Have you ever had frog meat? It was cheaper than the trout, but… well. Now don’t laugh at me. I know they say The Grenouille Parasite is a myth, but. Oh dear Sven, I’m killing my own appetite just thinking about it.

No, you probably don’t want to know, really. Well, they say it’s a parasite that was created by a naga shaman. As the story goes, there was a shaman of ill-repute. A hag of a naga, but a very talented witch in her own right. Possibly the best in her time. People would sell their first born to her in exchange for their strongest desires - and indeed, some say she did take a child once. It’s all ghastly, but… well, you asked about the Grenouille Parasite.

As the story goes, the naga was in possession of some rare and exotic regents - some were one of a kind and nearly impossible to source. One such regent was the egg sacs of a rare, magical frog monster. The name escapes me, but it’s a naturally occurring magical beast, like a Chimera. Only this frog is no larger than your thumb, vivid green in color, and extremely hard to find. They say there are less than 200 of these frogs beasts on the whole of the planet. Though they have many eggs, it could take up to 7 years for one of these egg sacs to mature, and it’s very likely the entire sac will turn out to be stillborns.

So this naga witch has one such prized and rare sac. A rival shaman, in need of the sac but unable to convince the hag to sell it, stole it from her. Infuriated, the hag set about getting her revenge. They say she created a monster - a parasite with which to infect the thief witch. The thief was known for her love of frog legs and frequented a restaurant which prepared them perfectly to her taste. The hag, disguised as a waitress, slipped the parasite into the frog leg’s meat.

The next day, the thief awoke and saw a rash on her arm. It looked like normal hives. On the second day, the hives were bigger and looked like boils. None of her salves had any effect in curing the rash and she couldn’t identify the cause. On the third day, the boils sank into her flesh and looked like circular grooves, netted over by her own skin - like really deep acne scars. On the fourth day… the holes started to wriggle.

Within a few hours, one by one, out of the holes wriggled little tadpoles, slick and covered in pus, alive inside her flesh! They fell into the water and swam away. They say the tadpoles were pregnant with more parasite and the parasite lives on today, infecting any who eat it, only to be born in their victims’ living flesh.
