Part of the Rynvale New Dawn Arc

Location: Broken Barrel Inn

Vaar slowly opened the door to the Broken barrel inn, his muscular 6'3 frame cast a huge shadow upon the wooden floor. His almost perfect golden scaled features were only marred by a single scar upon his left cheek. Those greenish hued eyes of his seemed to fade to a golden color at it's outermost edges, his hawk like gaze scanned about the room. Many races sat at different tables and booths in the room, waiving their beer around as they explained their stories. Many of these stories were all together made up. Spending his time around sailors has definitely been teaching him how to see through lies or exaggerated stories. His rugged features finally stopped at an open table and he quickly moved to seize it. Even though his movements were fast, there was a practiced and precise fluidity to them. His armored footsteps clanked upon the ground beneath his boots, the noise of which was barely audible over the tavern patrons. A few of the patrons quickly jumped up to salute him, acknowledging his rank as Captain, to only quickly be told "You're off duty, never mind the formalities." His voice was deep and calm. Finally he came to a stop at the open table and he gently sat upon one of the chairs. His body shifted about back and forth in the chair before finding that comfortable spot upon it. Today had been a long day and it was definitely time for a drink. He greenish hued eyes scanned about again looking for a waitress. Upon spotting her he raised his hand and shouted his order for a drink.

Awne enters the tavern with a sigh and breath of air, the ship ride had been uneventful for the most part but perhaps that was her personal excitment for the meeting at hand. Brushing silver tresses from her face the feline cloathed in a white cloak and matching robe lined in blue runes looks about the tavern; the foly of this all was her lack of knowledge of what the person in question looked like. Still Sapphire eyes peruse the patrons, snowy white tail flicking slowly as the lioness looks around, the pale skin and light dusting of fur among the demi form of the feline gives the appearence of simply pale white skin, and neatly kept nails. Catching a passing serving girl she asks quietly "I'm looking forr a Sirr Vaarr, have you seen him?" voice light even if accented.

Vaar sat patiently in his chair awaiting his drink to be brought to him. Upon his face sat a look of near exhaustion, the long day at the harbor was definitely demanding. Much of the debris from the war had already been cleared away, but that still left him with building up its defenses. Abruptly two men came over to his table and made a toast of sorts, if you could even call it that. 'To Captain Vaar!" Their drunken voices could easily be heard amidst the noisy tavern. "May his pockets always be full, so our bellies stay full on ale!" The drunken men quickly slammed down their ale before almost falling over. Vaar couldn't only smile at his drunken sailors. The other night he had opened a tab here to purchase his crew a few drinks every night. It was something he did happily, because they worked very hard for him. Although he was in the mood for a drink he was still waiting for someone that he was supposed to meet. The smiling waitress delivered a drink to him at his table and stated "anything else I can get you?" to which he stated " No thanks. This is enough for now." His smile still stretched across his golden lips.

Awne glances to the shouts, and the tall armored male amongst them that they were apparently toasting. Turning back to the woman she smiles "I think I found him, thank you." Bowing politely the feline weaves her way through the tables, chairs, drunks and feet to the table the male sat at. Smiling the woman bows her head in greeting "Sirr Vaarr? My name is Awne we have exchanged letterrs forr meeting this night?" she glanced to the other patrons that all seemed to know him, her tail flicking lightly at the respect they held in their voices, a good sign of leadership and brought a brighter smile to the felines lips as she continued to stand, not wanting to be rude by taking a seat without offer.

Vaar still carried that stupid smile across his golden features, the sailors around him definitely had more than there fill of ale. They were in a drunken stupor talking about everything, from sea monsters to women. The feline before him quickly dragged his attention from his men. Maybe it was the person he was waiting for? "You must be Awne. I think your the only one that still calls me sir. Please take a seat." His golden hand gestured towards an empty chair by him. His greenish hued eyes seemed to just watch her, studying her every movement. "So Drael tells me that you are a healer and that Trishtar has joined his crew. Is that you're reason for joining?" His tone of voice was calm and casual, he definitely didn't wasn't the type to keep personal things to himself. "I only ask because I want to make sure you sign up for the right reasons." That right hand of his casually grabbed at his drink and slowly lifted it to his mouth. A big drink was taken from it as he gulped almost half of it down. Vaar wasn't about to stop drinking even though his meeting was finally here.

Awne takes a seat now that it was offered, nimble hands removing the white cloak, unfastening the hook to move it off and rest it over the back of the chair before sitting lightly. All aspects of her gate and posture spoke of training and breeding but of the grace and even the predatory nature of most of the large classes of felines though it seemed perhaps if her class was of a healer the aggression was a trait that had been repressed or masked, one never knew really with felines. She nods her head to his question "To be with my husband yes but as well I wish to do morre in this worrld, I feel I have been too long herre only offerring serrves to those that rrequire it and come in need of aid...but hearring of helping on a ship...that makes me feel like I could do something morre with my gift." she tilts her head she too was watching him, relaxed as he was and calm, looking at him was not what she had expected but then, she hadn't expected the personality of the human either. "Is...that a rright rreason to ask to join?"

Vaar nodded towards her calmly at her question. "It's a good reason to join, but I must tell you that Draels ship and mind may not always be together. There may be times where you go days without seeing Trishtar." Seriousness still laced his voice. It was more than true what he was saying. The ship that was being built for him was meant for different things than Draels ship. "The ship that's being built for me, is a square mast clipper. One of the fastest types of ships in existence. The primary job for this ship is scouting, goods transportaion and to smuggle people of importance out of the city should it be needed. All though it's fast, I'm not saying that we won't find ourselves under attack. That is why I need a healer. To help with my men when this does happen." The way in which he spoke showed quite a bit of care for his crew. They were important to him and he hoped to receive as little casualties as possible. "If this is something that you are ok with, then I would gladly accept your help upon my ship." A small smile once again made its way across his face, only to be covered up by a mug as he sipped more of his drink.

Awne listened intently but his words concerned her. She had thought that the two men would be on the same ship or that they might be together at times. The idea of her husband being gone would be hard, even if she wasn't on a ship of her own helping, and granted she had been trying to gain more in responsability such as becoming a healer for one of the orphanages. However...being able to help an entire crew...it was something to think about but it was also something she had thought about, this was something she wanted to do. Now that she had spent sufficent amount of time in thought she focuses back upon the male beside her "I would like to, even if it's not with him I would like to help and make some differrence."

Vaar smiled as she accepted the position of a healer upon his ship. "Well then, by the way you reacted to my statements you may have some worries. If you have any questions please feel free to ask them. I told you I am not much for formalities, so speak openly with me and I will address your concerns as best as I can." His relaxed body posture quickly changed as he sat forward to listen to her should she have anything to say. The men gathered around him realized that the two were having an important conversation and quickly left the table area. His greenish hued eyes stayed locked upon her as he awaited her answer, there was a high level of confidence that sat within them. He knew what he was doing upon a ship, but he wanted to make sure that everyone upon it had their concerns taken care of before they took up position upon it.

Awne shifts in her seat, glancing to him, then down to her hands. wringing them for a moment she finally leans forward in her chair, resting her arms on the table as sapphire locks to green "Will we have time on land so that I might take carre of the patients that come to me, my clan, my childrren and otherrs needs that might arrrrise? how long at sea might we be? will we be nearr Sirr Drraels crrew at all? Will therre be a medical bay of sorrts that I might be able to use forr the smallerr healings should we not be in battle? Will I be expected to fight? I am not much of a fighterr but I have been trraining to betterr defend myself..." the questions were simply pouring out, not that she felt a bit more relaxed in his presence they simply rolled out one after the other with little breath between "Ourr tigerr wonderrs if therre might be position forr him would therre? and if we go about a shorrt jourrney might the little ones come aboarrd to see the sights though I'm not surre if that might be a good idea to have little ones underrfoot.." she mumbled this last one silently, taking pause as she realised that perhaps she had asked more than enough. A blush tints her cheeks as she looks to her hands, tail twitching at her side "forrgive me...I think I asked too many.."

Vaar let out a loud belly full laugh at all of her questions, it wasn't because he was laughing at her, but because she had so many of them. "Well then." He smiled again while regaining his composure. "We won't be living upon the ship everyday, you can if you want, but it's not expected. You should have enough time to be able to deal with these things while we are docked here. I don't see any problem with that and if you do need a little more time just let me know. That ship doesn't move till I say so." Giving he slight wink while he spoke. " As for time out at see, most of our jobs will be simple day to day things, goods transportation, which will only take up part of the day. However if Rynvale were to come under attack again, we may be gone for a few days to scout. If that happens you will be notified so that you may be able to take care of things back home." His voice still serious, his golden hand lightly placed the empty mug on the table. "There will be sometimes where Draels ship and mine will be working together. He has a war ship and usually with have most of the goods needed to run our ship, so we should see them often. Also if our ship is under attack I would rather prefer for you to not fight, I would rather have an uninjured healer able to still do there job. There will be a hospital bay inside the ship where you can perform all of your duties and even have your own room." His voice turned a little bit as he remembered the name tiger.. "Who is tiger by the way?"

Awne nods her head at the answers, pleased with them "I live in Sage forrest will this be alrright? we arren't that farr frrom Rrynvale and can come to the ship the moment I'm called forr orr needed." At the mention of the tiger as name and not race she smiles "A tigerr, his name is Kattanos, he is...ah...mine and Trrish's mate." she flushes a bit and laughs softly waving her hand "it's...ah...feline thing I suppose, multiple mates though they arre all I have." she smiles fondly "my dearr ones, besides the childrren of courrse." she refocuses again on him, snapping out of her thoughts "he is a fighterr, a mage of sorrts perrhap might be a betterr terrm?" Her tail flicks again, another concern coming to mind with her husband talking to her mentally but that was something that she could discuss when the time came...rather should it come about. She bats lashes over sapphire orbs in a blink as she looks to him "have you questions forr me?"

Vaar cocked his head to the side thinking about what she said. Multiple mates? He doesn't know a thing about felines and he only knew that he didn't like sharing any significant other with someone else, but he wouldn't say anything to her about this as they are her views not his own. "Well, if he is a fighter or a mage I could definitely use his help. Feel free to bring him along. As for your kids I must say that they should probably stay at home with someone you trust. The sea's can be a dangerous place for kids." His mind was still on the mention of a mage. "You're mate.. Kattanos, he's a mage? I have been looking for one to join my crew and if he is interested have him send me a letter. Oh.." His voice paused for a moment. "I almost forgot! Living in the sage is not a problem, I myself live in Cenril and sometimes in the Xalious mountains." His exhausted eyes still peered at her he did indeed have questions for her but perhaps another night would be better. "I'm sorry Awne, but I am very tired from a long day of work. Could we continue this conversation another time?"

Awne nods her head, smiling warmly "of courrse Sirr Vaarr. You look farr too tirred as it is, will you be able to rreach a bed beforre slipping to sleep?" she asks lightly as she stands, picking her cloak up and fastening it again around her neck, waiting for his response.

Vaar nods strongly. "I will." a smile stretching across his face. "I'm only going to the docks tonight, just a couple of minutes from here. Have a safe trip home."

Awne nods her head "have a pleasant sleep." she says lightly before taking her leave, weaving back through the tables and chairs and people to the door and out to return home.

Vaar slowly stands up, rising his shaking body to his feet. He smiled in amusement to himself, his stubborn body weight was almost too much for him at the moment. Watching her leave he simply waved good-bye to her as she exited the tavern. He was more tired than he had thought and it would make his return home troublesome. His massive weight began to move towards the door of the bar. His footsteps weren't as coordinated as they usually were stumbling about the floor.. Perhaps the ale was a bit too much for him, he thought. His 6'3 frame exited the tavern into the darkness of night.
