Frostmaw

Daisy is sprawled out on her guardian row boat... er... I mean couatl. He's just as big as a row boat, though. Sweet thing has grown so much bigger and faster than his siblings. Makes him a little weary that there's something wrong with him, but Daisy assures him that everyone is different and that he is meant to be strong so he can protect her. This makes him beam with pride and purpose so he frets no more. Where was I? Oh right. So the couatl travels along with his little ward on his back. She is sprawled out and napping while they travel, stirring only when he stops. There is a little kitten yawn from a little kitten mouth and a little kitten stretch of little kitten arms. "Here?" The couatl turns his head to nudge her side. "Yes, here."

Svilfon is standing out of Frostmaw itself, though not too far. The entrance to the city is clearly in view, and standing close, though not too close, are two Frost Giant guards. They keep an eye on the area while Svilfon stands around, tapping his finger against his chin while a midnight black cat wanders at his feet, occasionally rubbing against his shins with its head. It is his matagot, L'or. It usually follows the wizard around when he's thinking about something... not sure why, Svilfon is still convinced that watching a cat - even if it's not actually a cat, it just looks like one - but watching it nevertheless is so relaxing it helps his mind find answers. He would prefer to have Alahir with him, but the couatl has appeared busy of late, and vague on detailing why. But he's content enough with the matagot; it's good at sniffing out treasure, perhaps it can sniff out answers, too.

Daisy lets out a nervous and heavy sigh. You promised, kitten. Mamoru wants to try and you promised you'd let him. Time to get over yourself, kitten! What would the Queen say if she knew you were such a... a... a... fraidy cat!? She'd say, 'What a fraidy cat!' is what she'd say. Come now. You went up with the wizard once. Mamoru will keep you safe. Oh! Speaking of the wizard. What a coincidence! There he is now! Oh. With another feline. Not of the sort Daisy is, but she can't help but to feel a little ping of jealousy watching the black cat mark Svilfon in that territorial manner. "We should say hello, Mamoru. It is only polite." And stalling. Don't forget stalling. Standing up on the couatl's head, she waves and calls out. "Svilfon!"

Svilfon turns slowly as his name is called, and despite the bruises mixing with the faint traces of exhaustion written on his face, he smiles while tipping his hat. "Daisy." He grins before offering an elaborate enough bow for any king's court. As he stands once more, the wizard speaks again. "And I see you too, Mamoru, growing bigger fast. Your father would have been proud. I do hope you're keeping her out of trouble." The wizard grins and tips his hat to the couatl, before speaking again to Daisy. "What brings you out here, lady healer?" It appears the two giants who were watching Svilfon know all too well who Daisy is. Or rather, who Mamoru is. Well, them both! And after they'd shared an amused look with each other, they return to surveying the area.

Daisy slides down Mamoru's back, taking care not to clip his little wings, and hops off the side so she can pad through the snow over to her friend. "Mamoru wants to fly." The mentioning of proud fathers makes Mamoru puff out his couatl chest, but it is quickly deflated. He tries to keep her out of trouble. He tries really hard! But she's got a smart mouth and is quite snarky when she's scared. This does not help matters in the least when she's being hunted! "Oh I don't get into trouble," she laughs, making Mamoru roll his eyes. Can couatls do that? Well Mamoru does.

SVilfon grins at the couatl rolling his eyes, which apparently they can do as he's grinning at it! Ahem. “That is like saying I do not get into trouble, miss Daisy. Long you would have to travel to find someone who would believe that lie.” He grins again before nudging with his foot the cat which walks around him. As he pushes it a little further away, the edges of the animal seem to shimmer a touch, and shift to thin tendrils of black, much like smoke, as it moves. It stops only when he, and soon becomes the solid outline of a cat once more. “This is L'or.” The cat doesn't seem interested in introductions. “He guards my finest treasure, and tells me off for not spending my days searching for riches.” The cat only then turns its too-intelligent eyes to Daisy. For a moment it doesn't move, before it turns once in a circle and drops down, curling up to apparently sleep on the cold snow, unbothered by its heat. “He's not very friendly, but it doesn't matter! Not when he wishes to fly. High, I take it...” The wizard lowers his voice to a whisper which Daisy could easily hear as he speaks to Mamoru, “I don't think she likes heights... don't blame me, I caught her again.” After they'd jumped from clouds, of course.

Daisy leans down to greet the cat, but backs away upon discovering the surlyness. "The best treasures have nothing to do with shiny riches," she tells L'or before turning to pout at the whispering wizard. "He knows." And yes. Mamoru does know about Daisy and heights. He has saved her on more than one occasion from tall boulders and -at least twice- has been asked to not hover so high off the ground while they travel. He sighs and presses the top of his head to Svilfon's belly. "I thought I would try. For him." Because she does love her couatl so! And it isn't fair to make him only hover when everyone else gets to fly so high.

Svilfon lifts a hand to rest it comfortably on Mamoru's head before his thumb begins to absently scratch the couatl's head. He offers Daisy a brief grin at her pout even as he nods his head to her. "Flying high is fun! I once flew from Rynvale's ocean to Frostmaw with Satoshi on a couatl. It was fine." He doesn't mention he almost died and was only just saved by Emiur and lady icicle. That isn't the point! "The clouds, Daisy. Did you not enjoy them last time?" The wizard turns then to look at the healer properly. "Was it not fun jumping from them? This time you'll have a couatl to stop you from needing to be caught." He grins again, "You may even enjoy it."

Daisy looks down at her feet that are kicking at the snow in a bashful manner. "I did." She had told Mamoru about the cloud jumping. OH how he wants to go! He leans into the idle petting, looking up at the sky with longing. Decisions! Mamoru makes decisions and gives Svilfon's arm a little butt with his head. A headbutt, if you will. He then goes over to Daisy and scoots under her, slipping the druid onto his back. At once he is next to Svilfon again nudging and looking from the wizard to that spot right behind Daisy.

Svilfon remains motionless as he speaks to the two giants who guard him. "I'll be back. Do not worry, I'll be careful... and no," his words forstalling an inevitable argument, "I will try not to wander on the ground." He tips his hat to them, before kneeling down beside his matagot. He blows on it, much like one would on a candle, and the cat's body seems to fade away into smokey streams which are torn from the area by the winds which always push through Frostmaw. That done, he skips up and jumps on Mamoru's back behind Daisy. Petting the couatl affectionately, he speaks again, "Let's go!" It seems the wizard isn't even remotely scared about the prospect of taking a young couatl on its first real flight high above the snowy mountains. But then again, what's the worst that can happen?!

Daisy practices breathing while Svilfon takes care of his business before they leave. Slow inhale. Slow exhale. They will be just fine, right? Yes. Of course they will. Mamoru has never let her get hurt and surely he is not about to start. Absolutely not! She snuggles between the wizard and couatl, feeling more than safe right now. Especially since they are still on the ground. But not for long! Mamoru has been practicing while the kitten sleeps, you see. He didn't want to fall while she was riding, so he made sure he could get into the air in a safe manner before even attempting to take her along. Oh how he got many a' faces full of snow or grass or water or whatever they happened to be parked next to. But today! Today is for flying right! Up he goes, maybe as high as the treetops, just so Daisy doesn't flip out right away. She squees and looks up at Svilfon, proud and scared at the same time. "I didn't know he could go so high!" Because up until now, he'd only hovered a few feet.

Svilfon appears relaxed enough as the young couatl brings them above the treetops. Surrounded by mountains they still are, but from here the sweeping city of Frostmaw can be seen, along with the forests which surround it, the many cliffs, herds of mammoths, and even Aramoth's Academy. The wizard always enjoyed the views Frostmaw offers. He can feel the land calling to him, a constant reminder that the the weak will be devoured by this place and only the strong can survive. Or the especially cute, for that matter! They can get along just fine, too. When Daisy squees in excitement, the wizard flashes a gap toothed grin back at her – the gaps still visible, despite his beard, which I may not have mentioned yet in this RP because it's somewhat new and sometimes I forget to mention it. But yes, he grins! “He is the son of Emiur, miss Daisy. There is little he cannot do if he tries.” Words which Svil firmly believes. “Come, couatl! Higher!” The wizard tips his hat to no one in particular, happy he is to be here flying with these two.

Daisy 's breath is taken away by the sight of Frostmaw from up here. It really is a beautiful and powerful place. She forgets for a minute how high they are until the wizard suggests they go higher. Her little legs tighten around her guardian and wide eyes biggen even more at the bearded grin. "Higher?" But Mamoru only heard '=D HIGHER!!!' so higher he goes, poofing through a thick cloud to make it explode in a puff of fluff behind them. Higher also means faster, but not so fast that their faces are blown back like in that one speaker commercial.

Svilfon always enjoys the sensation of flying through the clouds of Frostmaw. It's not that he dislikes cold weather, it's more... here above the clouds with nothing but emptiness above them... the vampire likes it. Svil pets Mamoru on the side as they fly, wind tugging at, though thankfully not tugging off, his face, and he speaks in a loud voice to Daisy, "See?! What were you afraid of?" He grins, "Mamoru hasn't even shown us any tricks yet!" Yes, the wizard assumes the couatl has some kind of aerial shenanigans practiced already. If Svil was a couatl, he surely would have!

Daisy decides she likes the way flying whips through her hair and clothes, but she still makes sure she doesn't look down too often. This is fun, but she doesn't want to ruin it by getting scared. Poor Mamoru would feel obligated to land for her sake and he already does so much for her. He can have this. So she just clings to wizard robes and her couatl, still finding comfort in them both. "Maybe he doesn't have any yet." Oh, but the wizard is right! Mamoru has two tricks! For the first, he finds a large cloud and circles it. Round and round he goes, making the cloud smaller and darker and smaller untill POOF! The cloud explodes, sending a raining of confetti snowflake fireworks all around them while he does his second trick of hovering like some sort of helicopter right in the middle of it all. <3

Svilfon sits amidst the couatl-created snowstorm with a grin on his face. Between his beard and his wizard hat, he catches quite a few of them. Or rather, becomes where they land, and soon enough it appears almost like Daisy is sitting in front of Father Winter. He's a guy, right? Well, Svil would look like him if he exists, and if he doesn't, I intented him and he looks like Svil does now. "Of course he has tricks. He's a couatl, and the son of Emiur. They are born to impress those they meet, with splendor and might." Something the wizard has seen first hand a lot, and never tires of it. Especially not when it's snowy confetti, and flying with Daisy. He can relax here, for the first time in quite a while. Many things trouble him on the ground below, but when you can't see the ground, its problems seem small and far away. "We've jumped off clouds, lady healer. And now we've played in them too. Soon enough we'll be following in the lady icicle's shoes, and walking upon them."

Daisy giggles at the snowy man with his snowy beard and snowy hat then looks out at the clouds he claims she could be walking on. It really is hard to be scared when you can't see how far away the ground is. "I'm not as talented as she is." She gives Mamoru a little pet, letting him know how proud she is of his strength and skills. This makes Mamoru purr with happy, pleased to have pleased them both. The confetti thins out and he heads back down, being very careful not to go too fast. But the druid knows and buries her face into the wizard's clothes. "It's okay, Mamoru. You can go fast." And fast he goes! Diving towards the ground in more of a free-fall than actual flying.

Svilfon clenches his legs as the couatl begins to dive to the ground, and instinctively he places barriers within his mind to block any chance Mamoru would have of reading his thoughts, as some couatls can do, though they are usually always polite about it. Nevertheless, having learned the skills required after spending time with Alahir, the wizard bloks his thoughts, then begins to prepare a teleportation spell. If the couatl cannot pull up in time, Svilfon fully intends to teleport all three of them to the lake, where at least water may stop them becoming a cuteness, wizardness and Mamoruness stain on the white snow beneath. But the wizard doesn't want the couatl to know the spell is ready - it's a precaution just in case, but it's far better if the couatl thinks he's swinging without a net. So hanging on, he grins, "See!" his words are ripped away the moment they are free from his mouth, and they join the white tail behind the fast-flying-couatl which comes from the snow and ice blowing off Svil's beard and hat. "It's fun!"

Daisy can only cling and laugh that nervous laughter that happens when you're petrified, but having a good time all the same. "It is fun!" Mamoru doesn't even have time to wander around in their minds. He is too busy concentrating on not killing his passengers! The ground gets closer and closer and Mamoru starts to spin like an arrow. He'll show them! He'll make his ward and the wizard and his father proud! The little druid starts to panic a bit though. "Mamoru..." It is only a whisper that she can't even hear herself, but the couatl knows. He pushes feelings of comfort and safety into her, calming her for only a moment before she realizes the ground is right there. Her scream is muffled as Mamoru wraps himself around the pair, keeping them safe as the hit the ground in a bowling ball manner. They roll and roll, tumbling over that cliff just there where Mamoru stretches out only to hover with them on his back once again. Awww look... a sunset. <3 The hover slowly drifts to the ground until they are settled on the snow once again.

Svilfon grabs hold of Daisy as they soar like a falling arrow towards the ground. He trusts in the couatl, though, and as the two are wrapped up in a shield of Mamoru, the wizard can only grin. Adooof! That's the noise they made when they hit the ground and rolled, before the couatl flies them off the cliff and hovers. Another view, stunning as Frostmaw, the sun fading behind ice covered mountains. And the wizard, having let Daisy go, runs a hand across his forehead once, before speaking. “Exciting and a view, with cloud snowstorms on top. Clever he is, Daisy.” The wizard pets the couatl's side. “Clever.” After landing, the wizard hops off before lifting his arms so he can drop Daisy down. They're not back in the city, but rather out in the wilds, and here the wizard wants to quickly do something. “We should not linger, Daisy. It is dangerous out here. But before it grows fully dark, would you walk with me through the woods so I can grab something? Mamoru can fly and wait for us, it is too dangerous for him,” The wizard turns to the couatl after saying that, “But I will ensure Daisy is fine. You can trust me.” He tips his hat.

Daisy looks frazzled and crazy with her hair a mess and that grin on her face. "Clever indeed." She wraps both arms around Mamoru's neck and kisses his nose. Yes. He should fly to safety while the pair has a walk. Svilfon is given a trusting nod and he takes off to fly some more. Maybe he'll go find some foods. Mmmm. Growing couatls are hungry! Daisy watches her guardian fly off. 'Proud' needs to be looked up in the thesaurus or something. But that is what she is. "It makes me happy he picked me," she whispers softly before turning to Svilfon. "Where are we going?"

Svilfon nods his head with a serious expression briefly covering his face, “All of us are happy we were choson.” Before he turns a shade and points out into the trees. “In there. I need to.. check something. It's not especially nice, more so after our adventure. But I do not wish to come out here alone.” He nods his head. “We'll be quick! Honest. Then I'll take you back to Frostmaw, if you wish.” He offers her his arm.

Daisy reaches up to take that arm. Strong and smart and wise and skilled Svilfon wants =her= for protection? Maybe just company. Maybe it is boring. Well that there is a compliment too! Oh. Especially not nice. Well. She's never been one to fear going into the forest. Not for the sake of plantlife anyway. Sometimes things in the forest are a bit creepy, but that doesn't mean she can't get away from them so easily. Yes. She will accompany the wizard on his task. "We can go." And she smiles that sweet smile of hers.

Svilfon nods his head to the druid while offering a brief smile, which seems genuine, despite the obvious strain the vampire feels about doing this. "Let us go, then. Thank you." Leading Daisy, he weaves through the dark trees, no longer walking like a typically jovial wizard and now stalking more like a predator; silently and quick, sticking closely to the shadows beneath branches. The woods seem eerie; quieter than ususal, and the air is almost oppresive. There is danger here, and those with the noses to sniff such things would find the whole place stinks of it. But the wizard has a purpose, and so he leads on, carrying through until at last he pauses at a small clearing. Resting on the ground before him is a blood-stained sapling, broken close to the base and about the size of a staff. Svilfon bends down to carefully pick it up, even as he searches the darkly stained snow for the bodies he and Satoshi left. There is a lot of blood, which looks black in the fast fading light as the night sky begins to take over from the dark blue of late evening. But nothing else seems to remain. "Here, Daisy," his voice is little more than a whisper, though the kitten would find she can easily hear it easily enough. "Satoshi and I were ambushed and almost fell... as it was, her hat was destroyed." The wizard speaks those words in a pained voice, like the loss of the headwear - despite it saving the snow queen - was still something quite tragic. "Nothing else remains, but stains in the grass and this, "He holds out the branch of the young tree. "Something I believe I will turn into a weapon to carry. They stopped my magic, this will help, I think." He grins. He's not all that formidable with any sort of weapon, other than his magic. "It's already been used to slay one of the exiles."

Daisy takes the hint and follows the best she can in the least prancy manner possible. There is no sense in calling attention to themselves if it doesn't need to be a thing. The kitten has such a nose as mentioned before and would rather those scents just stay wherever they are instead of bothering them. So much blood everywhere! Whiskers twitch, searching for anyone familiar. Nearly fell! He said nearly, kitten. Calm down. Svilfon is obviously still alive and nearly means Satoshi is too. For once, the tail stays droopy, saddened by the fallen hat. Good accessories are hard to come by! Daisy's eyes study that branch for a long moment before she reaches to take it. Soft murmurs part her lips as she presses the wood to her cheek and ear. There's a smile and she looks up at Svilfon. "Life..." Faint, but still there pulsing in the branch. Arms extended, she holds the branch back out to the wizard. She is not important enough to carry such a thing!

Svilfon waves his hand at the druid for a moment, "Hang onto it for me." He offers her a brief smile before turning and kneeling down beside the blood-stained ice. He digs his hands in deep and scoops up some snow, before speaking a quick series of words to it. From the ground below, ice lifts and begins to form a sphere around it, encasing the stained ground not by the wizard's power over ice, rather using it to buffer his own enchantments. When done he stands and places his fingers upon the locked sphere, before it vanishes in a cloud of smoke. Daisy perhaps would have noticed that just before it did a note appeared beside it, sealed with the wizard's signature. Or rather, a wizard's hat. Oh no! He shouldn't have sealed it with a reminder of what she lost, but it's too late now. He sighs, before spinning back to Daisy. "If you wish, lady healer, we can replant the sapling. Otherwise, I will take it before the Xalious tree and have it made into a weapon I can use to defend myself out here in Frostmaw. You are the one wiser with nature than I. You can decide its fate." He tips his hat.

Daisy watches the snowy magics with great curiousity. Not only is it magics, but she is a cat! And you all know what they say about cats wanting to know things. She is spun upon and the branch is held against her chest. "Me?" Yes you. You know how to make a decision. It isn't an easy one and it isn't one that shoud be left up to foolish girls. She falls to a sit there on her rump in the snow. Those feathers do make a nice barrier between herself and the cold! Now. What to do? It isn't your choice, now is it? Who are you to decide the fate of this branch? Nobody. Just a druid. So? Go on and ask the branch what it wants. There is a nod and a little smile as she cradles the little sapling in her arms, whispering softly and petting it with the love mothers give their children. Unless you're a drow babe. I hear they get beaten. This little thing is gently rocked and there is a silence. "She wants to help you." Daisy looks up at the Wizard with a smile. "She wants to go to Xalious and help you."

Svilfon remains entirely motionless as Daisy speaks to the young sapling which was torn from the earth by the might of Svilfon and satoshi's enemies... or rather, the enemies to all of Frostmaw. He was content to leave such a decision to her – he trusted the feline, after all. Satoshi trusted her, she has one of Emiur's children, and the wizard likes her. That is enough to bypass Svilfon's usual enjoyment of fighting people before they become his friends. When Daisy at last speaks to the vampire, he nods, though doesn't offer to take the branch from her. Instead he looks around at the darkness which has come truly to the trees. The woods grow completely silent, except it almost seems as though eyes are watching through the blackness; calculating, it feels like they are weighing who and what Daisy and Svil are. The wizard frowns again, “Perhaps it is time for us to leave, Daisy, Druid, wearer of Frostmaw's Snowstar Crown.” He tips his own hat to that. “I can take us quickly back to Frostmaw.. and I promise I won't swing by the clouds first.” He grins, before offering his hand to her.

Daisy thinks that they fought by means of dance and she won his wizard heart that way. *firmnod*

Daisy keeps the branch close to her chest with one arm while the other paw reaches up to slip into the offered hand. It doesn't matter what those eyes think of them. For now, she is content in concentrating on keeping the branch alive. She purrs oh so softly, comforting the poor bit of tree and encouraging it to hold on to what it's got. They've got eachother! And that's a lot... for love. Svil's hand is given a squeeze. "I trust you."

Svilfon merely nods and offers a brief smile, before he speaks a quiet word and the world around the two dissolves into a fiery conflageration which rips across what seems like the entire universe in every direction. For just a moment they exist in this place, before snowy ground is replaced by the well-maintained grass which grows beneath this a mystical tree. "If you like, lady druid, you may leave it here. None will touch it, I assure you. And what it needs will be given when it shelters in the shadows of the Xalious Tree." Svil smiles at that. "I know I said Frostmaw, but I thought it wise to travel here first. No wonder people seem to think that wizards are not a wise form of transport. Jump on in Frostmaw, get taken halfway to the center of the continent." He offers the druid a smile at that.

Daisy stumbles a little bit once they... land? Poof? What the heck do you call that sort of thing? Spontaneous appearing? Her head spins for a little longer before the Xalious tree decides to clear it for her. "Thanks." To the wizard. To the tree. To the ground for staying right where it is for a minute. The branch is kissed and hugged and left there beneath the tree for safe keeping. "It was a good idea." She agrees with him, glad they delivered the branch first. The longer it is in her posession, the better chance of it getting stolen! And we can't have that. Oh no. Her paw is slipped into the wizard's hand once more. She doesn't mind the dizzy so much. "I like it."

Svilfon grins, flashing his gaps and fangs at the feline druid, before once again they are ripped from where they stand and torn through Hollow, this time they appear just outside the Frostmaw Tavern. It is quite spontaneous, though sometimes it can take a while if Svil doesn't know where he's going well. But in Frostmaw and Xalious, he is happy to teleport around, so quick the gap between one place and the next is. Here, Svilfon bends down to give the paw a quick kiss, before he takes half a step back. “Lady druid, I should perhaps go guard the ice. But I am glad you found me. You should spend more time in Frostmaw. Otherwise, who else can I dance with.” He grins at Daisy, even as he tips his hat with a wink; his face seeming a little less strained than it was before he met Daisy earlier on this day.
