RP:Aftermath of Sabotage

From HollowWiki

Part of the Merfolk Tale Arc

Summary: Sadie arrives at the aftermath of the bombing, and plants the rumor that the ferry captain had been drinking heavily with the attending Rynvalian authorities.

Characters: Sadie, Npc Samson, Kirien, Sela, Npc Rynvale officers, Npc victims.

Location: Cenril Beach

Sadie: The costal, briny breeze of the port does little to mask the scent of death that currently liters the waters and the beach alike. Charred wood and blackened metal from a ship who had the unfortunate ending there in the harbor the night before acts as buoys and rafts for dead bodies. The soldiers, garbed in Rynvale’s uniform that, are currently inspecting the situation find themselves muttering and itching their heads, completely discombobulated. Surely there must have been witnesses to this accident? Unfortunately for them however, none step forward from the crowd that has been pushed back and corralled like cattle behind a rope. That is, until Sadie steps onto the scene. Easily led through the crowd by a taller, similarly dressed man who shares her ethereal appearance, the woman whistles loudly enough to garner the attention of one of the soldiers. “Oi, you there. What the hell happened?” The ropes used to mark off the scene of destruction doesn’t keep her amongst the staring and gossiping crowd and she quickly ducks underneath it despite the disagreeing shouts from some of Rynvale’s men. To spite the men telling her to get back, she easily steps over the blue face of an unfortunately drowned man who she doesn’t offer a second thought to. However, the next body she comes to, just as equally bloated and blue as the last, she flicks her gaze to before pausing in step and reaching over to slap the blonde man’s chest who accompanies her. “Samson, isn’t that the guy from last night?” She ventures, crooking a brow towards her companion who nods silently. The closest soldier quickly jogs the rest of the way towards her now once he’s heard her recognition. “Ma’am, you know this man?” He asks, quickly reaching for a pad and pen to jot down any information she gives.

Sela had been laying low in a tavern near by when she’d started hearing about the accidental deaths of countless soldiers. Curiosity was a problem for her and most of her kind, so without a thought the lynx slides out the door and follows the crowd, soon ending up at the shore and running muddy iris' over the scene lain out before her. There wasn't a face in the rubble she knew, though a few in the crowd and one particular one within the confines of the crash site. The mermaid if offered a lofted brow, whether she was looking the feline’s way or not, and feeling the need to feed her bane more, the striped feline headed closer to the ones asking the important questions to quell her curiosity. She'd not speak, wishing not to draw any attention to herself, though large, tufted ears would slowly twist this way and that in attempts to narrow in on what the mysterious fish woman was up to.

Kirien || Boots tap sharply at the cobble-stoned ground, a heavy sound enriched with a metallic clink, the only real warning before Kirien's abrupt arrival. Skidding around a corner, sparks flying from the soles of modified steel-capped boots, the Elf vaults over the sea wall separating beach from street lanes, laughing excitedly. The raucous shouts of a group of men follow behind him. Ducking into the crowd gathered on the beach itself and slinking down low, weaving through people, a shield of bodies is created for Kirien and the men run by, seemingly have thought the Elf to have dashed down a nearby side street. "Aha~. Stupid idiots." With that, amber eyes will turn from the city itself to the scene before him. He's curious as to what everyone is staring at, and pushes his way through the crowd, slipping beneath the rope cordoning off the area. Kirien's gaze flicks to and fro, the Elf quite clearly ignoring any shouts directed his way for him to get back behind the barrier. Destruction, death, ashes on the wind and Kirien sniffs slightly, intrigued by the scent carried to him upon the ocean wind. And then he'll take note of a nearby body, and giggle somewhat childishly, and run over to inspect it closer; kneeling down, he pokes at the bloated, cold body a few times before abruptly jumping upward-- and onto the dead man. "Squishy, squishy…" he murmurs as he jumps, perhaps mimicking the sound the somewhat disfigured form makes each time he jumps on its stomach. "Hee! He's all squishy~!" Kirien laughs, jumping up and down with a little more force this time.

Sadie:: The officer preparing to question Sadie is momentarily distracted by the elf who places himself into the area, and the moment he slips past the ropes, he casually flicks his fingers towards the boy, signaling for him to be contained and placed back behind the boundaries. However, it’s then that Kirien begins jumping atop the body and Sadie turns to regard the elf with a snarl. “Have respect for the dead.” She snaps while Samson moves towards the jumping elf to either scare him from the body or snatch him off of it. Samson was a rather tall and stacked man; at a lumbering six foot four, he over looked the heads of many people and his muscles did the majority of his talking for him. Whether or not Kirien complies with the man’s wishes or her own, Sadie turns back towards the officer who warily watches the elf and blonde man while few soldiers continue to move towards the two, commanding constantly for the boy to stop. “We had drinks yesterday afternoon in the tavern just up the street. Captain James McCorely, he said his name was. I told him it probably wasn’t such a bright idea to be drunk while piloting his ship, but it’s obvious he hadn’t listened it seems.” The look there in her eye would tell a different story, but it’s a look that the officer before her doesn’t notice.

Sela :: The attention between the jumping elf and the dead bodies slowly started to be shared with the feline who smelled so much of the sea. It was odd, to have one of her race smell of anything else but fur and cat. She was indeed an oddity, one what, apparently, had been spoken of between the sea-faring folk in the last few weeks. It was then she'd step from the crowd, heading first towards the elf whom acted the part of a child. "She's right ya know... 's rude ta use em as a trampoline." Her pace wouldn't slow with her words, bare near paw like feet carrying her closer to the mermaid where, with a smirk on her face, she'd move to corroborate Sadie's story. "Aye, I dun remember his name, but he was awful stagger-y when he decided ta pull outta port. Sad thing, a cap'in bein the cause of such death. Almost sounds... like a fairy tale..." Her last words were spoken while earthen eyes turn towards the other woman, and the felines smirk vanishes, "Wouldn't ya agree?" It was subtle, the way Sela told she knew something wasn't right, though the officer seemed to believe it, least from the look the lynx saw on his face. It was then she'd fall silent again, turning to look back at the child-like elf and the burly man sent to fetch him.

Kirien can't help but pause, and glance in the direction of the first woman to speak to him, and laugh. His tone is decidedly sweet, almost syrupy when he speaks, but that laugh is nothing but mocking, those words cold and heartless. "What's to respect? It's a body, a husk. There's nothing in here now! Now all this is is a hunk of useless meat shaped to look like a person~." And with that, he'll go back to his game, too interested in the squishing sounds the dead man makes beneath his feet and weight to take much notice of anything else at the moment. Although he does look up upon realizing a few burly men are stalking his way. "Oh, please. Don't. Can't you see I'm innocent? I don't mean any harm by it…" he says, looking up at the one called Samson and blinking, dark lashes fluttering over bright amber eyes. And indeed, he does appear rather harmless; fragile, even, dressed in civilian clothes and stood at naught by five foot five feet off the ground with an obviously skinny stature. He's hardly threatening in any way, so why law enforcers and that odd female see fit to send so many huge men after him, Kirien's not quite sure. Although it's best never to judge one by their cover, as cliché as it sounds. When Samson gets too near, however, he'll hop off of the body, dodge around the Rynvalian men, and move to another nearby. "Ooh. This one ate quite a bit before he died, I think. He's even squishier~!" And the faces of the on looking crowd may become a little discoloured right about now, as a pair of hidden knives on the soles of the Elf's boots snap out, slicing through bloated flesh and clothing and spilling blood and intestines onto the sand. "Ah…he broke.." Kirien will seem rather childishly upset by this, and pout.

Sadie turns quickly towards Sela with quirked brows and an amused grin that quickly drops off her face the moment ‘fairy tale’ is mentioned. Thankfully, at that very moment, her lack of a grin could be blamed for the fact the officer states: “It was a fire that did it. The Cap’n didn’t crash into anything.” The woman’s icy gaze curls back towards the Rynvalian and she snorts softly, choosing at this point to curl her arms over her chest. “Then perhaps you need to find out what it was that ship was carrying. Drunkards due tend to have horrible sea legs, and it’s quite possible someone dropped a lantern. Kerosene burns rather quickly, and depending on what it was dropped on, it could have been the entire….cause.” The means for her distracted finish is brought on only by the sudden screech of a woman there in the crowd who had been silently sobbing the entire time, begging the investigators to allow her to go to her son. Portly and well-rounded, the woman obviously has some weight to throw around and the moment Kririen slices open her son’s belly, she ducks under the rope and barrels straight towards the disrespectful elf, her eyes a’blazin’ and her fists a’swingin’. “Get the hell off of him you monster!” She screams, content in chasing the boy should he comply to her wishes and remove himself from her now ‘broken’ son. Sadie, turns towards Samson with a glare but the blonde man merely watches the bouncing elf, content with allowing the officers to detain the boy.

Sela :: Raising her shoulders at the explanation offered by the man in charge, the feline only starts to further help prove Sadie's words by agreeing, "Aye, as she said then. Iffin it were a fire, something musta been on that ship to cause such..." She waves her hands out before her to show the devastation all around. Sensitive ears flatten against her silver hair as the scream is let loose from the mourning mother, and with a twist of her form she'd turned her back towards the officer and allowed earthen colored eyes to watch and follow the on-goings of slicing corpses and the jumping elf. "Someone should really lock 'im up..." Hands reach up to hold her ears down further; a poor attempt to block out the squish noise and the even more disturbing slicing of the intestine.

Kirien || Horrendous squishing sounds continue to fill the air for a few moments, until that scream rents the air apart and Kirien looks up, loses focus, and slips in the entrails crowding the space at his feet. With a sudden cry of surprise he's laying flat on his back on the sand, having luckily missed any pebbles and in doing so, keeping his skull intact. He'll pause but a moment before leaping back to his feet, and ducking under one of the flying fists of the woman. "Now this just isn't fair. It's his own fault for dyin'!" the Elf laughs, dancing off to one side around the body. His next move is set to make him seem even more twisted to onlookers both civilian and otherwise, for he comes to an abrupt stop, waiting for the grieving mother to come near again before kicking swiftly outwards in a kick reminiscent of a roundhouse, wicked blade hidden on the sole of his boot still sticky with the woman's son's blood aimed right at her throat. "If it upsets you so, ma'am, then you should go with him…"

Sadie:: The moment Kirien stops is the moment Samson steps in. He had been heading towards the boy again the moment the grieving mother had found her way into the mess of a situation. Large arms curl under Kiri’s arms and around his waist to quickly yank him from the woman and save her jugular from being shredded before angling the elf to throw him over Sam’s beefy shoulder. Of course, the blonde man is aware of those bladed boots, so thereafter, Sadie’s right-hand man moves to yank them from the boy’s feet. The sobbing mother, who has now hit the dirt in a ball, is coaxed from the scene by officers before moving to cover the gutted body of her son with a tarp. Sadie, casting a look towards Sela, then states for the officer, “I think I’ll be going now. We should probably get out of your hair.” Jerking a thumb towards Kirien, she also adds. “We’ll be taking him with us. Less problems for you.” And to keep him out of jail. And so, she pivots on her heel and stalks towards the elf and Samson while hissing a sharp: “Cut your crap out, else they throw you in jail you idiot.” Hopefully, the boy won’t cause too much trouble long enough so that they can escape from the scene and to a less populated area.

Kirien gives a rather unmanly squeal when he's picked up so abruptly, although that's perfectly all right for him since he appears to be but a boy in looks. Having been concentrating too intently upon the oncoming woman to notice Samson moving up behind him, the Elf is a little surprised by the action and all, and kicks his legs wildly in an attempt to break free. "Eee~! Let go, let go! You're so big and strong, please let go…" Dangling from the man's huge shoulder Kirien wriggles about, testing his strength perhaps. Although when the strange woman accompanying Samson speaks to him, he pauses, glancing down at her before grinning. "Aw, my saviour. I thought women were supposed to be the damsels in distress?" He was hardly in a huge amount of trouble though, so why he's comparing this situation to that is unclear. But for now he'll calm down a bit, and busy himself feeling up Samson's back, amused by the way his muscles ripple beneath the skin; feel free to take him wherever you like now.

Sadie:: Poor Samson looks terribly uncomfortable underneath Kirien’s exploring hands, but thankfully the elf doesn’t look like much of a boy. The uncomfortable bit is only brought on by the side thrown glare Sadie offers him in wake of a silly grin there on his lips. “Oi. Quit feelin’ him up.” She snaps towards Kiri as she leads the pair of men down the busy street and away from the ship wreck. Jealousy wasn’t always kind to the woman.
