RP:Cenril, Vailkrin, and Frostmaw

Vailkrin City Path

Satoshi , despite the variety of stresses of Frostmaw's growing troubles, is trying to enjoy her evening with Kasyr. The fact that the kensai has convinced her to wander away from Frostmaw at all is a testament to Satoshi's determination. At present, the magus is seated at a small table in one of the nocturnal cafes, a large, metal-bound tome opened before her, with an innocent glass of juice beside it. To the common passer-by, Satoshi seems at ease, but the backwards tilt of her vulpine ears, the ceaseless swaying of her tail, and the rigid quality of her whiskers suggests otherwise to the keen eyed or familiar.

Kasyr , for his part, is seated directly across from the Magus, garbed in his trademark trenchcoat (Albeit with a pair of large holes in the back), and with a sheathed Katana resting upon the table. Not that he's engaging in any antics, since he seems rather busy daintily sipping at a cup of reddish 'tea'. At least, until he settles the cup down on the table, removes something that looks suspiciously like a hip flask from his coat, and proceeds to up-end a portion of dark red liquid into the glass. With something akin to an appraising look offered to the glass, the Revenant simply shakes his head and returns the flask to his coat, before he resumes sipping at it.

The wolf from before was the first to appear, chasing after a stick that had been tossed forward, catching it expertly in his mouth, before running back to the woman who trailed behind, a jolly grin on her face. Like Satoshi, she seemed at ease, but her eyes were carefully darting about every now and then, making sure that no one would try to come suck her blood or anything. She'd be having none of that today. She squatted for a moment, and retrieved the stick from the wolf, resting it on the ground, and ruffled his ears playfully. He pawed at her. "Tha's right, Meadefang, ye lazy bum. Show off in public like the ruffian ye are. Do me a favor. Sniff 'em out for me." She stood and placed her hands on her hips, watching as he darted right for Kasyr and Satoshi, sitting down near them, his tail wagging. The redhead nodded, and approached, letting out a chuckle as she noted that the beast acted more like an actual dog than a pack animal.

Satoshi looks up from her book at the sound of padded paws approaching, to find the wolf seated on the pavement. A lopsided smile is directed at the lupine as the foxkin leans over slightly to speak to him, "Oh, you again? No letter this time? Did you eat it?" Red flashes from behind the wolf, drawing Satoshi's eye to his fiery-haired companion. Straightening then, the magus's amber-flecked eyes regard the woman with simple curiosity before she offers a nod of greeting. "You're the one with the initials, I assume~?" Fangs appear with Satoshi's uneven grin, the expression as lilted as her voice.

Kasyr 's head dips down to eye the wolf currently sitting near their table, the revenant lazily moving a hand out for it to sniff at, before he moves to casually pat it. Albeit, not so casually that he can't jerk his hand back if it decides to try and turn his fingers into a chewtoy. That said, where Satoshi turns to peer at Alice, the Kensai simply continues to sip at his tea and peer at his wife- clearly quite comfortable with his current situation.

Alice grinned as ther companion made to licking and nuzzling at their hands, back and forth, as if he can't choose who he wants attention from. "That'd be me. An' I'll thank ye now fer takin' the time to chat." She gave a respectful bow of the head, but it was short, and not overstated. She seemed to be the kind to respect authority (for the most part), but to not kiss ass while she was at it.

Satoshi , if she could read thoughts, would have adored Alice right then and there. As she's not a mind-reader however, the magus instead just looks a cross between pleased and amused. A glance at Kasyr, studiously sipping his tea, leads to Satoshi asking quietly, "Grab that spare chair over there for her, please~?"

Kasyr glances back over to Satoshi, before he sets his teacup down and reaches over towards his sword. "On it, Cherie." From there, the Kensai proceeds to lean out from his chair in an altogether undignified manner, if only to extend the sheathed weapon over one of legs of an Adjacent chair and noisily drag it across the ground and over to the table. A second or two is spared to poke the chair into a semblance of 'adroitness', before the revenant settles his weapon back on the table, so that he can resume drinking tea and patting the wolf.

Alice snickered to herself at the casual laziness displayed by the male. She plopped herself down on it, and removed her pack from over her shoulder, letting it settle on the ground. Fang continued to nose at the attention-givers, seemingly pleased as punch. "Thank ye. Now, I'd love te be askin' how everythin' is, but I already know things is rough up in Frostmaw, an' with ye bein' her husban' an' all, I'm guessin' it ain't been easy fer ye either. So I'll skip past all o' the pleasantries an the like. The thing is, I'm here lookin' fer support o' a kind. I'm not askin' it be immediate, ye clearly already have yer hands full with Frostmaw. This ain't gonna be a tomorrow business, no. Got much to do before I up'n stand all high an' mighty about myself." She crossed one leg over the other, and flicked a dead leaf off of her boot. "I'm lookin' fer supporters in a movement to attempt to whip Cenril back inter shape. Place's gone leaderless a long time, and while some may argue it's been jes fine without it, I'd be likely ter disagree, what with all them gangs, an' piracy, an' killin'." She went quiet for a bit, looking at the other two, gauging their reactions to what she had to say so far very quietly.

Satoshi has no outward reaction to give save for a slight sideways tilt of her head. Either the foxkin is not startled by the statement or she's good at keeping her expressions in check, necessary traits when you play at politics. Satoshi lifts the glass of pink-tinted juice, giving it a sip and setting it back down again before she fixes Alice in her sights. "And what are you proposing? You would not be the first with intentions on Cenril, nor the first to come to either of us for support in a vie for power. What are your designs for the city? And more importantly, how do we benefit should we support you?" No one can ever say Satoshi beats around the bush when it comes to business, often to Kasyr's displeasure. Personally, the kit would rather see Cenril razed to the ground than continue to exist as the cesspool it is, but this stranger seems to have plans at least.

Kasyr tilts his head just enough so that he can peer over towards the newcomer," I have little to add to Satoshi's statement, beyond one simple question. Why Cenril?" The revenants view of the port city is likely as negative as Satoshi's, a stance that has been cemented by a (Relatively justified) bout of antagonism with the cenril church. Though often benign, coming in the subtle, and oddly bearable form of frigid diplomacy as well as grating displays of religious rhetoric combined with mud-slinging- there's been more overt incidences as well. The church has pushed for more than one crusade against the city of the dead.

Alice gave a dismissive wave of her hand. "I don't care fer power. Don't care fer money, either. I care fer fixin' mistakes that've been made." She had a certain look in her eye, a passion, that blazed that she was telling the truth. "I'm quite aware I'd not be the first on either counts." She crossed her arms. "But frankly, with my background, I'd be the best fer the job. Fer now." She she rolled her shoulders, issuing a loud series of pops. She was still sore from earlier training. "Were I to have yer support in my plans, ye'd be given Cenril's defenses to aide in any future wars. Ye'd be entitled to any trade route leadin' from Cenril to Frostmaw. Ye'd be given monetary thanks, once the funds are there ter be givin', ye'd be given me eternal gratitude," Then came the sly, playful smirk Al had become known for. "And o' course the joy o' knowin' ye did a good'n." She had a feeling that last one would be taken just as lightly as she had meant it. "Me plan ain't entirely selfless. The problem is, Cenril reminds me a lot o' home." She crossed her arms, and the tone of her voice changed, to a more thoughtful one. "Me home, that, long ago, I weren't strong enough to defend. That, and the problems facin' it are ones I'm well versed in. I won't lie te ye an' say that me time at sea were spent all on the good side o' the law. But that only gives me a heads up on how to deal with the pirate'n type, which ain't to far from a gang. Land pirates, I calls 'em." She leaned back again, rubbing her forehead. "It won't be easy work, by any means. But I have me a pair of able hands. I been forgin' and fightin'. I earned my way up to bein' Ambassador to Venturil. I fought in wars. I seen my fare share. An' I'm tellin' ye. As bad as that infested place seems, I think it has hope still. I believe, that given a firm hand o' justice, especially with the new guard in place, there is a high chance we can eradicate them murders, put stricter control on piracy, an' possibly eliminate it from Cenril's waters, an' furthermore, crack down' on them gangs. A criminal's a criminal, until they ain't a criminal no more. An' I kin tell ye, a criminal becomes a criminal for three reasons. Desperation, fear, an' stupidity." She crossed her arms again. "An' let me tell you, o' all the people I ever ran into, these ones are all jes stupid." She turned her eyes to Kasyr. "And I say Cenril because I think that there's a chance that the damnable place, s*** though it may be now, still has people in it. People who still believe in somethin' better'n what they are. An' it ain't fair ter them te let that city fall 'round 'em without at least someone -tryin- te fix it. An' since no one else seems ter be tryin', fool I may be, I'm damn well tryin'."

Satoshi listens attentively, hands folded atop the open pages of her book. The redhead at least is passionate about Cenril, that much is clear, and it's enough to draw the ghost of a smile onto the kit's face. When the declaration is done, Satoshi leans back into her chair, eyes on Alice save for a brief glance toward Kasyr. "Your promises would need to extend to Vailkrin as well, considering you're speaking to the King of Vampires. Still, they're promises that at present are only words. I'll tell you the same thing I told Hadrian, when he came to Frostmaw for my support in claiming Gualon: I, at least, cannot spare resources for words. I need to see proof of your intent, results of your actions, and a building of your name. If the people grow to love and support you, then you are worthy of support from others as well." Satoshi pauses then to take another drink, continuing after, "You haven't even told us your name. How can a leader swear their region to a cause, if they do not even know the name of the proposer~?" It isn't a no, at least. Satoshi's just wary after nearly being bitten for trusting Hadrian, who proved loyal to the Time Lord.

Kasyr glances over towards Satoshi and just grins. Her response was blunt, certainly- but altogether honest and to the point. The revenant for his part, simply shrugs, "And you will not just have to contend with the gangs. The church is a power of it's own, and one that has sought in past to plunge Cenril into a war with Vailkrin. I would be loathe to provide you support were you to sit idly as this occured, or go so far as to aid their machinations." At about that point, the Kensai simply shrugs, "That said, should you do as Satoshi suggested and make good of your claims, I would certainly be more partial to aiding you in your endeavours."

Alice nodded, a completely serious expression on her face. "I'm already in the process of joinin' in the Cenrilian Guard. An' they sure seem to like me enough." She grinned. "An' o' course I didn't tell ye my name yet. I wanted ter get yer attention first, before ye learnt yerself a name I guarantee you'll never ferget. Alice Brommson. Daughter o' Kaegan Brommson. I prefer goin' by Al, though, if'n ye'd please. As fer me promises." She looked at them both. "Do ye think I gained my title O' Ambassador by bein untrustworthy?" She nodded slowly. "I know the risk I offer. I kin see it clear as day, I ain't got rocks in' me head. And I'm willin' ter do whatever it takes te earn yer trust, be it fight fer ye, be it build fer ye, be it smith fer ye, be it do as ye've already said, and gain love'n support. As fer Vailkrin; of course it'd get the same respects. Ye'd have ter both be patient with me. With the people o' Cenril. It'll take time. As fer the church." She had a new blaze in her eyes. "I ain't fond o' the gods what since one bleedin' shot purple lightning outta the sky at me an' my ship. Sank me whole crew, me ship... an' me brothers. I fought 'gainst that Vuryal bleeder, an' I'll fight again'st any ol' church followin' any ol' god that causes people trouble." She let out a snort. "If'n ye ask me, gods shouldn't be wastin' their time causin trouble, makin' wars. They oughtta be helpin'. An' if ye ask me, they damn well turned a blind eye ter Cenril. That church'll give ye no more trouble, if I manage ter get myself in charge." She spoke almost bitterly, but then she took a deep breath, remembering not to let herself get too... overly feisty. Her personality certainly was as fiery as her hair. "I'd keep an eye on that church, I'd do as I said with the trade routes, an' once Cenril's financially stable, ye'd both be gifted. Our defences'd be allied with yours, an' ye'd probably be both hailed as heros fer even recognizin' those poor people."

Satoshi finds herself leaning forward as Alice talks, like a moth drawn to flame by the fierce speech. There's something blatantly honest about the smith, in ways spoken through more than just words, a hint Satoshi sees as plain as day. When Alice's words come to an end, she'll find the magus watching attentively with a look of intrigue on her whiskered face. "Well. You have your work cut out for you, Sparkfire, that's for certain. Cenril is a mess that I would not envy anyone trying to clean up. Still, you will get no opposition from Frostmaw in your endeavours, so long as you stay true to what you intend. And if you do so, you'll find my support in what means I can spare over such long distances. It'll be an uphill battle, but once you've made some headway, perhaps the aid of giants will come in handy~."

Kasyr can't help but smirk as Alice's speech gains momentum, the now empty teacup he'd been nursing set aside so that he can simply steeple his hands together. It's only once she's done, that the Revenant speaks, "It certainly sounds appealing, so I suppose I'll say this much. Whilst I will not provide any official support until such a time as you make headway, it should be noted that the various houses in Vailkrin have a certain degree of...independance. For instance, House Asharam could likely be enticed to aid in your endeavours, Albeit for a price. I would suggest House Nasar, as well, but their involvement would likely complicate matters with the gangs in Cenril. Feel free to pursue that idea at your own discretion." The kensai pauses at this point, to spin the teacup in it's place. It's only when it comes to a wobbling stop that he speaks again. "And you could potentially find funding from house Ventra, though such a boon would likely be considered an investment. And house Alnwick could likely be contacted, if you desired a representative to aid you in these various dealings." No doubt they'd have in interest in whatever developments may or may not occur. That aside, however, the Kensai simply glances over towards Satoshi, "Am I forgetting anything?"

Alice, though she wasn't hearing a yes, also wasn't hearing a no. And that's all she needed to know. Her lips turned up into a bright grin, and she nodded. "Good te know yer not against me, then." She had a sparkle in her eyes. That passion seemed to never waver, and there was a high likelyhood that it never would. She'd keep fighting tooth and nail, even, if eventually, it killed her. "I'll be keepin' them house names in mind. Could come in handy, now that I'm doin' the politics." She snickered softly, and turned her eyes to Satoshi, curious to hear if she had anything to add.

Satoshi has nothing to add, as is evident by her shaking head at Kasyr's look. She does, however, flash a grin of fangs at Alice's comment. "Precisely. We have no reason to be against your efforts, unless you give us reason. I'll wish you the best of luck in bringing life back to Cenril, Sparkfire. The city needs it."

Kasyr just folds his hands together and settles his chin across the bridge formed, "I'm glad I could aid in your endeavours, however slight though it may be. That said, es our business concluded, a ce moment?"

Alice nodded. "That it is. Thank ye fer yer time." She then stood, her back making the popping noises yet again, but she didn't wince. A small whistle gained Fang's attention, who leapt up and licked both Satoshi and Kasyr's hands, before returning to Alice's side. A grin was given, and she turned on her heel, looking down at the wolf. "So, whatcha think, Fang? How was that fer my first ever political thingy?" The wolf only yipped. He was hungry, and probably had no idea what she was saying.
