RP:Kelay Tavern random Meeting

From HollowWiki

Date: 4/18/2014

Where: Kelay Tavern

Participants: Sakkarah/Lydrain/Leone/Rayala/Dergious/Ranok/Hildegarde

Leone was already seated near the back of the room, removed from the entryway at a table tucked into an alcove next to the storage. It was a noisy table, one from which emanated whoops, hollers, and the occasional cursing. The stench of tobacco and booze seeps from the table, the clatter of gold pelting the smooth surface as, one by one, grunts and groans of defeat bleed over the populous. Seated with her back to the majority of the tavern, the raven-haired woman is perhaps the smallest figure at the table. Wrought arms find purchase at the elbow upon the wooden tract, her chair turned in reverse, so that the laddered back is against her stomach while she plays. At one elbow, a pile of gold seems to mount with each ensuing hand, while the other elbow sees and apparently endless flow of whiskey, punctuated intermittently with food.

Sakkarah ooc ill go next

Lydrain walks into the tavern, in a relatively chipper mood. He nodded at Mesthak before taking a seat. Shortly after Nancy came over and took his order. He places several gold coins in her hand, way more than was necessary, and then pulled a book out while he waited on his food and drink. Skimming through the pages, the blue haired 'elf' began to take notes, scribbling almost contstantly without actually looking at the paper. After a couple of minutes, Nancy would come back over and deposit a plate and mug in front of him. The plate was piled high with food, a much larger portion than most elves usually ate, and he began to enjoy his 'breakfast', regardless of the actual time of day.

Lydrain ooc sorry about that, I wasn't aware that Leone was posting.

Dergious appears from the south.

Dergious looked at Ranok.

Dergious looked at Lydrain.

Dergious looked at Leone.

Dergious looked at you.

Sakkarah was wearing her black hood and dress jack as she was walking inside the establishment known as Kelay Tavern, wanting Cigarettes, Food and Alcohol, unfortunatly, this Asian Woman could not afford any of it much to her anger, however, she was searching if any ladies were here as she knows when to hold them and when to fold them as she removed her hood to unveil her blood hair and asian colored face as she stomped her feet with her black spiked steel toed ladies boots as she moved to a corner to pass the time unless approached or spoken to, preferably by women and girls as she scanned the tavern quietly without a word or anything at this moment in time to assess the situation.

Sakkarah said OOC, "its okay Lyd"

Sakkarah looked at Dergious.

Lydrain looked at Sakkarah.

Lydrain looked at Dergious.

Sakkarah said OOC, "your turn again Leone"

Sakkarah looked at Lydrain.

Sakkarah ooc its Leon, Lydrain then myself in that order or anyorder i guess

Sakkarah ooc Leone

Leone turns to glance over her shoulder, once for the dragon's entry, and another for Sakkarah's. It is the blue-haired male that garners the blacksmith's attention first. Thighs gripping the sides of the chair, she then uses one arm to lever her torso nearly one hundred and eighty degrees. It is obvious she's staring at Lydrain, a narrowing of spring green sights directed at the man currently gorging on food. In a matter of moments, the farrier has folded her hand, scooped up her winnings and relinquished her seat. Cards laid plain, the cigar previously unnoted is grabbed up in her newly vacated hand, while her glass of whiskey occupies the other. Moving several tables closer to the Lord of Larket, the plover kicks a chair free and drops unceremoniously into it. Her space at the game now void, and the players at the table still hungry for gold, the lurking Sakkarah is invited to take over Leone's hand of poker.

Lydrain may be rather oblivious to several things, but being stared at isn't one of them. After clearing his mouth of food, washing it down with a little bit of milk from his glass, he turns to unknown woman, and with a smile he says, "Some people might consider it rude to stare at a stranger while they are eating, the first meal of the day no less." Letting out a slight chuckle, "How may I help you, madam?"

Lydrain ooc that was a lot shorter than I thought it was going to be... oh well.

Rayala appears from the south.

Rayala looked at you.

Rayala looked at Lydrain.

Lydrain looked at Rayala.

Rayala oocly pokes Ranok in the face.

Sakkarah sees that she is invited by a woman to take over her seat at poker, which she gladly accepts being fond of women, but also uses her mind on poker as well. She moves to the seat seeing other players, she curves a bright smile to the females, but shows disdain and hate for the males, she is also hungry for gold as are the others playing poker, so she scans the players as she sits in the women's place at the table ready to get this game of poker started, as she plans her strategies in her head silently as the card game begins.

Sakkarah looked at Rayala.

Sakkarah ooc any and all forms of rp are good weather it be short posts or long posts =)

Ranok bites Rayala because he can't cuddle her in a room full of people. His image would suffer.

Rayala slips into the tavern. Or, really, she means to slip in but ends up being far less graceful and a great deal more stumbl-y. Perhaps the most noticeable thing about this dragon is that, although she seems quite human in appearance, most of her body--what can be seen beneath a baggy button-down and a long, sweeping skirt--is plated with golden scales, each with a white-gold spiraling pattern, faint and pretty. Her face is framed by smaller freckling a of the same, melting into messy blonde waves. Her face is scarred; the marring of her flesh flares out over her right cheek. In place of her right arm, a runed metal one lies. She has no right leg, currently, and she walk-hops with a crutch at that side, a metal telescoping thing which her runed hand fits seamlessly into. And currently, she is knocking over chairs. The huge hound at her side isn't helping, at least not the chairs; he strides beside his master, growling at anyone who gets too close. "Sorry, Mesthak," the dragon mumbles, but the man doesn't seem to mind. Nancy rights chairs as Rayala topples them, all the way into a quiet back corner.

Rayala oocly cuddles Ranok anyway. Scratches his ears, too.

Ranok harumphs.

Josleen appears from the north.

Josleen looked at you.

Josleen said, "ooc: Paaaarrttaayyy"

Josleen exits down.

Sakkarah ooc your turn Leone

Leone takes a puff on her cigar, the offending corona pulled from her mouth with pincered thumb and forefinger. Tongue pushing the cap out of her mouth, the muscle is then employed to smooth over the width of a coppery lip. A pointed chin is thrust toward the board, papered with announcements and advertisements. One jet brow surges high onto an alabaster forehead, the corners of the blacksmith's mouth tucking into a sardonic smile. "Are you him?" The question is meted out through low, purring tones like the churning of a shallow stream over pebbles. "Are you the one who confessed to murder," the farrier clarifies baldly. Again the door opens, and again the petite woman's attention is drawn to it. Face lighting in a wide smile, the same rough yet melodic tones are meted out for the new entrant, "Ray."

Lydrain gets a rather confused look on his face. He arches and eyebrow, "I genuinely have no idea what you are talking about? Whose murder? And what would make you think that the one confessing is me?" Shaking his head, he returns his attentions to his food and book. From the glass in her hand, he assumed she simply had too much to drink. Humans couldn't hold their liquor. Letting out a sigh, he stuck a biscuit in his mouth and began a couple of sentences worth of furious note taking. He wasn't completely ignoring the unknown woman, as he would love to hear her answers, he just was no longer sure if she would give any.

Sakkarah continues to play her poker as she smokes a cigarette and drinks her alcohol that was given to her in this long game between several players, she heard a woman come in, in which the Asian greeted the woman who entered with a smile and turned her attention back to the game at hand as they were playing a close game neck and neck as The Asian Woman grew angry at the male players while playing games, with each player winning some and then starting over again for more winnings, as she gave a sadistic snicker at the start of the now current card game at the poker table.

Lydrain is here.

Rayala waves to Leone with her free arm, switching directions to meet with her friend. Her eyes are closed, she navigates by sound and smell, and the sight if the hound at her side. "Leone," she intones gently. And, scenting another, she pauses. "Blue?" She asks, curious as to whether she has placed the color. Perhaps she hasn't met many of his color since losing her sight. She bows her head and Nancy ferries over a small package to her. The dragon was thanks the barmaid and dips her head again to Leone. "I can't stay," she says, eagerness writes into her face. She begins to hop away, less clumsily this time, towards the door. Should no one stop her, she'd depart.

Rayala oocly has to go to physical therapyyyy. If y'all are still around later I will be back!

Sakkarah ooc take care you are in my thoughts and prayers *hugs*

Sakkarah said OOC, "lol everyones thats one is in the same place, quite rare!"

Leone chuffs a laugh, scratching her cheek on her shoulder while Lydrain speaks. "Weeks ago, a woman was assaulted, assumed kidnapped, in Kelay. It's been in the papers, they've been looking for her. Just today a notice appeared on the board, confessing to the assault, and explaining that the woman was now dead. He identifies himself as the man with blue hair." Turning to the newly joined Rayala and Ara, the metallurigst frowns deeply at her friend's hasty departure. "I'm sorry you can't stay. We'll have dinner together tonight, then?" Whether or not she received an answer from the departing druidess, the plover would assume it to be a date. Should Sakkarah start to run short on cash winnings, the sinewous smith takes intiative, passing gold to the other woman in increments of one hundred. Despite the numerous distractions, the green-eyed human remains most attentive to the potential (at least to her knowledge) murder, Lydrain.

Hildegarde said OOC, "Leone leaves the best and worst hmails."

Sakkarah said OOC, "*laughs*"

Dergious seems to appear from out of nowhere, spontaneously generating next to you.

Hildegarde appears from the south.

Sakkarah looked at Hildegarde.

Lydrain let out a sigh, "Whatever fool decided to identify himself by a hair colour, is just that, a fool. I understand that blue isn't the most common, but it still exists." He points at his own hair, "Obviously it isn't as distinctive as this ciminal thinks it is." Finishing off his milk, and continues talking, "If I were to murder anyone, I wouldn't admit to it. I would either be worried about the repercussions or I would find the chance of being caught worth the risk, but you gain nothing from admitting you comitted said crime." If Leone, or anyone else listening, was good at reading people, there was no hint of malice or ill-intent in Lydrain's voice, everything he said was simply matter of fact. After which, he went back to eating the small amount of food remaining from his breakfast plate.

Hildegarde looked at Sakkarah.

Hildegarde strides into the tavern only to unceremoniously tack a note to the board after inspecting the other pinned notes. You continued to play poker until they decided to take a break with her winnings. The Asian put her black hood back on to smoke and drink and watch from the darkest corner in the tavern unless something happens, she is spoken to or otherwise approached, for now, she remains quiet once again assessing the situations at hand, also making sure the man did not harm the woman as well.

Dergious said OOC, "Heh, it's like... with that logic in mind, why aren't dragon charry's in Rynvale curbing the mass slaughter of their cousins? "

Hildegarde said OOC, "Like I said, that's a little misinterpretation/misunderstanding. :-) Hunting is acceptable in Frostmaw, as if defending one's life. But poaching animals is against Frostmaw's law."

Dergious said OOC, "Cuz um... someone um... kills them a lot... <shifty eyes> ... I heard..."

Leone pouches out her bottom lip, nodding sypatheticly toward Lydrain's reasoning. "I make no judgements based on the character of you or this murderer. It's why I asked if you are one and the same first, though my approach may be unorthodox." A healthy length of ash is flicked onto the tavern floor, as if to punctuate her sentence, before the blacksmith would speak again. "To be perfectly honest, you're the only person I've ever encountered with blue hair, and as the details seemed to line up, I thought inquiry was the better part of inaction." Tipping the last of her whiskey into her mouth, the shoer places the empty glass on the table before her. A long draw is taken from the cigar, and the diminutive woman again indicates directionality with her chin, this time at Lydrain in particular. "If I've offended you, I insist on buying your meal as an apology." Even as she speaks, a hand is flung into the air and waved. Hopefully the effect would be two-fold: to summon the barmaid and to garner Hilde's attention. Eager to do the latter, the blacksmith also bleats out in a near-shout, "Dame! Captain!"

Hildegarde said to Leone, "Yes, m'lady?"

Sakkarah said OOC, "okies"

Hildegarde said OOC, "It's getting closer and closer to pizza tiiiiime. :-D"

Leone said to Hildegarde, "Expect my courier later today, with a delivery and not just correspondence this time."

Sakkarah said OOC, "pizza pizza pizza"

Leone said OOC, "After that, will it be peanutbutter jelly time?"

Dergious looked at Sakkarah.

Sakkarah said OOC, "and then spaghetti time"

Hildegarde said OOC, "It'll be "gorge myself until ill" time."

Sakkarah looked at Dergious.

Dergious said OOC, "Where-e-at?"

Hildegarde said to Leone, "Wonderful. I shall be in the Kelay area, should that help your courier. I will be searching for Tyler."

Lydrain shakes his head, "You haven't offended me in any way, shape, or form, madam. I feel I must be the one apologizing, as I made several snap judgements after you asked your question, which were out of line." He chuckles a bit, "I tend to be terribly irritated when interrupted while I'm reading or eating, and this time I was doing both." He smiles at her, "My name is Lydrain, I'm the Headmaster of the Academy in Larket, pleasure to meet you." He will hold out a hand, intending to shake the woman's, and he would get up and take a couple of steps to close the gap, if necessary. Handshake or no handshake, he would continue to smile, and shut his book, "I must admit, blue isn't incredibly common... perhaps this would be better." After concentrating for a few moments, his hair would change colour to jet black, "Problem is, I've done blue for so long, I'll just revert back whenever I quit thinking about it... on reflex." As if to accentuate his point, his hair begins to lighten, and turn back to the blue it was before, "The subconscious is such a funny thing...'

Sakkarah smiles from her corner at the newest woman to enter, but then hears a man named Tyler, which makes this asian angry as her hate and distrust for men knows no bounds, she jots down the name Tyler in her head, and no, not with any good intentions for the man either, she enjoys females as she is easy to befriend by them, although she cant stand the stench of men, but that was an entirely different matter, as she continues to drink and smoke from the dark corner to pass the time while taking mental notes on this Tyler character, unless spoken to or approached, which for best results, its best a female does so.

Lydrain looked at Hildegarde.

Leone accepts the Blue's hand, shaking it genially. "It's nice to meet you, Lydrain. I am Leone, just your average blacksmith," she responds to the greeting. The hand is then swept toward a chair, offering the male a seat in her company, so as to continue the conversation. "Well, that is mightily impressive, I must say," the smith replies to his hair raising parlor trick before continuing on, "Until this scoundrel is caught, I expect that others who do not know you will wonder the same. If you'll take advice from a common craftsman: Wear a hat." The last sentence is delivered with a measured amount of cheshire glee. Turning slightly toward the corner that Sakkarah occupies, the metallurgist speaks in profile to the other woman. "Have a seat, quit skulking in the corner! You're making me nervous." Leone's tone is jestfully stern, and a booted foot is swung to kick out a nearby chair.

Leone said to Hildegarde, "Please be careful. It seems this foe is unknown."

Hildegarde said to Leone, "I know him. I would rather I be the one to catch him than someone else. A friendly face might keep him calm."

Hildegarde said OOC, "It's pizza time! Bye guys! <333"

Sakkarah said OOC, "bye hilde *hugs*"

Hildegarde answers a higher calling: pizza.

Hildegarde vanished before your eyes, perhaps never to be seen again.

Sakkarah ooc your turn Lyd =)

Dergious exits down.

Hildegarde seems to appear from out of nowhere, spontaneously generating next to you.

Hildegarde 's friend is delayed and thus delaying pizza time. </3

Dergious said OOC, "Does anyone remember the rules for custom consumables by any chance?"

Sakkarah said OOC, "unfortunatly not Derg"

Sakkarah said OOC, "much has changed since i last fully played and my writing and rp kinda got rusty"

Lydrain couldn't help but chuckle, "I suppose I could just stick to my natural form, until this other blue haired ragamuffin is caught, though that would be considerably more inconvenient." He chuckles again, "I suppose I could wear a hat, I believe several of my professors have some I could 'borrow'. Though I'm not sure if a traditional pointy wizard's cap would compliment my usual attire." Motioning for Nancy to come over, he smiles, "Now that breakfast is out of the way, I believe I'll have my usual." Depositing a couple more gold coins in the barmaid's hand, "No no, i won't need the bottle today, just a bit of social drinking. Also, if you would, a refill for my drinking partner." He smiles and rather shortly he is brought a glass of brandy, and Leone is given a refill of whiskey, unless she declines, "Also, Nancy, if it isn't too much trouble, I could use one of those meatpies, still a bit hungry it seems." As if on cue, the 'elf's' stomach growls slightly, and the waitress scurries off to complete the order.

Ranok seems to appear from out of nowhere, spontaneously generating next to you.

Dergious appears from below.

Sakkarah continued to stand in the dark corner that was until a woman beckoned her to come sit in which the asian gladly accepted smiling to the woman as she sat beside her smoking and drinking.
