Part of the Thy Kingdom Come Arc

Summary: Running into Xzavior at the Blood Fountain, Hildegarde meets his wyvern friend and chats to him about The Eyrie as well as the current state of Frostmaw. Xzavior shows interest in the Eyrie, but more importantly vows to help the Silver in reclaiming Frostmaw.

Blood Fountain

Hildegarde had left the castle with the intent of taking a stroll, perhaps inquiring if there were some sort of library she could visit. Knowledge was power, after all, and she was so rarely in Vailkrin that she might as well make the most of her time. She wandered around, read a little, embarked on finding some lunch that wasn’t vampire orientated and finally came to a halt at the Blood Fountain. An ominous structure, she thought, but a marvellous one nonetheless. It spouted blood and surely that could only be a good thing for the people of Vailkrin: the ones who needed blood to live. But then, she wondered, how did the blood exit the fountain? Where did the fountain get the blood? The Silver stood there, staring at the fountain in thought.

Xzavior was just about to leave the area after helping Shishi and his son clean up the place, along with a wyvern hatchling that rode on his tail. He had came out here originally to just get Leifa out of the house and for most part that was a success. A quick drop by the Hanging Corpse on the way back for something to drink and be off to Ara to check on Sabrina. He looked back at Leifa who started sniffing around the air and when he looked up he saw Hildegarde and a grin crossed his face. He felt kinda bad that he was making Sabrina wait a bit longer but it has been a while and he needed some updates. "Hello again Silver. How have the days been treating you?" Though as soon as he approached her he wondered if she would bring up the last time they saw each other.

Hildegarde turned once she heard someone approach, spotting the familiar face of Xzavior. “Ah, hello, Xzavior,” she greeted politely, glancing at the hatchling with a little smile. A curious little beast by the looks of it! “The days treat me just fine. I hope to leave for Frostmaw soon. Reclaim my land,” she told him, knowing that her days in Vailkrin had come to an end. “And how have you been?”

Xzavior idly messed with the moonstone on his wrist, a sort of tic that he had grown accustom to having since getting the vambrace, and smiled in kind, "I've been very great," He stopped himself though and straightened up a bit, "That is actually why I wanted to talk to you though, I haven't heard a word about anything happening in Frostmaw for some time now. Is there anything new I should be aware of or even help with for that matter?" Even though he was a bit serious Leifa had other plans. She could smell her old home on the woman and instantly padded up to Hildegarde to give her a sniff, then warbled happily as she was able to find someone outside of Frostmaw who has been there other then Xzavior himself. Her actions made him chuckle, breaking his serious demeanor, "Oh, and this is Leifa. She found me one day and took a nap with me next to a fire."

Hildegarde shook her head, “I do not have a great deal of news from inside the city,” she explained, “but events occurred in Larket that will no doubt unsettle the giants,” she said. Of course, by now, Leifa was warbling happily after having sniffed at her! Hildegarde dropped down into a crouch to extend her hand out to the hatchling, “A fire? No good for an ice wyvern,” she murmured thoughtfully, “a little burrow of snow is what you need.” The dragon made a noise at the little hatchling, something that can only be described as a more throaty version of a tiger’s friendly chuffing. “A giant tried to slay me in Larket,” the knight says absentmindedly to Xzavior as her hand touched the hatchling gently, “with a poisoned cake no less. Tried to take a hostage. I declared myself intent on returning to Frostmaw as the Queen, not the Steward. He was slain.”

Xzavior wasn't too sure whether to be shocked that someone would try to kill her or not but after hearing that the giant was killed he nodded and gave a fanged grin, "I told you that throne was yours." He thought it was anyways. He didn't know her for long but she really did deserve it. Leifa tilted her head when Hilde made the sound and nuzzled up into her hand much like a cat would, "Oh don't worry, I give her the snow she needs and all that. It was an exceptionally cold night and I believe she had been lost from her clutch at a very young age. She hasn't stopped following me around since." He had grown quite fond of Leifa while she did and it was a sort of on and off thing with her, following him about. "I think I should make a stop by Frostmaw here soon and check out what's going on first hand. Of course I'll be disguised, a naga roaming the mountains isn't a very common sight and I believe I still have that ban on me from entering." He was talking to himself partially thinking of what he would do up there or what even to disguise as.

Hildegarde smiled at little Leifa, rubbing her palm against her head as if scratching the head of a little cat. “She seems happy with you. Befriending a wyvern is no small deed. They are loyal and true to those who befriend them,” she said softly, “and they would put their life on the line for their friends. Though this one is a little too young to be thinking of that just yet!” The Silver paused for a moment, suddenly reminded of The Eyrie. The wyvern could prosper there or at least, she might have all she needed to grow big and strong. “You know, I am part of a group… known as The Eyrie,” it was probably not quite as exclusive or as grand as it had once been, but the knight never cared for such things. “It’s a group of people love animals. Who care for their wellbeing and the bond of trust that develops between man and beast. It’s an organisation that… well, it can help those who cannot fly,” she explained briefly, not entirely sure why she was doing so. Was she recruiting Xzavior? “Hm… That might be an idea, to explore Frostmaw. But I intend to go there soon. I will destroy Balgruuf’s vainglorious attempt at having a fiefdom.”

Xzavior raised a brow when she started talking about her group. "The Eyrie... I don't believe that I've heard of it, but," He crouched down and with a small hiss Leifa reluctantly pulled away from Hilde's hand but when she jumped into Frost's lap he made it up to her by making some snow with a hand for her, who instantly went to go bite at the flakes. "If it is as you said I would like to check it out possibly." He didn't quite know what she meant by helping those who can't fly but he wa sure that would be explained later if she was going to. "I do too. So when you make your march I want to be right on in there as well. It is my and Leifa's home just as any giant who thinks they have claim." He hadn't looked away from the hatchling but he was still as serious as ever.

Hildegarde smiled as Leifa hissed and reluctantly returned to Xzavior’s lap. “She will get bigger soon. She’ll start learning how to fly… then she’ll want you to fly. So you may have to learn the art of flying; riding on the back of a dragon or wyvern,” she explained after watching them for a few moments. It was always endearing to watch those first few months of bonding, when it’s just playful bounding around and constant discovery. “I wouldn’t expect anything less,” she said, offering a smile as he spoke of marching along with her.

Xzavior smiled softly when she started explaining that Leifa would soon want to have him fly and shook his head lightly. "Flying huh? That should be an interesting experience to share." He hadn't thought about having her fly him around anywhere. He hoped she would always be this small and innocent. The world wasn't the nicest and what was going on in Frostmaw was a fine example. He sighed ever so slightly and rubbed some snow in Leifa's face playfully. But then again, he couldn't always be there...

Hildegarde rose to her feet, “I had best be on my way, Xzavior,” she said softly. “I’m sure you and Leifa will enjoy many adventures together!” The wyvern was already loyal to the naga. The dragon had no doubt that the hatchling would be dragging Xzavior into all kinds of trouble or at least nipping at his tail to get in on the trouble.

Xzavior chuckled and scratched Leifa's chin, "We should too. If Leifa ever plans on giving me a ride she's going to need a lot of strength." He was by no means light. Even if he were to shift into a smaller form it didn't account for the weight. "I must say though, you have me interested with the Eyrie group. I would like to find out more about it, if I may." He stood up and gently moved Leifa aside, who then jumped onto his tail and settled down, "But that'll be later. It was a pleasure seeing you again and I look forward to our next encounter." He offered her a bow and Leifa warbled her own farewell. With that he took his leave and waved as he wandered off.
