RP:A Return to Normalcy

Faux Twilight Cavern

Svilfon looks around in a very conspiratorial fashion, before whispering to Satie, "Come here..."

Satoshi scoots a little closer, glances around, and closes the gap with a stealthy shuffle. "Hm~?"

Svilfon speaks in quiet tones, as if the very walls were spies ready to hear his proclamation. And in the circumstance, that could be well likely, "You must swear not to tell... Kirien." The wizard drops to a knee and extends his closed fist towards her. When he turns his hand up and unclenches his fist, there resting in his heavily scarred hand is a small stick of shimmering charcoal. It looks super sneaky, and in fact it is! For no matter how often you draw on peoples' faces with it, it would never grow smaller. "A gift, in repayment of the robes..." Yes, a sneaky stick of charcoal is even payment for badass cool fur-lined clothes. "Just don't use it to draw on me, eh?" He flashes her a wink.

Svilfon gave 1 Sneaky stick of charcoal to Satoshi.

Satoshi realizes the reason for Svilfon's furtiveness in that instant and promptly swipes the charcoal out of his hand to be secreted away in her sleeve. With someone like Kirien, the walls could have ears -and- eyes, something Satoshi isn't willing to take chances with. But once the sneaky little item is safely stowed, the kit flashes a grin. "Your face is safe from it, I promise. But I can't say the same about Bright Eye~." And, after a pause, she adds in a tiny whisper, "Or Kasyr~."

Satoshi is suicidal.

Svilfon is full of fangs and gaps as he flashes a bright smile at the mini-icicle, before she speaks her final words... "Uhhhhh...." is about all he can manage for a long time, before he gulps. "Your funeral, my lady queen. Just don't tell him where ya got it from." He winks again.

Satoshi returns the wink and adds a vulpine smirk for good measure. "As his wife, I'm the safest from his wrath. And I hold a secret weapon~," she says with believable confidence--whether it's feign or not is something she's not telling.

Svilfon looks up and down at the mini-queen and can't help but laugh. "I think your secret weapon is... less so now you're little. Cute only gets you so far."

Satoshi said to Svilfon, "I meant a different secret weapon~. I'm well equipped to handle him."

Svilfon flashes mini-Satie a 'you're crazy, probably why I like you' look, before grinning. "Piratical coterie? Does have nice ring to it."

Satoshi said, "Arrrrr."

Svilfon said, "Arrrrr!" Totes a wizard/pirate.

Svilfon said to Satoshi, "Once I've... fixed you... You'll need to give Emiur a call for me, too. I have a hankering to chat to him, as well as fulfil my promise of farmer's cows. *grins* Which, I should probably get back to... I think I almost have it... Though, those whiskers... They totally suit you! I think you should keep them." His way of saying he's not sure if he can get rid of them, and they do suit her. "I reckon so, anyway."

Satoshi's hand reflexively goes to the whiskers gracing her face, fingers tracing along them like they're tiny harp strings. Although the touch causes a sharp, eclectric tingle to course through her, Satoshi has grown fond of the silvery threads. "We'll see~. Reverse the first mishap, and then we can ponder the second, hm~?" Another furtive glance is sent around the cavern then, this one less playful and far more serious in nature. "And soon. We may have essentially declared war yesterday on the Leech."

Svilfon was nodding his head absently along with her, his mind focusing on where he can get a certain ingredient, until she speaks those last words. The wizard drops down to a cross-legged position, uncaring of the cold or the discomfort. It's more so he can properly look at Satoshi, anyway. "What?" There is a wealth of emotion in that single word, making it almost impossible to tell what the wizard thinks of such a proclamation.

Satoshi tries to look nonchalant about it by shrugging her shoulder, but the anxious chewing on her lower lip is a telling sign of different feelings. "It depends on how he responds to that fact that his little pet was killed yesterday." It hadn't been a pretty sight, Niawtu being electrocuted and reduced to a pile of ashes by the kensai's vindictive rage.

Svilfon doesn't bother trying to look nonchalant, nor does he hide the fact he noticed the queen was less than uncaring about it. "He... One of his... pets... was cured in your tavern by your warriors." Word had reached the wizard, it seems. "Another was killed by one of... us?" He is a Frostmawian, is Svil. There is a long time where the vampire doesn't speak, before slowly he nods. "Once again, lady of snow and ice, lines in the sand have been drawn. Frostmaw could not be free forever. What is done is done, for good or ill, and we are prepared." He tips his hat to her and offers a crooked grin, "You have my wand, lady queen. It's about time he was squished, anyway."

Satoshi said, "Frostmaw has prepared for this. It was inevitable. And Frostmaw won't fall. Not with all of us behind her. But..." She glances down at her feet then before looking back up with a sheepish grin. "If he must be squished, I'd prefer a bigger heel to do so with, y'know?"

Svilfon nods his head, "You're not allergic to deadly nightshade, are you?"

Satoshi ponders that a moment until she finally shakes her head slowly. "I don't believe so. And well... that's where vampirism comes in handy, eh? Poisons and whatnot."

Svilfon grins, "If you want, then, follow me." He gets to his feet and prepares to walk off, before turning and dropping down to one knee. Despite it all, he cannot resist giving mini-Satie one more hug. She was too adorable. But with that soon done, and a small grin sent her way, he prepares to cross over into the library. "I had to..." Is the only explanation he gives for the hug.

Satoshi has gotten used to the hugs. Even her stoic bodyguard Tharn had crumbled and nearly crushed her in a giant's equivalent of a bear-hug. Her ribs still ache from that experience, but nonetheless she tails along behind the wizard's robes.

=Library of Arcane Knowledge

Svilfon dropped 1 cast-iron cauldron. Svilfon dropped 1 black feather. Svilfon dropped 1 deadly nightshade. Svilfon dropped 1 pixie dust. Svilfon dropped 1 rainbow-o-fun liquid. Svilfon dropped 1 rozota flower petal. Svilfon dropped 1 bat-wings. Svilfon dropped 1 eye-of-newt. Svilfon dropped 1 dead fish.

Svilfon wanders quickly into the library, not even bothering with his usual hat-tips to the servants. There, in the middle of the room, is a cold cast-iron cauldron, and set on various tables around it is a mixture of ingredients the wizard had procured. He would have liked a few different ones, if truth was to be told, but the addition of deadly nightshade and the hope Satoshi's constitution could handle the insidious poison would have to be substitute for the missing things. The deceased wizard waves his hand and speaks a quiet word. Usually this would cause a fire to burn into life beneath the cauldron, but with his magics depleted, and still sore from yesterday's little tussle, the word only makes a thin tendril of smoke appear. With a muttered curse about Sven's balls, the wizard goes through a more lengthy series of chants while moving his hands around in archaic patterns. It takes a moment or two, but soon enough there is a fire beneath the large cauldron. With that done, and a few more quiet curses, the wizard prepares to tip in items. He has no book to go from, this potion was his own... Let's hope it bloody works!

Satoshi watches, waits, and hopes. Most especially hopes, because despite the strokes to her ego she's gotten for being so 'cute', the fact that she's half the size of most and on eye level with her crittery servants is starting to put her ill at ease. Silently she pads over to stand beside the wizard, raising herself on tip-toes to peer over the top of the worktable and spy the variety of ingredients he's gathered. At least they don't seem as foul as the ones she'd used...

Svilfon looks at Satoshi for just a moment, before he leans over and plucks out one of her hairs. An apology is half offered, before he drops it into the cauldron, filled as it is with now bubbling Enchantment water. Working with alarming speed, and all the while singing his favorite pirate song for rhythm, he begins to make his own blend of potion. He drops in the eye of newt with the dead fish; a hissing noise comes from the pot. It sounds ominious. But he carries on. Picking up the bat wings he tosses them into the air above the mixture, before scooping up a handful of pixie dust and blowing through it. The wings fall into the sparkling dust, collecting just the right amount before settling into the growing mixture. The ebon feather, darker than the night sky, plucked from a live raven, is dipped into the rainbow-o-fun liquid. He holds it for the count of five, before pulling out a multi-hued feather. This is inspected, before it's tossed into the mix. Hisses of smoke begin to bubble from the growing mass, and an odd stench almost like apples filles the library. But the wizard ignores it all. For this is the most important part. He lifts the rozota flower petal carefully, and slowly unfolds it. It has been used to wrap up the deadly nightshade, to ensure it lost none of its potency during the trips through Frostmaw, and here in the frigid library. With a whispered prayer to lady fortune, the deceased wizard leans his hand over the mix and pours in the poison, before dropping the flower petal onto the now black water. There a moment of silence, before a noise akin to the groans of the damned rings through the shelves, disturbing any who would hear it. Any aside from the wizard, who in an exhaused voice proclaims, "A moment or two to let it settle... I think it's.. done."

Satoshi shrinks nearer to the wizard at those groans but swiftly recovers herself before he can glance her way, for the sake of not acting like a child despite appearances. Instead she pulls herself higher to steal a peek into the cauldron, eyeing the concoction within. "You think so? Let's try it then, hm~?" After all, what's the worst that could happen? He'd already promised no toadstools.

Svilfon is too tired to even laugh at her fine proclamation, instead he merely nods before picking up a clear potion vial. In a very fastidious motion fills it with the liquid, ensuring none of it touches his hand, and when the vial is almost full he scoops in that floating petal. Lifting it before his eyes he inspects it; it was black and faintly bubbling. He thinks that's what it should look like. "What's the worst that could happen," he says in a quiet whisper, before offering the vial to the mini-Satie. "Drink it all in one go." He grins, then. "And let's see what happens!"

Satoshi holds the vial up to the light to inspect it herself. Obviously she has no idea what she's looking for, but she can at least play the role of careful calculator. Still, even when she's peered at it as closely as possible without pressing it to her face, Satoshi can't help sending the cauldron a forlorn look. "Where's that little tree from before? I'm sure it's thirsty too." Yes, the queen of ice is getting cold feet, but who can blame her when she's already provoked the wrath of two potions in under a week.

Svilfon blinks in feigned offence, "You do not trust me, lady queen?" He tries not to look at her whiskers when he says this.

Satoshi isn't sure how well that works out for Svilfon, considering she's twitching said whiskers at him as a visual reminder of the last blind drinking. "I didn't say -that-~. I'm simply being selfless and offering the cure to the dear tree first. It deserves to be a proper table again, no?"

Svilfon drops down to one knee and grins at the mini-Satie. "Kirien took it." He does his best not to sound too happy about that. "All we have is you to try it on, lady queen." He reaches out and just briefly touches her shoulder. "Drink it, Satoshi. Think of your reputation! The fearless queen of ice, laughing in the face of terror!" He nods his head, "We all know how brave you are." Coaxing, maybe not his strong point.

Satoshi straightens up under those words. He's right! Her reputation is on the line here! Is she not the petite queen of the warsome Frost Giants? Hadn't she faced countless dragons in single combat for the sake of boredom? And hadn't she said 'I do' to Kasyr Azakhaer without having a dagger held to her throat? Damn right she's fearless! Without another word Satoshi downs the vial, drinking every last drop along with the petal. And then... she waits, blinking. No explosions or smoke this time..?

Svilfon likes the determination that flashes in her eyes before she downs the liquid in one go, petal and all. He nods slowly, before whispering the words of a spell to accompany the drinking. It doesn't take long, nor is it complicated, but when done the wizard claps his hands, ignoring the pain from his recently mutilated one, and closes his eyes. Around Satoshi, just briefly there'd be a blinding flash of light, followed by a globe of darkness much like what the drow cast. It'd only last a heartbeat, if either of them had that luxury, before the library would settle back to its normal light. Only then would Svil open an eye and look over at the snow queen, rather interested to see her fate...

Satoshi sways where she stands, eyes unfocused and likely seeing spots from the rapid display of light and dark. Her mind may be whirling, her balance may be dangling by a thread, and her stomach may feel like she's just been dragged through a thousand teleportations, but the kit once more stands at her former height--or near enough, although she's missing an inch or two. Eyes blink in rapid succession to rid herself of the worst blurring, and once she can see, Satoshi gasps. The wizard isn't towering over her anymore! That must mean, "I-it worked~!" Mostly, at least, as those whiskers still quiver elegantly upon her face. With a laugh of delight, the magus moves forward to tug Svilfon into a one-armed hug and dance about in a circle. "You did it, you did it~!"

Svilfon is enveloped in a regular-sized-Satie hug, and soon danced about. He chuckles his amusement, "I told you I'd do it!" He doesn't make mention that her whiskers are still there, or maybe she's a touch smaller than she once was. Because damnit!- his potion worked! When finally more calm he holds Satoshi back to arms length and spends a few moments looking her up and down, just to be sure she hasn't grown any new accessories. He peers over her shoulder, yup, only four tails, before looking back at her face and nodding his head. "Looking as foxy as ever, lady queen... Though, I will miss mini-Satie a little. You were a cute one when you were little... and still are!", he hastily adds. For safety's sake.

Satoshi beams, positively delighted to be back to her more formidable--but still equally adorable--self. No more hair-ruffles or bear-hugs for her, except from Kasyr and Kirien obviously. Svilfon's comments earn him a playfully haughty flip of her hair and a scoff. "Well, of -course- I still am. A sproutling is plenty cute, but a frost-rose is that and more once it's grown~." Laughter follows the vain remark, until Satoshi's features take on a somber set. A moment is spared to give herself a once over to, like Svilfon, ensure all is as it should be--plus whiskers. Once done, she fixes the wizard with a piercing look, her amber flecks alight with silent gratitude. "This game of favors owed is getting tricky to keep track of, you know."

Svilfon rolls his eyes at the ever-vain queen, and though it's clear he is exhausted by the process, her obvious delight is a prize far exceeding the price. "Too right, lady icicle." A half smile is tossed in with a wink, before he speaks in somewhat serious tones, "We will settle it once we've squished the bug, lady queen. Something easier for you to do now." He grins at her; the silent gratitude both noted and appreciated; all that was needed between the two.

Satoshi said to Svilfon, "It would have been difficult with you, wizard~." Reaching up for her customary tug on his hat, she pauses and instead pushes the brim back slightly to better peer at his face without the obscuring shadows. "You should rest. You look dead on your feet. ...well, dead-er-.... you know what I mean!"

Svilfon grins at Satoshi. "It's been a long few days, Satie queen. But at least you're back to normal." He grins again, before looking behind her. "Your servants can get rid of the cauldron.. Just make sure none of them touch the liquid. For me, a rest, food, then I gotta find that bloody goat of mine!"

Satoshi nods and takes a step back, a ghost of a smile present for the wizard. "You do that. And when you find that goat, let me know. I've an idea of a place where you two would fit right in~."

Svilfon tips his hat to the snow queen. "I will, lady. Go, show off your new whiskers and your returned height. For me, a sleep in here sounds too good to refuse. Fare well, lady icicle." He tips his hat again. He was too tired to enquire about where he'd fit right in, but it was stored away and he would be sure to ask when the two next meet.

Satoshi departs then, keeping her promise not to draw on his face while he sleeps, even if that new piece of charcoal sits like a boulder in her sleeve just begging to be put to mischievous use.

Svilfon makes his way to his favorite chair and is soon fast asleep; hoping she adheres to her promise! Or doesn't bring in Kiri. Though, with a face like he has, what more could be done to it?
