RP:Nasada, Marked

From HollowWiki

Summary: Nasada's formal introduction to Gheneroc.

Gheneroc growled as his jaw crunched through his quarry. Gheneroc had hunted for his food - a bear. He bit into the meat of the large dead corpse with sharp fangs and flesh-melting spittle. Gheneroc ate, wide in the open. Though the dragon was wingless, he was far from helpless. The stone-colored cave dragon growled softly as he was now half way through eating his quarry - a true predator. A dragon who never bound himself to a tiny human form.

Nasada had no idea why she had ventured so far out of the quiet comfort of that eerie dark forest. Although more dangerous, its spider infested branches held some sense of home for her. Whatever the reason for travel, she would soon come to regret it. At first she hadn't even noticed the gargantuan beast along the path; Unkempt black locks hung low over her face as she gaze upon the ground before her. The sudden echo of cracking would draw the woman's attention. When she saw what blocked her path, she froze with eyes wide, heart nearly pounding out of her chest. She wanted to run. A backward step would cause a sift in the dirt beneath her feet, rocks grinding together, obviously loud enough to alert the dragon to her presence.

Nasada to a moment to recollect upon that night the offer was made, confusion wrought deep in her brow. "Y-you speak?" she asked, nervously. Obviously the poor girl had never seen or interacted with a dragon before, let alone one that could talk. "I have never seen you before... I don't know of any offer that you may have made.." A hard swallow. Again that fight or flight instincting kicked in, her toes digging into the dirt, ready to push off if absolutely necessary.

Gheneroc made no sudden movements, rolling his head. "No, but you met with an agent of mine." Gheneroc put just a little emphasis on 'mine'. The cave dragon put his front claw on the bear corpse, making sure it didn't go anywhere. "I spoke through her." Gheneroc's eyes narrowed. "I sense that you practice magic. Dark magic."

Nasada seemed surprised. Very surprised. "L-larewen? You spoke through Larewen? That...wand... was yours?" She relaxed a little; Although her heart still beat with fury. "I know...some... Not much. I..." she frowned "My learning was cut short. I was cast out of my home for practice. My mentor...died."

Gheneroc rumbled as he shifted his gaze thoughtfully. He soon refocused his attention on the fledgeling Necromancer. The dragon considered the story. "Yes." Came the Dragon's answer at length. "I 'acquired' it."

Nasada stared upon the scarly beast, trying to best judge his intentions. "What exactly... is it that you want from me? I am not sure I have much to offer in return..."

Gheneroc nodded knowingly. His dark stoney scales shone slightly in the star light. Gheneroc rumbled a bit as she brought up the point. "Loyalty. I may be able to arrange for your continued education, but it will be done for my purpose."

Nasada shifted. Something lit up in her face, a bright hopeful glint in her eye. Continued education? THis would be a dream!- But at what cost? "Hmm. And what purpose is this, sir? If... if I may ask?"

You answered. "You will know the details when it is time. In the mean time, to mark our agreement... I will mark mine."

Nasada didn't quite know what to make of this statement. She fought the urge to run, instead a step or two taken forward. "I. Hm." The idea of more lessons in the darkest of arts was far too alluring to pass up. "Very well.. I suppose.. I can agree to that.."

Gheneroc growled softly with excitement. "Excellent." Gheneroc began chanting in ancient dragon magic, weaving his spell. He directed the spell right at Nasada, just to weave his Chain on the acolyte's body - something to truely seal the deal but as Nasada's magic would grow, so would the now-small mark.

Nasada's eyes shifted from pale to inky black; The dormant evil inside seeming to peer out for but a moment. Her shaky hand lifted and touched the foreign body now part of her being; eyes returning to normal with a blink. She wasn't quite sure what kind of decision she had made, but for better or worse, it was... something. "Thank you for this opportunity. I..I promise that I learn fast. I won't let you down, sir.." A half smile.
