Scenic View

Xzavior came in looking more amused than he had been in a while and a disappointed looking Leifa. She had lead them all the way to Xailous from Kelay and all that they had found was an old horse with a case of bad gas. "Leifa, come on little one. You did a good job leading us all the way there! That was a great job!" She had been huffy ever since she found out and was still not happy about it. Once in the cabin though he looked around for his elfess for support on cheering her up.

Sabrina had been waiting for them at the door when they came back. She was holding a metal canister with bits of dried meat sticking out. It didn’t look appealing, but she made it herself using pineapple, bourbon, hot peppers, and honey. Secretly it was quite amazing. She was practically beaming when she sees Leifa but her smile fades when she senses her demeanor. She breaks off a piece of the meat and offers it, hoping the candied deliciousness would brighten her mood.

Leifa couldn't resist the offer of food even if she was feeling under the weather. Giving the meat a sniff, seeing as it was actually prepared instead of how she normally ate it. Carefully taking it out of Ithil's hand she snapped it up and did infact brighten up and actually bounced a bit, "Again! Again!" Xzavior chuckled and shook his head, "Not the right word but at least she's learning right?"

Sabrina smiled wide, it wasn’t the right word, but her speech was coming along quite nicely. She bends slightly towards the youngling. “Not yet.” But before Leifa can become upset by this news she adds. “First, we fly. You catch it, its yours, hm?” She indicates her bow by the door and begins to exit the cabin without it. To Xzavior she mentions the cliffs at scenic view to be a good place where they both could learn. Sabrina exited to the north.

Xzavior chewed on a bit of jerky quietly, so that Leifa wouldn't see it as him taunting her or anything. It did taste rather great, like Leifa had voiced more than once on their way here. He was nervous when she suggested the cliffs for her to fly, but that was a great place for her to take flight and all. There being no trees and all. But there was quite a drop. Better not think about that, she could do fine... When they finally reached the cliffs Leifa instantly went to the edge and looked out with an awed look. "So, what's the plan for the evening."

Sabrina steps to the cliff beside Leifa and hands the can to Xzavior before pulling the bow from her form. Aiming somewhat level to their current standpoint she fires outward. “Well, play catch.” She would keep the wind at the Wyvern’s wings, all Xzavior had to do was make sure he didn’t pass a reward beneath the current. There was nothing for the windy blasts to echo off from out here, so Sabrina made sure there was a steady supply of drafts for Leifa to catch and practice her diving, maneuverability, and speed.

Xzavior took the can and grabbed a stick and watched Leifa until she was in the air. Leifa wasn't going to keep him waiting long though. Once she felt the draft she jumped up and caught the wind. She had been practicing on her own. Though, not very successfully. She was able to hover for a minute or two thought! With the wind beneath her wings, literally, she kept level for Ithil to provide more drafts for her to gain height.

Sabrina did not fire her blasts without thought. Each level created an invisible staircase of flight that would allow Leifa to shift between drafts without taking more than two to three meters of down fall in between. She would need to learn to read the wind if she ever planned on mastering it. Xzavior too, if he intended on balancing his Icy gifts with other elements around him. From here, if he chose to read between Sabrina’s line he could cast his own version and allow Leifa to fly her first storm.

Xzavior watched her fly around with a small smile on his face. He could watch her glide around like this for ages. But he wanted to see her move without help. To do that she'd need to learn. He took note of each shot and hummed quietly before lifting a hand gradually and let loose his own cold wind. Along with some dried meat for her to catch. Riding the wind as she could she saw the stick and instantly dove for it. She over shot and went right under it. Before she could fall all the way she flapped her little wings and lifted herself back up to a spot she could catch the wind and gain altitude. "Again!" she called once more finding that he still had more to offer. Shaking his head and a hand he looked at her with a raised brow, "Ask a little more nicely." She might not know the words but she could at least ask less demandingly.

Sabrina calls out to Leifa the correct words, in hopes she would learn that tone meant more than word choice. “Au’ner” She lets loose another arrow, this one causing an updraft to take her to new heights. She would not loose another until the hatchlings fall was eminent. She would take to leaning against Xzavior, looking up at Leifa almost like a mother would her own kin. Really his was as close to a child as she would likely ever get, though she would not step into that role lightly. It was Xzavior’s charge and not her place. As if curiosity got the better of him Rohk appears from the north. He weasels his way in-between his Elfess and… that man.

Xzavior sighed as Rohk forced them apart, but instead of being all huffy or annoyed by it he simply went behind the hound's back to her other side. Only giving Ro a single look before turning up to Leifa, who, after getting the extra lift soared around happily, this time repeating the phrase given to her by her Ithil. With an amused look he grabbed another stick and tossed it up high, and closer so that Leifa could snatch it out of the air. Grabbing another stick, "Hey Ro, think fast." He gave a generous side toss his way.

Sabrina watched through the corner of her eye, Ro did not swipe at him when he moved to her other side. She grinned, elbowing the hound that sat his fat ass down, even called him a softy under her breath. Her eyes were on Leifa when Xzavior tossed Ro’s treat sideward. The hound takes off, any attempt to fight the urge of a standard hound was overshadowed by the promise of food. The hound was quick, catching the piece before it hit it highest lob and swallowing it whole. He could’ve at least tasted it. The Elfess wraps an arm around Xzavior’s middle, having found the release of more blasts unnecessary at the moment. Leifa was doing good, learning well, and now flying on her own without even being aware of it.

Xzavior placed a hand on her head and kissed it lightly and murmured, "You're an amazing teacher you know that?" He looked over at Ro, guessing he would hate all this mushy stuff, but instead of letting him complain Xzavior tossed another bit of meat to appease the hound. After a while of flying Leifa realized that Ithil hadn't shot an arrow in a while. She cried out happily but she also realized that she was getting pretty tired as well. A bit harder to stay up when you aren't being assisted. She slowly started her descent but half way down she realized she hadn't had much practicing landing. With a yelp of surprise she fell headlong into Xzavior's arms, causing him to fall back with a small chuckle, "Lle ume quel ai er."

Sabrina smiled, naturally, when it was under his praise. “It is easy to guide, less easy to teach. What she knows she learns from you.” Rohk was batted eyelash away from snotting the both of them, then, there was food. He only needed to make the smallest of movements to catch it mid-air but he saw where this was going and decided to cut his losses on the rest of the morsels and head back where he came from. He nuzzles Leifa’s small body with his massive face, then gives Xzavior a look of warning should he speak of this to anyone before taking up his path. Sabrina had narrowly avoided the flapping in her landing but was pleased it was safe, thanks to her would be father. With Rohk gone it was time to relax, no fear of him ‘accidentally’ forcing the Naga to tumble off the side of the cliff to the town far below. She sits along the edge, leaving her Love and the little one to play behind her while staring at the lights that had brought the small village to life in the distance.

Xzavior put a finger to his lips with a small smirk when Ro did that. He would keep his secret. Leifa had pressed into his face lightly and babbled quietly. She really was tired after all that. Her disappointed adventure to the end of the rainbow completely forgotten at this point after something as amazing as this! He scratched under her chin and just laid there with her for a bit before she finally started to nod off. Tapping Sabrina with the tip of his tail he motioned to Leifa, whispering softly, "Think we should bring her back?"

Sabrina looked up at the moon in that reflective glean. “She should probably get some rest if she intends on doing this again any time soon.” She had hoped to help Leifa learn to fly against unimaginable torrents. One day, but for now just get her up and down with no issue. She stands, dusting off her rear and offering to lift Leifa from his form. It would be an unwise offer, considering her pain was only absent enough to be momentarily forgotten. Any strain may have proven too much.

Xzavior shook a hand dismissively and with a little focus a platform, just thick enough to hold her up formed between him and the wyvern. With enough wiggle room to slip out head first. After he was out the platform slowly sank to the ground and Leifa was left undisturbed from the event. "So what's the plan now Love? No little ones to guide in flight."

Sabrina grins wide. He had his hands free, not to mention his lips. With Ro wandering about and Leifa sleeping soundly she wraps her arms around Xzavior’s neck and brings his lips down to hers. It implied she wanted one thing, but really her mind was somewhere else. Slowly, she inched the bow between them both, insinuating a male response with the weapon as her proof. Breaks into an amused laugh before offering it to him. “Now. We see if you are ready.”

Xzavior had returned the kiss, but feeling the bow between them he looked down and rolled his eyes at the little joke, with a smile. Taking the bow he gives it another test pull and looks back at her, "You know me. I'm ready for everything!" It was quite exciting getting ready to learn something unlike anything he had done before. Almost made him want to teach her how to use cryomancy. But then again she'd have to get cold often. Really cold.

Sabrina reaches up to place his hand over the one that drew on the chord. It was thin as spiders silk, not meant to withstand his strength and she whispers. “Slowly. Gently.” It was unintentionally very sensual when she said it, words no doubt he’d have heard fall from her lips at some point before. Her smile is no less insinuating when she comes about, nudging his shoulder downward indicating he should at very least slouch so she could reach her arm around to guide his. She wouldn’t encourage him to draw on it yet, first he would need his arrow. With her other hand she delicately runs it over his shoulder and down his spine, intentionally trying to give him goosebumps. She breathes in slow, exhales silently. “What do you feel. When you do like this.” She again would draw her nails up his spine, and then back down to make clear the deep draw he should take in his lungs.

Xzavior gave her a sidelong glance as she started her little lesson, catching all the subtle little teases here and there and smirked at each one. When she made him slouch he ran his fingers along the string getting a slight feel for them, he didn't really expect her to draw along his back. Or that he could even get goosebumps but here he was with little bumps everywhere. Breathing along with her he let that be the only thing he focused on until he got the rhythm before answering. "Relaxed. Centered. Whatever you need to call it." He couldn't find the right word but he liked the feeling nonetheless.

Sabrina smiles. “Now close your eyes.” She kisses his neck, he needed to feel openly. There were tricks for that. When his eyes did close she would pull the arrow for him, using him as a conduit to the ultimate goal. Once he was able to sense the order of things he would be better at recalling the way he feels when he draws on it, and in time, duplicate it.

Xzavior closed his eyes as instructed and let her move him as she will. He trusted her not to put him in a situation that would most likely end badly. But when he got the unexplainable feeling of something around him he felt like opening his eyes to see what exactly was going on but kept them closed for the whole effect. It was an airy feeling. Nice and gentle but still had some force behind it. It was a great feeling all together. And where he felt tired before? He didn't feel much of that now.

Sabrina guides the bow up to his line of sight; his adjusted height brought the lower limb to barely several inches above the ground. She aligned her sight with his, her breath steady and synced with his and she whispers “Release, when you’re ready.” When he opened his eyes he would feel it before he saw it; pulsing between his fingers a shimmering light. It had substance; heavy towards the knock, and solid between his fingers. If he released too soon it would simply shutter to nonexistence, he would have to urge it to linger after he manages to let go.

Xzavior opened his eyes when she gave him the signal. He blinked twice when he saw the arrow nocked and ready. He kept up the slow breathing and relaxed just a bit before looking at his far out, imaginary target. And with a slow exhale let loose the arrow. He suspected it wasn't a 'fire and forget' kind of thing so once the arrow was released he held his position, eyeing the arrow as it went.

Sabrina ’s hand was still on his, holding the element in place for balance until he let go. Her hand falls from his, spine, her smile felt through the touch that lingered as his guide. “And again?” If she drew his eyes away the arrow would falter and dissipate. This time if he tried she would allow less of her will and more of his.

Xzavior gave a silent nod and pulled back slowly on the string and took another breath, feeling that nice lightness he had felt the first time. Closing his eyes for a moment, he waited till he felt the familiar weight of the arrow again. Opening his eyes he noticed a slight bit of color change to it, from white to an icy blue. Fitting he thought. But before he could let his mind stray farther he looked back at his distant target and with a breath let off another arrow of air. Keeping focus on it just like the first.

Sabrina had let go of him while he was deeply concentrated on his draw. She arched a brow at the blue light, knowing she hadn’t taught him that but finding it fitting since he would be harnessing the energy by himself, the cold would have been familiar to him. As the arrow flows there is a burst in the distance, the spread of the push force expanding into a shower of white that lasted several seconds. Her smile was approving. His previous skills appeared to make his learning all the easier.

Xzavior lowered the bow and looked back at her with his own smile. "Well would you look at that. Getting two things to learn to do something all in one night." He moved over and gave her a kiss, "You are a wonderful teacher." He looked up though and hummed a bit. "It's getting rather late. I think we should head back." Knowing that she would probably agree he went and scooped up Leifa, with a growl of protest for being disturbed from her peaceful rest, and looked back to her before heading out.

Sabrina agreed completely, having watched him pick up Leifa she stows the bow across her form and follows him home. Tonight she would sleep peaceful, and probably force him to let her sleep in.
