RP:A Vampire And an Eel Meet In a Tavern...

From HollowWiki

Kelay Tavern

Sparky walked in leaning on a copper pole. It helped stabilize him as he walked to the counter, and sat down. He sat and paid for a drink and waited, patiently for anyone who could help him.

Pilar had ventured out of Vailkrin with another mission. This one, however, was personal. She had an ex- friend to find and interrogate. She stopped into Kelay Tavern, hoping to find him, or find someone who could help her find him. When she entered, though, her eye was immediately drawn to the strange creature by the bar. And she thought crab people were weird.

Sparky was careful to lean on the counter rather than his copper pole. His legs were weak for land mobility, he had been in the sea his entire life, and was not used to walking, he sat carefully and noticed the woman walk into the tavern. Staring at the woman he nervously turned back to his drink, but quickly looked again. Locking eyes with her. His voice was his own normal but to most it was squeaky, "Hello?"

Pilar was not the same trusting person she had become since coming to Hollow. She was back to her wary, pre-Hollow self. As such, she eyed the eel-man carefully, nervously. Out of politeness, but only politness, she responded, "Hi." That was it. No name, no introduction. Still, she approached the bar, giving Sparky a wide berth. She caught Nancy's attention and asked if she'd seen Xzavior around, briefly describing him in case Nancy wasn't familiar. The barmaid answered in the negative.

Sparky was distract by the girl. But being who he was, he was determined not to let the conversation drop. "Its um nice to see somone here besides myself." He lowered his eyes, away from the woman. Behind him he didn't notice as a fisherman who had followed from Cenril threw his knife at him. He turned towards it and cried out, suddenly a plasmic bolt grabbed the item midair holding it in place from his own body. He stared at the knife barely and inch from his face and made a motion to push it away and the knife moved back a few feet and dropped. The man whoever he was ran, but sparky still stunned just buried his face in his hands. "Why did I ever come out of sea?"

Pilar jolted (pun intended) when she saw the strange creature throw out a bolt of plasma. She watched the fisherman run, then looked back at the distraught eel. He looked so forlorn. Trusting or not, she still could not stand to see others sad. "I'm sorry..." she murmured, reaching out to touch his shoulder.

He felt her near him before she could touch his shoulder he fell out of his chair to avoid having her touch him. "Please...Please don't touch me, I don't wanna hurt... another." His lip tremored with tears in his electric blue eyes.

Pilar was at first offended, but when he mentioned hurting someone, and she saw the tears in his eyes, she understood. "Alright... I will not touch you. Tell me, though, why I cannot." She was not sure what help she could offer, but she was curious. And who knows, maybe she'd have an idea.

"You saw what happened with the knife," his voice trembled, "I cannot control it, all the people I have hurt, by merely a touch, a glancing touch, and worse those who sought to comfort, me. Or..." he choked up.

Pilar frowned. So, he couldn't control his magic? That was no good. Neither was the fact that she could not touch him to offer comfort. "I'm very sorry. Have you... been to the Mage's Tower? Maybe someone there can help you. I will show you the way, if you need it."

"I have, they told me to go jump off a cliff." Sparky said, "I did that too, that didn't work."

Pilar's face darkened. She would not be sending anyone to the Mage's Tower for help again anytime soon. "I'm very sorry," she said again. "I cannot imagine why they would do such a thing." She pondered for awhile. Who did she know that was well-versed in magic that could actually help him? Illusionists and necromancers probably were not what he needed. Although... "Have you heard of Kreekitaka? He creates clothes. Maybe he can create something for you that will make you safe to touch... But, he will not do it for free. You will need gold... or to offer your labor. That is... all I can think of to help you, I'm sorry."

"Your kind," he said trying to get up. "Thank you. What I wish I had though was a way to stand without falling."

Pilar picked up a stool and held the end out to him. "Grab on, I will pull you up."

Sparky grabbed on.

Pilar pulled on the stool, lifting Sparky off his butt and to his feet, where he could more easily lean on the counter and remain upright. Assuming he did so, she would pick up his copper pole and hand it to him.

Sparky reached for his copper pipe and for brief second they both connected, if he was shocking her she made no sign of it. "Thank you, is there something i could help you with right now, are you looking for somone?"

Pilar felt the electricity flow through her and her eyes widened. She yelped and pulled her hand away. Had he done that on purpose? No, no, of course not, you're being paranoid, Pilar. "It's... fine. I can find him alone, thank you." She would remain closed to this stranger, for the time being. She turned and headed for the door. "Take care."

"Cause if your looking for a snake, he's not in Kelay," He spoke as she approached the door.

Pilar stopped by the door and looked back at him. There was more than one naga running around, but... "Where have you seen him?"

"I saw him in Cenril, he was chasing me, I got away, but he's not here, I can't see, sense his prescence within ten miles of here."

Cenril, huh? She wondered if she'd be able to find him in such a big city. "Thank you. I will search for him there. Farewell." At that, she hurried out the door and eastward. She had a low-down dirty snake to catch.
