RP:Morality Vs. A Dragon-Delivered Buffet

From HollowWiki

Summary: After the battle in front of the Frostmaw gates, Khitti had decided to keep away from those that could be deemed 'dinner' by a hungry vampire and camped out a short way down the mountain. Pilar happens upon her as madness starts to take her, then blood-soaked shenanigans ensue.

Higher Among the Mountains

Khitti hadn't really moved from this ledge since the battle in front of the gates. The red head had kept to herself, aside from when Dominic managed to find her. There was no tent. No blankets. No pillows. It's not like she needed it -- vampires didn't get cold, you know. She could hear most of what was going on up top, the goings on in the camp. She felt the presence of spirits nearby, felt that they were those of the recently deceased, and yet she chose not to investigate. If they wanted to delegate the task of getting rid of them to her, they would've done so. Or at least they would've come looking for her. But, her she sat instead, her back up against the mountain, arms wrapped around the legs that had been drawn up to her chest. There was a twitch every so often that'd course through the woman, a sort of tick that came with her brief taste of and withdraw from the power that had been given to her thanks to that damned bard. Gods, she needed to feed. At this point though, it would be a bad idea to travel north to find a bit of blood. The urge to find someone living, someone fresh was overwhelming. She craved it. Wanted it. Needed it. She could hear the many heartbeats from up top. They taunted her, strung her along like sirens to a ship of ill-fated sailors. Such wonderful melodies they were, those beating hearts. Somehow she had resisted Dominic and his sacred life force. It had only been done through sheer willpower. The vampiress watched the snow fall from the peaks overhead, dark green hues darting between each flake, studying it briefly before it hit the ground.

Pilar wandered out of the camp, planning to head down to Xalious Village. She had started praying to the god of magic lately, and she credited his favor with being able to cover for Hildegarde for as long as she did. She didn't believe it was her own skill, it couldn't have been, she was too weak. As the moved down, however, she caught a familiar scent, and followed it to its source. Khitti. She hadn't seen the older woman in some time, and had been starting to worry. She approached her and sat down by her side. "Good evening, Khitti." She noticed that Khitti had a sort of faraway... hungry look to her eyes. "Are you feeling alright?"

Khitti had been swayed from her reverie by Dominic, but now with him having come and gone, she was left to her own devices, to the hunger-induced madness that often took over many a vampire in Hollow. "Do you hear zhem Pilar? Zhey sound so...so beautiful. Badum...badum...badum." The sound of the heartbeat she made was almost sing-song. ~You're becoming just as bad as Laezila, Khitti.~ "Shut zhe hell up, Amarrah. I'll never be like zhat drow.", she hissed out soon after addressing Pilar. The hungry look worsened as she sat there, irritation and anger settling in thanks to Amarrah's silent input. Leaning her head back against the wall of the mountain, she eyes the portion of the mountain that leads to makeshift camp up top. "Zhey sound so...delicious. Filled vith so much potential." is said to the illusionist, acting as if nothing was said at all by the shadow creature that tainted the marrow within her body.

Pilar found herself growing more and more concerned the more Khitti spoke. She had been neglecting her feeding again, it seemed. Pilar pulled up the sleeve of her white tunic. "Khitti, you need blood. Here." She offered up her wrist to her fellow vampire. Khitti might have -wanted- living blood, but she -needed- blood of any kind, or she would lose her mind, and Pilar didn't think Khitti flying into a blood rage would end as peacefully as hers had.

Khitti let out a soft snarl at the offered wrist, narrowing her eyes at Pilar. "No. I'm done drinking from you and Daermon. I'm so sick of being coddled. Sick of being treated like a child." Her mood grew even more sour as she spoke. "I need power, Pilar. Zhe only vay I can have zhat is if I feed from zhe living." Her face suddenly contorted into a look of confusion, "But who? How do I choose? Do I kill zhem? Do I let zhem live? Do I turn on my friends and take zheir lives? Do I drain zhem dry and leave zheir lifeless corpses to zhe ice and snow? Or do I ask nicely and hope zhey don't condemn me as a monster?" She continues rambling on with more questions pertaining to the 'what ifs' of her possibly feeding from a living victim before lapsing back into that state of rage. "I VANT POWER! I NEED IT!" Her left hand flies away from it's resting spot on her legs, curls into a fist mid-air, and punches the side of the mountain. If it caused her any pain, there was no sign. "I need to be more. I need to be stronger zhan Larewen. Zhan zhese frost giants. Zhan any necromancer zhat dare cross paths vith me!"

Pilar recoiled when Khitti snarled at her, and found herself leaning away as Khitti started going off on her tangent. She made the mistake of trying to answer, until she realized Khitti's questions were completely rhetorical. She started to reach out to touch Khitti's shoulder when she screamed in rage and Pilar jumped, cringing away. "K-Khitti..." Pilar was reminded that this was the woman who had beaten her down when she thought she'd insulted Daer. Khitti was scaring her, again. She didn't like being scared of someone she cared so much about. She didn't like that Khitti was craving power. Nothing good ever came of them. "Please... Let me help you."

Another twitch surges through Khitti's form, a roll of her shoulders following along with the anxious tick that had crept up on her. "Gods, I need it, Pilar. I need to taste zheir varm, heavenly blood. I need to bathe in it. Bask in it. Let it make me whole." Her arms dropped to the ground, her legs laying down against the ground in front of her. Her head lulled from side to side, like a mental patient's as it sat in their lovely padded room. Soon her demeanor takes another turn, another snarl let loose, "And zhey just sit up zhere on zheir asses! Buzzing about like little bees for zheir queen! Busy, buzzy little bees zhat are ripe for zhe taking...I feel like I could drink zhem all and never tire. I'd never be full." With her head tilted back still against the wall, she glares at the mountain itself, both hands curling into fists now. "I could kill zhem all. I could do it. Zhey don't care for me anyway. Zhey zhink I'm a monster. I should show zhem vhat I truly am." Khitti didn't hate any of those people, and Pilar would know that, but the way some of the folk at the war camp acted around her, the hesitance because they know she uses the dark arts, well it didn't sit right with Khitti. Those feelings came out now in her hungered words, another angry growl and a fists hitting the ground close behind in accompaniment.

Pilar shook slightly. Was this who Khitti really was? A violent woman who contemplated mass murder? No, no, it couldn't be. But what could she do, what could she say to make Khitti remember that? Pilar scooted a little closer to Khitti and wrapped her arms around her, silently.

Khitti recoiled somewhat as Pilar wrapped her arms around her, but ultimately let the younger female hold her. Rage was pushed away and fear made it's way through. "Don't let me. Don't let me become like zhem. I don't vant to be like zhem. Zhe gnawing...and clawing...and biting...and eating. Zhey're never full." She turned her body, hands uncurling and moving to place on either side of Pilar's face, to hold her gently, "Don't-don't let me. I don't vant to be a mindless killer. I don't vant to be like zhem. Like Laezila. I can't...but I need it. I need it, Pilar."

Pilar squeezed Khitti. "I will do whatever I can to keep you safe and sane... But you must try, too. You must take care of yourself. Feed from me, and from Daermon. At least until you find someone who will let you feed from them." She looked into Khitti's eyes. "I believe in you. I believe you have the strength to resist becoming a monster. But when it gets to be too much, and you think you can't do it, come to me. I'll help you, however I can. I love you, Khitti."

Khitti shook her head, "No! I von't do it. I'm tired of being a fledgling. I can't. I'm so tired of vondering vhat Daer zhinks of me. Vhat zhe other vampires in Vailkrin zhink of me." She frowns deeply and looks away, still shaking her head as she brings her hands up to her temples. "Zhey're all judging me. Zhey know I'm not a proper vampire. Zhat I don't measure up. I need to feed Pilar...I vanted so much to just drain Dominic dry vhen I saw him. His heart, it beat so vonderfully...it vas like music to my ears..."

Pilar frowned, but didn't let go of Khitti. "I can understand that. I know they all think I'm weak for not feeding... But you should not change who you are just because they don't understand. The ones who don't accept us, they are the ones that hunt and kill." Pilar sighed. "That said, if you want, we will find you a living person who will let you feed. But you must be sure to have someone there. Even I needed guidance to keep from drinking too much, the first few times I fed from someone living. Even though I hate to hurt anyone, I almost couldn't stop." She inhaled. "Or, you can hunt bandits and criminals, those who would be put to death anyway if they were caught by the authorities... You know, Lisbeth might be willing... She gave me blood when I... when I forgot to feed."

Khitti's brow knitted together, a devious grin parting her lips "Zhe criminals...YES. Pilar, you are a genius!" She lets out a giggle of maniacal delight. "Lisbeth? Really? How does frost giant taste? Is it different from human and elf?" Her attention is suddenly taken by the mention of Lisbeth, and the fact that Pilar fed from her. "And vhere should I start? I vould give anything to just set right off into Frostmaw and take out whomever I could..." The vampiress was near salivating as she continued to talk of feeding, that grin never fading.

Pilar was more than a little disturbed by the turn for the maniacal. "Um... she did taste different, yes, but it's... hard to explain. I-I would start by maybe, instead of drinking straight from her, let her fill a cup, like she did for me. Or, we could go down the mountain and look for bounties." Pilar wasn't so sure she wanted to leave Khitti to her own devices, at least until she was a little more calm.

Khitti scrunches up her nose at the mention of Lisbeth filling a cup with her blood. "No...no...zhe criminals...zhe frost giants. ZHE FROST GIANTS, PILAR." She lets out another squeal of delight. "No, no...ve're going to put zhis off. It can't be much longer until ve march on Frostmaw...I'll kill zhem. I'll kill zhem all. Just like I helped kill Baldur!"

Pilar shook Khitti lightly. "Khitti, Khitti, listen to me. You can't kill ALL of them. Some are innocent, forced by Balgruuf. You must let Hildegarde pass judgment. You can't throw away your chances with her for your thirst. And, and you can't wait that long to drink. You're losing yourself. Please, you must feed before then."

Khitti shook her head, "No. I must...I must stay hungry for zhem. Hildegarde only cares about honor. Zheir honor means nothing, Pilar. Zhey had forsaken zhat vhen zhey killed all zhose elves...and catapulted all of zhose bodies." She completely ignores Pilar's warnings. "No...zhey'll get vhat's coming to zhem. I'm going to destroy zhem, Pilar. I'm going to rend zhem limb from limb."

Pilar looked at Khitti desperately. "Khitti, listen to yourself, you're talking like a... a mindless killer. You just asked me to keep you from becoming that. And that's what I'm going to do. If you don't feed tonight, I'll... I'll... I'll tell Hildegarde! She'll never let you join the fight!"

Raiez roars. Maybe. >.>

Khitti's features grow dark as Pilar threatens to tell the Silver of the things she's saying. It was very reminiscent of that day in House Dragana when things suddenly went south for the younger vampiress. She sits up on her knees, attempting to tower over Pilar, dark eyes peering down at her, almost looking through her. She looks like she might...maybe...do something crazy, but then...there's that roar. That familiar roar. Oh gods. It was her. It was HER. Alarms went off in the dark ranger's head, a shrill scream bubbling up from her throat, the expression of fear immediately washing over her. "No...Keep her away from me! KEEP HER AWAY!" Poor, poor crazy Khitti.

Pilar swallowed when she realized she'd incurred the older woman's wrath, and shrank down, putting an arm up as if to shield herself. Then Khitti's eyes grew wide with fright and she screamed. Pilar got up and clutched Khitti protectively, as if there was anything she could do, and looked around for the source of the roar. "Shh, shh, no one will hurt you," she murmured, though she herself was unsure of that.

Khitti's eyes welled up with tears, the salty droplets soon spilling over as she shook in Pilar's arms, "I can't stop her. She von't go away. Zhe...zhe...zhe dragon! She always finds me...she knows vhat I am, Pilar! SHE KNOWS. She's going to tell everyone!" As if Khitti's problems weren't bad enough, Raiez just had to come along and make things worse for here, and also Pilar by association.

Raiez flew about. She didn't ever actually come close to landing near the pair of vampires, but she was circling over both Frostmaw and the Xalious regions. She was, after all, a grand dragon, immense in size, and could fly insane distances with only a few flaps of her wings. But that probably didn't matter to Khitti, who, if the dragon had landed, would have been amusing Raiez to no end with her paranoia.

Pilar spotted the large dragon overhead and tightened her hold. "You'll be okay. You're a, you're a good person. Nothing anyone says can change that." She kissed Khitti's temple. "You'll show them. She can say whatever she wants, but you'll show them how good and strong and courageous and beautiful you are."

Khitti isn't really all that phased as Pilar kisses her and tries to comfort her. "No no no no no." Then she got a whiff of the dragon as she lowers her altitude a bit, making her way down to the vampires. "No! Keep her away from me!" She backs away from Pilar, crawling across the ground, "No. I von't let her near." And then, Khitti does something she really shouldn't. Lithe fingers sink deep into the snow, digging into the dirt beneath, a purple glow seeping from beneath, necromantic energy flowing through the ground. Just what was she doing? It was curious considering the fact that Pilar had never before seen her doing such a thing.

Pilar 's brows furrowed. "Khitti, what--?" She wasn't familiar with all of Khitti's powers, but for some reason, alarm bells were going off. "K-Khitti, calm down, let's go back to the camp, we'll be safe there," she pleaded.

A lightning storm started to surge overhead, but there was something off about it. Something erratic. Something arcane. It flared for a few moments, long enough for Khitti's spell to start, and then it just...stopped. Without warning, the dragon's shadow began to grow once more, but it did not circle around, this time. No, it was headed straight for the pair of women. However, from the size of the shadow and the actual size of the dragon, it was going to be a minute before the dragon actually landed.

Thankfully for Pilar, Khitti could not, in fact, raise the dead right now. Hell, she hasn't been able to do it at all properly. But right now, at this very moment, it only served as a beacon. What usually was like a bright light in dark places for the undead that had sought her out twice in Vailkrin now doomed the dark ranger with the oncoming storm that was Raiez. Once again, her magic failed her thanks to her lack of feeding. Once more, she was completely powerless. If only that damned bard was here, she might've been able to do something. With a frustrated scream, she retracts her hands from the dirt only for her to then punch the ground a few times, not yet quite aware of what she'd done to herself as the Blue got closer.

Pilar looked from Khitti up to the descending dragon and positioned herself between her and Khitti, as if Raiez couldn't rip the petite vampire apart with her mighty claws. "It'll be okay... It'll be okay..." she said, though whether she was talking to Khitti or herself was up for debate.

What landed was...not the dragon. Thud. Thud. Thudthudthud. Thudthud. Thud...Thud. Nine bodies hit the ground, none of them dead, but all of them bound and gagged. A few of them had the sense of mind to look pleadingly at the pair of women, begging to be released. But then came another body, one not bound, one that landed upon one knee, a fist to the ground and an arm outstretched. Brilliant red hair hung down over his face, obscuring his features, but the strangest part about the man was the absence of a shirt - or any winter clothing for that matter - and his mere presence sent the bound people into a panic. Soon after came a flowing wave of lightning, a blinding, billowing cape that dissipated to reveal a six foot tall, tailed, and scaled woman. Quick enough the redhead was on his feet and stormed right over to Khitti. "Will you cut that-" Well, that was certainly a string of words that were not at all kosher to use in the presence of women, "-magic out? I was having fun up there and you went and interrupted me!" Raiez, for her part, just went sauntering up to the irate redhead and put a hand soothingly on his chest, a grin on her lips. "Calm down, pet. You know how you get when you get riled. Things wind up dead. And crispy."

Khitti's eyes widened as first the bodies drop, then the red-head with his superhero landing, and then...then...SHE appears. Her line of sight darts to Raiez, then to the squirming victims, then to the dragon, then to the red-head, then back to the poor, tied up souls. Quickly she scrambles up off the ground, away from Pilar, and over to the feast that awaits her. "No no no no no...NOT NOW!" She finds the closest one and bares her fangs, snarling softly as she pulls the human close, "No, I'm not going to let her get me!" Without hesitation, Khitti sinks her fangs in the nameless victim's neck, drinking it's life force deeply and without plans on stopping anytime soon.

Pilar shrieked, "Khitti!!!" and rushed over. The victim's screaming was muffled by the gag, but it was obvious they were in a lot of pain. Pilar couldn't just wrench Khitti off the human, though, lest she tear the poor person's throat out. Pilar was nearly panicking as she tried to figure out how to save the human. "Khitti, stop!" she screamed, tears coming to her eyes. "Please, Khitti, stop!!!"

The redhead just stood there watching Khitti, his mouth agape. That was -his- food! Fists clenched and he tapped his foot on the ground, but Raiez was not at all phased by it. She walked forward, putting herself in front of the redheaded vampire and between himself and the feeding woman, her head cocked in curiosity. It was a sight to behold, truly. She had never witnessed a feeding quite so brutal, even from her pet. And there was something else, something beyond the normal senses ability to detect. Something that was pulling at Raiez's intrigue with great gusto.

Khitti's power flared as she fed ravenously. She somehow manages to leave the human with barely a drop of life, letting it cling to the living world. Blood drips down her chin as she draws in an unneeded breath, as if doing so as a vampire for the very first time. She tosses the body to the side, grinning darkly as she pushes at Pilar, then moves on to the next victim. The red-head and his tantrum is completely ignored, as well as Raiez's stare.

Raiez watched, enthralled, as Khitti went about her feeding. She wondered if all fledgelings were like that upon their first taste of blood. The dragon moved over to Pilar and put a hand on the youngling's shoulder, a smirk on her lips. "Let the girl feed," she nearly purred, wanting to see how far the blood would take the dark ranger's power. The other redhead, however, was livid. He sulked over to where the drained fellow was and glared down his nose at the guy, disgust on his face. She let the thing live. That wouldn't do. Up went a foot clad in dark armor before it slammed down to crush the bound man's skull. There would be no surviving victims.

Khitti paused, if ever so briefly as Pilar yells at her, looking to her fellow foreigner as Raiez tells the illusionist to let her feed. The dragon...was helping her? That temporarily feral heart of hers jumped for joy as she dug into her next meal, Amarrah's necromantic aura growing in size as Khitti's strength was returned to her and then some. The ending of the life that she had left before was felt as the male stomps the human's head in. It's almost taken as a cue to do the same, as her next victim is drained of it's blood in it's entirety.

Pilar shrank away from Raiez's touch, then shrieked in horror as the redhead messily ends a life. She was crying freely now, so lost as to what to do. "Khitti..." she sobbed, before screaming as loud as she could.

Pilar shouted, "Help! Someone, please, help!"

Raiez was unconcerned about the turn of events as Khitti went about her feeding and Pilar began shouting for help. After all, she was a dragon, and she cared nothing for anyone that would come to investigate. The redhead, however, looked to Pilar with alarm and hatred in his eyes. They were so near to Frostmaw, and Frostmaw was in a civil war. He fully expected the rebellious frost giants to come storming in at any moment. Instead, what came rushing to investigate a few moments later were not giants at all, but elves armed with bows and swords. That took the bare-chest vampire by surprise. Surely the war wasn't over already? No, it must mean that progress had been made. Raiez, too, took note of the coming elves and gently nudged Khitti, a nudge that took shape in the form of a foot to the arse. "Might want to make yourself presentable."

Khitti blinks out of her blood reverie as Pilar screams for help. Tearing her canines from the now dead human as she's literally kicked on her backside, a snarl leaving her lips. "God damn it, Pilar! Vhat zhe hell are you doing?!" She wipes the blood from her mouth and moves to close her hand over Pilar's parted lips. "You can't be zhat stupid. Please tell me you're not!", she hissed out angrily. Looking to the bitey, murderous male, she frowns deeply, crimson brows knitting together. She studied him now, in the time it took for the elves to show up, the gears in her head turning. Oh she remembered, moreso now that she had fed, her mind very much her own again. "You. You need to leave. Now." She didn't care at this point that he was obviously much stronger and older than her. Now, wasn't the time to really think about that. "Consider zhe zhings you've done and zhe fact you've gone missing for some time. Now zhink about how zhe people from Hildegarde's camp is coming and how zhey might react to you being here." The dark ranger was still certainly upset about events that had taken place that included a certain bard, but once again, not wasn't the time to discuss such things. "-Go- and ve vill handle zhis."

The redhead stared at both Khitti and Pilar for a moment, even with those elves closing in. His eyes focused on the latter for a moment as he spoke, his voice dripping with venom. "When first we met, I would never have suspected you were such a sniveling coward. You are a shame to our kind." And then his eyes settled on Khitti, and it was there that his eyes lingered until the last possible moment for him to speak. "You and I shall meet again, O Queen of Spiders. I'm sure the dragon knows why I say such." And with that he turned and fled, but he did not go down the normal means of traversing down the mountain. No, he just turned and ran towards the cliff's edge...and jumped. Crazy bastard. Raiez moved past both other women as the redhead made his escape, just in time to be greeting with a call of, "What's going on here? There was a cry. Speak!" The warriors of the warcamp looked from Pilar to Khitti, both known figures of Hildegarde's group, before they leveled on the unknown blue, all eyes narrowing. "What have you done here?!" It was then that one man noticed the two corpses and the other seven bound figures. "Sir!" he called, and soon all those weapons were leveled at Raiez. "Now, now, gentlemen," the mage said with hands held in sight, though a playful grin was sported on her lips. "There is nothing to stir such alarm happening. That one there," she motioned towards Pilar," just got spooked, was all. I dropped my cargo by mistake, you see. Criminals all." The weapons did not lower.

Pilar continued to cry, breath hitching in her throat as she ducked away from Khitti. "I-I-I n-needed to s-s-stop you..." she stammered out between sobs. "L-L-Look at what you've done!"

Khitti glared at the male as he said the words 'Queen of Spiders' and then took his leave. Oh, she was going to kill him for that. One day. It was definite now. As the elves approach and Raiez is the first to be interrogated, Khitti nudges her in the ribs as she pulls her hand away from her mouth, whispering softly enough that the illusionist could hear but hopefully not the elves, "For zhe love of zhe gods, play along, Pilar. Compose yourself." Once the words are hissed out, a smirk lines Khitti's lips, her attention flitting towards the dragon woman and the pointy-eared scouts, "Zhey're criminals from zhe village down below. I vas down here practicing my magic away from everyone and it just so happened to be at zhe wrong time. Two of them died on zhe vay down. Broke zheir necks it seems." The smirk shifts into a frown, hoping her lack of skills in diplomacy wasn't showing through at the moment, "'Tis a sad zhing, but zhey vere to be executed anyway."

Pilar bit her lower lip hard enough to draw blood. She managed to stop her crying, but just barely. She took one glance at the corpse with a smashed skull and knew the elves wouldn't buy it. And how could Khitti just let these people die when they ddin't know a thing about them? They could be completely innocent. But she couldn't contradict them, she just couldn't. She just nodded her head.

The leader of the group stepped forward, his sword leveled with Raiez's throat. "Who was that man that leapt over the cliff? How is he expecting to survive that fall? Why is that man's head crushed in? Who are you? Why are you even near Frostmaw?" The questions came rapid fire, the man clearly seeking to throw the Blue for a loop, but she kept her wits about her. "He is a friend of mine, and he expects to survive the fall the same way he expected to survive leaping from my back while airborne." That brought a confused look to the elf's face. "The man's head is crushed in from his fall. His neck did break, but we did not realize the extent of his injuries when we went to check on him. When we tried to move him, his head collapsed like that, and the jagged shards of bone tore through his face. As for me, I am Raiez Vayne, and I am here because I live in these mountains, not too far south of here. I was circling overhead when my captives fell from my back. I am a dragon, by the by, to answer your unasked, but clearly written on your face question." The mention of her being a dragon had a few of the elves shifting uncomfortably. Perhaps they were wondering whether or not to strike then and fell the beast while she was in a more vulnerable form.

Khitti casts a side glance at Pilar as she thankfully does as she's told. The dark ranger would likely be quite alone again for a time as she can assume Pilar's likely not going to be very happy with her. Again. Regardless of this, she too keeps her thoughts where they should be, at the task at hand. Quick to back up the dragon, but not so quickly as to allude them to the lies that were spilling forth from both Raiez and Khitti's mouth, filling in the blanks where it was needed. "Zhe male vas a vampire. None of us are armed and zhe easiest route to put him out of his misery vas to crush his skull. As for zhe dragon, I know her. She does -in fact- live here. Has for quite some time. She's harmless." That last bit was so not true. She was definitely -not- harmless. But, Khitti wasn't going to tell them that, of course.

Pilar just stood there, trembling slightly and nodding her head. She was concentrating more on not bursting into tears again than lying.

The trembling put the guards on edge. Innocent people didn't worry like that. Innocent people were calm and collected, and spoke when questions were asked. So it was that eyes were narrowed at both Khitti and Raiez. No matter that Khitti was part of Hildegarde's group of fighters, she was now a suspect in the happenings so close to the camp. "You two," the leader of the group said, motioning towards the dragon and the freshly fed vampire, "will come with us for further questioning. Your 'prisoners' will be released." But Raiez had other ideas. A blinding flash of lightning flared into existence where she stood, and afterwards the cliff was far more crowded than it had previously been. The woman was once more in her natural form, and as such she began to scoop up the bound people. "I don't think so," she rumbled, her voice harsh and draconic. With great flaps of her wings she took flight and headed back towards her lair, where she was sure to find that bitey, murdery guy. Naturally, though, her exit was sure to rouse more than a few from the war camp. Oh well. It wasn't her concern, at that point.

As Raiez gathers up what was left of that redhead dude's feast and takes her leave in much the same fashion as he did, Khitti's face contorts into this look of 'What the actual eff.' No, seriously. She's quite a bit pissed now, especially with Pilar, and thankfully she had had her fill of those poor, unfortunate souls' blood or else she might just say to hell with it and kill the elves too. There -had- been an over-abundance of elves and humans of late in the war camp. What's a few to go missing? Especially if there wasn't a family with them to worry? Well, this wasn't the case right now, and Khitti was starting to fail her diplomacy checks with 1s with Pilar's aide. Now was the time for quick thinking. Confrontation wasn't always Khitti's forte and this was no exception, but, she kept it together. She kept in that anger that was flaring thanks to literally EVERYONE screwing up everything for her right now. "Look, zhis has nothing to do vith us. Zhis whole mess is under Xalious jurisdiction, not Frostmaw's and certainly not Hildegarde's and her camp. As a sworn protector of Frostmaw, it's future queen, and it's people, I order you to stand down and return to your post. It's over vith now and I vill dispose of zhe bodies. Zhere's no need for an all out interrogation." Her dark line of sight shifts towards Pilar, narrowing at the younger female, "And, if you had been anywhere near any of zhe battles at all, you vould know zhat Pilar is not meant to be near any sort of action until she's properly trained. Zhat pensiveness mixed vith zhe fact zhat she'd never seen a dragon before has her a bit overwhelmed and quite stressed." She kept calm, her words firm, acting with that slight bit of authority that Hildegarde managed to give her when she allowed Khitti to swear allegiance to Frostmaw.

Pilar cried out when Raiez took her true form, but could only watch helplessly as she gathered up the living prisoners and took off. She flinched away from Khitti's glare and tears started coming to her eyes again. She had never felt more useless, more like a screw-up, than she did then.

The elves eyed Khitti and then Pilar as the younger female burst into tears -again-. Khitti didn't sway in her firm attitude, though her frown did worsen. "Please leave so I can tend to her. You're really only making zhings vorse." The elves really didn't seem like they wanted to deal with the crying girl much, clearly wanting to get back to their posts to keep an eye out for actual danger, i.e. the frost giants. With a silent nod, the leader turns and heads back towards the camp, the others taking off behind them. Once they're gone, Khitti strides wordlessly past Pilar, not actually comforting the girl as she said she would. Instead, she moves to the two bodies. The first with the crushed skull is carefully dragged by one arm and pulled to the edge of the cliff, then promptly kicked off with a booted foot. The second, is treated much the same, though it's skull is also caved in. "For future reference, destroy zhe brain and zhey von't have the possibility of coming back from zhe dead." A lesson perhaps, to be used in times where a funeral pyre could not be held, though nothing more on it is said for the time being. "You vill stay here. You vill calm yourself. You vill meditate. Zhink of zhings. Do vhat you vill. But, you vill not be returning tonight. Not like zhis." She was clearly disappointed in the younger girl, no matter that she was just so close to reaching full madness and Pilar had been trying to help her. "You vill also not be accompanying me vhen I feed. Ever. Is zhis clear?"

Pilar covered her face with her hands and started to sob, sinking to her knees in the snow. She should have been mad at Khitti. She should have yelled at her, told her that she was the one who'd screwed up, she was the one who'd ask Pilar to keep her from becoming a mindless killer, and that Pilar had tried to do just that. She should have yelled at her for letting her hunger reach the level it was at. But all Pilar could think was that she'd failed. "I-I-I-I'm so-so-sorry..." she wailed.

Khitti drew in an unnecessary breath and let it out in a heavy sigh, though it almost sounded more like a growl than anything. She hated when Pilar cried. Hell, she hated when anyone cried. She had no expertise on trying to console a person, even if this person was one of the closest people to her. The only emotions that ever registered with her was her own. Silent steps bring her in front of Pilar, the vampiress bending over in front of her, a hand moving to her chin to raise her line of sight to Khitti's. "Stop. Stop all of zhis. Stop it now. I'm so sick of zhis. It's bad enough I have to deal vith my own issues, I can't deal vith everyone else's. Vhy zhe hell do you zhink I vorry so much? Just stop it. You vill never get stronger unless you vant to." Of course, the same could be said about Khitti. A smirk forms as she thinks on her own words, the redhead straightening her back and spinning away from Pilar, "Hildegarde vill not hear a vord of zhis, Pilar. Do not disappoint me." With that, she takes down the side of the cliff in the direction of Kelay, though not quite so much in the haphazard way that the bitey male had when he exited stage left.

Pilar looked through a screen of tears at Khitti. She tried to stop crying, but the tears kept coming and she kept whimpering. She remained sitting in the snow, crying for the remainder of the night.
