RP:An Awakening

From HollowWiki

Summary: Rinn digs up an old grave in the Northern Sage Forest releasing an undead illusionist known as Revan (Formerly Tyler) into The World Called Hollow.

Northern Sage Forest

Rinn couldn't explain the pull that brought her this deep into the woods this day. The sun had long gone from the storm clouds that brew as a soft rain fall began dusting over her hair. Sticks cracked under her heavy foot fall while her arms crossed over her torso, she furthered deeper.

Revan :: The sound of rain drops splashing onto the barren tree branches and forest floor helps break the silence in company of Rinn's own boots crushing dead leaves that littered the entire area. A feeling of uncertainty is heavily present in this secluded section of the Sage, untouched even by the ever present and patrolling Drow that plague the forest with their aggravated presence. As the woman with the fiery hair marches on, she rapidly approaches a destination that unbeknownst to her will carry a role of great importance in changing the landscape of Hollow for years to come. A sudden cry rings out with heavy vibration rapidly bouncing from tree to tree and inspection reveals a single black colored bird holding a cold stare locked with necromancer while it nests on a overhanging branch just above a unique plot of land that appears to have been recently struck by a lighting with intricate designs lashing out in a pattern surrounding the cleared section of freshly moved dirt - this is a grave site. So far out in the forest and secluded from other burial sites hints that the plot likely belongs to a wealthy member of society with strong ties to the forest itself, pushing a great urge to have a peek inside to anyone with strong curiosity, greed or both.

Rinn froze when she heard the undead cry as she locked eyes to the crow she brought her arm up to run her nails down the back of her neck, You expect me to dig that up? She asked in a teasing manner as if the bird knew something she didn't. Rinn exhaled and shook her head before she emitted a cuss tossing her bag from her shoulders to the ground, why was she always curious. Her fingers pulled apart the straps that bound her spade to her pack and she set to work eating away at the dirt. You awake down there? You'll have to bargain to get out.

Revan :: The bird tilts it's head at the question and remains vigilant in it's observation even as Rinn uses her spade to dig up the dirt of the grave. The second question is met with silence excluding the familiar sound of the dirt rubbing against metal, likely causes a feeling of silliness for the assumption of finding anything more than a corpse buried beneath her feet. The rain picks up as a crack of thunder booms out over the Sage providing a second guess on if she'd truly heard anything at all or if her paranoia had been toying with her mind.

Rinn would dig for a solid chunk of time pausing to wipe her brow or sip from her flask. The alcohol made the task less tedious while a whistling gave her a beat to work with. The song held a different value to her reminding her of a certain bard, as her mind wandered she dug deeper. Finally the metal on wood made an audible thud and she smiled with satisfaction. The spade of her shovel then was jammed between the lid and base to creak loose with enough leverage.

Revan :: The lid pops open revealing a corpse that contradicts the signs of the dirt that covered the grave. Dirty black robes cover what gray flesh is left as maggots are seen actively making a meal of their host including a large bulge on the victim's left arm that seems to be pulsating like a heart beat. If riches were what Rinn had hoped to find disappointment would surely swell over her as the only notable object in the coffin is a unique heart shaped amulet filled with a crimson blood like liquid partnered with blue specks of mana swirling within, oddly the amulet itself seems to be clean and new a trait that is amplified due to the light glow emitting from the base.

Rinn squinted at the corpse, she could see him being good looking in a past life, though those thoughts didn't linger long as a shiny pendent caught her undivided attention, Better then nothing. She grumbled reaching out her hand to coil around the jewellery that was now hers with a yank of her hand. Rinn paused for a moment before she would rebury the coffin.

Revan lashes out quickly without hesitation wrapping his cold hand around the necromancer's wrist pulling the amulet free before sitting up to look around with his iced oceanic blue eyes. The undead man doesn't make so much as a whisper before ascending from the grave to hold out his arms, turning them over for examination as if he's taking in his own new form. But then his gaze is locked with Rinn once again as the mute seems to stare directly into the woman's soul, the stare never breaking as his skin begins to gain color and shifts with a chilling crunching sound filling the air until standing before Rinn is a flawless reflection of herself. The black bird from above cries out gaining the attention of the newly resurrected beast, reaching out with his left hand the bird flies down to land on the Revan's limb. She's looking at her again, or well, -it's- looking at her again until the faux Rinn moves to pluck a single white rose from the ground near the grave, the petals instantly withering in transformation to a solid absence of color, the flower then offered to the real Rinn as a token of gratitude for releasing the creature known as Revan into the world.

Rinn shrieked balling up a fist to strike as her wrist was grabbed. She stepped back with a growl as he took on her form, not matter how good he looked there could only be one Rinn, Knock it off. She ordered doubling over to unsheather her boot knife with a metallic grind, she wouldn't accept the rose not when he stood as her. I will put you back where I found you.

Revan remained eerily still while keeping his hand extended to Rinn seemingly unphased by her threat. The bird cries out again in a sharp high pitch while the rain around them begins to pour heavily with the sun long gone and darkness taking over the forest. Revan did not seem threatening while he remained in Rinn's form during his offer, only his true eye color betraying his identity. If Rinn were wise she would review the offer and take it or leave it, judgment was coming and her actions alone would choose her place on the board...

Rinn wasn't amused in the least, So this is the thanks I get? She asked snatching the black rose from the undead Rinn, I brought you into this world. She warned also foreshadowing that she'd want some form of compensation. Who put you there?

Revan stares at Rinn with a tilted head noting her frustration and the obvious pattern of greed and demand. The lips of the doppelganger curl into a smile while her question goes unanswered as a sudden sizzling noise like water cooling a recently used skillet brings attention to small puffs of smoke rising from Revan's body, flesh boiling to a melt upon contact from the rain water pouring down from the heavens. The companion perched on the undead's left arm takes flight just before his entire form collapses into a puddle on the ground, leaving the woman alone in the rainy forest with only a single black rose to show for her hard work in releasing a new creature into The World Called Hollow.

Rinn sniffed the flower and sheathed her knife. She would investigate more at a later time deciding to follow the lead of the large black bird, besides the rain was washing out the poor graver robber leaving her to jog back to the tavern to mull over this encounter with a bottle of rum.
