RP:Demolition Continues in Frostmaw

Part of the Appeasing Aramoth Arc

Snow Covered Ruined Wall

Asailu had rested up well at the Frostmaw tavern from her work with Mihael. The splinters had been dug free from her fingers and wrapped with bandages. Cloak pulled tightly around her thing frame as the fur-lined boots left the slightest trace of the woman’s movement deep into the hunting grounds and beyond. Arriving at the sight of the work done Asailu could do nothing but smile. The ground was cleared of the debris; wood in piles, other stuff in another pile, and the large fires were still going only much smaller in size. The slabs from the wall still stacked towering over the little woman as she admired them. This time the elf had brought a numerous amount of potions and poisons to help.

Mihael walked into the clearing, his chains rattling as they dragged behind him. He spots Asailu and offs a smile, which the mask changes its shape to form. Looking about he too is pleased with their work from earlier, he motions for Smokey to come over to him. As the bird hops its way over, the lycan begins to decide what to do with what remains before him. The slabs of stone are too big to carry all the way out of Frostmaw, how could he use them to his advantage. It then occurs to him, what he could do. "Oye, strange elf, I'm going to need your help moving things around." He says while with one hand he drives his staff into the ground and with the other he pulls from his side one of his pick axes. The lycan begins to mark out massive area and includes the entire region of what has already been cleared out by the pair. Scratching the outline deep into the ground while he say aloud, "I'm going to need you to move those pieces of metal over there." The lycan points toward the piles of stone slabs as he says this. Once he is finished he begins to dig, "After your done with that, I need you to help me dig some stair out over by that wall, and help me dig this pit out." The hermit motions toward the outline he had created. "We are going to make us an underground tunnel, something that will benefit this area."

Kuiai accepting a letter delivered a few days ago, finally makes his way back to Frostmaw. It sure is a long walk from Enchantment, a place of warm, serene images to a place where snow and ice are common and the land is bare of color. He follows the directions given to him, still clothed in his black armor and thankful for it too. It is cold here and his armor remains hot on the inside as he moves around. The bull man stands out against the white of snow. His fur like hair is black, his armor is black and even his horns are a greyish black. Baby blue eyes take in the scene that he walks in on and quickly recognizes one out of the two here. "Asailu! Been a while since we last talked. By the looks of things here, I am guessing you are part of the cleanup crew." His voice is deep, typical of a minotaur, but its still a bit sophisticated enough to tell he is from Larket. Weapons still tied to his belt, he stretches some, pops his fingers while in his gauntlets, then moves forward, "What do you need me to do? I have helped with the Fountain in Vailkrin, so heavy items are not a problem for me to move."

Asailu smiled to see Kuiai show up to join the crew. His strength would help out so much compared to just her and the old man in chains. Smiling at him she gave him a quick hug before heading off to start moving the metal objects as instructed by Mihael. “We are going to be digging a pit to make unground tunnels.” She pointed to the line etched into the ground that Mihael had made. She would introduce the two but she only knew the name of one of the men. She then handed him a rather large vial, “If you pour this on the ground it should unfreeze it enough to start digging the top layer.” Filling up her arms with what she was able to carry she started her duty, humming softly as she worked.

Mihael glances up at the stranger who has now come to join them, he continues to dig into the ground however. "Stranger, you can help by digging for now once you pour that vial." He says to Kuiai. The small phoenix that accompanied Mihael begins to send bursts of flame onto the ground to help thaw out the ice upon the ground while also burning the earth as it does so. The ancient lycan growls as he looks around, only three of them, this would need more than just the three of them. He pauses and reaches into his pocket, pulling out a pipe he sparks the weed within. Taking a few puffs he lets out a large cloud of smoke while muttering. The smoke changes and begins to form what seem like humanoid shapes, it is then that they solidify and form three clones of the hermit. Afterwards he puts the pipe away and continues to dig while speaking to the clones. "I need you two," he points to the farthest ones, "to start digging out that area." Mihael motioned toward the south east area of the marked out clearing, "We are going to put a relaxation area there." The hermit then points to the north east area of the clearing, "You, go and dig out that area, we are putting in a stable. That way they can have a place to put their pets and such while they train." Once their orders are given the clones begin their tasks of digging into the ground. Standing up and turning to face Asailu andKuiai, "If you both would kindly then dig out the north west area once your finished, there we will put a weapons storage, while I dig out this area to put in a catacomb." With that he goes back to work, digging out the south west area. While he says all this, the voices all speak at once, each word said by multiple beings it seems.

Kuiai just doesn't like magic at all and seeing the clones made him uncomfortable. But he keeps his mouth shut and pours the vial onto the snow and ice. He also pulls off his flail and swings it down at the ice, breaking it up as well as loosening the ground beneath it. He snorts and grins, as he works away and scoops the slush mix away from the outlined area. His fur like hair shimmers from the pixie dust that has collected in it as he moves. A long thick tail flails around to balance out the minotaur as he swings at the ground and uses his feet to push debris out of his way. Large stone blocks and wooden beams that also lie in the way, Kuiai picks up and moves like they are blankets. It didn't even seem to bother him to move those items, and he stacks them neatly in piles, in the hopes that they may be reused to save from having to cut down trees and destry more of the forest and plantlife that is around.

Asailu continued on her task of moving the metal debris from point a to point b as the two men started their digging task. She paused a moment to watch as the clones appeared before her very eyes. Blinking away the new image she started back to work. Armful after armful moved. It was just earlier she had moved all those pieces into that pile and now she was moving them once more. It was not long though before she had them all moved to the new location. With that task complete she fetched her pick and started helping out with the digging, close to Kuiai, but not in his direct way.

Mihael continues to dig and hack away at the stones beneath him, stopping every so often to move the pile out of the area he will be turning into a catacomb. After several hours he has dug an area roughly forty feet by forty feet, and is now seven feet below ground level. The two clones that were working on the relaxation area have now dug out a clearing of sixty feet by sixty feet, while being twelve feet below ground level. The single clone working on the stable area, has dug out a pit fourteen feet below ground level, and is thirty feet by thirty feet. The many hermits continue to dig, taking breaks only to move the debris out of their way so that they might continue to work. Piles of stones, pillars and corpses are dug up. The corpses are carefully carried away and placed together, where they will later be placed to rest. Muttering to himself the lycan carries a conversation with himself. "You are rather rude.", a voice says "How so?", he asks. "Barking orders without so much as an introduction or a please." A separate voice states. "Tis a shame he is that way no?" The first voice asks the second, "Tis a shame indeed." The second voice answers with a chuckle. "Would you both shut up!" Mihael almost shouts to himself. He throws his pick axe down and grabs his head for a moment. After a moment he looks around before going back to work as if nothing happened.

Kuiai lifts his head to smile at Asailu as she comes to join him, which gives him an opportunity to ask her something and talk about his plans. "Asailu, you know the swamps of Gualon better than I ever will or do. If a group of people decided to take refuge there, where would the best spot be?" He works hard and despite the cold air of Frostmaw, his armor remains hot and he has broken out in a sweat, coating his face and hair. He has a good rythem going with how he digs and breaks the dirt up, when the voices disturb him and he stops, looks at Asailu with a raised brow and confusion in his eyes. His tail gives a nervous flick and he moves between the cloans and their creator and Asailu, taking up a protective role of his clanmate. He lifts his head some, "Excuse me sir! Are you alright over there? Need some help?" He is polite enough to ask though, working hard to bring a new light to the minotaur people.

Asailu had gotten to the point where working with a fur lined cloak was causing her to sweat and that was not something she fancied. So off went the cloak and the swamp elf began her work once more in nothing but a bikini made from swamp foliage and fur lined boots. Hacking away at the ground with Kuiai was nice to have someone to speak with. “Deep within the swamps, past the spider tree, and then off to the north just beyond the ridge that marks the end of the swamp. Searching for more of your kind?” She asked before the outbreak of the voices. It was then she stopped working to take a small break. Then again she was afraid to accidently whack Kuiai in the rear end after he changed his stance.

Mihael looks up at the voice of the minotaur, "Aye, I am well. Just the voices in my head talking as they usually do." As usual whenever he speaks several voices speak at once, all saying the same thing. Continuing to work the hermit lets out a sigh as he has now reached the point of where the catacomb will be at and has now only to dig its depth. Having several feet to go he is relieved to see that he is almost done with this. Soon he will begins to build the catacombs themselves. The clones continue to labor, though one of the two, the once closest toward the pair, looks up to see Kuiai come closer. Ignoring this however they have now completed their task, they go to assist the third in completing its task. Rather embarrassed however Mihael stops working and turns to the elf and minotaur, "Pardon me, but I must…eh…tend to other things." With that he looks to the clones while they look back, suddenly they all burst into smoke and vanish.

Kuiai has just turned back around to continue digging, making the hole deeper and deeper, but leaves a dirt ramp to get to and from the dug out path, then the hermit says he has to go and he stands up and looks to the male, "That's a shame, but things do happen. See you around." He whiped his head with a sigh, then turns toward Asailu, "Aye, I am looking for my bretheren. I want to speak with them, convince them to join the warband and win their favor and respect. I'm want to make sure I have followers so I can take my place in the future as Minotaur High King."

Asailu was well worn out from all the work so when the pick slipped from her hands and flew at Kuiai it wasn’t surprising to the elf in one bit. He was armored after all. Watching Mihael leave she figured it was best she do the same before she passed down in the dirt dug area. There was plenty of time to work some more tomorrow. “I am going to head back to town myself. Meet me in a few days’ time in the swamps and we can venture around. Until then I will search tomorrow to see if I see any signs of which way they are.”

Kuiai feels the digging tool hit him in his lower torso, buthe is thankful for his armor. He grins and picks it up, "Be careful. I will see you again soon. I am going to sty here a bit longer and continue to work here." He bowed deeply to Asailu and handed her the digging tool back as he moves down into the hole and digs more and more, no brake taken since he is larger and can handle working longer than most. Asailu nodded to him with a yawn. “I will see you around, Kuiai.” With that she was climbing out of the digging hole to fetch her cloak. Putting it back on she waved to the working man and then took off toward the tavern to rest while Kuiai continued to dig away into the frozen ground.
