RP:Bloody Hott Mess

From HollowWiki

Summary: Irenic runs into short stack (Emilia) - literally - again. Bloody nose happens.

Knee High Stone Wall

Piled one atop the other, rounded stones slither onward in a straight line, barely knee-high at this point. North, past the unworthy blockade, a cloud of sooty black smoke rises into the air, sure signs of civilization. Grass stalks grow as tall as the wall here, surrounded by its even taller kin, thick-trunked and leafy green atop. These trees stay to the sides of a thin path, well kept, considering its rural habitation.

Irenic was walking for once this day, just running some errands for his master sort of looking giddy, I mean, as much as he could look being him. His mismatched eyes were focused through seeing eye glasses in order to read the large leather bound book before him. He has been looking a lot less ragged in doing things of his own will now-a-days and instead of donning the black robes and keeping himself secret, he wears a thin black sweater, black slacks and some soft leather boots to match. He wasn't really watching too much where he was going and the graying locks of hair bothering his brow didn't help either.

Emilia was paying about as much attention to where she was going as Irenic was of his own. The small woman dresses in a pair of cut off shorts and ripped up tank top moved with a limp. The left ankle of hers still bleeding where she had attempted to remove the thin gold anklet from her. No luck, the metal still present keeping her powers and magic locked away. The only thing she managed was gashing open her flesh with the rock a few many times. As such it would lead to a direct crash of little warm Genasi into book reading winged man.

Irenic was already looking down so he saw the top of a head and stopped so the collision wasn't too bad by the short one's only force, which wasn't much. She would have just got a face full of sweater covered abs as his large book slammed shut with a loud thud echoing through the trees, "Well, I am so sorry to be in the way of you m'lady!" That low gruff tone thick with sarcasm now before it turns a tinge menacing, "Why don’t you watch where you are going?!" Those bicolored eyes glaring down at the woman, thinking it was more of a child while the chocolate brown left eye (something new) is picking up no traces of magic on her and unseeing, while the other silver eye searching for the culprit. He blinks once in frustration, "Short stack! I thought you were some punk kid! What are you doing?"

Emilia with an umft walked into the feather stick without knowing. A stumble back from the face first hit into a black shirt, a tiny bit of a black fuzz stuck to a white eyebrow. Blinking she listened to the oncoming of words before slowing it all down enough to understand his last sentence. Looking up it was that snow white freckle dusted face of the Genasi staring at him, "Oh, hello Feather Stick. I was out walking. What are you doing?"

Irenic idly tried to itch at the closing vampire bite wound on his neck, but thought otherwise as he just tucked the large book under his arm, "I am just running some errands for Lady Dragana." He said so casually as if it wasn't some sort of twisted slave and then he noticed something as he stepped back out of habit, she wasn't chilling everything. Those mismatched eyes look down at her ankle, the brown eye picking up traces of magic about it, "Where the hell have you been?!" Again those bicolored eyes narrow upon her and he sounds like an angry teacher or something, especially looking all bookly; glasses, nice outfit, book in hand. Okay maybe he'd be a cool teacher, but that’s beside the point.

Emilia with her bloody ankle continued to stare up at the other one with a quizzical look on her pale features, 'are you serious?' look plastered into the expression. Rubbing a hand over her other arm slowly the Genasi gave a small shrug, "I have been in the darkness below ground for a few months...I just recently surfaced again....It has been all over the tavern boards. I have read many of the postings, mostly from Sabrina and Xersom in regards to my return..." There was a short pause, "It was a more escape than release, so I never managed to get the gold off first." Yes, over a week had passed and the Genasi was still as warm as a human. It was an amazement to some she wasn't more bed ridden, but saving energy up from a few days rest gave her enough to go for a walk, the getting back would be the tiresome portion of her journey.

Irenic was expressionless for a long moment until the pieces fit together for he only knew her by short stack, he doesn't know who Sabrina or Xersom is, so he offered no help to them. If he had known it was her, he would have looked, "Oh! So, you were the one that got kidnapped… You're alive!" He put two and two together already about the anklet, "Well, why did you go off and get yourself kidnapped?" Again, seeming like a teacher giving her some sort of hard time instead of doting over her like some child he offers a smirk in his jest, "I'm kidding… Have you guys looked into finding a blacksmith to get that thing off?" He seemed unbothered by the blood and uncaring if she was limping as she seemed determined to go out and be on her own.

Emilia offered a small giggle of a laugh at his comment, “Yes, I went off and got myself kidnapped on purpose. Strange thing about trying to help people from dying and it gets you stolen by the drow. Luckily, being married to a creature feared by most of the world it gets you a private room and bed along with daily meals of a dank cold cell. I suppose I could have tried harder to not get stolen for the...some number of time. Don’t marry someone of high fear or power because then you will become the target to get their attention.” She smiled a flash of a smile before pointing toward his book, “Whatcha reading? And no, we haven’t, but it seems stuck there by something. Went to find a mage, but they seem missing and the library was a utter mess.”

Irenic smirked down at her and her story, "Well… Just divorce him!" He said it, of course with sarcasm, and a finger in the air like it was some sort of gods sent answer, "Maybe you should have a guard with you if your husband is all so powerful." He was quiet for a moment, "Nah, you would just annoy him, too." A soft nudge offered to his tease, "But, honestly… How in the world did you get kidnapped, couldn't you have just froze him? Or did they slap that cuff on you before you got the chance?" He motions about her, "You're supposed to be a little-strong-warrior-ice-person-short-stack…" His gaze looks at the book, "Just some necromancy stuff… I can't practice, but I like to read these things for good measure in case I come up against one someday." A shrug was given, "Must be some old habit." Then his eyes narrowed at the mention of books being in trouble, seems more concerned with them than her, honestly. "Someone… Messed up a library… Where?"

Emilia reached out to give him a ever playful shove with a hand, a weak push if even a push at all, she was almost drained of her stored energy from days of resting. “I suppose that could be an option and I bet they wouldn’t last long anyways if I had a guard following me around....” a paused a she turned to sneeze into her elbow. Not paying much attention to the aftermath that came with the sneeze, a bloody nose. Faint trailing of crimson leaking from both nostrils staining her pretty white face. However, she didn’t notice and went on talking, “I was building a bridge made of ice down by the ocean in Cenril for that Kracken man...Making something at such a large scale takes a good deal of focus and attention so that it doesn’t melt, ya know. Anyways, I was working and got struck by something, a magic hit from a distance, and the next thing I was waking up in the darkness...” Shaking her head, she’d rather not remember it. The motion caused droplets of blood to spatter. “And the library is in Xalious near to the Mage Tower. At least, that is the report that I got from Raphaline when we were talking the other day. I haven’t been there to investigate myself. Too far for my to travel,” she answered his serious book inquiry.

Irenic faked a groan from the shove, "Watch the goods!" He nodded along with her agreement and when she sneezed in her elbow he made a scowl, "Yo-" He motioned to his nose, but was cut off by her continuation so he just cleared his throat. He couldn’t stop staring at it with a scowl, I mean he lets his master feed from him time-to-time, but this was different; it came from her -nose-. "Those scoundrels… Cowards… But that just goes to show they were scared of you -" He takes a deep breath in order to say, "little-strong-warrior-ice-person-short-stack who has blood coming from her nose." A long slender finger points at it with an exaggerated exhale, "How about we get you back to home or whatever." He heard the name Raphaline sounding a tinge familiar, "Ah! The giggly red head, thought the name was Raphlane…" He squints as if trying to remember, he's always getting names wrong. He mentally shakes it and motions her back into Larket, "C'mon lets take you on back to that weird Asha place," again getting a name wrong, what is with this guy. "You will fight another day, you look a mess," he meant in the kindest way possible.

Emilia was fully unaware of her nose leaking blood until he had said it in his ever long description of the child sized stature as a ice-warrior-strong-short-stackness. Reaching a hand up she held a finger under her nose before pulling it away to look down at the blood on her snow-white flesh. Strange, she couldn’t tell she was bleeding, but she was most surely bleeding. Holding her finger beneath her nose she held it there to contain the blood from spilling more down her face, nodding somewhat to his suggestion. Sabrina would be pissed if she wasn’t home soon and Pilar might get worried if she was found missing. A strange smile from behind her hand, “I think that would be best. And it is Ara in Larket that is currently home...the healing home of Sabrina, she runs the place.” Turning the Genasi would stumble a few limped steps before again a ever slow pace back toward the city. Idle chit-chat, “You will have to tell me if that library is ruined fully if you go to investigate it...”

Irenic rolled his eyes, "Asha, Ara… I've heard it both ways." He leaps up quickly with the added force of his wings as she started to limp away, "Wait!" He snaps an odd shaped branch from the tree before landing once more beside her, granting that favorite scent of hers. He holds her shoulder still with one hand and sort of measures the branch beside her, "No." He takes It in his hands and breaks off a foot of it. Holds her still and measures again, "There." He handed her the odd shaped branch as an impromptu walking stick as he surely wasn't going to carry her, "Well, how about I just walk in that direction then, it's on my way." He lies as he motions to the path ahead.

Emilia came to a very stumbling stop as he called out for her to wait, she almost fell. If only he had met her before she’d turned Genasi and was one of the most clumsy humans around. Standing there she watched him with utmost confused eyes as he measure her and then the branch-stick and repeat. She was pretty short, adding the curls she reached the five foot mark. It was after he was finished that she took his gift of an makeshift walking stick and tested it out. It would work. As the two went to walking toward the city she would glance up at him ever-so often, “I don’t see how this is on your way. Where are you going? The River?”

Riverbank

Apart from the wood-lined stone road that leads to the north and back across the bridge, slightly muddy ground is the only terrain here at the river's edge. The Vibrance is a fast flowing river, and so no plants have a chance in it. Most other rivers are sluggish, algae-ridden, but this river is alive! It rushes and roars, creating swirling vortexes at the bases of the supports for the bridge that leads to the east. The only fish capable of living here are the powerful salmon, and even they struggle against the current. The stumps of trees stretch out for two hundred yards to the west, where the forest abruptly resumes.

Irenic whistles while he walked nodding to the idle townsfolk who always seem to be surprised he's still alive, 'he was presumed dead, wasn't he?' would be some whispers he heard. Uncaring of the judgements he would walk on, secretly keeping an eye out for more ruffians. "I am surprised you see much of anything short stack," his teasing on her height granted a smirk as he looked down on her and making sure to take smaller meandering steps. "Yeah that’s where I'm going…" Last time he was there was with Raphaline and he ended up getting a headache from the area, something must've happened there long ago… Who knows, he doesn’t - at least not anymore. Once they passed the Inn he would excuse himself and trot inside, surely she wasn't going to get far since he motioned for her to continue. Once he caught back up to her, he held out his hand which had a napkin from the Inn, "Here, clean yourself up. Don't need anyone thinking I caused this."

Emilia listened while they walked. It was nice to have someone that was more willing to pick on her than dote on her like she was a valued piece of gold needing polished. His teasing came with a smile in return. When he ran into the Inn she kept walking, however she moved at a good pace for her short little legs and limping nature. The rumors about him she ignored, because she didn’t have a care for them. Dead or not dead didn’t bother her. “Afraid of what might happen if you were the reason to the blood?” A chuckle with a grin as she took his napkins. A little bit of tending and she was mostly free of blood, at least her face was clean. “Thanks, Feather Stick,” Ah, still polite a bit.

Irenic guffawed, "Well, you had quite a posse looking for you and caused quite a fuss. Plus, you were mentioning some big bad husband. No thanks." Again he was starting to get a memory headache from the sight of Ara and the Riverbank area, but he was an expert on masking the fact. He motioned upwards, "Well, here you are short stack, be seeing you!" He would make like he was looking about up and down the riverbank until she got inside, then he would take off into the skies towards Xalious.

Emilia would offer a smile, a wave, and a “Take care Feather Stick.” before departing back into Ara to get herself cleaned up before Pilar found her or Sabrina. Then it would be indeed time to crawl back into bed for another day or so for the warm-frozen one.
