Summary: Magik visits Meri at the museum and the couple plan out several hunts together at the request of Nikola.

Adventurer's Guild Museum

Meri wouldn't be within sight, she almost never is when she is puttering around the museum under the guise of being a productive guild leader. Meri's got an office here, you see, the decor of which is a bit ostentatious for what one might expect of Meri...but it is Museum, and the blonde has never gotten around to redecorating this space. Magik would have to look around to find Meri, or ask the guard at the entrance that he'll likely have to deal with...which is probably the easier option. Whatever option Magik takes, Meri will be in her office, at her desk...wait is her nose actually in a book? You mean she CAN read?

Magik was definitely going to give the guard a hard time for the hell of it but since this trip was Meri's idea, the elf plays nice. He is very polite to the guard, even busting out the Veneficus D'Chath of the Mage's Guild line for the fellow. Once he's cleared by the guard he follows his directions towards Meri's office. First, a quick look about the museum at the entrance, "Hmm. Yes. This is definitely a museum. Interesting." When is this elf ever not sarcastic? Anyways. Meri's office. Two knocks follow a, "Boyce? Ms..Boyce?"

Meri could make a list of times that she has encountered a very not sarcastic Magik, but she won’t. She’s not a snitch and those moments are between them. What happens next is entirely all Magik’s fault, he started this. See, Meri was definitely being productive up until this moment. That book she was reading was like an encyclopedia of creatures, currently on the leviathan page...And on her desk were maps and drawings. She was planning something, that was obvious. All of that is going to have to wait though, because the blonde is going to have to do her best to keep a smirk from forming across her red lips. The woman doesn’t rise from her desk, but she does put the book down on it so that she can stare at the elf. “Yes…? That’s me.” The blonde is just going to pretend like she doesn’t know Magik. “Is there something that I can help you with?”

Magik takes a step into the office, "I seem to be lost..Am..I in the hot mom's lounge because.." The elf smirks, "Maybe you can show me the way to the mus--," He then takes notice of the maps and book and drops the brief role play immediately, "...What...are you.." He eyes his woman carefully, "..planning? Studying..?" What he really wanted to do was walk behind Meri's desk to peer over her shoulder to see what she has gathered but that would rude to do immediately.

Meri tries her best to keep that smirk hidden but she fails. Meri will also let their current game go, she’s pretty set on getting in the cheeky last word before she gives in to Magik’s curiosities. The door to her office shuts itself. It’s not slammed shut, but there is enough movement that Magik will at least here an audible click. “No. You’re stuck in the hot mom’s lounge. Maybe I will let you out later, if I am feeling nice.” As for everything on her desk that Magik wants to look at. He’d be welcome to, his woman wouldn’t have found it to be rude, but she’s come to accept that he’s got more manners than she does. So she motions to all the papers on her desk, “There are no secrets here, not from you. I am both planning and studying. Being an artist doesn’t really pay the bills…I’ve usually got my hand in some other side job, some more public than others. These? Are hunts that someone wants to pay the guild for. A leviathan. A firebird. And a wyvern.”

Magik absolutely wiggled his eyebrows at the appropriate time just before laughing. He does make his way behind Meri's desk. "Hi." After a peck to her cheek, he presses his cheek against hers to get a good look at her paperwork and such, "Hmm..What's a leviathan? And do you mean firebird as in a phoenix?" Before Meri can answer, she gets a quick lick to her cheek before the Lyastri can retreat to behind her chair. With a hand on each shoulder, he's getting more of a bird's eye view of her work at this point.

Meri grins, both because of Magik’s affections and because he is using them as a means to eye that paperwork more. The elf does amuse. Magik won’t have Meri sitting in the chair in front of him for long though if only because it felt weird to sit while Magik stood. Sure, he could probably help himself to that seat across from her, but that also felt formal. So she’d stand with him while they discussed everything on her desk. She points to the book she was reading after flipping to a page that has a drawing over a leviathan. Magik is going to be looking at a picture of a very large sea serpent that could probably eat Meri alive in one bite. “A leviathan.” Red lips are pressed together momentarily, “A phoenix, yes, is one of them. A bit challenging to kill them though, no? Plus, it did cross my mind...that maybe my fellow might have a soft spot for that firebird in particular….But, gold is gold...And a benu is also a type of a firebird, so I was going to go after one of those instead.” Meri wrinkles her nose up, “Those are all the easy details. The hard part has been getting people to hunt with me. I was hoping maybe Aira from the Ranger’s guild might…”

Magik scoops up the book with the leviathan in it to get a closer look. He gives Meri a side eye, "You might need a whole army to bring this thing down because..yikes." Meri's mention of substituting a phoenix for a benu is dismissed, "If the hunt calls for a phoenix, let's grab a phoenix, babe. Tattoo or not..Gotta do what's needed at times. Obviously, up to you." The book is placed back on the desk as are his two hands. He leans over everything, taking it all in, "Phoenix are incredibly smart.." He moves a couple papers about, carefully of course, just to get a peak of anymore information hiding underneath, "I might know someone who could help us." He finally stands proper and crosses his arms, "I mean, you, or..Us? I don't want to just invite myself.."

Meri nods in agreement without hesitation at Magik’s concern over the leviathan. “I’m going to need a savvy group and a well thought out plan for that one, yes. It wouldn’t be my first encounter with one though…” Meri watches Magik as he places both hands on her desk, giving him free reign to move any paper he wants while he processes this. There are plenty of maps, pictures, diagrams, and tidbits of info of him to take in. “Very smart, yes. And also prone to rising from the ashes, no? Which might make...dismembering them and collecting their wings more challenging than a benu. The hunt only calls for a firebird.” Meri leans in toward Magik as she confirms, “Do you really think I’d care if you did invite yourself? I’m just a little bit infatuated with you, why wouldn’t I want to see you in action on a hunt?” Meri smirks. “In fact. Why aren’t you a Ranger with me yet?” Meri isn’t even going to try and pretend this is her last question of the day, “Which hunt would you like to go on and is there anyone else you think we ought to invite along?”

Magik raises his eyebrows at Meri's mentioning of having came into contact with a leviathan before. He never has. That's going to change. On to the phoenix talk. The elf relaxes a bit, "Fair enough. A benu would definitely be a bit easier to deal with if you are looking to harvest the wings." Once again he grabs up the book with the leviathan but starts flipping through the pages. He leans his rump against Meri's table. "Oh. I mean. I was going to show up anyways, to be honest. The more time I get to spend with you.." He winks then continues to flip the pages to look for a page about wyverns. "Ya know, I did put an application in with the RG but..Here we are..Maybe this..ya know..initiation and such?" Or however it works. Magik finally puts the book down once more and looks to his lady, "Any of them, really. I'll reach out to my old friend, Futsuka. She's also Kara's aunt..or something. She's a great hunter. Sneaky. Deadly shot."

Meri copies Magik, positioning herself so that her backside was also. There is a smirk when he mentions that he was probably going to show up anyway, Meri definitely would not mind. He starts flipping through the pages to try and find a section on the wyverns, but Meri is not entirely sure what he is looking for. It’s not until he locates that section that the blonde lifts a brow. There is another smirk, “Usually that’s what it takes. And I am always happy to meet your friends.” Futsuka was definitely welcome. And at least Meri could get along with Magik’s friends, eh? Since Magik is so interested, Meri’s going to spend a bit more time highlighting her plans. Where she is thinking about hunting what and how. Magik will definitely be armed with all the info to show up to any of the hunts that he wanted. And once they’ve plotted to their hearts content, well dinner is probably at his place tonight, eh?

Magik spends some time going over everything with Meri. Consider it bonding time. Meri can see another side of Magik, the more ranger-like side, planning, strategy, etc. He even writes the letter to Futsuka while they are at it. Does Meri sign too? Up to her. When all is said and done, yes, dinner at the treehouse. Hot tub and drinks as well? Why not..
