RP:Blue Skies at Night

Part of the The Ice Plague Cometh Arc

Hawk's Eye Roost

Mythayus stood in his human form, staring up at the sky. His black armor reflected the light of the night, almost mimicking them. His black mid back hair tied in a tight que. He seemed lost in thought.

Satoshi is present between one moment and the next, seemingly materializing from thin air. All that's certain is the human formed man was alone until a snow laden gust passed over the tower's top, leaving in its wake the petite magus, silent and pale as the Ghost she'd been nicknamed. Amber-flecked azure eyes give a blink as Satoshi tips her vulpine-earred head to one side, expression showing a vague curiosity. "Star-gazing, stranger~?" she calls out in a voice that's part song and part whisper, strangely lilting with ease through the chilled air to reach his ears despite the distance.

Mythayus turns to face the voice. His royal blue eyes fell upon the pale maiden. "You could say that. The sky comforts me. It is something that familiar yet, different. Everytime you look at it it is different. My name is Mythayus." He gives a deep bow. His bangs fall in to his face. "And yours fair maiden.?" He offered a smile that could warm the coldest of hearts.

Satoshi returns the bow with a polite nod of her head. When her face is lifted again, a lopsided grin is present, revealing hints of fangs beneath. "Ah~. You're Misaki's partner, then. A pleasure to meet you, Star-gazer. I'm Satoshi Azakhaer, Lady of Frostmaw and deputy Commander of the Eyrie. How do you find our little group so far?"

Mythayus nods to the Misaki comment assuring her thoughts. " Well, I've met several members, however most of which only briefly. But i do find it interesting." He smiles, "Misaki, has told me, that you wanted to meet me. I'm sorry i haven't been able to meet me you." He gives a laugh. "What are your views of the sky, Lady Azakhaer?"

Satoshi waves a hand as if dismissing the apology. "It is not a problem. I have been occupied with matters of Frostmaw, myself, so I've had little time for the pleasures of meeting new recruits. Nonetheless, I welcome you to the Eyrie. As for the sky?" Satoshi looks upward then, to the clear, star-strewn skies. Here, at the peak of the tower, Frostmaw's eternal cloud cover is below them, allowing gazers an unobstructed view of the heavens. "My magic forged this tower, it was I who chose it to reach so high. Does that not tell you what I think of the skies? For one such as moi, the clouds have voices, and I wish to hear their songs whenever I am able, even if I am not blessed with wings of my own."

Mythayus smiles, "I've heard that there is a war getting to start or is happening,.." He paused, and snapped his several time as if trying to recall something. " I only spoke with her briefly, I believe her name was Hilde...something. I sorry. I only met her once and it was brief. She told me. I should talk to you as well." He looked down at his feet. " Have you been informed that we got Satoru back?"

Satoshi automatically finishes Mythayus' comment, "Hildegarde, of my queensguard." With this, she falls quiet to let him finish speaking. Vulpine ears swivel forward at the revelation he drops. "Did you? I'm glad, then. I had heard she was trying to rescue him. Although the one who contacted me for aid was a suspicious fellow who didn't seem willing to heed a word of my advice. Nor was he willing to speak about the matter in person, so naturally I could not provide help. Nonetheless, I'm happy to hear Satoru is returned."

Mythayus nods, "Hildegarde....Thats right." He looked to her and offered a sad smile, "Chakor was left behind. He made the sacrifice so that Misaki, satoru and the children could get out." He let out a sigh.

Satoshi's eyes widen in genuine surprise. This was news indeed to her, for she had not received even a report on the matter. "He's fallen? ...A pity, for while he had commited a grave crime among the Eyrie, he seemed determined to make amends and right his wrongs, not to save his own hide but for the sake of repairing damage he caused. A rare, commendable thing. I suppose this means he's accomplished that, sacrificing himself to save the one he hurt." Eyes turn skyward once more, searching for a constellation, or perhaps an answer, above. As Satoshi gazes, she murmurs to herself, although the words carry with clarity, "The war has not begun, and already so many of mine have fallen. There will be hell to pay."

Mythayus nods. " I was unaware that lives had been lost already. Hildegarde, Said that my talents maybe of use to you." He didnt want to talk about the 'Chakor issue.' He was still awaiting his punishment for it. "I was informed that Rations are low. Specifically water. As A gift of my bloodline i can create water with out thought. I'm also skilled with a sword." He awaited her answer.

Satoshi said to Mythayus, "Oui, a number of my people have died at the hands of exiles and Ice Devils, or from the plague they infested our waters with. The source has been purified, at least, and so water is no longer rationed and no new people fall ill. We search still for a cure, however. Hildegarde misinformed you, our rations are in plentiful supply, and we were not in danger of running out of water even with the loss of the lake. Whatever the case, mind you, Frostmaw never turns down the offer of another sword, so naturally we welcome what you have to bring. Like the city, Eyrie is preparing itself for war. Because I cannot foresee these matters culminating in any other way but war. We would be glad to have you."

Mythayus closed his eyes and nodded. "I'm Always willing to lend my hand. Though at this moment i can not promise it to you. My fate is not my own at the moment." He smiled and turned his gaze to the sky.

Satoshi nods without taking her eyes off the sky. "I understood. Just know you are always welcome. For now, however, I shall bid you farewell, Star-gazer. The clouds sing of things to come, and I must see to them. It was a pleasure to meet you." The dragon is offered a salute and a twitch of whiskers from the magus before she vanishes from sight, with no more than a glistening flurry of snowflakes left in her wake.
