RP:Mending a Fighter

From HollowWiki

This is a Healer's Guild RP.

summary Emilia is wandering and happens upon a Reoh with a broken arm after a fight. Unable to ignore the call of a Healer Emi mends the wound for the other without wishing payment, unless it was cold cookies.

Reoh sat on the steps of a shady bar, clutching her arm. Everything had been going fine until that jerk had ripped off her belt. Without it, she'd been easy enough to beat down. At least she got it back, though it was now stuffed into her bag, as the clasp had broken. She tried to move her arm and grimaced. Nope, still wasn't feeling better. Had she broken it? She couldn't afford a doctor! She sighed softly and considered her predicament.

Emilia walked along without much of a care to her direction as her bare feet lead the way. This had gotten her into trouble before, but it had also sent her to a place she was meant to be, thus it was a toss up which she would land herself in this night. The small woman of child size with more curls than figure sported just a summer dress that partly hung off her skin-and-bone body, she was no fighter that was bluntly obvious. Walking past Reoh she almost kept going where it not for the grimace she made just before vanishing from the healer’s sight. Stopping she walked backwards until she was standing before the fighter, “Everything alright with your arm? I can take a look if you’d like. I’m the co-leader to the Healer’s Guild so I am not some crazyperson out to rob you, promise.”

Reoh blinked up at Emilia, then, with her good arm, reached into her bag to grab a small notebook and pencil. Her good arm was, sadly, her right arm, and she was a lefty. She struggled for almost a full minute to legibly write something down. She showed the notebook to Emilia. "cant hear. did u need something"

Emilia would feel like a jerk the moment Reoh began writing in her notebook to reveal that she was unable to hear after Emilia talked to her like she was hearing folk like everyone else she’d met. Digging into her pocket of her dress the Genasi pulled out the small book she carried with her and flipped it open to where she’d left off with some sketches and wrote back to the other, “You’re arm, is it okay? I am a healer and can take a look at it for you.”

Reoh carefully wrote her reply. "hurts. think its broken. no money for healing. but thanks." The fermin felt embarrassed to admit that she was currently struggling with poverty, but what could she do? Use the healer for her skills and not reimburse her? That was wrong!

Emilia scribbled a reply, “I am second in command of the Healer’s Guild and your arm if broken needs tended or you could end up forever crippled with that arm. Let me fix it and you can repay the favor later with a meal when you have some spare time.” There was a gentle smile on those lips of the white woman.

Reoh hesitated. Was Emilia being truthful? Would she really be willing to postpone payment? She wasn't used to people being so nice to her. The fermin looked down at her own notebook for a moment before she wrote. "okay. thank u."

Emilia smiled softly, “If you can bake cold cookies I’d love you forever.” was sketched on the paper before she sat it down so that she could free her hands. With her hands free she moved to take a look at her arm with careful hands that were colder than ice to the touch. A gentle touch as he felt over the area where she seemed to have the most trouble and was able to confirm it was a break. Grabbing her notebook she wrote again, “Yes, Broken. I can set it and splint it or if you are okay with it I can heal it with magic and speed it. You choose.”

Reoh shivered. She hadn't expected her to be so... so cold. Was she even... human? She looked human, except for her coloring. She considered Emilia's offer, then wrote down her answer. "magic please." She needed her arm to make a living. She would have to look up how to make bake cold cookies, though she wasn't sure why they had to be cold, or how to even go about it. Oh well. A dilemma for another day.

Emilia could not deny the request of the injured other since she did offer her the choice on the matter. One more writing, “This will be cold, I am sorry.” Setting aside the book the Genasi placed both hands, much colder than the gentle touch of one hand, on her arm over the break. A light blue-white glow left those mismatched colored hands to wash over the break, sinking in from the sink down. It was a wave of numbing cold magic that settled into the arm, slowly shifting and settling things back into place slowly. When it was all done she would take her hands back to allow the other to warm up again, though she might find a cold spot in her arm where the bone was healed. Sketching, “All better.”

Reoh had never received a magical healing before. The cold almost hurt, but soon her arm went numb. She rubbed the arm to get some warmth and feeling back into it, but she was smiling. She grabbed her notebook and wrote quickly. Her writing was much neater, now that she was using her dominant hand. "Thank you so much! I promise I'll repay you when I can! Where can I reach you? And what is your name? I'm Reoh Rustypelt."

Emilia smiled with a bright smile from ear to ear to see how happy she had made the other with a mending to her arm. Some days that was the greatest joy in her life anymore was to mend the wounds of others. Writing, “I am Emilia, second in command to the Healer’s Guild. I am pretty easy to find. And your smile there is more than enough pay back.”

Reoh grinned and wrote one last reply. "I mean it, thank you so much! I'll figure out those cookies for you, promise! I have to go, but I hope to see you again soon, Emilia."

Emilia smiled and nodded. Writing a last, “Reach me if you are ever in need of a mend. And please invite me to the next show. Take care of yourself.”
