RP:I Love Your Skin, May I Have It?
Summary: Meri encounters an odd woman in the forest who tries to steal her skin.
Deep Forest
Meri wanders through the trees with a very lost and confused look on her face - no surprise. Just about everything and everyone was confusing to the tattooed blonde at this point. Outside of that, very little has changed about Meri. Still the same tall, blonde and tattooed woman with her very not girly appearances as you would expect to see from her. Boots, pants, the like. Clutched within the grasp of two hands is a map, drawn by Emi, meant to guide Meri to her farmhouse in Gaulon where they had agreed to meet sometime this weekend. Sure that was a ways off but Meri wanted to get a bit of a jump start in trying to familiarize herself with the various areas. There was a time when the woman didn't need a map to get her around, but the woman had been away awhile, so I guess it is not entirely out of place.
Revan :: Hidden beneath the lush overhanging branches of the sage forest tucked away from sight is a figure of malevolent evil with his glowing blue eyes staring at Meri far from her sight unwilling to reveal himself until her trial has come to pass. The woods are alive with the singing of birds and the shuffling of leaves beneath skittering creature's feet until a sharp bird's cry submits the rest of the wildlife into silence. Standing on the forest floor just a mere ten feet in front of Meri is a beautiful white necked raven who tilts his head examining her with those beady black eyes taking in every single detail of her appearance.
Meri freezes the second the sounds of the forest are silenced by the white-necked Raven in the forest. Blue eyes are quickly drawn to the source of the noise, locking on the bird that is just a few feet away from her. Meri holds her ground to study the bird that is clearly watching her in return. Her left hand releases its hold on the map, leaving the piece of paper to be clutched in her right. Both hands, however, fall down to her sides as she focuses on the rather lovely bird, oblivious to any other presence. I mean? There might be some sort of nagging feeling but I'll be darned if the psion isn't doing a fine job of ignoring her senses and instincts. Realistically, though, there is only so long Meri is going to admire the wildlife. After a brief stint, she'll try and circle around the raven and return to trying to figure out what wrong turn she took where.
Revan :: The raven doesn't break it's stare on Meri, shifting it's head to the other side once or twice during their odd little stand off though the charade is suddenly broken by an odd sound to the left. The sound is a mixture of cracking and grinding that could be compared to a bear digging it's claws into the bark of a tree and the truth is actually quite close to that initial conclusion, when Meri would turn to spot the source of the sound she would see a girl with long flowing black hair that moves in a wave on it's own accord and a crooked neck peeking from around a tree with just her head, shoulder and hand visible, the latter of which is digging it's long jagged nails into the bark of the tree leaving deep creases in the wood. The glowing white eyes of the woman are unblinking as the stares to Meri with a blank expression, a feeling of dread taking over as the world around them seems to distort.
Meri does break her stare, at least until she hears that strange mixture of crackling and grinding. That is most certainly enough to pull the woman's gaze back in the direction of the bird. At least, she was expecting to see a bird but by the time those blue eyes return to that point...Just what the heck? From bird to girl and one that is rather creepy. Even before her accident? It is something that Meri would have been unnerved by. Booted feet have Meri backing up now, wanting to distance herself from said girl but not quite willing to turn her back on this thing to break into a full run. She wants to though, amnesiac Meri seems to be a bit of a coward.
Revan :: As Meri begins her retreat the girl breaks away from behind the tree to reveal her full form which is just as broken and abused as her neck. Her approach is rapid and the only way to describe her movements is that it's noise, popping and white static fill the sound waves as the girl blinks closer and closer to Meri in distorted leaps until she is right up on her gripping the tattooed woman's wrist in her hand. As the girl speaks her voice carries a similar distortion that scratches against Meri's ear drum, "I-lov*e-YouR~Sk*In. M-A*Y I H-havEE it?" Her free hand raises an index finger with a jagged black nail that presses against Meri's arm and pulls down peeling the flesh from it's place causing blood to fall and stain the forest floor.
Meri turned to run the moment that thing began to close the distance between them but it would seem that Meri would not get far with her attempts to escape. The girl soon had hold of Meri's wrist and was dragging that nail down her arm to peel away her flesh. A gasp slips passed red lips as blood trickles down her arm, staining it and all of her colors a rather odd shade. It's not red that Meri bleeds but black -- the only indication that perhaps Meri was never really the human that she claims to be. Of course, Meri's memory is shot to s*** so it is not like she could defend or explain. Coward as she may want to be, now that the face of danger is real and right on her she's got no choice but to deal with the demon in front of her though the attempts are going to start meager. They will begin with Meri trying to wrench her arm free from her assailant? Ideally before she slices up any more of that full sleeve tattoo of hers. "No, no you may not," comes the verbal response. Her map is shoved into the pocket of her jacket so that it frees up a limb, allowing her to reach for a dagger that she brandishes toward er assailant, threatening but not actually attacking, "Let me go. Let. Me. Go."
Revan :: The girl frowns, if it could be called that, as Meri begins to jerk away though the smile is quick to reappear as she spots the black blood that spills from the woman's wound. The dagger greeted with great enthusiasm as she leans forward to stick her tongue out and run it down the edge of the blade slicing herself open as the same color blood begins to pour from her mouth as her free hand reaches around to place itself on Meri's back to pull her into a hug before that deafening voice rings out again, "W*eE AAAA-Re Siz-ste*Rs! MeR~I!" The excitement on her face blossoming as she glitches twice resetting her neck up and back.
Meri is NOT cool with being hugged by la creepa. The moment those arms wrap themselves about Meri's torso, panic sets in. Before Meri even has a chance to push the girl away from her and out of that personal bubble space that was presently being invaded, a crackle of energy is released in a wave that would hopefully throw Meri's weird wannabe little sister away from her. It wasn't a physical push but an involuntary mental push thanks to abilities Meri is not entirely aware she has nor does she fully control. If Meri is able to gain even the slightest bit of leeway with this and able to break free from this hug, you can bet your bottom that Meri was going to turn heel and high tail it out of there. She likes her skin right where it is, thank you very much. Especially since the girl so weirdly knows her name? No thank you! Do want to run.
Revan :: The girl is knocked back by the psionic blast though her form shatters upon impact to the dirt only to reappear in front of Meri as she sprints away, this time she wouldn't be so kind. Opening her bloodied mouth to reveal teeth shaped like razor blade she releases a hellish scream that cracks and sounds like that ringing you get your ears amplified by one hundred, she then lunges with both hands towards Meri's throat with the goal of digging those disgusting nails right into her vocal cords to rip them from their home.
Meri had the hope that she would be able to escape from this nightmare without further damage to her pretty little self. Those hopes are quickly shattered and that is made painfully evident by the expression held on Meri's face. It goes ghost white the moment she sees the creature in front of her rather than in the distance behind. There is only so fast Meri can go from a full on sprint to a sudden stop and her footwork isn't so sharp anymore that she is easily able to side step and avoid. Nope. What happens instead is that Meri and the girl that is so intent on her skin collide, knocking Meri off her feet and onto the flat of her back. This gives the creature a pretty open window to claw and maul all she wants but Meri isn't just going to lay there. The girl would be hard pressed to get in a clean shot to go for the vocal chords with Meri's arms trying to shield, deflect and bat away those claws....but she is definitely doing a fine job of slicing into Meri's forearms, and easily more.
Revan :: The assault is ruthless, brutal and full of gore as the flesh is sliced and diced with heavy chunks falls off the meat to the ground and the black blood of Meri's spilling all over her chest, neck and face. The girls screech doesn't stop for the entirety of the attack and she lunges with her razor teeth to take a clean chunk of the woman's arm as a tasty snack while her right hand moves to dig into her side.
Meri 's teeth grind together each time those claws rake into her skin. While Meri doesn't full on scream, unlike the thing currently on the attack, she can be heard loosing the occasional grunt or whimper. These sounds are easily drowned out by her attacker's scream. It would that little more fight is going to come from Meri, like she might just lay there and let herself be sliced up into little chunks and bits but fm she finally managed to get a second wind, enough to try and flip said girl off of her by grounding the flats of her booted feet and pushing her hips upward with a bit of a twist. If that goes as planned for Meri, she'll try and strive for the upper hand in what some might consider to be a cheap move. She goes for a fistful of fair and if she a manages to get that much within her clutch? She'll try and repeatedly slam la creepa's head into the earth they are tumbling about on. Maybe Meri will daze it enough for an escape? Poor amnesiac Meri who never did anything mean to Tyler while he was alive! And this is what she gets for it? Psh. Rude.
Revan :: Meri manages to grab the distorted girl by the hair and repeatedly slams her head against the ground each blow crushing her skull further and further, morphing it into something that resembled that of a discarded aluminum can. The creature's own black blood spurted out of her punished head like a fountain until on a final hit her entire body exploded into that dark liquid covering Meri in bodily fluids. Standing before her now is a figure dressed in dark black robes with the white neck raven resting up his shoulder, the entire area surrounding them shrouded in darkness that prevents the tattooed woman from fleeing though she'd be relieved to find all of her flesh intact though the blood is just now beginning to fade away. "You don't remember, do you?" the creature calls out in a rasp and broken voice, glowing blue eyes peering from beneath the hood that hides all of his other features.
Meri pushes herself to her feet in a panic when the skull of the distorted girl begins to crack, leaving Meri covered in the blood of her foe. It was a little unsettling, to say the very least. Just when she Meri thought she was starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, the robbed figure manifests before her. There goes that light. Distance is placed between herself and this newest figure, blood dripping trickling down her person and hitting the earth in little droplets. If there is any reality to the injuries Meri sustained, already innate abilities are working to heal her injuries at a rate faster than expected for a human. Miracles would be done right before Revan's eyes, Meri would not be healed in an instant...But her body was already feeding off of the life around her, draining it for its own selfish need to mend itself. "No...I do not, how do you know that? Should I know you?"
Revan approaches Meri at a slow pace, the woman unable to move under some sort of spell binding her in place. Standing a mere two feet in front of her an idle hand reaches up to pull the hood from his head revealing a young light skinned male with messy blue hair as it falls. As he locks eyes with the tattooed woman an illusion is broadcast into her mind in a dream sequence the event unfolding to show the human before her engaged in combat with a tusked troll that knocks him onto a table who's occupants are a reflection of herself and an annoying little pixie, it continues to show Meri helping the human to his feet before the dream ceases leaving the two of them in the void once more. "No", he calls out in a different voice this time, Tyler's voice as his hand emerges from beneath his robe sleeve to reveal a beautiful white rose clutched in his grasp. Extending his hand to offer the gift to the woman the force holding her in place weakens on her arms so that she may take the flower. "Take this and you will be free, unharmed." A pause as he shifts his gaze between each of her eyes awaiting her decision.
Revan gave 1 white rose to Meri.
Meri is captivated by a few fleeting memories of what was and in a way that no one has been able to communicate them yet. It was one thing to be told about what once was but it was another to have the memories so vividly penetrate the mind. Still? There was that nagging and inescapable wondering if how much truth there was in what she was being shown. Despite this nagging feeling, the woman reaches out for the rose at Revan's encouraging. Blue eyes are locked in the illusion that once was Tyler, the memories helped but outside of that? Her recognition was nonexistent. "I do know you," she says, despite the denial, as the rose is taken between the clutch of two fingers. It is right about this time that she looks down to see that she is fine, no blood, no injuries. Another unexpected twist in this ordeal that has Meri a little shaken up. "Why would you do this?"
Revan seems almost saddened by Meri's question, she was the first victim to extract such an emotion from the man and he simply shakes his head at her then reaches up to tuck her hair behind her ear. "Whenever you need to escape from reality, pluck a petal from the flower and I will take you away... Don't worry, you will be returned and you will suffer no consequence for needing help. I-I'm sorry about your memory, Meri..." Then as quickly as it all started, it stops. Revan, the raven, the darkness, it all faded away without a trace excluding the single white rose the woman held in her hands.
Meri is visibly shaken up, as in the woman is visibly shaking right now. Be that from fear of this attack (a small bit) or the fact that someone was able to give her mind a taste of what was (more likely the case), the woman is a bit of an emotional wreck. One that is going to turn in stunned silence away from where Revan and the Raven were, any direction will do, and then feet will carry her and the rose off in that direction.
