Steep Cliff

Satoshi paces at the foot of the cliffs, having chosen to shimmy her way down to the distant floor once she was certain Kasyr was in the area. She knows far better than to be caught at the top of a cliff when her husband is nearby. That lesson's been learned one too many times.

Kasyr , once he ascertains that Satoshi wants to be nowhere near a cliffs edge when around him, resigns himself to joining her. Which is to say, the Revenant steps right off the cliff and proceeds to plummet like a rock. Really, the Kensais just using this as an excuse to test his physical thresholds, and to make a dramatic entrance vis a vis -surviving- that kind of fall. That being said, all theatrical value held within Kasyrs antics are shifted from Drama to comedy, when the resulting impact brings him down to a kneel, and then nearly a face plant. "Fff..."

Satoshi can't help but make a little hop, although whether that's due to actual surprise or the tremor caused by Kasyr's impact near her, is difficult to tell. Whichever it is, the kit's quick to recover, in time to reach out and take hold of the collar of her husband's coat before he can properly faceplant. ...until Satoshi remembers his coat alone weighs more than she does, resulting in her being promptly tugged forward, flailing, to slam into the kensai's back with all the grace off a three-legged dog on ice. "Ooof."

Kasyr , given the situation, has very little else to do besides finishes his face plant, his own voice joining hers in a now unified chorus of "Ooof~" With that said, the Kensai simply proceeds to lay there, sprawled out on the ground with his arms now stretched out in front of him, "So... How ya doing, up there?" Up being a very relative space of a few inches, and all, but still.

Satoshi shifts and shuffles in response, making herself positively comfortable as she adopts a cross-legged sitting position on her unfortunate husband's back. Leaning forward and propping her elbow on his shoulder to support her chin, the foxkin grins--although he obviously can't see the expression, it's easily detectable in her voice. "Rather well, really~. You'd think the coat would be less comfy, what with all the armor plating, but it's quite cosy."

Kasyr mrmbles something that's indecipherable, if only because it's gibberish, before he draws one arm beneath himself so that he can prop himself up on one elbow. From there, he simply takes to drumming his fingers along the ground, "There es a reason I keep getting new coats in that vein, en fait. Et no, it's not because it makes a good impromptu carpet on our bedroom floor."

Satoshi only has to lean a tad bit further to deliver a nip to one of those calico ears. "I'll admit it does, but mine looks far, far better at imitating a rug. It's the fur." Chuckling to herself, the kit begins to tip sideways in an attempt to bring herself into Kasyr's line of sight despite being perched on his back. Success will mean he's given a vulpine smirk before a kiss is abducted without permission.

Kasyr doesn't really have all that much inclination to move, at least until he catches wind of that smirk. It's with a grin that he starts to stir, even as his wifes lips meet his own- the Kensai endeavouring to press off the elbow he had propped himself up on, if only to flounce Satoshi over. "Watch yourself, Mon amour~

Satoshi utters a less than dignified squeak as she's toppled off her husband-turned-throne to be tossed in the dirt, where she remains with a feigned scowl. She'd cross her arms for emphasis, but that's difficult to do with only one that works. Thus, the magus is left with just the offended pout expression, and hopes that that'll be enough to draw the kensai over to her... which is when she'll strike with a blurted, "Tag, you're it~", a kiss aimed for his forehead, and a hasty scramble to her feet before she dashes off.

Kasyr does in fact scrabble over, given that he'd somewhat intended on pinning her. As it currently stands, her proactive bit of impishness earns her a lopsided smirk and enough time to effectively start running off. This also allows the Kensai to drag himself fully off the ground, a few sparse moments spared to dust himself off- before he simply proceeds to give chase. Still, as much as the Revenant is racing after Satoshi- he's still going to keep an eye out, if only because she's tricky.

Rough Range

Satoshi is thinking she should have chosen a different direction to run, as this particularly path isn't friendly to those that want to keep glancing behind while on the move. While normally she might be able to outpace the weightier kensai, Satoshi's not quite as swift at present, her speed severely cut to accommodate the dangerous footing and keep Kasyr in sight. That doesn't mean she's without a few tricks--as he's correctly assumed--for it only takes a whistle or two to draw moisture from the earth, fill the various holes, and freeze it over to leave a scattered minefield of slick ice for Kasyr to navigate. With that, Satoshi can't resist giving him a few taunting flicks of her tails as both encouragement and distraction.

Kasyr is, thankfully enough, not caught unawares. After all, whilst the Revenant does have a particularly uncanny sense of balance- retaining his foot does -not- in fact, prevent him from sliding face first into a wall. He'd probably just retain his footing then, too. As it currently stands, Kasyrs reaction is a bit more proactive, a number of Caliginous cracks forming across the ground in fairly regular intervals. Effectively, the Revenant is coaxing those particular broadswords of his into existence, if only so he can provide himself relatively convenient footholds to hop between, so as to spare himself navigating the various gifts his vixen of a wife left in her wake.

Mountain Path

Satoshi narrowly skirts a particularly jagged boulder after catching sight of the revenant's evasion methods. Cursing, she skids to a halt, momentarily taking her attention off Kasyr so as to focus on the task of drawing that cruelly curved scythe of hers from the nearest pool of ice. With Asorial in hand, Satoshi whirls around back in the direction the kensai had been last, dragging the scythe along the cracked ground in the process. Screeching as it tears through stone and air alike, Asorial is swung in a wide diagonal sweep that ends with it arched above Satoshi while the kit watches the blade of energy they've sent forth cleave through the prior boulder on its course for Kasyr. She's not quite aiming to maim as much as disrupt the kensai and his maneuverings, her lack of violent intentions likely obvious by her still pleasant and playful mood, as well as the chiming, "That's cheating~" that's called before she dashes off once more, Asorial bouncing on her shoulder.

Kasyr isn't quite sure what to define the mass of energy carving through the air towards him, nor the two hunks of stone bouncing along the front of the path, but 'Foul Play' is one of the things tickling at the back of his mind. Still, the Kensai is more than familiar with needing to engage in a bit of impromptu evasion, improvisation oft seeming to be at the heart of -alot- of the Revenants actions. In this particular case, the Revenant takes one good at what's hurtling towards him, before he hops towards the next sword in the nearest list- albeit with every intention of not quite making it. Rather, Kasyr fully intends on rolling to the verge of the path he's upon, so as to avoid being cleaved through, whilst still residing beneath the relative safety of a sword, so as to provide himself a barrier for the chunks of rock that were carried forth by the attacks momentum. Unfortunately for Kasyr, this means he's stopped for a moment. Unfortunately for Satoshi, this means he's staring at a half-boulder stopped against one of his myriad swords and planning.

Satoshi realizes her error by that point. While she'd only intended to upset Kasyr's footing, she's managed to provide him with a potent weapon, something that's currently making her regret not stating that 'tags' could not be done by objects. Especially large, heavy, and fatal objects in the hands of excessively powerful revenants. The thought is enough to make even Satoshi's surefootedness falter. With a yelp, the kit goes sprawling, Asorial flying out of her gasp to skitter across the ground where it wedges itself in one of the many wagon ruts.

Kasyr is definitely intending on using that boulder, though perhaps not in the manner that Satoshi has contemplated. Sparing a moment to glance over towards his wife, and gauage her relative position (and taking note of her currently prone form), the Revenant simply takes hold of the sword he'd taken cover behind before abruptly arcing it back...and then swinging the flat of the blade into the boulder. What follows is -mostly- according to the Revenants plan, as the majority of the rock goes sailing through the air- propelled by supernatural strength and Ouroboros broodlings unnatural denseness. What's peculiar about this is that the Kensai has aimed it well and past Satoshi, meaning to provide her both an obstruction...and a reason to hit the dirt. The fact that he hollers out "Duck!" and that theres a fair bit of debris that was knocked loose now sailing towards that relative area is just icing on the cake. All in all, the situation is effectively set for the Kensai to begin hurrying after Satoshi once more, so as to close the distance she'd so sneakily gained.

Satoshi's in the midst of a scrambling crawl toward Asorial when she hears that forewarning called. With a rather desperate dive, the scythe is taken hold of and, in a maneuver not unlike Kasyr's earlier one, promptly hidden behind with the vague hope her own weapon is equally durable enough to endure a boulder's impact. Oblivious to the fact that the half stone's been sent well over her head, Satoshi is left blinking in wonder at the sound of rocks clattering off Asorial's flat, momentarily convinced it's actually deflected the boulder without so much as a shudder. It's the sudden crash nearby that wakes her up from that daydream, however, and informs her of the kensai's actual intentions. "....Shi-" Probably shouldn't have poked her head out from behind Asorial so soon, else she might have avoided her face getting pelted by the last trailing chunk of debris and interrupting her words. Cursing further, Satoshi hurries to her feet and nearly balks when she discovers Kasyr close and gaining. In a panic her scythe is flailed wildly at the ground in a rapid series of slashes, creating a screen of dust and sending a shower of pebbles pelting in the revenant's direction even as Satoshi once more rushes off in a staggering run--footing compromised by both the newly Kensai-created terrain and recovering nerves.

Mountain Path (Again)

Kasyr is pretty quick to draw his arm in front of his face when faced with that newfound shower of pebbles, his gaze diverting towards the ground- albeit at a diagonal angle so he knew what was coming up. It's in this manner that the Kensai barrels into the screen of dust, the arm which still lay nestled above his brow drawn further up, if only so he could hook his fingers about his goggles and pull them down over his eyes. Without having to concern himself with his vision being hindered by the cloud of debris irritating his eyes, the Revenants once more capable of hurrying after Satoshi full tilt. "You know- if you reach the forest, all that means es I'm going to have access to trees~" That sounds ominous.

Satoshi comes to a halt so abrupt then she nearly topples forward under her own momentum. 'Ominous' is a severe understatement, judging by the deer-caught-in-headlights look the kit's currently wearing. That... or she's getting an idea. The latter might be more likely, as apprehension gives way to a creeping grin that widens with each passing second, for approaching her down the road is a horse-drawn wagon lumbering along at a pleasantly brisk pace. Without looking back to locate Kasyr, Satoshi resumes moving, hurrying along the path and past the traveling merchant. Once most of the draft horse has gone by, the kit twists around and sends Asorial snaking out to slap the work animal's flank with the flat of the blade, the smack of ice on flesh cracking the air like a whip. The animal's owner isn't given time to react before the horse whinnies in pain and fright, and begins running in a blind, mad dash straight for the dust-cloud that's concealing Kasyr. "Keep your trees, I got a horse~." And off she goes, heading not for the forest, but town instead, in hopes she can reach the tavern before Kasyr can catch her.

The Pass Through Xalious

Kasyr , though his vision is obscured by the cloud, would be hard pressed to miss the clopping of the horse as it barrels towards him, or the creak and groan of wood as the carriage bounces up the path. As of such, it likely shouldn't be all that surprising that when the Kensai emerges, he's wreathed in a swirling circle of Caliginous broad swords. Barely a moment is spared before that lethal halo of blades is put to use, one of that myriad lot separating from the whole if only so that it can collide into the horses side. The result is simple enough, an unpleasant cracking noise emanating from the equine as it stumbles away from its intended collision course with the Kensai. It's that particular moment that affords the Revenant his opening, one of the weapons that composed his bladed entourage plucked from their orbit- if only so that he could send it arcing between horse and carriage. An astute eye might notice a deviation upon the Revenants blade in that moment, a peculiar distortion which curls around the 'edge' of the otherwise blunt sword, providing it the keen it otherwise lacked. It's shortlived however, and the wagons owner is more than likely consumed by a mixture of concern for his animal, and fear for his own safety- the latter of which is further amplified when yet more of the Revenants blades are put to use. Specifically, four of those vile black blades fling forward into the mans carriage, shredding into it at a diagonal, angle, so as to rob it of its forward momentum. From there, all it takes is the Kensai to give it a bit of a push to send it on its way...and to hop on for the ride. "You might want to hop off, look after your animal, et all." Because hopping off a moving wagon is all the rage these days.

Satoshi has finally reached the smooth road that leads into town, a fact that has the fox grinning with glee. At least until the sound of squealing wheels and creaking wood reaches her ears in a rapidly approaching sort of way. In all honesty, Satoshi doesn't have to turn around to know what's barreling toward her, she knows Kasyr well enough to guess what he's chosen to do with her 'gift'. Still, she can't help turning to face the wagon bearing her husband toward her and, after a moment scrutinizing the display, she can't quite help grinning either. If he stopped her horse, she'll have to stop his wagon, won't she? The spell begins then as a fast-paced tune hummed by the magus, an arcane weaving set to pull upon the vapors in the air and draw them toward the wagon's wheels to gather at the points where wheels meet axle. From there, Satoshi rapidly slows her spell's tempo, willing the collected waters to still and cool until, with a commanding whistle, they're ordered to freeze solid upon those vital joints. With a violent snap metal and wood shatter from the bewitched flashfreeze and the backend of the wagon slams forward into the ground, furrowing earth and stone as it skids to a near sudden halt. Yes, Satoshi's effectively just attempted to create a Kasyr-catapult with this, even if she's dangerously miscalculated and set it up to leave herself in the kensai's path despite stopping the wagon. Oops.

Kasyr is 'valiantly' riding down the road one moment, and hurtling down it the next- though if the scream that sounds off alongside him is any indication- he is not making this journey alone. It doesn't particularly take very long for the Revenant to realize just who he's on a collision course with, a fact that has him dispelling those various swords which lingered about him. Lacking the mass of implements of Potential perforation, the Kensai simply braces himself for impact; the only bit of preparation afford by the man being a solitary prayer to Daedria, so as to ease the impact between him and whatever he may collide into.

Satoshi momentarily wonders if she never actually stopped the wagon. There's just no way Kasyr could have collided into her with that much force... Groaning, the kit feebly squirms beneath the considerable weight that had, moments before, effectively--and oh so painfully--flattened and pinned her with all the graceless power of a charging bull. There is most certainly a broken thing or two with the magus, she's aware of that much. But if she were paying attention to her surroundings as well, Satoshi might have envied the unfortunate merchant whose short-lived flight met its end in the sidewall of Kelay's restaurant, because while he's very much dead of a broken neck, he's at least not hurting like she is. Instead the foxkin is left dazed, pained, and immobile, still half-convinced it's a broken wagon atop her. Or a horse.

Kasyr supposes, in retrospect, that 'Please, let me and Sato-cat get through this intact' is fairly vague as far as prayers go. Then again, he didn't exactly have alot of time to pray, or think, so that's probably as good as it gets, in that situation. Really, as it currently stands, whilst he doesn't feel -great- he certainly feels better than he might have, should she have managed one of her glacial defensive measures. "....Tag." That said, he just continues to be sprawled.

Satoshi scowls at the calico a long moment before she moves to nudge him weakly with her forehead. "Tag..." That's for shoddy prayers.

Kasyr scoochs his head up alongside her ear, before offering a light nip and the words, "Tag, No tag backs."

Satoshi is hardly in a position to argue, and thus forfeits the game. Not that she's counting it as a loss. There's yet to have been a bad outcome of being entangled as she is currently with the kensai, even on those occasions--like now--where she's bearing an injury or two. "I might have fared better being tossed off the cliff, really. Or -not- stopping the wagon~."

Kasyr doesn't particularly say anything to confirm or deny this, instead choosing to simply keep silent on the matter. But really, that can probably be written off as him focusing upon gathering himself to his feet- if only so he can play the valiant knight to his poor wife, and sweep her up and into his arms. "Home?"

Satoshi, by this point, is certainly glad she didn't argue, as it's gotten her an even better position than she already had. And an invitation to return home for further shenanigans. With a nod and a hum, the kit nestles closer to her calico knight. "Home~."
