RP:Lared learns Ty robbed him

From HollowWiki

You the priest is accompanied by a group a ragged street urchins, all known to Ty no doubt, they are wearing colourful neckerchiefs and brandishing shiny new knives. Yes, the foolish priest has actually -given- the little rogues knives! The kids all seem to be having a whale of a time, and to be quite fond of 'The crazy guy who goes on about Kanos, and not stealing and stuff.' Lared grins openly delighted to see the 'nice young lady' once more.

Tysinni froze right as she came around the corner. "Speak of the devil....er....priest." The thief is muttering to herself and quickly stuffs the letter she had been reading into her vest. She summons up her best winning smile and walks forward to join Lared and her little friends. "Hello! Hellow! Good morning!" She greets them all, patting several of the children on the head as they tried to talk all at once. "Hold on, one at a time." She blinks a bit, the shiny knives in their hands giving her pause. That wasn't her doing. She eyes the priest, turning her full attention on him. "Good morning. What's with the pack of weaponized miniature brigands?"

Lared beams. "The knives are for learning useful skills, like carving tent pegs, spoons, etc. Knives are also very useful for first aid and preparing food. I am sure than none of these innocent children would ever consider using a blade against a person." Those of the kids currently in view of Lared are doing their best to look angelic so as not to disabuse him of this ridiculous notion. The boys and girls behind him are laughing so much they can hardly speak. When the priest of Kanos turns to see what they are laughing at, one of the girls tells him it was a joke..."What's brown and sticky?" The answer? "A stick." Even the trusting Lared does not seem completely convinced by this explanation.

Tysinni eyes the children doubtfully. After what she had taught them, she hoped that they would only use the knives to defend themselves. After all, she couldn't fault them for that. Or to use them for the purposes Lared had in mind. She shoots a warning glance at one of the children who was miming being stabbed in the hand, before turning back to Lared. "Um, so yeah....I kinda was needing to find you anyways." The thief looks down in surprise, feeling small arms wrap themselves about her legs. She eyed the small boy of no more than five or six, before patting his head and deciding to let him stay.

Lared regards the tiny child embracing Ty's legs fondly."One day I would like to marry, and have children of my own." One lad, his face covered in soot eagerly tells Tysinni,"T'priest has been teaching us to start fires too, and he is going to give us badges for if we learn useful skills. We are all allowed to come up with ideas for badges, but Lared don't seem to like my idea. Whats wrong with a lockpicking badge?"

Tysinni grins down at the little boy, recognizing him as one of her more avid 'students.' He did seem to take to lockpicking with astonishing ease. She tousles his sooty hair and tweaks his nose before looking back up at the priest. "All skills are useful when the need for them arises." She was dithering over whether or not to tell him about the role she had in his misfortune the other night. "What about a stealthy badge?" The thief was biding her time and she knew it.

Lared considers the young lady's idea "A stealty badge you mean being really quiet, for bird watching or not to disturb people asleep in the next room? I can see how that might work. So have you re-considered and decided to become a scout leader after all Tysinni? I am sure you would be great, The kids all adore you." The soot covered lad has another brilliant idea."How about a jail-breaking badge? Breaking out of jail is a useful skill if ever I heard of one."

Tysinni looks mildly uncomfortable at the suggestion that she become a scout leader. Lared was still under some mistaken impressions of her and she knew she should disabuse him of them, especially in light of the letter she had gotten. The thief is momentarily distracted by the little boy and she grins down at his suggestion. "That is indeed a useful skill." Deciding to just do it, she sighs and looks the priest squarely in the eyes. "I must tell you something. The other morning when you woke up nearly naked? That was....that is to say...I was partially responsible for that." Her cheeks flush slightly as she struggles with her confession. Really, she wasn't used to apologizing for her life. "I was the one who..." She trails off looking around at the kids, before lowering her voice and continuing. "I was the one who robbed you." She pulls the pack of her shoulder and hands it to him. "Its all there. I hadn't done anything with it."

The young priest's jaw drops open, for several seconds he is speechless. "Er you?" He sits down on a bench outside the bank, seeming in shock. He automatically responds with 'Thank you." when the thief returns his stolen clothes etc. One young 'innocent child', has to hold his sides he is laughing so much. "So it was you Ty, who stripped him so he had to walk home naked! That is brilliant!" Lared is quick to point out."Not completely naked I still had my underwear." The scout leader, has gone beetroot red, he looks like he wishes a hole would open in the bench and swallow him up. Tysinni gave 1 black leather-satchel to you. Tysinni gave 1 clerical collar to you. Tysinni gave 1 Silver embroidered waistcoat to you. Tysinni gave 1 Gold buttoned tweed coat to you. Tysinni gave 1 priestly cape to you. Tysinni gave 3 platinum chunk to you. Tysinni gave 2 emerald to you. Tysinni gave 2 diamond to you. Tysinni gave 3721 gold to you.

Tysinni gives the child a formidable glare and he instantly quiets his laughing. They never did mess with her, these children she taught about the seedier things. She really didn't feel that bad about stealing from Lared. It was the returning it and confession that had her rattled. She sits down next to him, watching the priest from the corner of her eyes. "I was recently informed that robbing a priest isn't entirely on the up and up." She raises her voice and looks around at all the Scouts. "Its not a good idea to rob from those with a higher calling. Or their places of worship. Brings more problems than good."

Lared stutters "Kanos teaches us to forgive thieves and to teach them to forswear stealing, and live an honest life henceforth. I forgive you Ty, my friend, truly I do." Lared is sincere in his forgiveness, after his years of training as a pacifist priest, any desire for revenge is easy enough to put aside. The poor fellow's humiliation is not nearly so easily deal with however. Most of the scouts have stopped laughing and are listening to Tysinni's lecture on not robbing priests and temples with serious looks on their faces. One blond haired kid, with a runny nose however, can't stop milking the situation for more laughs. He calls out."We should have a stripping unconcious priests badge! You could be the first to earn it Ty!" Some of the urchins have gathered round Lared. "Sorry we laughed at yer mister priest. You have been real nice to us teaching us eth icks and burning things and stuff." The scouts feel genuine affection for the kind, if naive priest of Kanos who is trying so hard to help them.
