RP:Cross-Training for A Budding Necromancer

From HollowWiki

This is a Healer's Guild RP.

Synopsis: Joan meets with Emilia and joins with the Healers Guild to supplement her necromancy with healing craft.

Small Garden, Cenril

Beyond the garden an archway opened to an expanse of land beyond the little oasis of green and beauty where the sounds of hammers and commotion could be heard ruining the peaceful tranquility normally found here. From this other side of this opened gate came scuttling a black spider looking creature heading for the little pool. Jumping in the creature rinsed itself off prior to leaping up to lay on the next to it to dry off. If one looked closely enough it could be seen that it was no spider, but an animated severed right hand. Shortly after the arrival of Righty the owner of the hand walked through the same space, however she was as white as the freshly fallen snow in Frostmaw underneath the layers of dust and dirt on her. The woman stood less than five feet with little weight on her bones leaving her looking like a small child rather than an adult. Her hair was twisted into length dreadlocks in a mohawk fashion, both sides of her head otherwise shaved free of the white locks. “Righty, where did ya’ run off to this time?” The wintery woman hollered from just inside the garden with two pale hands on her hips as she tapped a bare foot on the ground. Bright blue eyes scanned the garden looking for the missing body part. Three hands, she had three hands.

Joan ::Holding the small note Rhaevyn had written on then presented to the vampire merchant yesterday evening Joan glances up at the signs marking the passages and then back at the note while traveling the route through Cenril, having passed the card shark and the fair she was certain she had followed the written directions to the letter that the Dryad Liaison noted. The small garden area laid just ahead...this Joan knew for certain by three of her five senses. Looking forward, she walked a few more paces till she came upon the entrance to the garden letting out a sigh of relief as the wonderful view greets her. “About time!” She mutters to herself, pocketing the written directions into her vested pocket before pulling out the introduction the dryad had written up for her to present to the head healer. It had the seal of Rhaevyn Ashlyren herself, Carnomancer of the Necromancer’s Guild and Skilled Surgeon in the Healers Guild. The Liaison. While walking into the garden Joan would spot the smaller woman, the fountain and what seemed like a severed hand she might be addressing, not bothered by the scene she’d make her way towards the hand and woman calling out a polite greeting. “Hello! Sorry to interrupt and intrude, I am looking for a senior healer member, could you help me?” She inquired in a pleasant enough tone.

Emilia turned to look at the woman who was approaching from the other side of the garden. The healer allowed her to approach and speak before she dusted off her hands from the work she had been doing on the other side of the yard and offered her left hand over for a shake. It could be noted this left hand was the only real-still attached hand of the Genasi, the attached right hand was a simple formed hand of ice with a black speck where the detached hand once belonged. If Joan took the gesture she would find the small hand cold to the touch, much like grasping a chunk of ice, and would leave a faint trace of bits of frost. Introducing herself, “I am Emilia, leader of the Healer’s Guild,” there was a smile that flashed on her deep blue lips, “Suppose that would make me a senior healer member around here. What is it that I can do for you, Miss…?”

Joan took the offered hand, being undead herself the cold touch didn’t much bother her, tho the slight frost was a tad surprising. All this she took in stride while giving the hand a nice firm hand shake before letting go, her hand flexing then given a shake to get the tingling out as well as the frost a polite smile is flashed down at the smaller stature woman. “Joan, Joan Blackheart. I’m a Novus Morior with the Nercomancer’s Guild, I have moved on to my potions and poisons portion of study as well as basic resurrection. I have come to the Healers Guild for more learning, I’d like to be able to better understand a body, how to heal and stitch, make a body look presentable more life like, minimum the smell of decay, use potions to persevere the body and such. I have a letter of introduction from the dryad Rhaevyn Ashlyren herself, assuring you I am who I say I am, that I have been accepted into the guild as Novus Morior, and that I understand the basics.” Here the vampire merchant presents the letter with the dryad’s wax seal towards the smaller woman.

Emilia showed no sign of offense after the handshake for she was used to it and more so used to people avoiding touching her all together. She listened to hear what this stranger had to say with her request as unusual as it was to the healer. Taking the letter with the seal of her Liaison to the Necromancer’s Guild from the other only after she offered it. In silence Em stared at it before with a swift motion broke the seal so that she could read over the words written inside to confirm who this stranger was, her connection to this other guild, and her connection to Rhaevyn Ashlyren. Silence lingered for a time before the healer finally spoke, “Well, Miss Joan Blackheart, tis a pleasure to meet you. I can tell you that our experience with necromancy here on this side is little beyond that annoyance of a bratty hand” she guested toward the lounging black hand by the pool with her thumb, “but, we are skilled with potions, mending flesh wounds, masking smells, reversing poisons and as such making them so we can learn how to counter them. I have never been asked to teach a necromancer before in the arts of healing, but I suppose it would be logical to be trained in potions and poisons too. The skills we can teach you here are more for the living than the dead, so you will have to work with the other side to mind the link between the two in order to maintain an undead body in the manner which you seek to understand. We are close to having this Academy up and ready to be used where we will have classes on all these subjects you wish to learn. If you wish to dual study between guilds, I can offer you a space Neophyte within our ranks. Should you in the future choose to master more in the healing arts we can discuss moving through our ranks as you grow. What say you? Would you simply like some potion lessons or would you like to delve further into the art as a Neophyte?”

Joan thinks about Artia and how her friend had mention the Healers Guild before Joan joined the Necromancers guild. Artia seemed rather skilled with her scalps and Joan was keen on learning all she could about how a body functioned besides being a walking corpse. “Dual study sounds appropriate, I’d like to branch out, when I begin questing, I might need to heal besides raise the dead. *she nods to herself deciding.* Neophyte would suit me, Artia would approve.” Here Snickers would peel out from Joan’s other vested pocket, the small furless zombie mouse would wiggle it’s whiskers as it’s pale skin body squirmed up out of the pocket more to blink it’s gleaming red orbs up at Emilia. It had yet to have a working heartbeat, but it at least was fully fleshed out, something Joan had done by herself in a self study session.

Emilia gave a whistle shortly after Joan had chosen her fate, one that was high pitched to the point normal hearing didn't generally pick up on it. "I find that you will enjoy yourself as well as your studies if it is you that approves, not someone else. However, I know Miss Artia and she would be one to study under for what it is you are looking forward to learning," Em stated as a rather large dog came trotting out to join the group in the garden. This dog could be argued to be bigger than the little woman it stood next to with its head at her shoulder height when it sat down. Hugo had over his head the satchel of the healer. "Good boy, Hugo," Em said with a friendly tone before ruffling through her bag to pull out an item and hand it over to Joan. "Nice, critter," Em commented on the appearance of bald mouseish animal. "This will mark you as a member within our ranks. I do have some things to finish up with the building before the end of the night. Is there anything else I can help you with tonight? If not, I should get back to work and will send you a letter to meet again shortly to go over a lesson plan for you. Will take me a bit to figure one out that fits your needs, but it can be done and will be figured out."

Emilia gave 1 Phoenix-Fire Insignia to Joan.

Joan thanks the smaller woman as she takes the offered badge. “Oh, I just admire Artia and she skills.” Slight sheepish laugh here, a blush also, Joan had recently fed so she had a hint of color in those cheeks. “Yeah, thank you, this will be a great big help to me in the long run, and I hope I can be of help to you and the Healers Guild in the near future. A betterment for all and a fostering of good will.” She admires the huge doggo and nods. “Alrighty.”

Emilia smiled, “I hope that we can all benefit each other in both the present and in the future as well. We all have something to learn from one another. Pleasure to meet you, Joan and welcome to the Healer’s Guild. I shall see you again soon. Have a good evening and if you need you can charge a room at the Inn under my name for the night.” There was a smile, a bow, and a wave before the Healer turned to depart back to work on the Academy being built. Hugo and Righty would be along behind the Genasi shortly after.
