RP:Defeated, Scared and Angry

From HollowWiki
This RP takes place immediately after Tyler's defeat against Javier in the Chartsend Fighting Tournament. Javier stabs the man through the stomach with his two-handed sword and leaves Tyler beaten and bloodied on the floor

Chartsend Garrison

The rebuilt garrison is a formidable building. Heavy iron doors lead into a large communal area where guardsmen are busy working. Even when off duty they cannot resist polishing armour and sharpening weapons. Two guards spar with staffs in one corner while others, more relaxed, are playing cards. Sleeping quarters and a well stocked kitchen lie to the rear. Double doors head to the roads West and South and another set to the well used training fields. A staircase leads upstairs, the murmur of gentle voices and smell of herbs suggest this is where Gwenilyn has her clinic in Chartsend.

Tyler releases a gasp as the sharp blade pierces his flesh. Lifted from the ground with only the blade to support him his eyes lock with Javier's in a pleading stare as tears well up and his hands grab and scratch at the knight's, begging to let him go. As the man boots Tyler from his blade the frail human falls to the ground with a thud. He tries multiple times to stand only to collapse under the pain of his wounded leg and gut, blood spills from his body rapidly as the man tries to crawl away before finally collapsing to the ground in defeat, his eyes rolling to the back of his head as he blacks out while Javier makes his leave.

Skylei had snuck to the fight without Tyler's knowledge. In spite of the half-elf's earlier objections she had almost been curious to see how the male fought against a real opponent. So she had sat and watched and kept as silent and still as she could. Until this point. As Tyler collapses to the ground, the girl's stomach flips violently and she throws all caution into the wind and runs across the Garrison until she is by Tyler's side. His blood seeps up into her clothes as she realises that, with a wound this severe she can do absolutely nothing. Blind panic has rendered the usually vocal half-elf completely silent and eyes would scan the surroundings, begging for anyone with any knowledge of healing to come to Tyler's aid.

Raphaline is here. Actually the entire time because it is only fitting that the bard of Chartsend bare witness to many of the duels. But the wound he sustains, and the blood has the bard's stomach churning. Before any of the healers can be alerted, the bard dashes to the illusionist. Her actions are not fueled by the familiarity of friendship, but instead, the humaneness of her heart. Someone was in pain, and she, with some ability with healing, could not stand by. It only made the bard even more worried as she sees Skylei enter the arena--was this him? Without a second thought, she kneels down next to her friend. "Go get the healers." She tells her as she places her hands gently against the wound on the male's stomach. "I can only do so much, go get the healers." She repeats as the bard begins to hum. Her humming awakens her magic with such haste, her breath is literally taken from her. The vibrations, the music, it called to her like a siren, and as she melded with it, she could feel it flowing into the body below her. It was a song to call to what remained alive in him, to render the flesh into knitting itself back together, but she could not call to what had already been lost. There would be much to suffer, much of his blood was already gone.

Tyler had been flickering in and out of complete darkness, his eyes catching sight of Skylei as she came to his side. His hand quickly jolts to grab her leg and squeezes it with all of his might as his body convulses and the gargled sound of blood rising from his throat is made audible. His left hand reaches up and begins clawing at the mask that covers his mouth as he begins to drown in his own blood. He is unable to remove the mask as the bard rushes to his aid and begins her hymn, so he simply continues clawing at the cloth and gripping Skylei's leg making it rather difficult for her to take off.

Skylei wouldn't have left Tyler's side, even if she had been able to. As her grips her leg, she would offer him the closest thing to a reassuring smile that she could manage although it is much closer to a gurn that to a smile. Her hand would rest firmly on top of his on her leg and her eyes are pinned to his face. Fortunately, this allows the half-elf to realise that the mask he adorns needs to removed from his face. Deft hands would swipe forward, abandoning his hand for a brief moment, so that they may tear the fabric from his face in the hope of allowing much needed oxygen to seep into his throat. Raphaline is not given any form of greeting; indeed it is debateable that the half-elf even knows that she is there at all, or if she is aware of her presence, Sky certainly has not recognised her redheaded friend. She certainly did not hear her words. Whilst her first hand regrips Tyler's, Sky would attempt to stroke his hair in the most comforting fashion she can manage.

Raphaline pours as much of her magic into the healing as she can, but the strain does begin to wear on her immensely. Her voice begins to grow ragged and her body begins to shake as she tries to break the bond between herself and the magic. Once her thoughts are gathered, she gets a look at who was still around her. The healers, being alerted by others in the area, are dashing over, trying to shoo both women out of the way as bandages and magic are beginning to be used. With all the magic buzzing about the bard has to back away, it was too much buzzing in her own head. "Sky." She says, finally getting a chance to place a hand on the other woman's shoulder, "He will live."

Tyler gasps for air as blood spills from his maw and races down his cheek when Skylei removes the mask. His chest heaves in and out as his rasp voice tries to fill his lungs with air but simply cannot. As the healer rush by his side his hand continues to grab for Skylei, but despite his best efforts the man is separated from the wood elf and his eyes once again roll back and his fades into unconsciousness.

Skylei is finally alerted to Raphaline's presence as her friends hand falls upon her shoulder. Drawn out of the moment of blind panic and away from her love the reality of the situation finally hits her and Sky, now dripping with his blood, begins to cry hysterically. She desperately longs to be back beside Tyler, but instead she would cling to the bard and continue weeping as the healers go about their duties; keeping Tyler alive.

Gwenilyn's Clinic

When you enter the clinic all is peaceful and serene. Only a faint murmur reminds you of what lies beneath. A gentle voiced healer directs you to sit and take your ease while a healer is found. One can distinguish Gwen's influence here. A musician sits in one corner playing soft, gentle music on his lyre. Planters grace the area, some with multi-hued flowers, others with herbs. This, combined with the music helps to create an aura of peace and tranquility, all designed to help the healing process. Several beds lie about the room, each with its own screen for privacy. Supply cabinets can be seen containing herbs, cleansing supplies, linens, sponges and other things needed for the treatment of wounds. In addition, there are a few comfortable chairs for those not ill enough to require a bed. Gwenilyn herself often oversees the art of healing in this peaceful place. If not Gwenilyn herself, then a number of talented healers from the Guild take their turns here.

Skylei had spent a good half hour arguing with the healers at the door of the clinic before she had relented to their demands that she went and cleaned herself up before she would be permitted entry. Fortunately, what with her living in the city, it hadn't taken her too long to go home, wash Tyler's blood from her skin and dress in fresh clothes. Her hair lay damp down her back and her eyes were still red from the tears that she had cried upon seeing Tyler's broken body upon the floor earlier. Finally allowed to enter the clinic, the half-elf would be led across the floor to the bed where Tyler was laid up. It takes all her strength not to begin crying again and she manages, save for a stifled sob. She would take a seat alongside the bed and take one of his hands into her own. She can't tell if he is awake, unconscious or asleep, and she is silent in case he has fallen into slumber.

Tyler lay motionless on the bed with his right hand laid across the wound on his stomach. The human had been cleaned up a bit but the sheets around him were still stained a dark red with blood and his right hand lay across the recently shut wound. His mouth was slightly ajar and his eyes closed with a wheeze to his breathing pattern. As Skylei approached and took his bloodied hand his eyes slowly flickered open and his caramel gaze took to the wood elf though he couldn't speak he would simply squeeze at her hand weakly with what energy he could muster.

Skylei lifts her unoccupied her hand to her face and uses it to shield her face from Tyler's eyes as she winces at his physical condition. Pulling the chair a little closer to the bed, the half-elf would move her thumb in soft circular motions across the back of his hand as he squeezed it. She daren't stroke his hand any harder in case she causes him anymore pain. She would put her head a little closer to his as she whispered a tiny greeting "Hi". She doubted, what with his wheezing, that he would be able to speak to her at all but she didn't know what else to do.

Tyler would close his eyes and reopen them multiple times as he tried to stay awake. His hand tightening and releasing as his bottom lip quivered. His eyes would began to violently scan around the room and the hand placed on his wound would move to point to his bloodied mask that rested atop of a night stand by the bed side before falling back to his side. His eyes filled with pain as he struggled to swallow, tears filled his eyes and his body began to jerk lightly. With coarse words he spoke a simple statement; "G-get... me... -out- of here." Though his words were vague and his reasoning unclear it was obvious that Tyler wasn't comfortable in Chartsend. As the tears began to roll down his cheek the mans teeth would chatter and his face filled with a blur of anger, sorrow and fear.

Skylei feels as though she is agony watching Tyler's pain. Eyes would scan his form, from trembling lip to tear filled eyes and his frailly convulsing body and, as she does, her own eyes begin to fill with tears. She is helpless to make his pain go away and all she is able to do is sit and watch and pray. Her heart wrenches as she hears his words and she would give his hand a gentle squeeze. Sky would shake her head in response to his request, "No, darling, no. Look at yourself. I can't." She would have loved nothing more to have granted his request. But again, the half-elf is filled with a sense of failure. What was she to do? Pick him up and carry him across the land on her back? He would surely end up dead.

Tyler grits his teeth as his face begins to twist and turn into a variety of emotions. The human releasing a cry of pain as he sits up. Three healers would began moving towards his bed encouraging the man to stay down and as one places their hand on his shoulder he pulls back and clocks them directly in the jaw with a blunt blow from his tightened fist. As the healer falls the other two would force him back down and quickly pull out a syringe to inject the human with a blue substance that causes him to go limp after a moment of resistance. Tears continue to pour down his face as he cries out in pain and anger to the staff who started moving to other patients and tending to their own who had taken the blow. Tyler looks back to Skylei and his throat tenses as he tries to speak before the liquid begins to take effect and his body loosens up and relaxes. His hand finds Skylei's again and he grips it tightly; "I'm... so... sorry." His eyes are locked with her own as his right hand begins scratching at the wound again. Though the wound had been sealed by the healers his mind felt as if it were still open, his insides exposed to the world.

Skylei would drop Tyler's hand as the healer's crowd around and attend to their patient. All of her years spent living in the home of a healer could not prepare her for the torturous agony of watching the one she loved sliced open and treated to. So often she had watched with wide-eyed fascination as the druids had treated all manner of wounds with magic and medicines and now, at the most simple of procedures she felt sick to her stomach. Her eyes had been closed to the punch and all she had heard was the healer's cry of pain. She had only begun to look on the world again as she heard them move away, and as soon as her eyes are opened she found them interlocked with Tyler's. Forcing a faux-cheerful note to her voice, she would shake her head and tell him, "It's fine." Her eyes are soon distracted by the scratching motion of his right hand and she would lean across his body to try and take hold of it, "Don't, don't. You'll only hurt yourself more."

Tyler dug his nails deep into his stomach as she reached for his hand. The man almost didn't seem like himself, the experience had left a mental impression his mind that continued to play over and over. He was sad that he was eliminated from the tournament, confused as to why Javier was so determined to kill him from the start and immensely furious that he hadn't killed the knight himself. That stupid lions helm was stuck in his mind as Tyler played a scenario of holding it under water while the knight beneath drowned a slow painful death. It was the first time he had a strong urge for vengeance and his teeth bit deep into his bottom lip as he played the thought through his mind. Though it would fade as he looked upon Skylei in an attempt to calm himself. The injection seemed to be kicking in as his breath would stabilize and his voice came closer to the norm. "H-he tried to kill me, Sky." His face twitches and eyes close tight. "The bastard had no, no, n-no reasoning. H-he was just blood thirsty." His teeth take aim on his tongue and pierce it through a tense bite, blood now coming from the mans mouth when he speaks. "I-I'll have his life." Tyler's gaze had lost the hint of emotions apart from pure anger. He swallowed down the blood that flooded his mouth and his grip tightened on Skylei's hand, the tears had gone and he only looked as if the death of Javier was the one thing in his mind.

Skylei hadn't spared a single thought for Javier since the fight's end and the knight's exit. With Tyler's mention of him she would simply hush him, "Shh, love. We can talk of that some other time. Perhaps when you look less like death." She had seen the intensity in his gaze and the blood that came flying from his mouth as he spoke, but foolishly the half-elf had written it off merely as an effect of the medication he had taken, or a passing whim brought on by the serious physical and mental trauma wreaked upon his body and mind only hours previous. And so she would offer a joke, "And besides, you would have to beat me to him." Her hand would still linger on his stomach, keen to prevent him from reopening the newly healed wound.

Tyler :: It was with Skylei's words that Tyler seemed to snap out of his vengeful craze and his eyes return to a hopeless state. He forces himself into a seating position once more and tosses his arms around Skylei's neck and pulls her into an embrace. He had begun crying again and the man felt worthless. Despite his best efforts he had lost in the second round of the tournament making this the third time to get his ass handed to him in a week. It was true what he said to her the night they met, he was no fighter. The only thing keeping him sane at this moment was the wood elf before him. He was unsure why she chose to be by his side now, or in the first place at all. He was a helpless fighter, a poor man and a damn mess when it came to basic interaction. Skylei was literally all he had. The one thing keeping him from pushing himself over the edge. He dug his face into her neck and continued to sob like a child muttering over and over "I'm sorry" and "I love you".

Skylei pushes her own arms underneath his so that they might warp around his waist. They would snake around his body slowly and carefully so that she did not press upon any wounds that were not yet properly healed, but she cannot stop herself from embracing him tightly. His tears would spark her own and soon the two would be crying together, although the Sky was much less vocal than the human. Her own face would be buried in his hair and she planted comforting kisses upon his head as salty tears rolled down her face and fell upon him. The reason why she was by his side, she knew well. Indeed, it was all she knew; she loved him and never wanted to be without him. Whatever his shortcomings were, she cared not.

Tyler would finally bring himself to break the embrace as he did his eyes would scan the room once more before he turned to the wood elf and spoke in a near whisper. "The bard has s-seen my face. I-I don't want to be here." He reaches over the edge of his bed and would tuck the mask towards Skylei before he reached to his stomach once more and scratched at the wound. "I can't b-be here. They won't let me l-le-leave." His eyes pleaded with hers as his hand continued to furiously attack the flesh on his stomach. "You have. to get me. out of here." He took a deep breath every few words as he struggled to remain calm. "Please, Sky."

Skylei would roll her eyes at his talk of Raphaline, "I can assure you, I'm rather sure she knows rather a lot more about you than just your face. But she's no threat" Sky thinks back to her last encounter with the flame-haired bard and her drunken confessions about having fallen in love with someone. Well, Raphaline wasn't stupid and she would have undoubtedly put two and two together and pieced the entire messy puzzle that was Tyler together. Her face would flush at her partial confession and she would lean her head towards him so that even those with the best ears would not have a chance in hearing what they were discussing, "So we leave? Where do we go then?" Sky would not agree to this without a sensible plan. Looking down she would see that his hands were still scratching at his stomach. Her own hand would lightly swat his with a sharply hissed reprimand and threat, "Stop it, or you can stay here for as long as they want you too."

Tyler places his hand by his side in an attempt to stop the scratching. Taking a moment to ponder the settlement of Chartsend he would run his tongue across fiercely chapped lips before nodding in silent agreement with himself. "There are some caves along a c-cliff to the west of this area. We go there until I'm well enough to travel... t-then, we go home." His eyes still seemed to plead with Skylei. He knew the caves weren't the best location for a wounded man to seek refuge but he couldn't stand being around these people in the clinic. Without his consent his hand had found it's way back to his stomach and was scratching again although not as hard.

Skylei places her forehead on his shoulder in utter despair. Caves. Tyler wanted them to run away from the nice, clean, safe, clinic with its plentiful supplies of medicine and healers and go and sleep in a cave for several days whilst he healed. Well, there was only one obvious answer. "Tyler…" Sky would sigh despondently before pausing for a few seconds, "Okay." With all her stupid heart did she love this man and thus was willing to do the most idiotic things to make him happy. Still, she spotted the muffled movement of his hand upon his stomach again and this time would wrap her own hand around it in order to stop the scratching. She offered no complaint, simply a very pointed look that this was not to be tolerated.

Tyler would find himself tightening the grip on her hand that had taken his which insisted to scratch the wound. His eyes would adjust from her own to his belt and then back again multiple times. He was hinting for her to reach into the small pouch and remove the final capsule that he had left from the Kitsune. The man didn't want to waste another minute in this place. If Skylei were to cooperate, Tyler would have her toss the Capsule to the floor to engulf the room in a thick smoke while the two fled through down into the Garrison and then towards the cliffs. However, he would also eye a nearby cabinet that held supplies for new patients including herbs, pills, a blanket and a pillow.

Skylei would release Tyler's hands in silence, holding a single hand up to ensure that he stayed silent as she did what was necessary. Moving from the chair she would first peek around the screen to ensure than none of the healers were coming to check up on Tyler. But no, they were all busy, tending to other patients or moving linen around the clinic. Withdrawing her head, the half-elf would then make for the cabinet that Tyler had been eyeing, scooping up anything and everything that would fit inside her bag and tossing the things that didn't onto the bed alongside Tyler for him to deal with. Closing the cabinet door as gently as she could, so as not to induce a banging noise and attract the healer's attention, Sky would move back around the bed so that she was alongside the human. One hand would gesture to his belt and the pouch that held the capsule, as if questioning whether that was what the human wanted her to reach for. Once she had garnered his approval, she would reach into the pouch and pull forth the smoke capsule. As she was not entirely sure how it worked she simply held it lightly in the palm of her hand until the human told her to do otherwise.

Tyler strained himself to reach over the side of his bed and grab his bag from the floor. He began packing the left over items and then winced as he tried to stand up. The wound on his leg has been closed as well but a chunk had literally been taken out making it very, very difficult to stand. Though as he rose to his feet he gave Skylei a reassuring nod to let her know he would be alright and giving her the OK to toss the capsule to the ground. His caramel eyes would glow a faint blue as mana escaped his body to begin cloaking the two in a disguise of clinic staff so those in the garrison would not question their hasty retreat. He then placed his hand on Sky's shoulder in an effort to let her know he would need help during the escape.

Skylei pulls a face of discomfort as she sees Tyler wince in pain. She was beginning to have second thoughts about this whole escape plan but they had come too far for her to change her mind now. And besides, it would absolutely devastate Tyler, and that was the only thing that she didn't want to do. Pulling his arm around her shoulders so that she might support him as they made their getaway, she would look into his eyes for a few seconds before she drops the capsule to the ground and smoke engulfs the clinic. Healers and patients alike cry out in confusion as the entire room fills with a dark cloaking fog.

Tyler :: As the smoke expands around the room the sound of guards rushing up into the clinic in response to the cries of the patrons would be the cue for the duo to make their leave. Tyler whispers for Skylei to hold her breath and begins making his way to the door using Skylei for support. As the two make it to the stairs they step aside allowing some more guards to rush up the stairs and into the clinic before descending and making their way out into the streets of Chartsend working to their destination of the caves.

Cliff Caves

The steep path eventually opens onto a wide ledge that appears to have been carved from the cliffs themselves. This gives a fine view of the town, the plains and, to the far-sighted, the distant city of Venturil. Two towns Guardsmen are here, preventing entry to a large, recently discovered cave opening.

Skylei had done as Tyler had said and held her breath as the two had exited the clinic. His illusionary disguise had served them well enough through the garrison, though Sky had been careful to dip her head so that none of the townsfolk or her clansmen might recognise her face. As they came up to the cliffs, Sky would pause in her step and gesture to Tyler that she needed a rest. He was not a particularly heavy burden but it had been a long day and she hadn't eaten very much. The last thing she wanted to do was to collapse underneath him and leave them in an awkward position. Placing her hands upon her legs, Sky would let out a few deep breaths before looking at the cliffs that were fast approaching. Two dark figures stood highlighting against the Cliffside; guards. Great, they hadn't thought of this. Looking up from her doubled over position, the half-elf would try to catch Tyler's eye to see if he too had spotted the threat to their plan.

Tyler :: The illusionary disguises' that encased Skylei and Tyler would fall to the ground and shatter into the familiar blue mana specks like glass before seeping into the earth. Reaching down he grabbed at his wounded leg tightly, hissing from behind gritted teeth he found himself wishing he'd stayed in bed. He catches Skylei's worried glare and turned to face the cave opening. A moment of thought is given before his right hand reaches out to the duo of armed men and his caramel gaze once again turns blue. The two guards would seem confused and a few shouts given before the two man began charging towards Skylei and Tyler, as they passed they would appear wounded and bloodied. Tyler lowers his hand and his eyes revert to their normal color as he turns to face the wood elf; "Problem solved." He fails to mention the nightmarish scenario he played out in the two guards minds, the burning of their family and friends with demonic entities biting at their heels in order to scare them from their posts. He thought that perhaps it wasn't the best thing to let Skylei in on. Rather he takes her hand and urges her to come with him as they approach the cave. Once inside he tosses his bag to the ground and collapses beneath his own weight and lays his head against the cool stone interior. His breathing was heavy as he looked to his beloved and spoke in a much more calm tone than when they sat inside of the clinic. "T-thank you." He swallowed hard and winced as the fresh self-inflicted wounds in his mouth began to sting. "S-so what you said i-inside... The b-bard..." His eyes offered a look of deep confusion and worry. "What does she know?"

Nixarus had been having a rather...pleasent dream of riches filling an underwater cavern and watching the light bounce of the water and shimer around her cave. But it shattered at sudden shouting, and than voices and....ugh...elf and...human, ugh. and something was laying on her leg. She hadn't thought anyone would ever think to just dive into a cave without looking, let alone check to make sure cave was cave and not scale. The large dragon shifted, dulll colored scales in the dark shifting as she moved her leg from behind the...whatever speck it was that was against her. a Glowing blue eye opened to survey what it was that had found her...and if it might be tasty.

Skylei finds that it's easier sometimes not to question what happens when Tyler engages with his mana and simply go with the flow. Her eyes would follow the retreating backs of the Chartsend guards for a few moments before she looks back to Tyler. She would take his hand when beckoned and slot her shoulder back underneath his arm so that she might support him as they walked into the cave. As they complete the walk, she falls to the ground besides him allowing her flesh, burning from exertion to be rested against the cave's cold exterior. As the heat is pulled from her cheeks the half-elf would let out a deep sigh of relief. Eventually she would respond to his question, "Raphaline. The bard. Her name is Raphaline. She doesn't know much, y'know." Sky would force her eyes to look only on the floor and not reach Tyler's gaze. Sky would sigh as she continues, though the red flush begins to creep back into her face, "I told her that I met someone. And that I… well, that I… y'know." Skylei feels suddenly overcome with shyness and instead reaches for Tyler's hand in favour of finishing her statement. She hasn't noticed the presence of a dragon in the cave at all. She's rather oblivious.

Tyler would take Skylei's hand and offered a grin at her confession of finally telling someone of their relationship, though as he goes to speak the hold behind them gives way sending him to use his elbow for support. His head turns swiftly to become face to face with Nixarus and his heart is suddenly filled with fear. A soft spoken curse is given as Tyler shuffles himself to try and hide Skylei from view, the man clearly couldn't catch a break today. He tries to speak but his voice cannot be found as he continues kicking himself backwards into Skylei. Right hand digging into the ground he scoops up some dirt and small pebbles and tosses them at the face of the dragon, though as they simply fall back down he questions his own sanity as he finally chokes out a few words. "Erm... Hello." His body begins to shake in fear as he realizes that he wouldn't be able to flee, his body too exhausted from the escape of Gwenilyn's clinic. In his mind he called out for Skylei to leave him, but not only could she have no way of hearing his thoughts but he was sure the hard headed wood elf wouldn't flee even if she could.

Nixarus watched the small human with a patronising look to her eye. Watching the dirt fall back to the floor, and silent regarded him, and then the elf behind him. The rather massive head tilted, sucking in air and breathing it out in a hot gush. Blood. lovely one of them was bleeding...and none of it smelled apealing. Hello...it spoke, no..wait...humans had genders, this one was....hm.... "you." her voice was low, rumbling and loud. she huffed a breath and tried again, lowering her volume "You." she nodded her head to it that covered the elf thing "You. what be you, you weak things have genders but I tend to forget which is which in your sad excuse for short lived beings."

Skylei :: For the gods sake. Skylei had known that there was a good reason she had initially thought that they should stay in the clinic. It was warm, it was clean and most importantly there were no dragons that might eat them living inside it. As the tender moment between the two is broken, Sky would inhale deeply and look down at where Tyler now lies. Whilst Sky cannot hear the words that Tyler is willing from his mind, she would be unlikely to run and abandon him. Instead she would stay incredibly still and quiet in the, probably ridiculous, hope that the dragon would not notice her. As the dragon talks the half-elf would push her hands to her ears in the hopes of protecting her eardrums. The sound was deafening. Sky doesn't pay attention to what the dragon is saying, she's too busy trying to find an escape route.

Tyler was known to suffer from social anxiety, the man nearly suffering from a panic attack while trying to engage another human in small talk, yet here he sits shuffling about on the cave floor, eyes locked with a dragon and his heart beating heavy against his chest. He swallows hard and stammers in response to the behemoth before them. "I-I-I... I'm uh, um, uh..." Unable to find his words he continued pressing back until the wound on his leg had opened from stress causing him to cry out in pain and thrusts his bare hand to cover the wound to catch the blood that poured forth. He had snagged some bandages from the clinic but didn't really see this as the time to apply them. Instead he continued to try and speak with the dragon, hoping to have his life spared he figured pissing it off wouldn't be that great of an idea. "I... Erm, MALE! I'm a male!" His breaths were rapid and stressed. His torso ached not only where Javier's blade had pierced it just hours ago but also from his panicked state which caused his head to go light and the potential scenario of him passing out. His teeth chattered together as blood began to seep through his fingers and onto the ground below. "I-I-I'm T-Ty-..." He swallows again attempting to gain his bearings. "Tyler. Of-Of Kelay. H-Human. J-Just a human." He refused to acknowledge Skylei to the dragon as he feared giving the attention of the dragon to the half blooded elf behind him. Despite his miserable disease of panic, he wouldn't place Skylei in anymore danger than he already had.

Nixarus growled low in her throat, the sound bouncing off the cave walls. Lovely, the human smelled of panic and blood and the elf that smelled of humans was going deaf. Lovely. Welll what was it mother had always been saying? try and be kind to the children in the world? they did not know bettter or something? Well if she didn't do something the male thing was going to faint or die from blood loss and the elfhuman was going to bleed out its ears. Breathing hotly against the pair of them she turned her head, lifting her tail from where it had been hiding the pool of water she'd uncovered, jerking her head she called to it raising a front claw to direct a thin stream of water to his wound, washing over it to clean it of debri. Letting it fall back to the earth around him she leaned down and licked the wound through the bandages. Dragon saliva, aside from scales and blood held magical properties for healing as well.

Skylei has no idea what's going on anymore. She's just staying very still and is curled up in a little ball. Given that Tyler had neglected to mention her in his speech, if one could even call it a speech, Sky had made a conscious decision that she was just going to stay where she was. That was clearly what the human had intended her to do and so she was not going to go against his wishes. So she remains very still, very quiet and hopefully undetectable. She has no way of knowing that Nixarus knows that she is here and can even tell how she is feeling. So she carries on in her charade of non-existence, internally cursing Javier. Because, obviously, this was all his fault.

Tyler closes his eyes tightly as Nixarus approaches him with her maw open as he expects a bite to be taken from his leg. Though he would slowly reopen them at the feeling of her wet tongue lapping at the wound, his face twisting into a disgusted look as he fought back the urge to puke. After a few moments he would start to pull his leg away from the dragon and mutter "That's enough, that's enough... T-thanks." His caramel gaze falls to lock with the dragon's as he becomes curious as to why the two were still alive. His voice is shaken as he forces it out once more; "W-we didn't mean to i-invade your space, we-we..." He closes his eyes once more and takes a deep breath trying to slow his heart rate. "We can leave and be on our way, y'know? We don't mean any harm..." His last bit is said with little enthusiasm as if the two could hurt the dragon if they tried. His breathing had slowed a bit as he waited for the dragon to decide the fate of the human and his love.

Nixarus regarded him and than the ball of elfhuman and back again "you are a pathetic meat sack aren't you." she rumbled and nodded to the cae entrance "ungreatful weak things, out with you than." she scoffed and lashed her tail, the thick appendage hitting the floor of the cave with a smack. This was what she got for attempting a bit of mercy on her part, well live and learn, next sorry sort she saw, she was eating them. Blood be damned.

Skylei emerges from her ball as Tyler speaks to the dragon again. One word that he used particularly caught his attention - We. So much for the charade that it was only Tyler in the cave with Nixarus. Skylei would wince and consider attempting to reason with the dragon herself; after all, she was likely much more eloquent and much less panicked than the male was. However, as the dragon ushers them to leave the cave, Sky lets out a sigh of relief. The half-elf would reach out with her hand to try and work out where Tyler was. Darkness had fallen and she cannot quite see where the human is. As her hand paws against the ground in search of his flesh, the girl would address the dragon for the first time with saccharine words. "We will be getting going then. Won't we, Tyler? Thank you for your kindness and understanding. You are the embodiment of all the grace and goodness that your race is said to possess." With the dragon addressed, Skylei would hiss under her breath to the male now, "Come on, get up. We need to move."

Tyler kept his eyes focused on Nixarus as Skylei reached out to him. For some reason he felt a bit of guilt in the way he reacted to the dragon but in reality was there any other way? In silent agreement with Skylei he would force himself up and begin limping from the cave with the aid of the wood elf. As the duo made it back outside under the stars of the night a sigh is given as he looks over to his companion and offers a depressed voice; "What now?" The two had planned to stay in the cave until he was well enough to travel back to Kelay and the man had no clue of where else they could seek refuge within Chartsend.

Nixarus me muttered in her native tongue about the injustice of the short lived races, should be more greatful to their elders, damn infants. She curled back up into herself, to attempt to return to sleep. It was still to late to go about hunting for anything.

Skylei would sigh aloud as the two made their way back out under the stars. She hadn't much fancied spending the night in a cave anyway and a cave occupied with a dragon was even less preferable. As he asks her if she can think of any other place they could go, the half-elf would reach with her free hand underneath her leathers to pull out a key tied to a piece of string. "There's always this. I told you I lived here, right? I mean, it's not much. But it's inside and warm. And Joss is away right now, up in Frostmaw doing some… stuff. So you wouldn't have to see anyone. Well, except me." Sky doesn't know why she hadn't mentioned this sooner. Eyes would look up to his as she added a final unpleasant suggestion. "It's either that or we sleep outside on the path…"

Tyler eyes the key for a moment before shifting his gaze to Skylei and then to his leg. A sigh is given and his breath rises up beneath the chill of the night. He felt as though he had no option and nods in agreement. "Fine." His eyes meet with hers again as he makes his only demand. "No bards, though." The familiar mana specks would rises from the ground and engulf the duo in a similar disguise of battle armor that he used in Kelay before he grabbed to the womans side for her to lead the way. It had been a hell of a day and the sooner the man healed up and returned home, the better.
