Kreekitaka's Fine Imports

Before you stands what could possibly be the strangest building in all of Larket. It is seemingly constructed out of a massive snail shell, anchored in place atop a tall support structure made from what appear to be the chitinous legs and carapace from some humongous crab, with a rising spiral staircase up to the front entrance decorated with coral and greenery to simulate a reef and lit with glowing green orbs which, on close inspection, are filled with tiny bioluminescent fish swimming in a circle. Above the doorway, which is covered merely with a thick curtain during open business hours, is a sign that reads "Kreekitaka's Fine Imports" and features a symbol of some kind of ancient sea creature--a trilobite, for those who know such things It's certainly a spectacle, that's for certain, but the wonders don't end with the exterior of the building.

Inside, the walls are covered in a dark fabric which glows softly, giving the illusion of endless space, making the shop appear far larger than its exterior would suggest. The area is lit by chandeliers made from glowing cylinders which seem to hang weightlessly in the air. The ceiling is covered by a massive tapestry depicting a coral reef, in vibrant hues of red and orange and purple and green, with fish of all types darting about. Parts of the tapestry actually seem to change color, slowly shifting through the spectrum, while others glow with pulsating light. The overall effect is that of living fabric, as if the very essence of the coral reef was breathing animation into the artwork. Mannequins dot the floor, each wearing a garment more brilliant than the last. Here is a ball gown of deep purple, with a bright green bust and small wings attached to the back. Here is a sundress with a knee-length skirt, of a bright blue and wave patterns embroidered into it in shimmering silver. Some outfits change color, like the tapestry, while others glow brightly. There are designs for men, as well--fashionable suits, durable-yet-stylish everyday wear, just as exotic and fancy as the women's clothing, though most of the shop seems to be geared towards women's wear. One corner of the shop is different, however: rather than gowns or tuxedoes, it features mannequins wearing strange armor, crafted from the leather of bizarre sea creatures--one is made from sharkskin, another the carapace of some crustacean, while another has the spines of a blowfish. Every outfit, every suit of armor, is marked with the same symbol of the trilobite as the sign outside. Just when you thought you might have gotten over the strangeness of this shop, you notice the being assisting the other customers--some sort of large crab person. Clearly this whole place is bizarre--but perhaps the fineries within are worth it.

Kreekitaka was here working on a dress. For a guy. Not how he'd anticipated spending these past few days. But, there was a first time for everything. And what a dress this was. He hadn't finished all the stitching yet, but the fabric was cuttlefish-based and shifted through the spectrum in waves. Managing the customers of the store was a different uyeer--there were few, what with the recent earthquake and public opinion changes, but fortunately business was picking up a bit again with the charity ball fast approaching.

Brennia enters up to the establishment and announcing softy, "Hello?" She wonders at the unique storefront and her wings hug closer to her curves indoors. She also started to wonder who was in here which Artia urged her to meet so badly. She would offer a kind and cautions smile to managing Uyeer, "Hello, yes… I am here in searching for, ah… Kreekuta?" The name sounded wrong as soon as she said it, but Artia was so flustered and busy with the baby that Brennia didn't really have time to commit the name to memory. The height commanded attention of those alone, but her posture commanded respect in a regal fashion, somehow… Old habits die hard.

Kreekitaka responded easily enough to the first part of his name, and as he came out from the back of the store, the woman--so used to towering over people--might suddenly feel a bit small. The crabman was head and shoulders above her and much broader. Each step could likely be heard thumping on the floor before he came out, and now that he was in the room the soft clicking and clacking of his various bits of carapace tapping each other, never still, simply added to the otherworldliness of the crustacean king. "KreekiTAH!ka," he corrected, rolling his shoulders and crossing his arms. "An' you are...?"

Brennia craned her neck to try and peek in the back at the sound of pounding and once it came closer she sees the crustacean, she remembers of him, but not what their only meeting consisted of. She only remembers of being in awe of him once more, "Merry Meet." She curtsies politely with fist over heart, "I am Brennia Smyth." Her bardic silky alto timbre swims on the air between them while those deep oceanic blues take in details of the crabman before her, "Apologies KreekiTAH!ka." Her warming smile spreads across her plump lips as she continues her purpose here, "I am a member of the Bard's Guild and a lot of my fellow mates would love to put on plays." Her gaze wonders to his works with fabrics, "And I was told you would be able to help us out?" She saunters a little closer to the crustacean to look at an item on a rack near him, he may notice the Avain carrying his most favorite scent coming from the woman, "And of course you would be most welcome to attend any and all concerts as a benefactor."

Kreekitaka hadn't any real sense of smell above water, though somehow he detected a faint... sense, about the woman. Something vaguely reminiscent of blood and steel--a smell of victory, one could say. She must be a real winner of a person--but she worked with a bard's college. Hrm. Help out? "How?" he asked, tilting his head a little and shifting his weight slightly. "I mean, I can pyay percussion, however I am no--" Then it clicked. Plays. Performance art. They were going to need costumes. Duh, Kree. Remember a few months back when you were a big ridiculous jellyfish? "--neverminDAH!, I see whaTAH! you're saying. I'DAH! be happy TAH!oo assisTAH!." Arts funding and other such benevolent projects would be a brilliant way to help turn his public image back around. It'd be great for PR.

Brennia bowed shortly to the large crab before nodding, "Thank you much! We shall be in touc-" Her deep blues spot an extravagant dress in the background as she cranes her neck once more to see back there, "Oh! What a lovely dress!" She thinks a moment as she rights herself to look back up at the crustacean's eye ball things, "Say… Is that a gown being made for the Charity Benefit this coming week?" Her gaze twinkles in kindness when that smile spreads wider to expose her perfect pearly whites.

Ameno had in his hands a small packet of papers as he walked up to the Fine Imports, He wore a blue vest with blue sleeves and blue pants and boots, being a white draconian this made an excellent color blend, or at least in his mind. As he entered the door he realized he had walked into a current meeting with a customer, so he chose, to wait a moment until they were done, as his reason for here was of financial interests.

Kreekitaka lowered one of his uppermost paddles and lifted an eyestalk. Globular eyes are great for things like seeing behind yourself. "Hm? Perhaps. HHHTHe cusTAH!omer may have saiDAH! someHHHTHing abouTAH! wearing iTAH! HHHTHere, buTAH! I suspecTAH! HHHTHere may be... hrm... oHHHTHer uses HHHTHey have in minDAH!." Oh my. Kree, for his part, tried not to speculate too much as to the circumstances surrounding the dress. "I have every inTAH!ention of aTAH!enDAH!ing myseff, however." It was a bit surprising nobody had asked him to help out yet, honestly.

Brennia holds one of the dresses up to her form, but it would be ill fitting for her curves, "What do you think of this one Sir KreekiTAH!ka?" She then quickly puts the dress back, "You know what?! I have willing models for your fashion!" She didn't have to speak loudly for the tall being to hear her as she was able to use her bardic magic to throw her voice, but he would easily hear her excitement, "I know I will be performing as well and I could show off some of your work if you have something… My size." She notes her tall stature and curvy figure as it's always hard to find nice dresses that go with the large onyx wings.

Kreekitaka was about to answer that she'd do better with a larger size, but then she immediately moved on to a different subject. Or at least, semi-different. "Oh? I--hm. I have suffereDAH! a yoss recenTAH!yee--I haDAH! many maTAH!eriohs mayDAH! for a fashion show which can no yonger TAH!ake pyace DAH!ue TAH!oo an unfortunaTAH! DAH!eaHHHTH. If you have moDAH!ohs, I can have many ouTAH!fiTAH!s broughTAH!. For you... I suggesTAH! finDAH!ing your favoriTAH!s from a yarger section an' borrowing HHHTHem. I can make one or TAH!oo specificayee for you, buTAH! I haven'TAH! TAH!ime for more."

Brennia beams a bright smile up at the crustacean of which pokes dimples in her cheeks causing the most stone hearts to melt. "Look how this worked out! I am glad I was sent to you and I shall gift you for your kindness some other time with a song?" She softly clasps her hands together while she nods in understanding of his tight schedule and grabs a large draping royal blue dress to match her eyes, but also pops on her caramel complexion skin, "Thoughts?" She holds it up, but the waist would have to be taken in to flatter her form.

Kreekitaka did very much want songs written about him. The smile which would melt any human heart was just another expression of landpeople body language to him, however. "HHHTHe coyor is gooDAH!, however Io have TAH!oo TAH!ake in HHHTHe waisTAH! a biTAH!. An' I greaTAH!yee appreciaTAH! HHHTHe offer of a song. HHHTHere are severoh HHHTHings I have DAH!one which are songworHHHTHy, an' if I can geTAH! HHHTHe peepo humming catchy TAH!unes abouTAH! my being gooDAH!, perhaps HHHTHey'o come arounDAH! again quicker." He rippled his paddles up and down, quite pleased.

Brennia offered an impish smile with a mischievous glint in her eye before she hands the dress over the counter to be rung up so she may pay for the dress to be altered, "I shall be seeing you soon Sir KreekiTAH!ka." She waves a regal goodbye before her curtsy and fist over heart parting while saying, "Merry part until we merry meet again." She turns and saunters her way out of the establishment.
