Summary: Pilar plucks a petal from her white rose to summon Revan (as Tyler) and ask him for answers.

Artia's Ranch

Pilar looked her rose over, contemplating what the man who'd given it to her had said: if she ever needed guidance, pluck a petal. But the more she learned of the man called Revan, the more she doubted his intentions. Or was it that she had begun to doubt the people she loved? No, no, of course not. They didn't deserve black or red roses, any more than she deserved a white rose. Even if Artia had confessed her true nature... she couldn't be that bad, right? Surely she was just being hard on herself, right? And Aira, she was a good person; a little rough around the edges, but not wicked enough for a black rose. Revan didn't know what he was doing, she was sure of it. But there was still that creeping doubt. She lifted a hand to take hold of a petal, hesitating. What would actually happen when she pulled it free? She was alone at home, maybe she should wait for Artia to return... No, the witch would try to stop her, probably. Bracing herself, Pilar plucked a petal from the rose.

Revan leans the door frame dressed from head to toe in spotless white robes decorated with bright blue runic markings that fall from his shoulders down to his feet, his hood dropped down behind his neck revealing the youthful form of Tyler, a light skinned man with a bit of stubble covering his neck and chin and a mess of fading blue hair laying atop his head. "You're worried about the rose" he states in a definite voice laced in a tone of calming confidence. "There's no reason to be afraid, you've passed your trial Pilar. Tell me, what is it your heart desires?"

Pilar jumped, startled by the sudden entrance. She looked at Revan, recognizing his form from the illusion. Which one was real, the living man or the undead? She didn't know. She also didn't know that plucking the rose petal would summon him! She stood up, questions buzzing about in her head. Now was her chance to demand answers. But there was still fear in her, fear that he would hurt her. "I..." She hesitated. She screwed up every last ounce of courage she had, and tried again. "I want... answers."

Revan raises a brow at Pilar's request and lifts himself off of the door frame to take a few steps into the room and move himself in front of the young vampire crouching down to rest his arms on his knees while those glowing blue eyes of eyes lock onto her own, "I cannot promise you answers, especially if I do not know the question young one. But if you are sure that this is what you desire, ask." Reaching out with his right hand he places his palm on her knee and maintains unblinking eye contact, "Don't be afraid."

Pilar couldn't help it, after the hell he'd put her and her friends through, of course she was afraid. Revan would feel her shaking slightly under his touch. She took a steadying breath, then asked, "Why do you... judge people? What do you get out of it? Who are you doing it for?"

Revan's lips peel back into a smile as the world around Pilar and he fades away like the setting sun and reappears with the two of them standing on the shores of a beautiful, crystal clear ocean. The two now stand side by side with their eyes cast out over the never ending stretch of water, "There was a time when this world knew nothing other than peace and love, it was a free and open place that had no real limits, we could be whatever we wanted to be." On the horizon clouds begin to swell up until lightning began cracking down into the ocean accompanied by thunderous booms that shake the ground they stood upon, "But chaos is a beast that cannot be forgotten, avoided nor escaped. What you ask me is not something I can answer and believe me when I say it's not something you want to know. You were given a white rose for a reason, your soul is pure and your intentions are good, you are not the storm the shakes the waves of the ocean, you are the sun that warms it for the people to enjoy. People like you must be preserved for the good of our world for if they fade away, chaos will take over and dark days will then soon come."

Pilar was disappointed that Revan could not (or would not) answer her questions. What he did say, however, made her uneasy. Not something she wanted to know, which meant it wasn't something she, as a "pure" and "good" person, would like. Pilar looked out over the ocean. "I do not think I am as good as you say... I love people who have darkness in them, people who have done terrible things. How could a good person look at them without disgust?"

Revan's smile brightens at the girls innocent ignorance and turns to look down at her over his shoulder, those glowing eyes of his slightly distorting as he does "You only further prove my point, young one. Where most people would look down on those who struggle with the chaos, you stare right past it to search for their true personality destined to find something good in them." The blue haired human looks back to the ocean again and raises his right hand to aim out to the waves that begin to rise with the coming storm, "Chaos will always survive though it is the responsibility of the kind hearted to stunt it's growth before it overtakes peace. You see young Pilar, good cannot exist without evil and evil cannot exist without good. If one over takes the other..." One of the waves grows to massive proportions and rushes towards the duo, "then we are left with nothing." The waves would slam into the duo drowning them in it's mass before Pilar would find herself laying down on a cloud hanging high above the ocean, Revan still by her side with his legs dangling off the edge, "All you need to know is that I have seen the good in you, Pilar. As such, I will protect you from whatever evil seeks to eliminate you - that is, so long as you keep doing your job."

Pilar threw up her arms to protect herself as the wave closed in on them. When she opened her eyes, however, she found herself upon a cloud. She looked at Revan after he made his promise to protect her. "My.. job?" To continue to be good and work against the chaos, she supposed. Though it brought another question to her mind. "Those who you gave black or red roses... what will you do to them?"

Revan sits in silence for what seems like an eternity as Pilar inquires about the fate of the other recipients and if she were to blink she'd miss the very moment his head snaps towards her to continue that unfaltering stare, the glow a fusion of red and blue. "That is information you cannot be provided. While your heart is gold, your lips are loose and trust is not something easily earned."

"You will hurt them," Pilar said, voice shaking slightly. He didn't need to say it, his reluctance to tell her anything was enough proof for her. "Please, you cannot..." Oh, but he could, and would. "Not my friends... not Artia..."

Revan smiles again before picking himself up to strafe across the cloud while levitating until he lowers himself directly beside Pilar, his hand moving to rest on her shoulder which would send a powerful wave of calming emotion rushing over her, "You assume far to much on things you do not know, Pilar. You've been on edge since you plucked that petal, it isn't needed. I need you to understand this one thing, I am not your enemy... now breathe." As his last word is spoken the cloud beneath them dissipates sending her falling back to the ocean though she would be unable to feel fear or any other negative emotions as she descended into the water leaving her to wake up on the floor of the room she had summoned Revan in, the flower beside her still in full blossom though if she tried to pluck another petal so soon, it would simply grow back before her very eyes.

Pilar would remain in this calm, almost trance-like state, for awhile yet. Unable to think of what to do, she crawled into bed for a much-needed nap.
