RP:New Management (or "Why You Don't Punch Your Boss")

From HollowWiki

Kreekitaka discusses Lanara's new position in his company. Also suplexes a guy.

The RP

Kreekitaka was actually manning the store for the first time in what seemed like quite a while. Between the tournament, getting the other two locations up and running, and actually running his city underwater, he had his time spread pretty thin. The store had suffered a bit in his absence--sales were down somewhat and things were mis-organized, which had meant a bit of extra work for him getting things back into prime condition. At the current moment, he was telling off the uyeer who worked for him, which had all involved parties angrily brandishing weapons at each other, paddles and facial crushers flaring. Kree looked different -again-, as he'd managed to finally come free of his scorpion and was once more moving around freely on four legs instead of eight. "<Because I explained exactly how things ought to look when I brought you up here! My absence is no excuse for laziness!>" is the translation of what Kree was in the middle of dance-clattering.

Lanara lands in the sand and quickly dismounts her golden-runed broomstick, and begins to finger-comb her long locks. The witch approaches the store with wide eyes, expecting to see the store overcrowded and mostly with women, as the crustaceon’s wares were all the rage these days. Even the Thane of Frostmaw, Josleen, was sporting some genuine Kreekitaka clothing! Lana, herself, had once owned a beloved pair of heels, but alas, they ended up in the sea from a bachelor party gone awry. The shop seems to be in disarray, and the brunette finds her half smile being pulled into a frown as she sees several uyeer’s, and the legendary designer himself, having what she believes to be a spat. “Kreekitaka!” She exclaims, pushing past the few shoppers and the angry claw-raised uyeers, hoping that she would provide a necessary distraction. “How do you do?”

Kreekitaka had been prepared to fend off an attack--this was usually the part of the show where the uyeer fighting spirit took hold and the employees sought to justify their actions with violence, as was the norm in these situations. (Uyeer are strange, strange people.) As such, Lanara's sudden appearance and throwing herself into the middle of the situation was not considered by the fashion designer to be the wisest of moves and he threw himself forward, throwing out an arm to try and shield her from any oncoming attack, putting himself between her and them. "Yanara! I am fine, mereyee--" He threw a claw up to redirect the sword-swing of one of the employees, latching onto his wrist before punching him in the face with the other claw, the striking out at the other with his elbow before backhanding him. "--chasTAH!izing my empyoyees abouTAH!--" His gripping claw was grabbed onto and forcefully removed from the first employee's wrist, and that hold was subsequently broken and retaliated against with a brutal uppercut and leg-sweep. "--HHHTHeir yack of proper care for my shop." The second employee grabbed Kree in a full nelson, who responded by shoving himself backwards and dropping the male with a piledriver. "ITAH! is noHHHTHing major. How abouTAH! yourseff?"

Lanara grins as Kreekitaka extends a protective claw and aims to defend her, and merely leans against a clothing rack and watches the oddity unfold. The difference in elves and uyeer’s was rather drastic, and the witch couldn’t get enough of watching how they interacted with each other. Why ignore a person, when you could merely pummel them with a claw? Why take your job seriously… When instead, you could beat up on your boss? It was amusing and pitiful, all the same, and Lana clears her throat as the final employee is taken down, and the score is now three to nothing. Kreekitaka truly was a legend! And the woman was more than happy to clap her hands animatedly together and mutter something about him being her ‘hero’ before she calms down and responds to his inquiry. “I am doing alright, I can’t complain. Same drama, different day. You know how it is!? And… I’m really sorry about what happened to your original shop. I had –no- idea about the dealings and doings of Desparrow, and when I got word, I quickly ended the relationship. I left, right before the house was set aflame. I do hope you relocated most of the store, before the home was wrecked? And… Perhaps, you should maybe hire some uh… New employee’s? Maybe someone that would take the job seriously?” A brief glance was given to one of the unconscious uyeer’s, who was seemingly stirring, and aiming to latch onto her boot.

Kreekitaka climbed slowly back to his feet--such massive crushing impacts as that were one of the more damaging things an uyeer could do to his insides, and it took the champion of the clothing store a moment to regain his composure. Rippling his paddles and then pounding his chest once, releasing a thumping bass sound that signified that he was the winner, he turned his attention back to Lanara and offered her an apologetic bow and clench of the facial crushers. "I manageDAH! TAH!oo gaHHHTHer aomos' everyHHHTHing, yes." Kree didn't actually condemn Desparrow's actions as much as a lot of people seemed to, but he was rather disgusted with the methods involved. "An' HHHTHis pair aren'TAH! so baDAH!--I yefTAH! HHHTHem unsuperviseDAH! for TAH!oo yong. Speaking of which." He gestured to her with an open claw. "I comprehenDAH! HHHTHaTAH! you have TAH!ayenTAH! as a seamsTAH!ress?"

Lanara fidgets with a silk garment and settles it perfectly upon its hangar, brushing it free of any debris, and quirking a brow at Kree. “Well… I can do the basics. I can hem clothing, repair some minor tears, and what not, I suppose. But I could never design anything nearly as flawless as the clothing that you design. And I’m not sure if I could do anything on a large size scale, or work with fine fabrics. I’m much better at the business and modeling aspect, if anything. What sort of help are you looking for? Perhaps… Hm. I would have to discuss this with my sister, Talyara. But… Maybe we could come to some sort of arrangement. You see, Taly and I are hosting an elaborate Witches Ball, next month. I know that some guests will be needing help designing their costumes, and others can’t really afford all that much as gold is tight in some parts… Perhaps I could work your store, for free, of course! And you could help out with the ball?”

Kreekitaka made a sort of "hrm" noise and rippled his paddles again, idly stroking a facial crusher with a claw in the same way that one might twirl a moustache while thinking something over. She had some basic experience with fabric, which was good, and he wanted to handle design work on a lot of things himself anyhow. And oooh, another ball. "WhaTAH! I neeDAH! mos' is someone wiHHHTH experience in repair, as you DAH!oo, an' in HHHTHe business parTAH! as I am ofTAH!en away an' wanTAH! TAH!oo focus on geTAH!ing my YarkeTAH! shop up an' running smooHHHTHyee. You say you have experience wiHHHTH boHHHTH. I am happy TAH!oo assisTAH! in any way I can wiHHHTH you ceyebration--I can proviDAH! DAH!ecorations, aoso." He gestured to some of the green orbs suspended from the ceiling of the stall--glowing spheres which shimmered and rippled as the fish inside them swam around and around, blinking their lights on and off rapidly. "If you wish TAH!oo manage HHHTHis yocation for an exTAH!enDAH!eDAH! TAH!ime, I can of course offer you forTAH!ee percenTAH! of HHHTHe profiTAH!s." He was countering her offer of free, temporary work with an offer of paid, more full-time work.

Lanara rubs her chin with her pointer finger and thumb, mulling the offer over in her mind. Kreekitaka ran a hard bargain, and she finds herself nodding in response. “Alright. I think we have a deal! I will work for you, and you will help Talyara and me with the ball! It sounds wonderful. I do think we should hire one or two more associates, as well. Perhaps part time workers? I will be here most of the time, and when I’m not here, I can still have an ‘eye’ on things…” Of course, Lana was referring to her magical abilities and witchcraft, and the large boar at her side was likely much more than met the average eye. Grinning, she tilts her head to the side, and those magical chocolate hues widen as the glowing spheres are gazed upon with glee. The ball would go off without a hitch, and Kree’s business would increase tenfold under her management. The ideas running through her pretty little head truly were endless! “I can start tomorrow, if that works for you. Thank you, Kree, you have made my day. Times have been well…. Rather tough, lately, for me. I think a new job is the perfect distraction!” Beaming, Lana leans her shoulder slightly against his claw, as though they were now business partners, as well as old friends.

Kreekitaka nodded and extended an open claw to her to shake. "Marveyous. I yike HHHTHe iDAH!ea of hiring more hepp an' I'm gyaDAH! you are so eager TAH!oo begin. Io see you here TAH!omorrow morning an' go over HHHTHe invenTAH!ory wiHHHTH you, so you have a beTAH!er iDAH!ea of HHHTHe fabrics an' HHHTHeir prices." That was possibly the easiest time he'd had hiring someone in a long time, and for such a position. Now the Larket store was basically guaranteed to be a success, and the ball would be another fantastic promotion of his services... oh yes, his dreams of running the greatest business on the planet were becoming more and more real every day.

Lanara glances at the uyeer’s, and narrows her eyes, seeming quite intimidating for someone of such a diminutive stature. “If you all wish to continue working here, you will conduct yourselves appropriately in the workplace. Understood?” Two were still unconscious, but that one that was only half dazed? Oh he looked up, and he heeded the womans fierce warning, by busying his claws with folding some of the thicker fabrics, being extra careful to not pierce any of the cloth. Lana would be a hard worker, and she was extremely easy on the eyes, so if she had to model any clothing or even if she drew in some local men, it would be good for business. The witch accepts the claw and gives it a dainty shake, eager to start her new job. “Alrighty. I will see you in the morning, boss!”

Kreekitaka rumbled softly, tapping his chest lightly with a claw in faint amusement. She'd do splendidly at this already, he could tell. He nodded to her with a light bow and clench of his facial crushers. "GooDAH! nighTAH!, HHHTHen, Yanara, see you soon." With that, he turned and resumed working on putting things back in their proper places, making sure everything would be ready for tomorrow. Gotta make sure things were set up for her to be able to succeed properly.
