Part of the The Dust Up In Cenril Arc

Summary: Hudson meets with Blut to reach an arrangement regarding protection for his operations, now that Emelyan and he have dissolved their partnership.

Whaler's

Given recent internal hostilities between himself and Emelyan, and the fact that it's tearing their business down the middle, Hudson had thought to establish a relationship with some local muscle. At least to create a conflict of interests before Emelyan could think to do the same. Not that he's worried (but he is, a little). Hudson had reached out to Blut through the same channels he'd used before, for the botched rescue of Valrae (in retrospect, although that had not gone as planned, perhaps for Hudson's personal life it had been for the best). He'd set the meeting at the greasy diner in Cenril that he's using for business these days. You develop a relationship with the waitstaff after awhile. He's there on the premises first, in the booth all the way to the back of the place, nursing a coffee.

Blut approached Hudson as a regular small child as a small boy. The boy jumped up on the seat as he sat down. Blut looked up as Hudson as the illusion broke apart as the boy transformed into the black garbed assassin that Hudson expected. Blut was confused as to why he was called out again he didn't care that Hudson told him so save someone who wasn't there but was confused to why he was called back. Blut spoke quitely not to allow his emotions to show "well we meet again the last job didn't go too good why call me back" Blut asked. Stareing stoicly at the man the hood shrouding his face in shadows. Blut put down some gems as he pushes them towards the man. "this should cover for some of the expesnes you paid me but I'm keeping the rest." Blut explained as those expenses went into infiltrateing the prision.

Hudson knows from prior experience with Blut that appearances can be deceiving, and so while his natural instinct (being a father) is to smile at the kid, he's not altogether surprised when the kid turns out to be the assassin. "Hey," he greets the other man, looking behind him to call for the waitress to offer him some coffee. The sound of gems on the table pull his attention back to Blut, and Hudson shakes his head in the manner of a man who's tired of a subject. "I know, thank you," he says, discreetly sweeping the gems into his hand for safekeeping into his pocket. The waitress has joined them, now, and wants to know if Blut will be having anything. Hudson orders a bagel, just to get something else on the tab. He waits for the woman to take Blut's order and depart before addressing the assassin again: "I want to establish a treaty between your people and my people. I can pay you in product."

Blut crossed his arms as he asked for just a cup. Unless he's sitting at the bar desk he doesn't take any drinks from the house. He simply doesn't trust people he doesn't have a eye on. "You wish for a alliance between gangs huh. What's driven you so far that you need to seek our help." Blut asks as the waitress returns with their food and cup before bowing and leaveing. "And if you really want our help product ain't gonna cut it we don't have the people to make profit from the distribution of it." Blut takes out a bottle of red wine out of a satchle as he pours himself a drink. " Blut took a drink from his cup before refilling it placeing the cup inbetween between the two men. "I'm gonna need more than product if I'm gonna be risking the lives of my men and if yours stories good may even knock down the price a little." Blut bargened 18 men isn't enough to distribute drugs or trade on their own but it is a big enough number to act as guards every member of the triad is well trained in their trade Blut has faith in their abilitys.

Hudson lets a sigh rumble in his throat, and he slumps back in his booth and reaches for his coffee, eyeing Blut over the lip of the mug. Astute. "My partner and I are on the outs, it's just a precaution. Everything else about my operation is the same but he's a dangerous guy," he says. He drinks from his mug and turns Blut's response around his head, feeling out the obvious truth he'd run up against: what really is Blut gonna do with product, he doesn't have the infrastructure/an Eleanor to move it. "Literally just need you guys to be available in case something happens, and to keep your eyes open and ears to the ground," Hudson expands on the ask. "I'll pay you 2% of gross sales just to do that," he suggests. "And then on an as-needed basis we'll re-negotiate costs. For example I'll pay you ten thousand to find a guy for me in Larket. I want him alive." Leaning over the table, Hudson describes the man who had accosted himself and Alvina over dinner one evening, and whose voice Alvina had later recalled as being among the men who had tried to snatch her from their home.

Blut rubbed his chin with his hand closeing his eyes to make a decision. "I can do it for 3%, some of my men have familys to feed and my men are very high quality one of mine are probably worth five of yours." Blut explained personally going through the effort of training and ensureing that they were fit for the job "I've already got men on the ground listening into every conversation they run into I'm expecting a report relatively soon so I'll fill you in what they've heard if you want." Blut asked takeing another sip of wine "and this man who you want me to find you got a picture or a name. Perhaps you can show me one of your people who personally had a run in with him it would help alot with my search." Blut remembered the last time someone made him do something similar he spent months in the sewers just trying to find footprints of the right guy. "and any clue on his race?" Blut asked makeing sure to get every last detail.

Hudson nods. "That would be helpful," he says, drinking from his mug once more. He rubs his breakup beard, wincing into his hand, as Blut asks for an eye witness to the man who'd bothered Alvina. Literally the only witnesses he can think of immediately are himself and Alvina, and if he sends scary assassin man Blut Alvina's way....... she will be so angry he might never see his children again. This separation is, as ever, annoying. Then, he thinks of something. "The guy actually bothered me and the mother of my children when we were out to dinner," he remarks, pulling himself upright a bit to grab a notepad and pen. He rips out a sheet of paper and writes the address for the place. "It's definitely some wise guy in Larket so the staff aren't going to say they remember him at all," says Hudson, with a sigh, "but it's worth a shot. Don't actually hurt anyone you talk to, but if you gotta scare someone, well...." He winces a little, as if to say, sometimes, weeeeell, you gotta...

Blut took the paper as he folded and placed it within his notebook. "I'll handle this with the utmost discrepensy. Who do you want me to send it to when I actually got the man. Also who do you want me to send my combat unit to look after then." Blut asked takeing out a different notebook filled with names and a ink pot and quill pen. "And who's the man we got to talk to about the gold transfer."

Hudson drains the last of his coffee, his mind already jumping ahead to what he'll do once Blut has taken the guy into custody. It's a violent scene. "Send word to the Office, the strip club? I own it," he replies. He provides the address, for Blut's information, and then also provides the address of his home (which he's not living in, due to mob violence) and the nail salon he and his confederates operate in Larket. "Just have some guys look after those properties," he says. "Crystal at the Office will pay you," he adds, making a mental note to tell his favorite dancer later. With things being what they are, Crystal (that is obviously a stripper name) is quickly assuming a lot of managerial responsibility. These days, her good attitude and sense for organization is sorely needed.

Blut nodded his head as he wrote the information down "alright and who do you want my guys to watch over and finally anyone I should be aware of rivals, potential leaks anything of the sort. Would hate to give the wrong info to the wrong guy." Blut explained, it was a pain when employers left out people that he should know about so he made sure to make a point about them.

Hudson glance behind Blut, as if concerned that by speaking the man's name aloud he'd summon him. "Emelyan, about ye high," he gestures to the height of a child. "He's dangerous. Careful. Don't hurt him, just keep an eye for now. That's the only rival here... There's the guy in Larket but he seems low on the hierarchy, we don't know whom he reports to. We gotta learn more soon, hopefully, if you can snatch him. You good, man?" Hudson extends a hand across the table, to shake on it.

Blut chuckles he's made deals and done jobs for the man named Emelyan as he extends his arm to return the shake "looks like we have a bright future ahead of us." Commented as he turned back into a child and began to make his exit giveing no indication that this innocent looking child was the deadly assassin.
