RP:A Young Elf

From HollowWiki

Adela was passing through this quite unfamiliar village. She did not like how dark it was, and never heard any real good rumors about these lands. With her staff in hand, she stops at the town square and glances about. 'Hmmm...Maybe I should get a new pet while I am down here.' She thought to herself. Walking over to the stone gazebo, she takes a seat and pulls out a bottle of fresh water to drink.

Slit watches from the shadows of the nearby buildings keeping an eye on Adela. When she takes a seat he speaks from the shadows "welcome to Larket my dear little elf" he then slides along the sidewalk keeping just out of sight and moving closer to behind Adela all the while maintaining a vigilant eye on her

Adela narrowed her eyes at the words she heard and stood back up slowly. Gripping her staff, Adela remained quiet, looking around for who might be talking to her. "Big things come in little packages, better show yourself.." She would finally call out without a hint of fear.

Slit emerges from the shadows with his woodland garb covering his body. He looks upon the blonde elf with a little curiousity and grins as she holds her staff, he then with a swipe of his brushes his long white hair behind his ears and then straights his beard and then gives a slight bow to Adela. "I do not mean to startle you child, I am just an old elf who lives here with my brothers and sisters." Without even the remote sign of fear he simply walks toward her and takes a seat beside her on the gazebo and pats the seat next to him for her to sit.

Adela knew not to be too trusting, thus, she would much raher find a nearby railing to lean against, and she does. She knew her staff was useless, unless she whacked him on the head with it. "Why don't you live in the forest, like the rest of the elves? This place looks rather...dull." She'd point out, though keeping an eye on the other elf. She takes a sip of her water for the walk down here had her fairly parched. "I don't want to hurt you... so don't try any fancy tricks.." She would add. Even though she may sound convincing, Adela really could not defend herself against almost anything.

Slit chuckles a little at the question of him living in the woods. "Oh I once lived there hundreds of years ago." taking a moment to ponder and stroke his beard he thought to himself, how much the young little elf knows, he asks her a simple question "so you live in the sage forest, tell me do you want to restore the silver throne?" he then with his cold blue eyes watched her as he knew that the answer she gave determined rather he would kill her or not this very moment. He slide his hand back towards his bow and laid his fingers along the smooth wood just in case he would have to put her down, just like so many others.

Adela immediately held her hand out to him when he grabbed his bow. "You would not be thinking of using that now would you?" She asked with a small crackle in her voice. The question he asked went unanswered for the moment, as Adela now had something a bit more important on her mind. That bow probably would not be handed over too easily. Though, to make things a bit worse, she'd finally answer with. "I do live in the Sage Forest, but only a certain part. I am afraid I don't know what throne your talking about." She narrowed her eyes, ready to make a move if needed.

Slit shook his head at her answer then mumbled to himself "they get younger and more naive with every war." Then looking back to Adela he gave a warm smile "someone as young as you has nothing to fear from me, do tell me though, Do you want to push the drow out of the sage?" he already knowing the answer she would give simply leaned back and just waited for the words to come from her lips.

Adela crossed her arms over her chest and stared at him. "Ether use the bow, or put it away. Im not flashing my staff towards you am I?" She demanded. She looked around to see if there was anyone else who may sneek up on her, and then turned back to answer him. "Of course I want the drows out of there. Im not a fighter yet. Until I find someone who can teach me to hold and control fire or electricity at my will, I cannot fight. I surely can heal almost anything though. Practice that on a daily basis." She explained

Slit nods towards Adela, knowing all along how naive the young are. "did you know that the drow ancestors once lived in the sage with our ancestors? The reason I asked about the silver throne is because it was the issue of succession to the throne that shattered the elves and cause us to split into what we are today." he studies adela's face to see if she is shocked to hear the history

Adela was indeed a bit shocked to hear that news, and was getting tired of standing. She figured if this man was going to do anything, then he would have by now. "I did not know that.. There is only one throne? Why don't we build a second one for the drows, as a peace offering?" She asked curiously. She set her staff down and stared at the man.

Slit shakes his head again "it is not so simple a thing as building a throne, this civil war between the elves has been raging for 25,000 years and won't end anytime soon you can be sure of that. If you truly wish the drow out of the sage there are a few ways to get them out though any way requires both gold and blood for someone to pay."
