After a day of exploring Larket, Nasada comes to learn of a very famous tower in Xalious- one that hosts a fairly sizable library. With brief directions in mind, the young woman sets out for what may be a fairly trying journey.

Sage Forest Bell

Nasada tried to remember what the woman in Larket had said. Was it turn left? Right? Path. Something. Grr. Her cloak was pulled tight with one hand, the other holding up a lantern to illuminate the path ahead. Why did she choose to venture at night? "Can't be much further..." she murmured, as her pace turned to hurried jog along the barely lit pathway.

Pass Through Xalious

Nasada emerged from the wall of trees to the north, lantern swinging wildly as she tried to see any sort of familiar landmarks that she had passed during the day time. The well trodden road brought solace as it seemed the most familiar; It was a path she had taken many times before. Rain and shine. "West of Kelay. West...of Kelay." she reminded herself. Which way was west?

Nasada hoped she was traveling in the right direction; she could have sworn the woman said that Kelay was just 'southeast' of Larket. She never did have the best set of bearings. Coming upon the mountain path, she felt a bit more confident as the towering landmark was in direct view. Cautiously she padded along, the lantern aimed ahead while she kept an eye out for any potential hazards- live animals or natural faults along the path..

Mountain Path

Nasada continued along the mountain path, the mighty structure of stone stood tall and proud against the pale light of the moon; its sheer size and distance almost intimidating to the young woman. Still she pressed onward through the cool night, trying her best to keep those most dark taunting thoughts from penetrating her imagination. "We're okay. It's just a mountain path. People traverse it every day, I'm sure." she stated to herself in a stern voice. Yes, but how long ago had someone been through here? What if it were a marauder? Or worse, a big old mountain lion?! She was starting to panic.

Rough Range

Nasada stepped carefully around the vast majority of potholes littering the road. Someone should really patch these up- They make the road very unsafe for merchant travelers! Coming to a fork in the road, Nasada first looked to the North, and then to the South. Which was was it again? She frowned, a single digit coming to tap upon her ebon stained lips in quiet contemplation. "if this is west... left.. must mean south? It has to be," she reminded herself. What's the worst that could happen? Well. Actually. A lot. She could be kidnapped, attacked, eaten, fall into a pit, starve, or all manner or things. Damn it, Rae! Stop it! She shook her head and forced herself to carry on; careful steps heading down the southern slope.

Nasada slips and falls as she tried to descend the treacherous path, tumbling and rolling quite hard until she came to a stop upon a small flat patch of dirt. She had barely time to look up when the sound of laughter echoed out into the night, the direction seeming to come from a quaint fire pit that seemed to be a rest area for a local merchant. She growled angrily, "What's so funny?! I almost broke my neck!!" Rising to her feet, Nasada set to work dusting off her clothing and cloak- black was probably not the greatest color to have been wearing for this journey. "Could you at least point me in the direction of Xalious?" she demanded of the man. In typical beggar fashion, the man shook a cup in her direction. It seemed worn and old, the insides rattled. Coins? "ugh. Fine" From the coin pouch tucked under her cloak, Nasada revealed a single golden coin and dropped it into the cup with a metallic 'TING' ringing out. In truth the man lifted a dirty unkempt finger and aimed it to the west. "....Thanks." was all that was offered before the woman set out to continue her journey to the Library.

Xalious Village

Nasada felt like she had been walking for hours. It was freezing out and the wind had begun to pick up, making what was supposed to be a short journey, a grueling slog. All was not lost however, as she could now see what she had come all this way for. The village was marked by two tall towers, one of which seeming to be the most famous in this part of the lands. The Mage Tower- The famous landmark where all powerful scholars seemed to get their start in Xalious. Below she could make out the brightly lit township, and even in the dead of night, it seemed to be quite a busy little spot. There were strangers of all ages and races roaming about, going to and fro from the tower and their homes, to what appeared to be a giant tree just to the south. She could make out some younger practitioners playing with basic little spells, vibrant colors of energy going off like celebratory fireworks. Nasada was in awe! She excitedly made her way toward the more seemingly popular tower, as this is where she figured she would find the library she had been looking for. As she approached the base of the building, the fledgling necromancer took one last gaze above, taking the tower in whole. It was with this action that her pupils dilated, something in her brain firing off a fleeting memory. Suddenly, without warning, the earth around the woman began to spin, everything slowly fading to black. She toppled like a sack of bricks onto the well ventured path at her feet.
