaching HHHTHaTAH! ceiying is HHHTHe firsTAH! sTAH!ep...You say you are a surgeon, an' have sTAH!uDAH!ieDAH! my peopo? Know you, HHHTHen, of how we change creatures? Perhaps, wiHHHTH your knowyedge of fyighTAH! an' abiyiTAH!ee TAH!oo change beings... you coulDAH! assisTAH! me in gaHHHTHering a TAH!eam TAH!oo deveyop someHHHTHing which coulDAH! TAH!ake us up?"

Trishtar would lean back, and then, sit as if on an invisible chair, one leg even crossing over the other as he pondered. "Places in the sky...Soar without wings...Change creatures..." A grin would come to his face at that one, and he would look at Kreekitaka with perhaps one of the best business smiles the Uyeer may have seen in a long while. "My friend...You wish to travel to the stars? I warn you, it will take a great effort. It will be a long journey, but the good knews is that I am positively optimistic. Gathering a team...should not be that difficult in the slightest, and with the right help I can -easily- contribute, ten times over what one might expect but for the most part, I iwll easily pull my weight. There will be many failures though before sucess." His countenance grew serious at this point, coming back to standing up. "Some of us might even perish in the attempt. Seeing as how I have nothing better to do presently, just getting back from a Venture with a friend of mine, I am certain I can devote my time and effort to the Uyeer cause."

Kreekitaka nodded slowly. He'd expected there to be failures. Every business venture had its failures. Look at the fact that he had a Frostmaw building sitting in his camp. He clenched his facial crushers in gratitude and extended a claw to shake. "Wehcome aboarDAH!, sir... I'm sorry, whaTAH! was your name?" Clearly Kree's excitement over the being's wings had overcome his sense of decorum. "An'--forgive me--buTAH! you yook yess yike any oHHHTHer avian I've meTAH! an' you DAH!on'TAH! have HHHTHe same... aura aroun' you. Are you someHHHTHing DAH!ifferenTAH!.?" Because if he -wasn't- an avian, he'd have to find someone else to take him on a tour of Schezerade.

Trishtar took the hand, er, claw to shake it firmly. The strength that this man posessed was not used to oppress the claw, but one might be able to tell that the raw power that was not being shown must be impressive. "Trishtar, your Highness. Trishtar Ravine." His sapphire eyes would narrow on those slits at the assumption he may have been an avian, but the smirk would still play out in a somewhat playful manner. "I am indeed something different...I am a Sea Dragon, a very old...Sea Dragon. It's how I know what I know about your people. When I say I watched them, I mean I literally watched them. But well spotted your Majesty. I will put out some....feelers, as it were." A chuckle here would be given as if some private joke had just been made. No doubt Kreekitaka would see why the joke had been made if he ever saw the Dragon's true form, but the author digresses. "As for Avians...I am afraid I do not know any. Also, if a Troblin comes asking to help? Smack her into next week. She cannot be trusted. When my previous captain hired her, the cheek of this woman, she failed to show. She also tried to put moves on me by shaking her bust...No, that one will be a distraction. Might I suggest a wondeful Draconian that I just had the pleasure to meet? His name is Ameno."

Kreekitaka flared his facial crushers and paddles--at the mention of both these people. "BoHHHTH of whom--HHHTHe trobyin an' Ameno--are nuisances an' boHHHTH have aomos' murDAH!ereDAH! one of my peopo. Ameno mighTAH! be cyever in some ways, buTAH! HHHTHe more DAH!isTAH!ance I can keep beTAH!ween us, HHHTHe happier Io be. I've no neeDAH! for more acciDAH!enTAH!s. HHHTHe trobyin is HHHTHe same way, onyee yess smarTAH! an' more mayicious." At least the sea dragon had the sense to ask first. Speaking of which. Sea dragon! Now that's an interesting conversation to have. Kree relaxed a little and shifted a bit in place to get more comfortable. "Sea dragon, hmm? I mus' aDAH!miTAH!, you're HHHTHe firs' of your kinDAH! I've meTAH!."

Trishtar frowned at the way Ameno was being mentioned, but could understand easily that not everyone would have the same viewpoint as he. After all, Trishtar had literally only just met the Draconian. "I was simply meaning once I fix his breath weapon, as I -do- believe it to be electricity...Such strength would be invaluable. Especially if we need to defend ourselves in the stars? I was thinking really just sticking his mouth out the side of the vessel or whatever and using it to blast away what needs to be blasted but...We will see. Think on it at least? He...means well, but is simply still learning some things." As the conversation shifted to Trish himself now, his chest would swell with pride and another smile would form, but quickly turn into a frown. "I....am the last of my specific kind. There are many types of Sea Dragons, but I am the last of my family, my island, and as I said...my specific type. You will never find another like me as long as this world exists." It was a lonely existance, that day engraved in his mind and his hatred for all man. The women were fine, but the men were idiots and in a group...rather stupid. "I just hope I do my race credit Your Highness."

Kreekitaka let that part about using Ameno as a weapon go. He'd heard that without air, you could suffocate and die, and he'd been in a place where he'd almost suffocated, and it wasn't fun. He wouldn't wish that on anybody. Besides, he knew others with electrical abilities, he was fairly sure. Instead, he turned his attention to the sea dragon conversation. "...Hm." The king tilted his head slightly and gestured with a claw to his dinosaur paddock. "You know, I founDAH! an egg of a sorTAH! which, HHHTHey say, is a dragon egg. Perhaps iTAH! is one yike yourseff? Or... you know of our TAH!echniques... maybe we coulDAH! infuse some of your essence wiHHHTH iTAH!.? You seem raHHHTHer upseTAH! aTAH! being HHHTHe yasTAH! one, so..." Kree shrugged a bit. Could be an interesting process--if he could figure out how to breach the shell. They'd run experiments, that egg was nigh-invulnerable to everything. Admittedly, if Trishtar was the last of his kind, and he was so old, it was unlikely that an egg of his people had survived so long...

Trishtar 's eyes would light up at the mention of an egg. Those Sapphire eyes would meet Kreekitaka's eyes, stalks, eyestalks, whatever they were, as he listened intently. "You mean to tell me, let me understand that I have this down correctly, that you have an egg, and you are giving me permission to alter what is inside so that I may not have to be alone possibly as much as I feel now?" His hearts were racing, but he knew that Dragon Egg shells were incredibly touch while some were little more than glass. Already the idea that it was a Sea Dragon, given how he had been hatched, was starting to dwindle but there was still hope that perhaps he could make certain that it posessed -some- qualities. "How long have you had it, has it started to rattle, where did you find it/obtain it, and what color is the egg? Does it make more of a 'tink tink' sound? Or does it make a sort of 'toonk toonk'? Lastly, is it smooth? Or is it somewhat rocky."

Kreekitaka shrugged a bit at the part about altering it. "HonesTAH!yee, a sea dragon is of more use TAH!oo me HHHTHan a dragon which yives in HHHTHe mounTAH!ain, you know?" Which might have been the wrong thing to say, but the egg was still -his- and he was going to raise it as far as he was concerned, as long as he could figure out how. "I've haDAH! iTAH! aomos' since my business began--someone useDAH! iTAH! as paymenTAH! for some work I performeDAH! for HHHTHem. I've been unabo TAH!oo geTAH! iTAH! TAH!oo DAH!oo anyHHHTHing, iTAH! is nigh-unbreakabo, an'... here, yeTAH! me show you." Kree turned around and rolled his chair into the forge tent. There was a huge furnace in the center with everal forging areas around it so multiple workers could work at once. There was also a dinosaur nusery in the corner, as well as a hatchery. One cubbyhole had an egg which was larger than the others. It seemed to be made from slightly pinkish silvery metal, and though it seemed to have a rough texture from looking at it, to the touch it was perfectly smooth. When moved through beams of light, it seemed to shimmer with speckles of various opalescent colors, and the sound that it made on impact, assuming Trish wanted to test it out, was almost a "tank tank" sort of noise.

Trishtar had been about to ask to just see the egg, before KReekitaka graciously offered that up himself. "I shudder to think at what methods you used to try and break the shell...I certainly hope you did not use your claws." There was a bit of worry in his voice at that. As they came into the forge tent, and the egg was produced, Trish's breath caught in his throat, as did everything else as he just stared at it. It...was beautiful. "It's a girl..." The male would say, gingerly taking the egg from the Uyeer and holding it up to his ear as he tapped on it twice with a finger. It was thick, but hollow-ish....Meaning the enfant inside would start to rouse soonish, days maybe. "She is going to start wanting out in about three to five days, and she is either going to be a Silver Dragon....Or something. What that something is yet, I am not entirely sure, but either way...she is going to be fantastic."

Kreekitaka had used his claws... and possibly a jawblade... or several... but at least he hadn't been desperate enough to try using a shockwave lobster on it. Permanently damaging soft tissues inside was not how he wanted to experiment with the thing. He did, however, plan on keeping the eggshell fragments and having them reforged into a shield. "Or someHHHTHing?" he asked, rippling his paddles lightly in amusement. "I TAH!ake it you've no more DAH!esire TAH!oo change iTAH!--her, I suppose--HHHTHen? An' you're sure she's hatching in yess HHHTHan a week? Is she going TAH!oo neeDAH! assisTAH!ance?" His very own dragon! This was exciting stuff--and it'd be hatching soon! He was going to be a parent--after all, he'd come to finally accept that dragons weren't just big dumb animals, but people.

Trishtar stood tall as he gave the egg a look over once more, and breathed onto it making some fog that quickly went away as if on a mirror. "Aye. I'm sure of it, you have four days. She will not need help at all, she will be able to easily splinter off the shell. Be careful though, one snap of her wing and the shell will go flying." The excitement in the Uyeer's voice was not unnoticed, and wth a soft nuzzle and purr to the egg form himself, "Soon little Princess." he would place it back with a sigh. "You need to make sure you have food. Lots of food. Cows, mice, whatever, just make sure that there is enough to feed her or else she will get cranky and you dont want that. Nothing is harder to make behave than an adolesent or infant dragon. Also, it is also imperative you teach her how to fly if she has wings. If she sees you when she hatches, you are her mother." A rather serious look here was given, before he looked around "Maybe....I should go ahead and start getting some names of people interested in our venture though, yes?"

Kreekitaka rippled his paddles in amusement and gestured around to the ranch outside. Make sure to have food, says his new science buddy. While standing in the middle of a place designed to raise multiple carcharodontosaurs. "How DAH!oo you suppose I mainTAH!ain HHHTHis ranch? I've goTAH! fooDAH! enough for -packs- of carnivores, an' HHHTHe enTAH!ire pyain is ripe wiHHHTH prey for her." That sorted, it was indeed time to return to science business. Kree nodded. "Aye. I aoreaDAH!ee know Muzo HHHTHe naga is wiHHHTH us, an' he is researching forms of fyighTAH! in nature which may noTAH! require wings. I myseff am going TAH!oo seek ouTAH! an avian for HHHTHe purposes of expyoring HHHTHe avian ciTAH!ee of SchezeraDAH!. We neeDAH! every minDAH! we can acquire for HHHTHis, TrishTAH!ar--yike you say, iTAH! may be raHHHTHer DAH!angerous."
