RP:An auspicious coincidence!

From HollowWiki

This is a Healer's Guild RP.

Loire happens across Sabrina, just the gal he is looking for! A new recruit is in the midst for the expanding Healer’s Guild.

Sabrina sat with her legs dangling over the cliff’s edge. She appeared to be alone, but most who knew her would know otherwise. The hound was probably off disturbing someone’s peace, or stealing chickens…again. It was not a concern of hers until she had to bail him out… again. She reached into a small bag held in her lap, pulling out a few dried berries and popping them in her mouth. She was told when to eat to ensure the weakness did not overcome her once more. The village below offered the entertainment as dawn opened a new day and the shopkeepers had already begun to open their businesses. A small string of younglings, human mostly, trail behind a short fat man with a pointed hat, headed towards the mages tower.

Loire saunters through the pass, munching on a chocolate chip cookie. The golden-feathered bard had just been in Kelay for some, a harrowing journey that had left him wandering in a jungle filled with bloodthirsty dinosaurs and ended up with a desperate recall after being surrounded by a pack of savage raptors. Oh, but these cookies are absolutely divine! So very fortunate that the restaurant remained open even late. Perhaps he should journey to Larket for some brownies, too. Yes, a marvelous idea! It was probably this way, right after he passed the mountains... He makes a turn, and finds himself looking at a cliff. Well, this was not Larket. But all is not lost, for here there is someone to ask for directions! "I say, Hello there! What a magnificent morning!" he calls out, completely oblivious of who he's addressing.

Sabrina is not startled by his boisterous entrance. He was noisy; without even looking she gleaned a sizable male, one not used to walking for his stride was heavy and purposeful. And his mouth was full. She wipes the look of disgust from her face and replaces it with a convincing friendly smile. “It is a morning like any other, I suppose.” Her common is crap, pieced together in a way that isn’t too difficult to understand. She stands at her full five foot height, dusting off her pants to reveal the mark of Asclepius burnt into the leather of her shoulder- the very mark left on her notes passed by the Blue-Eyed Ravens, messengers of the Guild. She scatters the remaining bits of nuts and dried fruits on the ground and tucks the small bag to her belt. It wasn’t enough to feed a small child, but the effort was there. “Can I help you with something?” She bends to retrieve her bag, and her bow. The bow is strung across her form, the bag just over her shoulder and pushed towards her back. Her spot of serenity was tainted with company. Upon laying eyes on him, an Avian no less. She still seems quite polite, even the tones adopted in her voice were convincing enough to the untrained ear. She observes on his person an instrument. A slight frown that he may not exactly have an untrained ear.

Loire stops before the lady and makes a grandiose bow. "A pleasant morning to you, Milady! My name is Loire, a humble bard. Might I trouble you with directions to Larket? I appear to have gotten terribly lost." he says with a lilting tenor. Recovering from the bend, he finally he finally gets a look at her. By what body language she had not yet straightened out, or perhaps it was the grip on her bow, she was rather ill at ease, but to be honest, that was not an uncommon reaction, though he was quite at a loss as to why. The symbol on her shoulder looks to be of the Healer's Guild, reminding him of that unfortunate missed meeting with... False-green eyes make a quick sweep over her features again, just to be sure they matched the description he had spent much time in Larket to piece together. The locals guffawed at him whenever he asked what the Guildmaster looked like, as though it were common knowledge even to children. And perhaps it was, since nobody ever gave him a straight answer. He was the laughingstock of the town for days. But more recently, had he not seen this person at the Frostmaw Tavern? Loire swallows the last bit of cookie left in his mouth before asking tentatively, "Miss... Sabrina?

Sabrina arches a thin dark brow. “One in the same.” Over his shoulder there is a rustling, a peer around his form gives the source a small shake of head which sounds a retreat of sorts. Her hand falls from the bow to better negotiate the weight of her bag. Eyes deep and green like the sea are still resting on him in her silence, as she began to wonder if those directions were still necessary. “Something you require?” Her posture was fighting her counterbalance to remain perfectly poised. She was small, frail even- the bag probably weighed more than she. She began up the path one small stride at a time, she intended to show him the way to Larket if that was what he needed.

Loire brings his delicate fingers together for a bit of rapid applause. "What an auspicious coincidence!" he says happily. "I believe we've corresponded through mail a tiny bit? About receiving training from the Healer's Guild? To be honest, I had expected such an inconsuqential letter as mine to be handled by a functionary, but to receive the attention of the Guildmaster herself... it is truly an honor." He bows and flatters and continues to gush his apologies at failing to recognize her at the Frostmaw tavern, completely oblivious of the presence behind him in the brief time it appears and pulls back. All thoughts of going to Larket are forgotten, for now, as he asks, "Perhaps we should speak someplace more comfortable?"

Sabrina was oddly quiet. He was a lot to take in and his common came so fast it was difficult to follow along. She blinked at him for a few moments while his words took their time to resonate. “I handle all recruits personally.” She didn’t respond appropriately to flattery, and for a person so closely related to the healing of all things one might have expected her to be a little more chipper or approachable. “I am just a person, like everyone else. With duties and function.” She continues up the path towards the main road. “I have an appointment this evening with a patient in Cenril. I suspect I will be in Larket for a time shortly after. If you would like to meet me at the House of Ara I will be there for the next few days reorganizing the ranks.”
