RP:Eye of Inner Sight

From HollowWiki

Kurlurk had followed the directions sent to him by the Shaman’s of Gualon thanks only to the Imp who knew to read and navigate. The whole way there he would grumble about the smart Imp and how one day he would catch him and eat him for a snack. Finally he would arrive in the Shaman’s household. Two Shaman were there, each of them upon the swampy like ground that would always be found in Gualon. “Come Kurlurk, join us for a healing.” The Arena Brawler would step forward and as instructed he would sit between the Shaman as he had done many times before. On his last visit they had given the Orc a gift he believed was from the gods. A single large rune on the upper left of his chest, burnt into the hide of the Orc, the procedure had been painful, but he had endured as he would now. “Close your eyes and concentrate on the power within.” The other Shaman would say. He would, closing his eyes and concentrating on the inner strength that always drove him, the one thing he wanted now more than ever, to lead the Orc’s of Gualon. Meanwhile the two Shaman would work, each of them chanting incantations as they waved their hands about the Orc’s body. The many wounds upon the Orc from the last few days of battle would begin to heal, the saw like cuts on his legs would heal first, the skin stretching as it was regenerated by the Shaman’s magic. This would be repeated on the rest of his body as well, and with each heal his hide would harden as was customary to the actions of Orc Physiology. Next would come his face, the whole of the right side was badly burnt and from it many shards of nails and other metals stuck outward. His eye was scorched closed, he hoped it could be healed and when the shaman’s called him to come he knew it would be. Still concentrating on that one goal, the pain of the healing was nothing to him, for it was essential to move foreword. “This eye is badly damaged, what should we do brother?” the shaman would ask the other. “Lets continue on, but lets bestow our champion with the power that we discussed before. The wound almost calls for it,” the other Shaman would nod in agreement and the style of incantations would suddenly change as they continued, each of them weaved the magic bestowed upon them, commanding the powers to act in a certain way and indeed they would do so. The pain the Orc was feeling before would intensify as the shrapnel was forced from his skin to fall upon the earth. The burns would heal for the most part aside for the worst of it around his right eye. Then the pain would continue to grow as his eye lid would open up and the ghost white of the eye would begin to glow. Kurlurk gripped hard at the small trunk of a tree that had been handed to him before, the trunk easily crushing in his monstrous grip. He howled in pain as the magics began to continue, a red marking began to carve itself into his eye where the iris may have once been. As if being chiseled into a hard metal the rune would appear on the white of the eye in an volcanic magma colored rune. The shouts and hollers of pain would echo through the region as the rune was finished. Finally the incantations would stop, their hand movements and signs would end and they would now rest upon their legs as they seated themselves to the front and back of the Orc once more. “My brother, explain to him the gift we have given him,” the other would nod and began to speak even though Kurlurk had clamped his hands to his face, hoping in some way to help dull the pain. “Kurlurk, your eye was beyond our repair without calling on the higher of our powers. Your eye will no longer work as it did before, it has been advanced, from now on when you look through that eye you shall see all that is hidden, illusions shall not hinder you, a fake face would be useless against you, ones inner power revealed before its use, all this and more you shall see.” During the explanation the other Shaman would stand and wrap the right of his head in a bandage after removing the Orc’s hand from his face. “This power is great, the gods smile upon you once more Kurlurk.” A few moments would pass and Kurlurk would stand once more and turn to face the two Shaman with his one good eye. “Kurlurk thank you, me win for Gualon, we win for Gods!” he would announce in his brutish tongue. Turning he would wait until he left the area before clamping a hand back to his face, the pain still hurting him. The whole of the procedure had taken a couple hours and now he would hide himself amongst the people of Gualon, perhaps even leaving his home town as he awaited his eye to fully heal so that he may return to take on whoever was next to challenge him.
