RP:Can He Shoot?

From HollowWiki

Summary: Meri. Magik. Archery range.

Abandoned Archery Range

Meri is just some chick in the forest standing in front of an target with a black bow held within the grip of one hand and a quiver full of arrows on her back. Does she need shooting lessons from some extremely tall elf? Naw, she's a pretty clean shot as Magik can see with his own two eyes. Kid's not around this time, sometimes Meri actually hires a babysitter.

Magik whistles to himself as he walks towards Meri from behind. He stops to judge her form and shot and hmms, "Hi, honey.." First, a kiss to her cheek once he gets closer. Next, a gentle shake of her quiver, "Ya know..Less motion involved if you have your quiver on your hip.."

Meri lifts a brow as Magik makes a suggestion as to where she ought to store her quiver. “Mmm, but sometimes I like to stab people with a sword too and usually I keep that on the hip.” It’s not resting there at the exact moment, this is not a sword practice session. Meri’s not writing off Magik’s suggestion though. “‘Still. I’ll give it a try sometime,” she says as she offers her own bow toward the elf. “But since you’re such the expert…” Show off a bit, Magik.

Magik nods understandingly, "It also helps to know your surroundings before choosing. If you are running through the woods, the back quiver won't get snagged on anything. If you are in a more open position, hip it if you can. You'll be able to hold more arrows and your firing rate will definitely improve." Magik takes Meri's bow and holds it out, "Ooh. This feels nice." He is also quick to pluck an arrow from Meri's back, "I am pretty good..I can't even lie." While he speaks highly of himself, he sloppily nocks an arrow. He wiggles his eyebrows as he attempts a no-look shot. Left arm raised, he stares into Meri's eyes. Before the string can be pulled all of the way back, Magik loses grip. The arrow flies maybe 6 feet infrot of the couple.

Meri chuckles, more at the entire situation than one specific thing. Magik’s advice has Meri nodding in agreement, yes, these were all very good points. Magik locks eyes with Meri and attempts this shot without even looking, losing grip in the process. Who was trolling who right now? The blonde pulls an arrow from the quiver on her back but she doesn’t try and reclaim the bow so that she can offer corrections. Instead she uses the arrow to whip Magik’s backside with the feathered end. “Oh I have a feeling that you’re pretty good,” Meri smirks. “Lying to me isn’t advisable. Didn’t you learn your lesson the first time?”

Magik smirks at Meri after the quick whipping. He then takes the arrow from her and nocks it properly, "I didn't lie.." However, he holds the nocked arrow with his right hand just infront of him. Magik opens his left palm down range and winces just a tad. A black arrow rips from inside of his palm and literally screams down range towards one of those grassy target dummies. The Lyastri kisses the air at Meri before finally pulling the bow up. The elf looks down range as he pulls the bow string back. With the string pressing on his nose and lips, he looks to Meri, "Did I ever tell you," Thwap. The arrow is released. "..you have beautiful eyes?" The first arrow of Magik's own manifestation 'might' be too powerful for Meri to interfere with. The second arrow is aimed to split against the first one should Meri not interfere. That poor head of the dummy..

Meri :: Well the probability of Meri interfering just went to zero when Magik decided to manifest one of his own arrows. And even then? The psion wasn’t actually thinking about showing off with those telekinetic abilities, her interference would have been a bit more playful rather than trying to ‘one up’ Magik, so to speak. You know, feather to the ear, a pinch here, that sort of thing. None of that happens, Meri behaves, observes, and once Magik is done taking both of those shots? Meri is moving away from him, down the field, and to the target that just lost his head. She needs to investigate. “I think you’re just saying that because you want to get laid,” Meri teases, because compliments...Let’s just deal with them with sass. Meri’s a bit more interested in retrieving the arrow Magik manifested, “So. First question of the day, I suppose. What did you just…?”

Magik smirks at Meri as he catches up and drapes an arm about her as they walk towards the target, "Well. Yes. Also. I meant that. Why do you think I'm always looking at you?" Ah, the question about the arrow. He gives her a playful hip check as they walk up to the headless dummy. Meri's arrow can be seen sticking through it but Magik's arrow is still hissing somewhere. Magik walks by the dummy and towards a tree a few yards behind the target. The arrowhead and half of the shaft is deeply embedded into the tree trunk. The tree can even be heard creaking against the pressure of the arrow. Magik flicks the end of the shaft. No feathers here. Just smoke. "Ever since a particular night when I was young.." Magik knows the arrow is going to be hot and won't budge from the trunk. Not now atleast, "..I've been able to manifest these arrows. I don't know how or why, but I can." He demonstrates exactly how stuck the arrow is. It won't budge. The hissing of the arrow gets a little bit louder causing the tree to start vibrating violently. The elf flashes a bleeding palm to Meri, "Hurts every time but it'll heal quickly."

Meri :: The smirking will continue as Meri can’t resist the temptation to retort to Magik’s question with a cheeky, “Because I put out?” Meri gets a little more serious, sort of, “No. I know.” She does. They’re a thing. Magik is moving in the same direction as the hissing sound that the lycan can very clearly hear, resulting in her following him to the tree. Thankfully the blonde has the good sense to not grab the hot arrow. It does cross her mind for a moment and she reaches out like she might actually but the lycan can feel the heat radiating toward her palm before she even gets a firm grasp. Yeah, no. She does end up putting a hand on the trunk of the tree to try and guess how hot it -might- be….until the tree starts vibrating violently. Meri steps back and looks to Magik, his bleeding palm, and then the tree. If she looks like she’s half-expecting something else to happen? Kind of. “Ever since a particular night…” Meri was trying to not sound too distracted, but can she be blamed at this exact moment? “Sounds like the start of a good story if I have ever heard one. Or, a bad story. A story either way….” Meri would be a little bit more concerned about Magik’s bleeding palm if she wasn’t half convinced that the tree was about to explode.

Magik leans back on the tree, using it to scratch his back for a second. He wasn't concerned about the tree blowing up. Not this one, at least. After a good back scratch, he stands erect and offers his arm to Meri, "It's definitely a story alright. One I need a few drinks for. Perhaps after dinner? I'll cook." Either way, Magik is heading up to the treehouse for dinner. A Meri on his arm would definitely make his night perfect. Magik looks over his shoulder when they are about half way back up range, "I'll come get that later.."

Meri gives Magik a squinty-eyed look as he turns and uses the tree as a back scratch, like the vibration of the tree was just not concerning at all. The blonde shakes her head at the Lyastri, what a confusing THING. In a good way. Meri takes his arm and back off to the treehouse where they go for dinner. That he’s maybe making, except Meri starts pointing out that his hand is bloodied. One way or another, between the two of them, there will be dinner, drinking, hanging out, and shmoozing. All the makings of a decent night.
