Part of the Returning Niawtu to Vuryal Arc

Summary: Ilydia decides to experiment with Niawtu and learn a little from her.

Characters: Ilydia, Niawtu

LOCATION: In a hidden shrine

Ilydia allowed Niawtu to stand on the ground on her own as she unbound Niawtu. "Your new home for now will be here until I can find a better location."

Niawtu places her arms back down to her side and nods, still wearing that black faceless mask. "Ok... So... Why'd you take me from there anyways? Dad told me it's the safest place he could think of."

Ilydia smiled at Niawtu. "Safest? How long did it take me to find you?"

Niawtu looks at Ilydia "Oh... Yeah, right..." she removes her hood, showing her long white hair is tied in a pony tail by a white ribbon, but she seems to refuse to remove the mask.

Ilydia frowned at Niawtu as she handed Niawtu a strange drink that looked oddly like milk. Of course, it was really an anesthetic to make sure that Niawtu wouldn't feel any pain. "I have an experiment I wish to perform on you and you will take that later when I'm ready to begin. You will want to take it unless you like pain, but don't take it until we are ready." Ilydia now stared at Niawtu, "Exactly what do you know about the wraithling? I can tell you know something, and don't try to hide it from me again."

Niawtu takes to milk-like anesthetic and looks at it, cocking her head. "Experiments, huh..." she places the drink in her satchel, slipping that daric coin in with it. "Oh, I don't really know much about her... I know there's a dragon wraith, and I know that the child wraith is fighting against the virus, which I guess is why Vuryal wants her back... But I don't know much else... Why are you so curious about her anyways?" she asks, as she's still thinking of the 'experiments'.

Ilydia said, "Remember when I mentioned that I have a master? I am hoping to find a way to break free from mine like a Lycan could or like that wraithling might have. If I don't, ilydia will almost certainly die. And if she dies..." Ilydia looked at Niawtu, staring at Niawtu to be sure that Niawtu knew who was keeping her alive, "Let us just say that some people might regret it."

Niawtu purses her naturally-black lips beneath her mask. "I see. Er... In a way a wraith can't be freed from their master unless he dies... Or the master gives the wraith its freedom. The wraithling virus was made dormant. But she's still wrapped with his chains... As for me. I've always been a free lycan... So I'm not certain either of us could help you." she says, as she pulls her long white hair from out of her robe. "I'm sorry if that wasn't helpful information though."

Ilydia smiled to hear her words, "Good, good, that is what I wanted to know. It seems that ilydia has fallen asleep so you won't be able to play with her until later. Say, why do you wear that mask, you should take it off. It is nice to look each other face to face."

Niawtu cringes under her mask and says, though suspiciously, "Er. I really would rather not... I um... I just like wearing it is all. Makes me feel less shy..." Ilydia wouldn't see it but her eyes were shifty underneath the darkness of the wooden mask.

Ilydia looked carefully at Niawtu, "I really do insist. You will need to remove it for the experiments anyways." Ilydia looked at Niawtu expectantly, as if awaiting Niawtu to remove the mask on her own.

Niawtu simply stands there, hands at her sides. "I don't see what any part of my face has to do with an experiment. I'm not removing it." she was a stubborn child, that's for sure.

Ilydia drew her knife out and seemed to trace around the mask. "I suppose you are due for a new face. Wouldn't want anyone to recognize you, now would we?" She smiled cruely as she brought the knife closer and closer. "Then again, if we cut off your face, we might as well take a look at what lies underneath, so you -really- might as well just remove the mask."

Niawtu bares her teeth under the mask and the slowly reaches up to it, and pulls it from her face. As she does she maintains a different mask, an emotionless one. And she keeps her eyes closed. Her young face was pale, and beautiful, really. And, even though there is a knife present the child keeps her eyes closed. "Is that really necissary? Cutting off my face, I mean? There's no point in the matter." as she talks her mouth moves, but only wolf words escape her mouth. All the common tongue she spoke came forth from her mind.

Ilydia looked at the girl's face carefully. "Now, Lycans can become wolves , right?" Ilydia handed Niawtu another bottle, this time clear. "Drink this now or this first experiment will hurt. ilydia is asleep now. You might want to close your eyes."

Niawtu cracks open one eye a bit to see where the bottle was, giving away a bit of a metalic look surrounded by black. But she soon snatches the bottle from her hand and closes her eye once more. Soon she swallows the liquid, and says "So help me, if you make me more scarred then my flesh already is..." she stops there, thinking otherwise of a threat. "And what does it matter if I can shift into a wolf?"

Ilydia smiled as she brought her knife to the Lycan's back, "You might feel some pressure, but no pain, just don't look, don't speak, don't move." The vampire cut a small thin line upon it, carefully as to not do great harm. There, she closed her eyes and concentrated pressing her emotions into Niawtu to draw Niawtu's emotions out. Several minutes later, after attempting various ways, she could finally feel it, the damage on Niawtu's back. She concentrated, drawing into Niawtu and pulling the damage away, the wound closing slightly as an oddly similar wound opened upon her own back. Next, she tried to sing to it, sending healing towards it though much of it was in vain, she eventually managed to get it just right and saw the wound finish closing. "A few more attempts should work out." With another cut, this time deeper, she tried again, and only after several minutes, likely with Niawtu very curious, she stopped. "Ok, that experiment is finished."

Niawtu held stone still during her experiment, keeping her eyes shut, and a mask of emotionlessness upon her face. "What did you do to my back?" she wasn't going to mention the gruesome scarring from razor whips, that she obtained as an even younger child. But she was truly curious as to what the woman was up to.

Ilydia laughed, patting the Lycan Girl lightly, "Oh don't worry, that was the easy part. I just wanted to make sure my next experiment would be a complete success. Don't worry, this won't hurt, you'll be asleep for most of it. Just hope you don't wake up in the middle." Ilydia giggled as she flicked the knife a few times, small amounts of blood splattering onto the ground. "I will need you to drink the white medicine and then turn into a wolf right away. Should be enough to do this experiment three times."

Niawtu turns her head towards Ilydia, eyes still closed. "Er... Ok." she fishes into her satchel and finds the white liquid, opening the bottle and then drinking the liquid. Soon she swiftly removes her satchel and the belt with the pouches and then there's a sudden 'PUOFF!' noise as a cloud of frost bust from the child. There, without any clothing laying about is a lycan cub with white fur and icy blue markings. A hexagonal fractal seal is on her upper right front leg in icy blue. Now that she's in this form she opens up her eyes, they simply appear to be normal wolf eyes that have silver irises. Niawtu's wolf form is roughly 1 1/2 foot tall and 2 1/2 feet long. She is scrawny, as well. Soon her eyes begins to droop from the milky substance and she collapses to the floor, quickly falling asleep.

Ilydia ||Great care went into the 'operation' as Ilydia began to slice into the pelt, carefully lifting section at a time even as she healed the wolf with her song magic and where needed, with her power to pull the damage into herself. She worked meticulously, gathering both pelt and blood, observing the wolf at all times to be sure she didn't overdo things. She had originally considered letting the wolf suffer, but that would cause more chances to fail, something she did not desire. It was hard work for the skin seemed to sometimes reject her healing, especially when she wasn't clear with her intent-which was often as she kept imagining what it would have been like if the wolf had not been asleep but merely paralyzed. Still, those moments were brief as she quickly returned to normal and worked professionally. Finally, after what was likely several hours, she finished. A brand new pelt now had been extracted. She smiled and carefully stored the pelt before turning to repeat the process... Well, the vampire found a small problem there. The skin had healed just fine, but the fur was rather lacking. Ilydia sighed, she suppsoed the hair would grow back after a few hours, but now she would need to mix up more of the potion. Carefully, she went to work, putting together various herbs and finally, she finished two potions. Thinking about it, she put a small cloth over the child's eyes-The child would likely not be all too thrilled to be nearly furless, after all. And time passed...

Niawtu awoke after the many hours of work Ilydia put into what she did. Her head raises up off of the floor and she looks about, only to see darkness. "Please tell me this is a blindfold..." would be heard immiting from the wolfs mind "and that I'm not missing my eyes or something..." she sets her head back down on the floor, still exhausted from the potion. On normal lycans the potion would run through a body much swifter, but Niawtu's naturally cold temperature seems to hinder that to making the potion last longer than it would on a human. "Tell me you're done with the experiments Ilydia... I don't like being a guinea pig..."

Ilydia smiled wryly. "Actually, I have to repeat this experiment. I must say, on the positive side, your skin looks much healthier, no, don't remove the blindfold. I need you to drink these two potions." Ilydia held the potions for Niawtu to drink one at a time.

Niawtu groans a little, the humanoid groan undertoned by a wolf growl. "Fine..." she then drinks the two potions, as instructed, and soon finds herself falling back into that deep slumber.

Ilydia waited patiently for her first potion to start working and after several hours, she could see the effects working properly, the fur roughly how it was before the earlier experiment. Once more, she went to work, cutting at the fur carefully, still keeping track of the child's health. Her earlier experiment had shown that the scars on the Lycan were less visible though still there, she had no doubt that a second run would bring about much nicer skin for the child, a benefit for her, and eventualy a nicer coat for herself. Still, she had to be careful. Too much and she would kill the lycan with her medicine. She had already given the child too much for another experiment immediately after, even the regrowth potion could be a risk if introduced without food. She frowned as she cut the final pieces before finally looking at her work. A much healthier coat. Still, she wasn't sure if she had just expected too much or if she was seeing diminishing returns, but there were more scar tissue left than she had originally expected. Ilydia simply let it go, quickly making another batch of the potion before waiting for Niawtu to wake up.

Niawtu awakens once more, but lays there quietly for a long time. When she finally stirred she moved to stand up, causing a couple of bones to make a stiff cracking noise as she does so. The child then shakes off, frost flipping off of her. She felt a bit different, but she couldn't name it. "Ilydia? We done yet?" she says, her voice lined with the continuous exhaustion of the potions.

Ilydia kindly handed Niawtu a potion to drink, "No more experiments for now. Just stay here and be safe, we wouldn't want you to be captured again. And eat, you will need your strength." Ilydia smiled and placed some food on the 'table' before she looked around, tossing a large burlap sack at Niawtu. "Sleep in there just in case someone finds you."

Niawtu nods and says "Er... What about my blindfold? And can I shift back to my human form?" she seemed to be growing a bit more alert now.

Ilydia thought for a moment and figured that it really didn't matter. "Do as you please, we'll move you to a better spot later. Just don't leave, I'll be watching."

Niawtu uses a flick of the paw to pull of her blindfold and turns back into a human form, with wolf ears but that was normal. Nia's pontailed hair was a bit shorter than before, but she didn't notice. Unfortunately for Nia she forgot to close her eyes, from sleepiness. So now two wraith eye, black where it was supposed to be white and having irises that look like two silver metal disks now look out upon Ilydia. This would show, for anyone who's seen other wraiths eyes, that she is the wraith girl.

Ilydia sighed, "Silly child, at least hide yourself better." She moved to the girl to shut her eyes with a soft hand movement before leaving, or perhaps just stalking the outside.

Niawtu is paralyzed for a second when she realizes she showed her eyes, and soon goes back to where her satchel was sitting, pulling the black mask out. She then goes to the table, and drinks what she was told to, then eats as she was told. She was smart enough to not disagree with someone who was, pretty much, holding her captive.
