RP:Magic Mutation Experiment 01: Xzavior

From HollowWiki

Cove

Xzavior sat along the shore with Leifa at his side curled up and sleeping. He twirled a white rose in between his fingers still wondering what it meant for him. tossing it aside he laid on his back with his hands under his head and just stared at the sky.

Although the cove was a peaceful place, the weather in a harmonious existence here alone in comparison to the roil beyond. This changed though when a swirling of salt water carried its way into the cove, skating across the surface of the water towards the center of the tranquil place to only grow in strength. Droplets pelted the nearby area before it exploded outwards wit ha dome of force pushed outwards from within sending it as a single misty descent over anyone and everything nearby. Where it was Desparrow now stood, having come here in search of something, or someone. His body was damaged, patches of skin missing and where it was normally thinnest; the knuckles and elbows, the skin had been sloughed away right to the bone giving the lycanthrope a gruseome appearance. The cuts on his body had been fixed by a healer, but still he was an odd sight. It wasn't long that his cerulean gaze rested on Xzavior, the one whom claimed to have cryomancy powers. "hmm."

Xzavior closed his eyes as he went to rest, letting the rolling waves and mist relax him until Liefa popped up her head and turned in the direction of Desparrow. After Leifa gave a small growl Xzavior leaned up and placed a hand on her head, "What's up li- Woah Des what happened to you?" Coming to a stand Xzavior gave him a concerned look as he moved closer, Leifa hovering at his side. "Seriously, you look like you've been ripped to shreds."

Desparrow shrugged, swiping his hair back sending droplets flying back behind him and his hair sticking up at funny wet angles. While chuckling he answered Xzavior's question, "Just got into a fight is all, most of this is my own doing. Immeasurable, irresistable power, all consuming with extreme prejudice against everything. Before I let it completely absorb me I released my spell but I had already lost a bit. even destroyed my own armor." he continued to laugh, not about to show off what he was talking about again. Just too dangerous.

Xzavior raised a brow at his explanation, "What were you fighting to have to use that much power? Dragons?" Shaking his head he grinned, "Any how, you're in one piece. Good to see you again." Leifa made a small warbling noise and hid herself behind Xzavior intimidated by both Desparrow's presence and his look. Twisting to face her he chuckled and grabbed her in his arms, "Hey you're fine Des here is friendly, though harmless would be a stretch." He gave Desparrow a joking grin.

Desparrow thought for a moment, "I've fought a dragon before, took one right out of the sky and didn't even have to use a spell. Though this magic, was simply against another mage that thought he would outdo me, I was ready to kill him if necessary to stifle his arrogance." he spat at the ground in anger. His face softened when he looked at Xzavior's pet wyvern, "Hello there. Aren't you a cute little creature." he sighed, offering his gaze back to the other one. "Yeah, I'm not necessarily harmless, but I'm peaceful. What brings you here?"

Xzavior shrugged shifting Leifa in his arms, "Nothing really, I travel to relax and I like to search for the most secluded and scenic looking places. Today's been... quite hectic to say the least. There is some Fermin trouble going on in Larket, we spent all day discovering that they've been using their own blood mixed with snake and spider venom to poison people and early this morning a man gave me a white rose after a very peculiar encounter." As he started to recall his day Leifa stretched to give the lycan a sniff tilting her head curiously, "And that mage's name wouldn't happen to be Diryon would it?"

Desparrow was hardly alarmed by hearing of fermin trouble in Larket. Though it wasn't his concern perhaps he'd look into it. "I see.. interesting." he couldn't help but laugh when Diryon was mentioned though, "Yes.. yes his name was in fact Diryon. Arrogant little punk." the lycanthrope began to pace, thinking about the encounter last night and how Diryon stated he could easily conjure up something similar to what Des had. Impossible! The thought that the measly mage could equal the other in power was absurd! He had trained his entire existence, and had knowledge that preceeded generations of his family's lineage. How could a pipsqueak know more! Infuriated now he let loose an enraged howl at the night. A deep breath followed and he was able to look at Xzavior once more with a bit of peace. "Yes.."

Xzavior raised a brow at Desparrow's sudden rage as Leifa shrunk in his grasp, "I can't really say that I am surprised. He and I had our own match, the one that I said nearly burned down a section of the sage forest. And I have to agree, he has a big head on his shoulders. The only reason he held out was because he could melt the ice as fast as I could create it. Though if it were a life or death situation I'm more then certain there would be an ice sculpture to decorate the forest. But seeing as this is a touchy topic let's move on shall we? Though I know you live close by what brings you here?"

Desparrow grinned widely, hearing out the other's story before he stuff his nose in the air, "Why am I here? I caught your scent. Unnatural amonst the salty air." Another pass of air from his lips and he took a seat on the cool sand. "Magic is my life, and this town is my home. There is a growing threat here, a mermaid with water powers and she wants to destroy this city. I'm preparing for a battle against her."

Xzavior joined him sinking into his coils while giving him a questioning look, "A mermaid? What would a mermaids reason be for destroying Cenril?" He'd heard only rumors of their existence and the last time was technically centuries ago. Xzavior looked towards the ocean furrowing his brow, "You're not just messing me are you?

Desparrow shook his head, "I wish I was. You would find a lot of silly things exist here. Creatures like me. I wasn't always a lycanthrope. In fact my family originally was created by an ancient being to basically alter religion in our favor, however over time, generations pass and they became natural here. I'm the product of that. I'm technically not from here even though I was born here. Regardless, yes a mermaid hydromancer wants to wipe out and claim the land of Cenril for herself."

Xzavior hummed in thought over what he was told, "You're kinda right, I really shouldn't be surprised at what exists around here. Just look at me! A race dedicated to war only to have the god who created us think us too powerful for our time." Still looking out at the ocean he let Leifa go who then made tentative steps towards Desparrow, "Have you got any plans on how to stop this mermaid? I highly doubt it will be an easy task given that she is using magic that controls her home practically."

Desparrow didn't make a move for the wyvern, instead allowing it to advance towards him at its own pace with no interruptions. "I have a bit of a plan, but the fact is I know so little about my enemy I have a very broad assortment of preparations in place." Des looked out to sea, "It won't be easy, but I'll manage."

Xzavior furrowed a brow and looked at his hand for a moment, "I could help. If anything just to try and stop the waves. I heard the cold doesn't mix too well with water when it gets low enough." He gave a grin as he watched Leifa close the distance and nudge Desparrows hand with her snout and making a few chittering noises, "Her name's Leifa by the way."

Desparrow stroked Leifa's snout, rubbing it back and forth and stroking along the spines of her body when he got low enough. "Just don't bite or poison me. Silly creature." it wasn't a threat, but stated more jokingly. Wyverns. Such dragon imitators. "If you happened to be present, If anything I will probably need more help dealing with the guard than the woman herself. I have a few allies, I just want the people safe. I can handle the mermaid I think. I don't know what extent of control she has over water but hopefully only enough I can contend with." he chuckled.

Xzavior :: Leifa gave a throaty purr at his attention and leaned into his hand as her tail wiggled back and forth. Xzavior gave a nod the small grin still on his face, "Whatever I can do, I will. This place is too nice and a lot of innocent people hang in the balance over what I can only assume is a feeling of entitlement. It's annoying really. When people think they deserve only the best when they haven't done a single thing to earn it."

Desparrow nodded his head from side to side weighing the idea that perhaps Zirael did think she just deserved the beach and the city. "Yeah she could be looking to just own everything. A lot of people she wants dead, that don't deserve to die. I don't want the culture here to die with her act of vengeance. If you will be here, then certainly I'll take all the help I can get. It'd be appreciated." he continued to strok teh wyvern. "good girl."

Xzavior chuckled and joked, "Soft spot for cute things?" giving a small shake of his head he turned to Desparrow, "Other then working at the sick bay I don't really do anything, the only reason I wouldn't attempt to help is if we found the Fermin and are driving them out. I'm sure if it was my shift at the time Artia wouldn't care, in fact I think she would help if that wasn't her plan already." Leifa continued to let Des pet her for a while before pulling away and giving a happy chirp noise and giving his hand an ice cold lick before retreating back to Xzavior's lap.

Desparrow took the lick, ignoring the cold shock from it. "Good girl." he stood back up to face Xzavior. "interesting. If I wasn't so busy I'd certainly help you with your city's going ons. Seems like the world is just taking a s***, chaos rising everywhere. Its exciting. I feel the cloth of reality rippling with change. It is.. refreshing. A change to the boring same old." he laughed inside, it was perfect, the time he could take advantage of releasing the evil in him by getting away with working in the shadows. "Like I said, you are welcome to assist us." he offered a kind smile then.

Xzavior closed his eyes for a moment and tilted his head back, "What the hell, why not. I was born to see new things so why pass the chance to see something I might only get a chance to see once." Des's grin was unsettling but he would have to trust that Desparrow wasn't going to trick him in any way. Placing Leifa to the side with a quick word he stood and faced the lycan, "Shall we then?"

Desparrow loved this part. "Alright." he walked up to Xzavior but this time Des left eye was glowing bright violet. It was swirling with intense magical energy. With it he could see between the layers of reality. Placing his hand over that eye he created a temporary replica and then placed it over Xzavior's own eye. It took seconds but after blinding flashes of light into that same eye it would transfer over and give him the ability to see the flow of magic in the world. He could see the cloth of fate, how it moved, but to see des would be like staring into a sun for his existence was nearly entirely magical. The flow was incredible. This spell would persist for a considerable amount of time.

Xzavior prepared himself as best as he could as Des placed a hand over his eye but was still not fully for what he would see. Clenching his fists as the flashing began and the magic coursed through his eye, he loosened as he saw exactly what Desparrow was able to see on a daily basis. It was... undescribable. His free eye widened but he remained silent throughout the entire process, squinting involuntarily as he saw Desparrow's entity.

Desparrow couldn't help it. He knew Xzavior would be shocked, being able to see as Des was able to even just for a little while. As it persisted he made another offer. "Would.. you like to have a taste of my power? A little gift, a small amount of my power that will grow and become your own?" He smiled, it was genuine but it had an underlying sinister cruelty. What purpose would it serve that he gives power to others? Oh it would serve him in the end, as research value. "What say you?"

Xzavior ran it through his mind multiple times thinking of all the possibilities both good and bad this had to offer. He was tempted, very tempted. But he didn't know if he could really accept it. He was about to decline when a single thought passed his mind. A memory to be exact. The reason he was who he was now. His face growing serious he closed he looked Desparrow in the eyes, "I haven't known you for log but I have a pretty safe assumption on how you work. Would it be fair that I ask what the catch would be or is this a take it as is situation?"

Desparrow rose a brow, he didn't expect the man to actually ask. Out of nowhere he started giggling, hopping up and down as he paced. "Yes! Yes!" his finger was pointing at Xzavior. "I respect an intelligent man! So for you and only you! I will let you know exactly my intentions." He stated pacing now back and forth rapidly, chin grasped between forefinger and thumb with eyes locked on the ground. Moments would pass before his head snapped up and his face lit as if enlightened by an idea. "I give you a little bit of my power, and in my presence, it resonates, gives off wavelengths, responds to me. It grows in you, over time becomes one with you in a manner that I am a single being. You become a more solid magical being and the seed I place in you blossoms into various powers. I don't know what powers.. BUT! when they mature, I research you, and maybe harvest a bit of it..." This probably sounded like the ramblings of a madman, but he was completely honest. "An experiment, improving. Creating mutation! Controlling evolution!"

Xzavior shut his eyes and looked as if he was in serious thought, "So, you plan on using me as a sort of incubator of magic so that you can later alter so much more." He opened his eyes and looked at Desparrow, "I don't think you're plotting the destruction of the world or committing mass genocide. So other than being used as a test subject..." A devilish grin passed his face, "I see no downside. And you know, I've always loved a good science experiment!"

Desparrow couldn't believe it! No he didn't plot the destruction of the world, simply the acceleration and control of evolution! "Stay still!" he held out his right arm and Xzavior would be able to see it with greater ease with that eye that was still active. Ribbons of pure ether sloughed away from Des' form, exuded from the pores and rapidly coalescing into a small sphere. With the clenching of his fist it condensed into a seedlike form. It levitated over his palm as he advanced towards the other. "I'm going to press it into your heart. In my presence it will expand into your blood and flow throughout your body rapidly. May not be noticeable at first, but be careful. Others may not be so eager of my progressive way of thinking. I'll want to regularly check up on you." he pressed that 'seed' into his chest and it sank through the flesh so long as there were no second thoughts. Xzavior would first feel an immense energy inside of him but that would pass and over time it would become natural.

Xzavior was not one to go back on his word. Watching the 'seed move towards him with interest he gave a shudder as the alien sensation flooded his body, he felt so invigorated! Like he could run for miles on end without stopping then continuing by swimming through the ocean. Taking deep breaths to keep his composure he asked, "So you said controlling evolution, what exactly are you going for there? Everything seems fine as it is."

Desparrow shrugged, "What if you developed the power to create and control fire, or turn invisible, phase through pocket dimensions to anywhere you wanted to go? What if you gained the power to say fly? Or gained some sort of bodily mutation? And then your children acquired these inherently without the use of my power. Born with alterations. you are my first experiment. I will take care to nurture you and see what you develop. If it is bad or good, we can harvest it, like a clipping and or if you don't like ti we can slough it away completely and I'll bottle it. When you no longer want the power, well I'll take it back, in a matured state and claim your powers for my own. If you aren't satisfied in the end." he chuckled, yes he was crazy, and wasn't about to say he wanted to perfect a way of creating an army of specifically enhanced monsters to battle for him.

Xzavior shook his head but wasn't disagreeing with what Des was saying, "Bodily mutations and flying I can live without thanks. But this should be a very interesting experience, it'll be fun to see what new tricks I'll be able to pull of in time." He chuckled and added, "Hey, I guess I solved my issue with being unable to learn more then one practice!"

Desparrow nodded, "My power will mature in you, opening all manner of doors for you. We will see what happens in time. What sort of, interesting developments take place." he chuckled, not knowing what will happen, but it will be watched closely. It was his magic that was in Xzavior, he would know where he was when he was nearby, and when nearby that magic in the other would grow, blossoming into something beautiful. Xzavior was Mutation experiment One. How exciting.
