Summary: Emilia and Irenic finally get the privilege of bringing the triplets to the new farmhouse, but best of all, they get to include them on the news of two additions to their now blended family.

Rolling Plains

Here the planes seem to roll along gently, up and down up and down ceaselessly like the waves of the ocean. Walking over these hills will become a hard slog as you must constantly change your footing and most of the soil here has turned dry and dusty and simply slides away under a heavy boot making your journey all the more tiring. There is very little to see here besides trees that have been stripped bare of their green watery leaves by hungry animals.

Irenic made up the big comfortable sofa for Emilia to relax on and even tempted the spot with some chocolate covered pickle chips set right on the coffee table, "kids should be here any minute." The avian's voice carries through the openness of the first floor because he doesn't know where his newly pregnant girlfriend has run off to, but he shrugs and adjusts the large box he's carrying inside to disappear into the office turned library. He knows Emilia cannot stay put for too long and as long as she isn't overly stressed or trying to carry heavy things, he's mostly okay with it. From time to time, he does grow concerned about the fact that she is starting to feel pain and sensations again. Apparently, Edith is supervising the triplets' journey from Gualon and Irenic is curious as to how the healer would take to him or if she will give their little secret away, but other than the exciting news that they are going to be big brothers and sister, Irenic is delighted to to show them their new home.

Emilia had sat on the sofa for a short moment to enjoy some of the chocolate covered pickle chips that Irenic had made for her, however she was not known for sitting still. A long talk with Irenic over the concerns he rightfully had as a new father and their unexpected news that no one had answers to, the pair had reached some agreement on limits such as no lifting heavy objects and not spending an entire day on her feet working. As time went on there were plans to rehash as needed. “Does this one make me look fat?” she asked, popping into the doorway of the library in the making wearing one of her summer dresses in a medium forest green shade that was still a little loose on her. The goal was to try to hide the pudge of a belly for a little while. After she spoke, the genasi shoved a handful of chips into her mouth. If anything, the weird eating habits would give it away first. “Oie! Don’t drop me!” the hollering words of Edith could be heard from outside. The triplets in their excitement had chosen to fly to the new house with Edith. By flying Edith it meant strapping her into a chair while the three worked together to transport her from Gualon to Venturil. Edith was an elderly woman with long locks of white mixed with greys weaved into a long braid with muddy brown eyes and a wrinkly tan skin. She was an elf, though the points to her ears had been removed leaving her looking more like a human grandma. Even in her aged years she wasn’t a heavy lady making her weight less of a concern for the youth. Her voice ended and the loud echo of the boys could be heard, “We won’t! We won’t!” Shortly followed by “MOM! MOM’S MANFRIEND! WE ARE HERE!” As the trio landed the chair with Edith in it on the ground just before the front porch steps.

Irenic grins roguishly at her after adding this box to the pile, "it makes you look…" his gaze lingers up and down on her form as his thick eyebrows wiggle at her in a suggestive way. She can finish his sentence for him. Wiping the sweat off his hands on his simple white tee shirt before giving her a love tap on her bottom and exiting the library because he can hear that they've arrived. Trotting out to meet them in order to hold onto the chair as it gently descends, "hey boys, hey Lynn!" He shouts up with genuine excitement, but once he has the elvish woman in his arms and helps her out of the chair, "did you guys bring me an angel?" Laying on the charm with a matching grin, "you must be Edith. I'm Irenic, nice to meet you," he takes the woman's hand and bends at the waist some to place a peck on the back of her hand. "Tea's about ready for you, are you hungry?" Then he calls over to the kids, "go ahead and grab some snacks, I've got some fun things for each of you to you. Yes, even you Lynn," he helps Edith up the stairs if she needs it and gets the door for her like a gentleman.

Emilia gave Irenic a wink at his comment before moving to follow along behind him after he left to greet the party that had just arrived. She leaned against the open door frame as she watched Irenic help the triplets land Edith safely on the ground. Another handful of chips had gone into her mouth so she simply waved for the moment instead of chatting with a mouthful. Edith would slap her a good one for that. Edith gave a small chuckle at his charming comment as he assisted her from the chair, “Oh, Sunni, I am simply an old lady.” Standing she reached just over six feet a small sign to her unhuman genes. In return to his bow the elderly woman grabbed the sides of her deep grey gown to give a small partial curtsy in return, “Pleasure to meet you, Sunni.” Her gaze drifted past him to her favorite little clumsy woman. She waved to the Genasi with a smile on her face. Liam and Leo were quick to remove themselves from the chair ropes and make a mad dash into the house the moment that Irenic had mentioned food. Each boy stopped to give their mom a hug and a kiss before passing her, “Hi Mom! Bye Mom!” came in unison. The way to their hearts was clearly food. Lynn walked slowly up the stairs after her brothers had taken their mad dash for snacks. She knew better than to stand in their way. Her voice reached inside Irenic’ mind ‘Oh? Coincidence, I have something for you too.’ Then she hugged her mother with a kiss to the cheek before following the lads inside. Edith did not accept the help up the stairs, “I am older than dirt, Sunni, but I can walk just fine.” As she stopped at the top step of the porch she adjusted her gaze from one adult to the next then back to Irenic, “Later, we -will- talk in private, Sunni.” Her words were serious and blunt giving him no opening to say no. Emilia smiled and hugged Edith, “Welcome to the house, Edith. Hope the kids were not too much trouble.” Now that her mouth was empty she finally spoke.

Irenic chuckles, "feisty, just how I like them," he winks playfully, but once the older woman takes a serious tone, he simply nods respectfully. "I'll let you ladies catch up, how do you take your tea, Miss Edith? What would you like to drink, Lia?" Once they reply, he wastes no time, joining the kids inside. "How was the flight over here?" he asks them while pouring the tea, "all three of your rooms are upstairs, after you check those out, would you two like to help out with the sparing room downstairs?" He asks the boys and once they answer, he then looks to Lynn, "we've got a library, would you like to help with inventing a way to organize the collection?" Motioning for Lynn to follow him to the large archway that leads to a decently sized room that opens up to a glass sunroom area, perfect for reading in the daytime. It looks like a booklover's dream! Then he leaves Lynn in the library with a knowing grin because he too is a bookworm and makes his way back out to the seating area on the porch to serve the women.

Emilia smiled, “Ice water this time” she answered what she wanted after Edith told Irenic to surprise her with the tea. On tip toes Em would pucker her lips for a kiss from Irenic before she sat down with Edith on the comfy chairs Irenic put outside while he went to settle the kids down for teatime. The two ladies turned to talking in quite with a mixture of laughs mixed in. Liam answered about the flight over, “It was fun! Edith is amazing and though she is old she isn’t all that heavy!” When he used the world ‘old’ he dropped his voice down to a whisper. Lynn was content with her tea and smiled at him in thanks. The boys did a quick double take at each other as they exclaimed, “Our own room?!” at the same time. That was enough to get the boys up on their feet to go check out the upstairs as they never had separate rooms before. Lynn followed Irenic to the library. Standing there awestruck at the room one might have thought the girl would drool over the space. Instead she placed her cup of tea down and began just studying the book titles of what was already in the room. As Irenic returned Emilia turned to flash a bright smile at Irenic, “Welcome back, Love. Are the kids liking it so far?”

Irenic had clued Liam in on the gentlemanly term of, "I think the vernacular you're looking for is mature, or better yet, classic." The way he offered the bit of wisdom wasn't in a chastising manner, but more along the lines of taking the boy under his wing to in the art of charm. Now that he's outside with Edith and Emilia, he nearly spilled their secret, but thinks better of it, "the boys are ecstatic to have their own personalized rooms." He was going to mention that they might want to look into some way to add on another room for the twins. "I thought they would be more excited for the weapon training room in the basement," a chuckle comes from him as he kisses Emilia back and takes a seat near her. "Of course Lynn loves the library, maybe we will go tome hunting one day," Oinkers waddles up onto the wrap around porch and wedges himself between the couple in his little blue tutu right after Irenic got comfortable next to Emilia on the wicker loveseat. "Hows it going out here?"

Emilia chuckled, “Something about having your own space makes life exciting. I do bet Lynn would be thrilled with that.” Edith couldn’t help but snortle a chuckle out at seeing the pig in his tutu between the two adults, “Oh, Oinkers is everything you said he was, Ems. What a cute little piggy.” Then she turned to look at Irenic, “Best be careful, Sunni, this one has a love for animals! You might end up sleeping outside with a house full of them if you let her bring them all home.” Emilia couldn’t help but laugh, “Oh, that isn’t true! We could sleep in the barn!” Oinkers after a snort looked up at Irenic like the ladies were crazy before cuddling down between them. Edith replied, “Oh, it is going well out here. Just playing some catch up on the triplets. The lads are doing well in their studies. I am not sure what more Lynn can learn; she is way beyond most adults I have met. However, scaring the staff with animating the corpses at night does need to stop.”

Irenic fluffs Oinker's tutu with a grin as the ladies joke between themselves, "don't worry, would be the first time," he nudges Emilia gently because their recent date night was outside,"but, I thought the animals IS what we put up the barn for?" He quirks a brow playfully at the Genasi, but when Edith complains of Lynn's pranking, he just heartily chuckles and sighs out a, "classic Lynn," in a proud fashion, "I got her some gimmicky items for her room that she might find humorous, like an old seance table and a ouija board." Irenic definitely encourages their quirks because being a triplet must be hard enough and anything to set yourself aside should be celebrated. "The contractor should be coming by later today to give us estimates on a guest house, too," where else is Edith supposed to stay? In Irenic and Emilia's room?! "Then I will put together the chicken coup and I don't think there is much else we need to put together before we ready the plots for crops." Irenic is genuinely excited for fresh chicken eggs, but wow is he really sounding like some farm boy.

Emilia gave a small shrug at Irenic, “A barn is good for many things…?” she laughed before getting up slowly to try to not disturb Oinkers too much. “I am going to check on the kiddos. They boys are being way too quiet. Try not to become enemies while I am gone?” She smiled at both before taking her leave inside to visit with the kids. Also, she wanted more of the chips that were still inside and not within reach. Only once Emilia was well inside did Edith turn to talk to Irenic with a serious tone, “So, what are your intentions with my girl? Those wonderful triplets? With those two little sweet peas in the Emipod?” As she spoke the woman sat up and turned her muddy brown gaze into his silver one.

Irenic jokes, "yeah they probably found my old tobacco pipes." He winks to Emilia in case she gives him a scolding look. When the elderly elf begins questioning him, Irenic sits more relaxed on the loveseat and pulls Oinkers to lay across his lap as his steady grin shines to Edith, "to give all of them the best possible life I can, Miss Edith." He shouldn't be so surprised that Edith already clued into the fact that Emilia was pregnant, "those are also my sweet peas after all." The pride and excitement in his voice is entirely palpable, it's almost like he also has a pregnant glow. "I know I have a lot to figure out, but honestly… I'm so ready to learn."

Emilia |Edith gave a chuckle, “Oh, Sunni, I was guessing they were yours. The heat that radiates from her stomach matches the same heat that radiates from inside of you. I wasn’t born yesterday.” The woman sat back in her chair after his explanation about the intentions he had. “I am glad that you are ready to learn, but you better be ready to stick to that learning. It won’t get any easier as you go along. You will have multiple individuals to attend to and remembering that woman as one of them after them littlelins come along is just as important. I would not like to walk that lady there out of another mental breakdown. You do anything to hurt any of them and I promise no one will find your body, Sunni. To that, just call me Edith. None of them fancy titles belong to me.”

Irenic grins a little wider at Edith when she says she wasn't born yesterday. "I will stick with Emilia through anything. She was my best friend and I've found my twin flame within her and I will do anything to make sure she's happily taken care of. I suspect it won't be easy, but just being with her makes everything feel possible." The more he talks about Emilia, the more a twinkle shines in his eye and the love he has for her is plain to see, "she's my world and I didn't escape our captors with her for her to ever be sad again. I know, after the twins come, it's not in my control if she gets into an episode, but I am going to wait as long as it takes, I will be her biggest cheerleader and support her every second of every day." He nods respectfully, "not Edith Extraordinaire? I mean, you've got to hand it to yourself here. Helping raise those three wonderful kids AND homeschooling them?" He claps his hands with genuine admiration, but Oinkers snorts and gets startled before dashing off the porch. Irenic chuckles at this, "aw, I'm sorry Oinkers."

Edith let out a small chuckle at being called Edith Extraordinaire as she shook her head, "I have been called many things in life and that is not one of them. But being a nanny is not much different than homeschooling them too. The two jobs go hand in hand. And those are not the only things I manage on a daily, but I am not the only one who juggles a many things on my plate." Fingers waves to the little tutu wearing piglet as he dashed off, "See you later, Oinkers!" Then her gaze shifted back to Irenic, "I do choose to believe you that you will honor your word now and through the journey you take with Ems and I do hope that nowhere along those lines you change your mind from what you are feeling now. Though fire and ice are opposites in good ways it can lead to struggles, especially when they arrive. Until then, I am putting you in direct charge of monitoring that heat inside her. It is low now, but as they grow and she grows it will encompass more of her. Should it Ever reach past her stomach into her chest area at all, even in the slightest then you must immediately contact Penelope or myself and prepare for the arrival of the peas within a night of that message. That second heart of hers is from the ice realm and if it gets heated up it will not work any longer. I do hope you understand what that means and pay very close attention to the details." As Edith finished and settled back into her chair there was silence for a few moments. She wanted to let those words sink into his head. In turn, Lynn appeared at the front seating area with a natural, and rarely seen, smile on her lips clutching a book to her chest as she moved to plop herself down onto Irenic's lap with it.

Irenic hangs on Edith’s every word, “yes. I too have been thinking long term about Lia’s unique physiology and we often but heads on the subject of bed rest. Do you have any ideas on how to keep the warmth of her womb away from her heart?” He had leaned forward in his seat to prop his elbows on his knees and his inquiry for any clues or theories Edith might have is serious and genuinely full of concern. Irenic will not and cannot lose his chance at love again, especially not if it’s Emilia. The avian casually relaxes when Lynn joins them so it wasn’t easy to suss out the dire details that he and Edith were just discussing because he never wants the kids to worry about their mother’s health or well being. “Hey, Lynn,” his grin comes easily when he notices her smile, “whatcha got there?” When she claims a seat on his lap, he’s internally surprised because she’s not usually the type to initiate contact. Regardless, he gladly accepts any closeness either of the triplets care to offer him and looks to her face, awaiting a telepathic explanation about the book she’s clutching.

Emilia | Edith shook her head slowly, “I don’t have any answer at present. I will try to do some research later. Until then use your hand to match the heat to your own. You will feel it on the outside. The nature of her will be cooler to the touch and the other will feel exactly the same as you. We should have some time before any action needs to really be taken.” It was a quick answer that didn’t give any in depth details of the subject matter if the pair was overheard. Luckily for them, there was silence between them before Lynn appeared. Her sitting in his lap was brought with a raised eyebrow of the elderly woman for a moment, “Did you find one you haven’t read?” she jested. The voice of the small girl echoed on the wind around the trio on the porch as Lynn projected her voice around them, “I have not read this one, YaYa.” Then she rested the book in her lap for a moment so Irenic could see it before showing the cover to Edith, ‘Avian Anatomy’ with a sketch of a person with wings on the cover. Edith nodded, “It might help and it might not. Don’t get your hopes up little lady. I know your skills are both unique and beyond measure, but not everything is possible.” Lynn gave Edith a scrunched up face with a frown as her voice projected out again, “But it has too! If I can’t properly fix him, then he won’t find peace and will be stuck reliving death forever!”

Irenic remains in his relaxed state, one arm draped along the back of the wicker seat and the other on the armrest. He nods in an ‘ah-hah’ type of way when she shows the cover to the book, one of his own, and listens to her projected voice. “This is about Edlin Senior?” He asks even though he knows the answer, but his warm grin doesn’t falter. “You’ve really been doing your research on this, haven’t you,” he said in a proud way. He is legit proud of this little one's drive and abilities even if he’s just a little flattered that she’s taken such an interest in helping his own father find peace. The avian’s grin grows wider when Lynn frowns at Edith and expresses a tenacity he’s seen in her mother, but without hesitation, he gently places a hand between Lynn’s shoulder blades in a comforting manner, “hey, hey. We’ve got some of the best minds on this. Well will figure it out, yeah?” Softly rubbing her upper back now in an attempt to calm Lynn, “how about this, after dinner tonight, you and I will brainstorm ideas while putting books away. How’s that sound?”

Emilia | Lynn let out a sigh after Irenic’s calming gesture as she was just about to explode into an angry storm about the topic. Sliding from his lap she gave him an affirmative nod before projecting her voice once more, “Fine, but I don’t think you know anything about piecing together the ghosts or walking them to the final gate.” Then the girl was making her way back into the house to the library to shove her nose into the book that belonged to Irenic. The lads were just now zipping out the front door in flight while laughing at one another. It was Liam’s voice they heard first, “Race you to the tippy top point of the house! Last one there cleans up Oinker poo!” Followed by Leo’s, “You’re on!” Or did Leo challenge Liam. It was hard to tell with their voices sounding the exact same mixed with the flapping of wings. Either way the boys were now flying around the home circling it up toward the roof in a race that would determine the poop cleaner. Emilia had made her way back out of the house munching on a chunk of salami that she had pulled out of the cooler and not bothered to cook. Strange woman with her cravings. “How is it going out here? You two making friends or enemies out here?”

Irenic shakes his head, “you’re right, I don’t, but I’m going to be there to support you every step of the way, or lend a helping hand under your guidance,” the avian offers with the hint of determination in his voice. Of course he wants to help his father and adores her determination, but he doesn’t want Lynn to be burdened by it. When Liam and Leo come barreling out of the house, he watches them and it brings a grin back to his face, “I get winner!” He calls to them just as they disappear beyond the awning of the wrap around porch and when he sees Emilia return, he pats the seat next to him and fluffs the pillow there for her, “both?” A wink to Edith before suggesting to Lia, “come and relax, love. Take it all in and enjoy the kids finally home with us… I think they love it here. I cannot wait to tell them the news,” it’s been killing him not to blurt it out the second they got home. “That looks tasty,” he motions to her snack with a soft chuckle because no matter how many odd cravings suddenly possess the woman, he’s always amused and never judges her for it. Secretly he’s advocating for her to eat whatever she fancies and is happy to even make a flight to find it for her because he wants adorably chubby babies!

Emilia smiled as she took the seat next to Irenic only after she paused to smooch him first. There was no need to try to hide the relationship from the boys now. Not everyday two people of opposite gender get a house together. On top of that the number of rooms did not account for the adults having separate rooms, but a shared one. “I do hope it becomes more friends than enemies. Edith is simply a blessing in so many ways. I might not be here with you today if it wasn’t for this woman,” the Genasi said while pointing at Edith with the meat stick. Edith chuckled with a possibly blush into her tan wrinkled cheeks, “Oh, Emilia we know that isn’t true at all.” Looking to Irenic she smiled and offered him a bite of her snack. This one was more normal to eat in a sitting than the chocolate covered pickles she has been devouring lately. Shifting herself over so that she was snuggled into his side with her head resting on him while finishing another bite. Smiling up at him with that ear to ear smile one gets around the one they love. She poked his nose, “I bet they will have blonde hair and your eyes.” Edith stared at the lovebirds with a gentle amused smile on her lips, “I vote blonde hair too.”

Irenic takes the offered bite and hums in a pleased fashion, but when it comes to food he isn’t hard to please, “maybe -I’m- pregnant.” He playfully jests and rests his hand casually on Emilia’s belly after slipping his arm around her. As relaxed as he could appear without raising suspicion to the kids, he focuses his warmth on her slightly puffed out abdomen in order to try what Edith just said so the growing life inside doesn’t have to try so hard to generate their own warmth so close to her heart. “Well, hopefully they keep that blonde hair, mine was at first, but became more of a dusky blonde as I got older. I hope they have your freckles and ears,” his always felt odd and out of place ever since he left Island Vere, like everyone was staring at them. “I was a chubby baby, my arms and legs looked like bread dough,” chuckling softly at his admission as his cheeks got a pinkish hue. “Avians are tall beings, they might get taller than you by age six,” Irenic jokes with a soft kiss to her forehead. “Is there any point that we will be able to discover the genders? Or will it be a surprise?” He glances from Emilia to Edith.

Emilia let out a content blissful sigh just snuggling into Irenic with her eyes closed. His hand would find that her stomach felt cold until it felt below her belly button at the bottom of the growing belly closer to her hips where the babies were. There would be a dramatic shift from ice cold to burning hot flesh. As the babies grew the heat would gradually encompass more of her stomach. They babies were in a little sauna-sac inside her keeping each other warm just by being there. Eventually her entire round stomach would feel like touching a person with a high fever. Not that Emilia wanted to think about being a giant waddling whale. Edith spoke, “I miss my points, but I think the blonde will stay. Emilia once had the blondest of wild curls! A little ray of sunshine in the Gualon swamps.” Emilia opened an eye to look up at Irenic, “Well, it won’t be long and the triplets will be taller than me!” Then Edith spoke up again, “Well, Irenic, I would suggest you study up on what it is like to be a parent to infants. Twins are generally born with low birth weights because they are usually born Way early from when a normal baby is born. Emilia’s original race was a human with around ten months to cook a Single child. Now with two in there it would be best to try to keep them in there for nine of the ten. However, most are born before the ninth month. The earlier they come the more possibilities for not surviving birth. Emilia is very small and of a unique condition going into this. If she makes it more than seven months I will be very surprised. The triplets came way early and were very little. Lynn barely lived. As for the gender that is for the two of you to decide, but surprises are always fun. There is wives tales that some couples use to try to predict what they think they will have and see if they are right when they are born.”

Irenic agrees, “seems Lynn and I have some book hunting to do.” He continues to concentrate on the warmer part of her tummy and finds a way to sort of cancel out the heat of the little babies so they aren’t trying so hard, “did Penelope mention how far along you are? That day was such a whirlwind, I don’t recall if she told us?” Trying to think back on their first time in case it just so happened to be ‘the time’ when it happened, wouldn’t that be just his luck? It’s been six weeks. So now in just six short months, according to Edith's math, they could possibly be welcoming them into the world at the event of a premature birth. That’s not enough time! Even though he’s panicking inside, he appears to be cool as a cucumber on the outside and caresses his thumb across Emilia’s tummy. “I think they will be two girls. Asurael, named after my mother, and Zandrael,” with that he smirks down to his love, “what do you predict?” The sun is beginning to lower in the skies and dinner should be done any minute, but he waits for Emilia to make her predictions to stand while helping her up as well. “You two go on in and get settled, I’ll call for the boys,” with that he trots off the front porch steps and calls up to the skies after whistling out a loud call. “Leo! Liam! Hungry!?” Of course they are! When aren’t they? Once he sees their heads pop over the point of the roof, he waves them down before trotting inside in order to help set the table. Irenic had set up the food buffet style on the island counter so the large pots of food weren’t cluttering up the dinner table. Quite the ambitious spread of roast, potatoes, corn, sautéed creamy bacon brussel sprouts, grilled asparagus, gravy and even mashed potatoes in case one of the kids doesn't like roasted ones. Pitchers of water, sweet iced tea and fresh lemonade are placed in the center of the tables for self serving and easy access. As soon as everyone gets settled, he looks around the table with Emilia at the head next to him and gently clears his throat, “Lynn? Leo? Liam?” Whenever they seemed to have their attention on the avian, he grins, “we have some more news…” with that, his silvery gaze looks to his love to give her the honor of sharing such exciting news. Well, hopefully it’s exciting to them!

Emilia stared down at his hand for a moment as for a moment her stomach felt weird, a strange difference in the temperature before it heated right back up just between her hip bones with a small twinge in the side closest to his hand, “I don’t like that…” she said softly looking up to him, “Or, they don’t like that.” The Genasi adjusted her wording not sure which one was the correct one. Then she added, “I don’t think she said anything about that…” Edith would stand slowly to make her way over to the sitting couple while looking down to Emilia, “May I?” she asked. Once Emi nodded the other healer would press her hand lightly down on the other woman’s stomach starting from the top slowly sliding it down, “Up here it is cold which means the babies not here, which also means she is in the early pregnancy stages, which we know.” Then her hand slowly fell lower until it was about in line with Irenic’s hand on the other side of her stomach, “Here is where the heat starts, which means that is where your little peas are currently resting. I would take a guess that the babies are between 4 to 6 weeks. A little harder to read so early on and especially with two in there.” Then she drew a line with her finger up the bellow to stop just below where Emilia’s sternum is, “When the heat reaches here is when the babies will have to be delivered.” Then she would take her hand back slowly, “The bigger the babies the less room in that stomach and the sooner they will be here. You cannot slow the growth, you can just track the growth by tracking the heat. Don’t try to cool her down or they may get too cold and you might lose them. For now, all seems to be fine. I predict one of each, by the way.” Emilia just watched, listened and then finally made her guess, “I am guessing it will be two boys. But ask me again in a few months when the weird dreams start and I might change it!” Then Emilia kissed Irenic before following Edith inside for dinner. Standing next to Irenic Emilia turned to look up at him with a surprised look, “Oh? We are doing this now?” she whispered at him then changed her glance to look around at her children with their plates each assorted with different piles of food. Resting her hand on her bit of a chubby belly Emilia said, “Xaileo, Zeiliam, and Kiilynn you are going to become big brothers and a big sister to two little half-Irenic-half-Emilias…” Her face went a little frozen having been caught off guard on the news sharing herself. Leo and Liam both turned to look at each other with blank expressions that slowly turned into excited smiles. Lynn didn’t seem to change her expression on her face but she gave a simple short nod and that was it.

Irenic chuckles softly, “I’m not sure I can keep the secret much longer.” It’s evident that he’s quite excited and when the kids offer up their reactions, he expected as such. “Are you all ready for some farm work? Oh, and I’m going to find a way to add on a room so you two won’t need to share again.” Now that their best farmer is out of commission, him and the kids are going to have plenty of chores around the farm with feeding animals, collecting eggs, tending to the crops and milking the cows. They all begin digging into their food and conversing about all the great new changes while throwing around baby names. Soon enough he’s helping clean up the dinner, putting away any leftovers (if the boys left any) and making good on his promise to help Lynn brainstorm ideas on how to help the dead, even if he’s just there to ramble ideas off too because sometimes that helps in unexpected ways.
