RP:Eek To You Too, Pal!

From HollowWiki

Part of the The End's Not Near Arc

Summary: Hurieg finds himself in Alithrya, under the delusional impression he is a dolphin looking to recover children of some group that the naga had stolen to eat. Reginae is called to contain the situation and drags him back the Palace to be examined by one of the Medical staff.

Entrace to the City

Hureig was an oddly shaped thing. He was seaweed; he was coral; he was dead fish caught within lines, hooks, and slime. He was a mobile thing, too. The monstrosity hurried from cave to cave, from monument to monument, from slick stone to cobbled street. The thing heaved in breaths and huffed out panic, his arms swinging wildly, his slime-covered hands grasping for the sentient and unsentinent, from those who could hear his wails and things that could enhance his cries. "The pups! The pups!" The thing had eyes pried open and watery from more than the sea that had churned him deep into strange lands. "The pups! Where are they?! Where are the pups?!" The Naga statue! It would know! And it was to it the starved thin, detritus covered frost giant lurched. "Do you see them?! Do you see them up there?! There was a storm, and sharks, and panic! Do you not understand me?! Eeeeek! Eek eeek! Eeeeeek!" He eeked out noises that anything that spent time in the ocean would be familiar with, especially if they were friend or foe to the porpoise. "Damn you, man! Eeeek! EEEEEK!"

Reginae had been informed that something was roaming around the city entrance, screaming and making a general racket. Aramoth help her, it would be the second thing today requiring her immediate attention, and right before the council meeting… She slithers into the space as Hureig screams porpoise profanity at the prolific statue. “Excuse me!” She calls, authoritative and towering on the full length of her tail. “Who are you and why are you here?!”

Hureig banged his fists against the hallowed statue, the beat punctuated with eeks, Common curses, and growling grunts. The only response to his frantic pleas were the somping, slurping thuds of his now bloody hands. He would've kicked the statue and bring more damage to his starvation thinned body had another voice not called to him! He turned to the authoritative voice, to the naga standing the full height of her tail. "The pups! The pups are in danger! Have you...Did you...Did you eat them?!" His fear boiled hot and hard until there was only a simmer, viscous rage within his eyes. "You attacked us in the storm! You attacked us when we were harried by sharks in the storm! You killed our young!" He, too, rose to his full height, his arms shrugging off the ghillie suit of ocean stuff he used to blend in. He would have been tall, stout, and fearsome, as most frost giants were. But what stood before the Queen, hunched low even when he tried to stand his full height, was angular curves, visible bones, and the hollowness that both starvation and sickness bring to the lost.

Reginae bared her fangs at the beast, bloodied and...sickly thin. Her hands that were splayed slacked, claws retracting to a reasonable nail length. His face...she knew his face. “Giant…” She said, slithering quickly to wrap herself around him. Aiming only to hold him in place, keep him from injuring others and himself any further. The full length of her tail could bind him, and still leave her a good distance to regard him with troubled eyes. “Send the doctor to the guest rooms,” She hissed to Yozenra, Reginae’s body guard. The serious woman, spear at the ready, did not move. Reginae’s pupils narrowed and she waited, struggling against the impressive strength of the giant as he worked to no end for freedom. “Yozenra…” And then the woman huffed, lowering her weapon and heading back towards the palace. Reginae tries to bind Hureig’s arms against his torso, to pick seaweed and debris from him to better see his face. “A merchant, aren’t you?” She asked, trying to distract the man from his frenzied panic and screeching. Her face is eye level with him now, the rest of her coiled to hold him and keep everyone from further harm.

On any other day, Hureig would've more than likely been able to put up a little fight. He was never the broadest of shoulders and strongest of backs. He was never the best fight, neither with a weapon or with his bare fist. But in this instance and this time, tossed from wave to wave with little food and even less potable water, he was easy to wrap and even easier to bind. He did struggle, though, but it was a flash in the pan; one twist, one grunt, and a few wiggles of his shoulders, and the starved frost giant was spent. "No. Not a merchant," He looked dead in Reginae's eys, and with as tired as he was from the exertion, it was both literally and figuratively. "I swim. I dive. I speak. I am a dolphin!"

Reginae’s frown only deepened. “No, you are a merchant.” She said plainly, not wishing to press the issue with him in his current state. “Whatever you are, you need food and rest. How you made it here, I will never know.” It was nothing short of a miracle. A land dweller, landing here. Alive. Crazy perhaps, but alive. She conjured, with little effort, a minor illusion to make the male believe he was still bound by her tail but she’s unwoven herself from around him. Now, it must look like she’s twice her length as she attempts to lead him back to the palace. “Come this way…”

Road to the Palace

Hureig was a mad, thrashing fish caught in the cruel clutch of a predatory sea snake, or so the starved and addled minded frost giant thought. He thought of himself as a porpoise wrapped clean around by a Naga, even though the Naga that lead him on an invisible leash was a few steps in front of him. "The pups! You ate the pups!" He called, he condemned, he damned. He tried to struggle against the illusion spell that had him believing he was still bound, for every step that took him from the entrance of the city was a step that took him away from his only way back to his oceanic home. "We know your kind! We know your ways! Taking me to your nest so you can feed me to your children?! My brethren will hear me and come to my aid. Eeeek!" He thre back his head and bellowed, though it was more of a hoarse, high pitched holler. "Eeeek! To me, brothers and sisters! I have found the one who ate the pups! Eeeek! Eeeeeeeeek!"

Reginae sighed, loudly though it was muted beneath the shrieking cries of her ‘prey’. Yozenra reappeared as they drew closer to the castle, a physician by her side. Wordlessly Reginae tipped her head in thanks, pulling the giant through the gardens and into an empty guest room. Silently, Reginae whispered some half arsed prayer to Aramoth that her other two guests would not hear the commotion. “Put him down…” Begged the physician, blonde hair and wide eyes beneath a mousy set of glasses. Her snout was blue, matching her uniquely thin aquamarine tail as she looked over some parchments in her hand. “He’s delirious…” Reginae noted, no longer address Hureig as a sane individual. “Please see that he’s tended to...and brought around. I believe his name is Hureig. A Frostgiant merchant.” A beat, and the naga Queen frowns. “A lot of sedative, might be a good place to start.” It felt a bit cruel, to leave him here but what choice did she have? There was a council meeting and...he was impossible to talk to. Things would look better after he had rest, food, water. “I’ll be back shortly,” She promised, helping Yozenra bind the Giant to the four post bed decked in Alithryian golds and whites. The physician blinked, tilting her glasses back at Reginae. “Y-you won’t stay? Oh dear…” The woman hiccupped nervously, sorting through vials and whispering to herself as Reginae shut the door and started for the gardens.

Reginae's kindness and understanding are meet with a trumpeting triumphant chorus of 'eeks' that only fade in intensity and repetition the farther she is from the room...and when the sedatives kick in.
