RP:Keeping A Promise

From HollowWiki

Emilia had left in an angry fit over the rude defense that Skylei had put up when meeting her. She was heading off toward the west, toward the mines, but she would never make it to the mines. Having made it far enough that she was out of the sight of the other woman down the way she stopped dead in her tracks. Standing there a moment she took in a slow breath before running her own fingers through her curly blonde locks, slightly pulling at them before she let out a frustrated growl of sorts. She’d promised Tyler that she wouldn’t go back to the mines. A selfish stomp of her foot as she turned around to head back toward that tree-house of his. If he hadn’t retreated back yet, he would at some point and she’d be there waiting for him. She’d not break a promise she’d made to the male. As she walked along through the tree of the forest back toward his place she was careful and silent. She was listening very carefully to the sounds around her so that she wouldn’t run into a drow or one of the minotaur that were fighting not too far away either. She was almost there when there was hand that reach out from behind one of the trees. A dark skinned hand of a drow. It snapped out after she’d walked past, catching her by a fist full of blonde locks, yanking her back from her path. A high pitched shriek of pain having her hair, “Let go!” She’d holler loud enough that if Tyler was at his tree-house he’d hear it. When the hand only gave another pull back she reached behind her quickly pulling an arrow free from the quiver. A pivot, a painful one, and she jabbed that arrow with enough force to puncture through the drow’s chest. His hand would fall free from her hair as the dark skinned being hit the ground, dead.

Once Emilia thrusts the single arrow through the drow assailant's torso allowing him to drop dead to the forest floor, a duo of dark elves make their presence known by stepping from the base of a large oak. The yellow teethed demons beckon to Emilia with a cursed grin and one licks out at her in a wretched attempt of seduction. Blades are drawn and the two drow begin to approach the farm girl calling out taunts and slurs. Suddenly, one collapses to the ground, a figure landing upon his back with a rusted blade driven deep into the back of his neck. Caramel eyes raise from the floor to stare at the remaining dark elf, anger boiling in his eyes as he rips the blade from the deceased drow's neck, a slimy string of blood flung from flesh and blade as Tyler rises to his feet. The drow feigns his teeth and readies his blade before charging toward Tyler with a shout. The human snatching the assailants wrist when he goes to make a heave with the sword, his armed hand quickly slicing the throat of the opponent, sending him falling to the ground with a gargled cry of pain. Looking to his dagger, Tyler would shake it off thrice before wiping the remaining blood on his ragged pants leg. His head rising to face Emilia before calling out in a lacking voice, "You're alright?"

Emilia didn't seem so surprised as another two drow stepped out from behind that oak tree. Slightly trembling fingers loaded an arrow as she pulled her bow free from her back. Drawing back she let loose an arrow that strunk into the stomach of one drow at the same time as the unhit drow fell to the ground. That caught her by full surprise. How the hell? she thought to herself before Tyler was visible. Blinking a few times she just stood there like a deer in the headlights watching as the human man killed the two drow that had been a party to the third one she'd killed moments ago. For a time she just stood there with her bow in her hand in silence long after he'd spoken to her with his question. More silence followed as she slipped her bow back into place. Holding her hands together before her as she twiddled her thumbs together. A tell tale bad habit of hers. "I'm sorry." It was all she had to say to him, but what or why she was appologizing wasn't exactly crystal clear.

Tyler places his trusted dagger in his pocket once it's been cleaned of blood. He faces Emilia again and raises a brow to showcase an outward expression of curiosity, "For what?" He calls before moving to search over the corpse of the fallen drow soldiers, looking for anything to salvage as loot. A slight smile falling upon his features as he finds a nice pouch of coin containing a small mix of five gold, seven silver and around twenty cooper on the first.

Emilia raised a brow as she watched him raid the dead drow corpse for whatever things he may have had on him. Running her fingers through her blonde locks to push them out of her eyes before she replied to him. "I didn't know you had a lady. I wouldn't of stepped onto toes and gotten between you two, had I known it." She flashed a timid smile toward him. She had clearly picked up on the fact that the attitude from Sky moments ago when meeting was because the other female liked Ty, but was assuming that by the reaction that she and he were a couple.

Tyler snickers with a hint of a snort at Emilia's remark as he moves onto the second body, speaking to her as he fiddles with the multiple pouches on the drow's belt. "I don't." He declares as he pulls out a single pebble sized emerald stone from the corpse and snags a few more copper from his second victim. He raises to his feet, unwilling to loot the corpse of Emilia's kill out of respect. "I've never seen Skylei act like that over me. I'll admit that I've had feelings for her, but I'm near positive that the feeling isn't mutual." Tyler pushes his own hair from his face and crosses his arms as caramel hues meet the beautiful blues of Emilia's. "She was engaged to my former host." He offers as another piece to the confusing puzzle that is his life.

Emilia's blue gaze met his carmel gaze as he crossed his arms. As he spoke she barely blinked once as a very confused look hit her. former host? What in the world of Hollow was he talking about. Her brows scrunched together as she attempted to put the pieces together, but there was no such luck. A few more puzzled looks as she with her hands was making such silly gestures while reworking the pieces. All this was before she threw her hands up in the air before lightly hitting her face with both hands before pulling them slowly down so that she could see him from just above her finger tips. "I should probably be going now." Came muffled from behind the palms of her hands.

Tyler continued staring at Emilia while she pulled at her face in defeated turmoil and confusion. As she claims the need to leave he would remain vigilant for a few seconds before nodding twice and turning on his heels. "Yell if you need me..." His voice is low and a hint of upset can be found in the words as they ring out into the woods. Turning to the nearest tree, he begins to ascend ready to make his way back to the hammock.

Emilia was about to turn to leave to, well she wasn't sure where she was going to head, but she knew it wouldn't be the mines this time. "What is your problem?" She finally managed to get out as he had started to climb up one of the trees. He could easily be a monkey the way he moved so freely in the trees. "I didn't go to the mines. I came back...so what has you upset?" She caught the tone in his voice when he'd replied, but couldn't understand why it was there.

Tyler is clutching one of the highest branches in the tree when he halts as Emilia's voice reaches his ears. Sitting still as the tree swayed from the wind that rushed over the forest he would think for a proper reply to her question. Perhaps honesty isn't the best option at this time. He takes a deep breath before turning in the tree to look down to Emilia. "Nothing." He calls down, his voice a much more believable tone at this point. "Thank you for not going to the caves." His stare holds firm as he sways with the branches. A second of silence before he calls out once again, "The area around the hammock is clear. You're still free to rest there." and with that, he's off.
