RP:Graveyard Robbers

From HollowWiki

Synopsis: Rinn and Lanara meet up in Larket and decide to have a mischievous adventure. The gal pals decide to 'rob' a newly dug grave, when they are intercepted by a guard. Quick thinking allows them to take down the unsuspecting guard, and run off with the loot of the recently deceased.

Rinn was garbed in all black as she travelled the Larket streets using the shadows of the buildings paired with the setting sun. Her electric gaze ever watchful as she filtered through the villagers, she kept her head down as she didn't wish to bring attention to herself which also explained the hood. Though a certain witch caught her eye which pulled a smile upon her lips. Quickly and quietly she approached the woman with a devilish glint playing upon her features, Hello there. She greeted noting the woman to be alone, Please tell me you are looking for some trouble. She said wishfully for that was how the grave robber loved the witch the most.

Lanara meanders aimlessly through the town of Larket, sighing, as she was growing quite bored. The lands had lost their luster, as of late, and the witch was growing restless, with an unsatiated ache to stir up some mischief. Donning a knee-length, form fitting black leather dress, and thigh high black boots, she runs a fingerless gloved hand through her long dark locks, before adjusting the witch hat, atop her pretty head. As she’s approached by Rinn, she turns to meet the woman’s gaze, and nods, enthusiastically. “Ah! You are just what the doctor ordered! Shall we?” A wicked grin plastered on her face, she links her arm through the grave robber’s. “Lead the way.”

Rinn clapped her hands ever so quietly before she would hook her arm with Lanara's, I hope you don't have too much of a guilty conscience. She confessed as she pondered to show Lanara her guilty pleasure of grave robbing. It wasn't that she needed the coin as much as it was the thrill of her own hunt and taking what she wasn't allowed. I was just about to go to work as it were. She stated shimmying her shoulders to imply a full back pack with the responding ruckus. She lead Lanara happily back the other direction towards the town’s cemetery. Just as the sun fully sets... She tagged on.

Lanara shrugs her slender shoulders, ever so slightly, and gives Rinn a sidelong glance. “Hm… Depends on what you have in mind. As long as I’m not harming children or animals, all is fair game.” The soft thudding of their shoots against pavement, goes even quieter, as the woman step over the threshold of turf, and slow their steps, somewhat. Eyeing the grassy underfoot, cracked headstones, and nearly full setting sun, Lana’s smile widens. They were in a graveyard! Knowing that grave robbing was a hobby of some in the lands, and that there was a chance for gold, as well as tools for her spell-work, had the elf elated. “What a wonderful idea, Rinn!” She murmurs, as she lowers her grasp from the woman’s arm, and waits for further instruction. “I have never done this before.”

Rinn beamed at the woman's reactions to her stomping grounds. She found peace for a moment before she unhooked her arm from Lanara's. Her hand dipped into her leather dusters pocket and retrieved a scrap of paper, We are looking for... She paused to squint momentarily in the dark, Michelle Alberneen. Apparently she died just this week, means the grounds still soft. Usually off towards the back. She suggested jutting her chin to the far west end, the direction her feet followed, Haven't seen you much. I trust all is well. She inquired nonchalantly to the fact they were actually about to dig up a body.

Lanara follows at Rinn’s side, matching the woman’s pace, step for step. The graveyard, though eerie, brought calmness over the women, as though they were at peace by being surrounded by the dead. Lana has a split second of guilt for what they are about to do, when she half shrugs, and surveys the graveyard. They were alone, it was now night, and it wasn’t like the dead were going to awaken and lay claim to their goods. Finders, keepers. The elf responds to the red heads inquiry, speaking softly, just in case there was someone else lurking in the dark. “I am well, and yes, it has been too long since we’ve last spoke. Not much has occurred, I’m afraid, since then. I was growing bored… Until you came along. How have you been?” Lana’s voice trails off as they arrive a few feet from the headstone, marked ‘Alberneen’.

Rinn greeted the tombstone cheerfully and with a grand gesture, Well hello Miss Alberneen. She swung her backpack from her back allowing it to thud upon the ground. The material of her rucksack looked like some grey hide though it was hard to tell the species or race. Her fingers busied at the straps unhooking her sparta from the bag and tossing it to the side before she began to rummage inside the bag for a smaller shovel, I've been alright I suppose. I took a job that had me away for two months and since I have been back I haven't heard from or seen Garrett. I don't know what that means. She replied actually puzzled to the fact she was having her first girl talk, And a man from my past in back in the lands, She sighed, What's a girl to do? She asked motioning her words with the small shovel in hand, Wasn't expecting help tonight, sorry it's a bit small. She noted tossing her friend the tool. I'm sure we can tie a branch to the handle so you don't break your back, unless you see a shovel lying around here. It wasn't uncommon for the workers to leave tools about the cemetery; there were always people dying and upkeep to manage. So she rose to her feet scooping up her shovel and placed the spade into the earth while stepping upon the edge of her tool. Her weight slid the iron into the unpacked dirt like butter which sparked her imagination on what they could find.

Lanara doesn’t seem to mind that she is holding a small shovel, as she drops to her knees and rapidly begins to dig in the dirt. Dirt clings to boots and the hem of her dress, though the tomboy in her didn’t seem to mind, at all. At the hint of girl talk, Lana rolls her chocolate brown eyes and laughs. “Ugh, men! Can’t live with them, or without them! And come to think of it… I haven’t seen Garrett since that scuffle in Frostmaw, where we all first met. Hm… How dare he leave without a word!” Shaking her head, the two continue to dig, eager to find some riches, when they both seem to hit the top of the coffin. Lana rises to her feet, tosses the shovel to the side, and dusts the debris from her legs and dress, looking up at Rinn. “And a man from your past has returned? Well… I say go for whoever your heart is more drawn to, ultimately it’s your decision. Don’t have any qualms over hurting someone else; it’s your heart at stake…” Pausing, she eyes the coffin, as Rinn prepares to open the lid. “I have feelings for Krice… Though he doesn’t return them, to me. But it’s alright. Who needs a man when I have pets, friends, and activities like this to keep me occupied!?”

Rinn was enjoying their bonding, Krice seems like a hard one to get through. She said before agreeing with her, Men. She repeated just as a male's voice sliced through the still atmosphere around them calling out, Who's there! the voice made Rinn jump, Get down. She instructed in a hushed tone as she lay on top of the coffin. This wouldn't be her first issue with this graveyard, We got to stop him before he calls for back up. She thought out loud knowing the last time she was caught they wanted her hand.

Lanara hisses at the sound of the guard and lies beside Rinn, atop the dirt clod coffin. As footsteps near, Lana exchanges a brief glance with Rinn, knowing full and well that the night patrolman would spy the disturbed grave and come to investigate. What would they do, now?! Lana didn’t even have any weapons with her, and though she controlled magic, she knew that casting anything unnatural would draw a larger crowd for them to fend off. Weighing her options as the man grows nearer, she launches herself into the air and collides against him, right before he shines his torch-light on their hidden forms. As her figure collides against the male’s, catching him off guard, the elf glances back at Rinn. “Let’s get him!”

Rinn went wild eyed for a moment as Lana sprung into action catching the little grave robber off guard momentarily. Quickly she too leapt from the dug up grave with shovel in hand. She knocked the guardsman on the head that only made the man swagger angrily after the two, though it did hurt like hell. He lunged towards the red head shoving Rinn back into the hole as he attempted to next pin the witch down. Rinn again scrambled from the grave and begun digging in her bag for rope to hog tie him with, We can throw him in the coffin! She called rushing to Lana's aid.

Lanara knees the male in the groin, harder than was necessary, and watches as the burly male’s face contorts with extreme pain. After moaning in agony, he lowers his grasp from Lana’s arms and clutches what remains of his privates. Providing the perfect distraction, the witch claps her hands in glee, and grabs the other end of the rope, aiding Rinn in hog-tying the man, for merely doing his job. “This should do it! I will hold him, and you open the coffin. We will take out her body, and throw his in!”

Rinn cackled and hopped back into the grave looting the older woman of her jewelry, Damn she must have been rich. She commented removing a gold ring from each finger and swiping the fancy broach and pendent, Naw they can just share the space...But first take his belongings, too. Saves me the trouble later. She thought about the poor man's fate, We can leave a note on the way out, but for now...

Lanara and the guard have a glaring match, before the woman pats him down, and plucks a few gold coins from his pockets. She also removes a gold chain from around his neck, and waits for Rinn to step aside, before she gives the male a rough shove, into the whole. The man lands on top of the newly deceased and begins to whimper, trying to fight the ropes that bound him. Lana waits for Rinn to seal the coffin, as she retrieves her shovel. “That was successful!” She mutters, grinning.

Rinn giggled and quickly shut the coffin lid and climbed out to shovel dirt back in the grave, Quick let’s get out of here. She snatched up her bag and tools before she grabbed Lanara's wrist and headed for the exit. She would pause a moment to leave the piece of parchment at the guard post.

Lanara clutches Rinn’s appendage and the two run out of the graveyard with their loot, giggling softly. As the note was left at the guard post, Lana hands the chain and the gold out to Rinn, giving the loot solely to her. “It’s yours. Thank you for a fun evening. I just needed to get out, you know? That is payment enough! And I did get some good samples of graveyard dirt, for my spells!”
