Grandiose Courtyard

Emerging out onto a rather large courtyard, shades of various stones create a pattern upon the floor you walk now. The intricate patterns are created by the lacing and intertwining of obsidian, pearl, emerald and ruby colors from the quarry to the north, in the village of Gamorg. Artistry is on full display in this place, the best artists hired to depict a living world to which you tread upon now. It is almost too marvelous to behold that you should wish nary a speck of dirt or dust upon its beautiful design. Ensnaring this wondrous place is the same cream colored brick wall that lines the garden to the south, encapsulating it and making the way to the south the only route from here. One might guess how many could be housed in this confined space, perhaps a thousand or more with their arms outstretched, hands never touching another. A meeting place, one might say, is what this uncapped room could be called. To the very north, almost touching the wall, an arc of pearlescent marble has been erected, vines of the purest green wrapping about it to splash its color and vibrance onto the monotone colored piece.

WEDDING

Leigh spots Vuryal just now as she finally lifted her eyes from the ground. Her cheeks take on a slightly darker shade as she smiles to herself upon seeing her husband to be. Not knowing what else to do, the woman makes her way towards him and stands next to him at the arch. She casts a shy glance up at him and then looks back to the ground.

Vuryal smiles wide as she approaches him. Reaching out to clasp onto her hands, he stands there, waiting for the imminent event to begin.

Myrall waits patiently for the couple to take up their positions before stepping forward and bowing rather stiffly to them both, then lifting her head she allows her voice to ring out over the assembled crowd. “Greetings one and all, you have all gathered here this day to witness the joining of Emperor Lord Vuryal and his bride to be the Lady Leigh. This is a joyous and momentous occasion, one that is to be celebrated throughout the kingdom, but still I must I fear adhere to the formalities.” She now looks directly into the eyes of the Avian. “Sir, in keeping with the traditions and laws of these lands I must ask this of you. Do you come here this day of your own free will and volition with the sole intention of taking this woman as your bride?”

Vuryal grins towards Myrall before turning to his bride. Looking squarely upon her with the fiery crimsons that lay easily within their place upon his face, he speaks the simple truth to her with a rather resounding baritone tone. "I do."

Myrall simply nods, then focuses her attention on the bride, gracing her with a warm smile of encouragement. “And you M’lady? Do you also come here this day of your own free will and volition with the sole intention of taking this man as your husband?”

Leigh has since looked up to watch Myrall as she spoke to Vuryal. When he replies positively to her question, Leigh smiles and turns her eyes upwards to meet his. Her hand tightens upon his and when it is her turn to be asked the same question, the woman nods and admits, "I do."

Myrall once again inclines her head in acknowledgement. Her face now takes on a more sombre aspect as she addresses the couple. “Marriage is a solemn and binding contract between two people. It is the joining of both the physical and spiritual being in a life long contract, which will encompass both good and bad, but through each of these phases of your lives together the love you share should be the constant that supports and nourishes you, that enables you to grow and become all that you are destined to be. However it is not always easy to remember this when days turn into weeks and weeks into years, so with that in mind I would like to now give each of you the chance to say to your beloved what is in your heart at this time, so that they might carry this with them always, and ever know that they are loved.” Casting her gaze towards Vuryal she says. “Sir? Is there aught you would like to say to your bride, so that she might know what is in your heart this day?”

Vuryal nods as he turns towards Leigh to address her. His voice is calm, unwavering and fluid, words flowing with ease as he says all the following with a supreme smile emblazoned upon his face. "Leigh Sinclair, for too long have I roamed these lands without knowing what it was like to finally have something worth living for. No longer am I a messenger to others, for now my message is clear to me. I am to honor you as you have honored me. I am to protect you as you have protected me. And above all, I am to love you as you love me. The sun may set and the seasons fade away, but that which is in my heart shall always long to be with you."

Myrall raises a surprised eyebrow, so taken aback is she that Vuryal is capable of voicing such tender sentiments that it is a second or two before she is able to gather her composure and continue on with the ceremony, and when she does manage to speak the words are quiet and rather stuttered. “M…M’lady, I…I would also ask of you… is.” she coughs softly. “Is there aught you wish to say to your groom so that he might know what is truly in your heart?”

Leigh is also stunned by Vuryal's sincerity and her eyes glisten as she listens to his promise. When Myrall asks the same question of her, the woman smiles widely despite the blush on her face. "The day I met you was the day that I knew there was such a thing as destiny. From that day forward, I knew that there was only one man I would ever serve, one man I would ever obey, and only one man that I could ever say I would die for. You are all that is in my heart and all that has ever been there. Never have I looked forward to the future as I do now. You are my everything. Without you, I am nothing. If you are not in my future, then I have no future. That is why I will gladly be your wife and each day I will strive to prove my love and devotion more strongly than the last. That is my promise to you."

Myrall now reaches into the pocket of her cloak and withdraws a small leather pouch, tipping the contents into the palm of her hand and returning the pouch deftly to her cloak she smiles before holding out the rings for the couple to see. “These are the bands that you will soon exchange, and from this day forward wear with pride, for they are the outward symbol of the vows you are about to make. For like true love, they are perfect in their symmetry and eternal in their form. There is no join, no beginning nor end they simply exist.” She hands the smaller more delicate of the rings carefully to Vuryal. “Sir, if you could place this upon your lady’s finger and repeat these words: I give this ring to you as my promise of my continued love and devotion, and with it I swear myself wholly to you, not just as the man who stands before you now, but the man I will become as I live and flourish within your love.”

Myrall gave 1 ring of-the empress to Vuryal

Vuryal takes the ring from Myrall, toying with it for a moment before a firm grasp is placed upon it. He then turns towards Leigh, sliding the ring upon her left hand while reciting the words stated by the paladin. "I give this ring to you as my promise of my continued love and devotion, and with it I swear myself wholly to you, not just as the man who stands before you now, but the man I will become as I live and flourish within your love."

Vuryal gave 1 ring of-the empress to Leigh.

Myrall next gently delivers the other band into the Lady Leigh’s waiting hands, smiling at the bride she charges her to do like wise. “M’lady, if you could place this ring on your betrothed’s finger and say these words: I give this ring to you as my promise of my continued love and devotion, and with it I swear myself wholly to you, not just as the woman who stands before you now, but the woman I will become as I live and flourish within your love."

Myrall gave 1 amber-stone emperor`s-ring to Leigh.

Leigh smiles in return to Myrall, taking the ring into her hand and clasping her fingers over it for a moment before turning towards Vuryal once again. She brings his left hand upwards and gently slides the item onto his finger as she repeats those binding words. "I give this ring to you as my promise of my continued love and devotion, and with it I swear myself wholly to you, not just as the woman who stands before you now, but the woman I will become as I live and flourish within your love."

Leigh gave 1 amber-stone emperor`s-ring to Vuryal.

Myrall’s face now breaks into a wide, warm smile as she lifts her head high and addresses everyone. “We have all borne witness to the vows made by this couple, and have seen them exchange their wedding rings, as demanded by our laws, so now all that remains for me to do is to bestow upon them the blessing of the gods and to pronounce that they be hence forth and forever more husband and wife.” She turns slightly so that she is facing Vuryal and with almost a slight laugh in her tome declares. “Milord, you may now kiss your bride.”

Vuryal says to Myrall, "I know that." And then, with a slight twist to his waist, legs following suit, the dark avian looks upon Leigh before he suddenly leans forward, arms shooting about her waist to hug her as he bends her over backwards. A kiss is planted upon her lips with a fiery passion that would make the heart of a cold-hearted ice queen like Satoshi melt in humble adoration of such a thing to witness.

Leigh's eyes go wide a split second before she is bent backwards and has only a moment to throw her arms around Vuryal's neck before their lips meet in pure bliss. The bride's eyes snap closed as she squeezes her lord's neck and presses her lips against his for the first time as husband and wife.

Myrall coughs loudly as the passionate kiss continues then declares even more loudly. "My lords ladies and gentlemen I give you the Emperor and Empress."
