RP:A New Bridge

From HollowWiki

Location: The Devastated Cenril-Kelay Bridge

Nemisis is walking along the road dancing to a tune he is humming. A small snap of the fingers here and a back step there can be seen, supposedly on rhythm. Inside his head Spree is singing rather loudly, pissing off the rest of the personas except Joy who seems to be singing with him. Honor is glaring furiously at the persona, slowly reiterating, “Shut up…..shut up…..” it was pretty obvious when he finally had and screamed, “SHUT UP ALREADY!” This caused a momentary pause in the Spree’s song to say, “Hmmm? Hmph! I don’t say anything when you are walking about in your stupid grasslands doing absolutely nothing! Pssht! Waste of time!” Honor growls, “But yea….I not singing out loud for everyone to be annoyed!” Intelligence interjects and says, “Yes, Spree you are quite annoying. We really don’t want to hear your voice.” Spree simply responds to both of them by tossing his nose in the air and saying, “You guys are just jealous you cannot perform something as beautiful and as eloquent as I!” Intelligence sighs and says to Honor, “He split from you…” Honor snaps back, “Shut it!” As all this arguing continues on the outside, the draconian is slowly approaching the broken bridge of Cenril, too wrapped up in himself to really pay attention about his surroundings that don’t involve him or how he looks.

Ranok is inspecting the bridge, it seems. He's close to the edge, but has a hand firmly planted so he couldn't be shoved off. A piece of stone is in his hand. He presumably chunked it off the very structure on which he stands. The hole, not being repaired, is steadily getting larger. A young boy, no more in his mid teens, hovers behind Ranok's shoulder looking nervous. Ranok seems to be thinking when what only can be an insane draconian comes along, yelling to himself. An eyebrow quirks. He stands up straight and steps away from the gap. Traffic, clogged as it is usually, doesn't seem to be bad this time of day. Of course, the hole in the bridge has just worsened matters. And the fact that no body has cleaned up the mess from whatever happened...? Sloppy.

Korike had been walking from the opposite direction in Cenril, the bones on his robe clacking together. The gnome then stops to look around with his swirling black eyes, at the badly damaged bridge in front of him. "Someone should fix this, or there's bound to be an accident." he thought to himself.

Fenris happened to be following the odd draconian for awhile, not to be stalking or anything just it was on the same road towards Cenril. Slit optics staying on the male's form in quite a bit question, starting to gain some speed in order to pass him up quickly, it was interesting for awhile but...It was time to slither onward. Soon as Fenris does pass up Nemisis a glance back was given, little did he know of that large hole within the bridge itself. After a moment his eyes snap forward and not a second too soon as he comes an inch from falling into said hole. "....Ssssomeonesss gonna get killed!" He hissed moving back to gain some space between him and the death trap of a hole...

Nemisis was still singing out loud again as Fenris slithered past him, he cared not for the man to be honest, rather Spree did not. Half step, slide to the left, and then a spin were given as he continued to walk up towards the bridge. Ronak and Kessien were given no attention from far away. However, they were in his way and it caused the draconian to halt in both movement and song. Two ruby red eyes stared at them muttering as he observed their outer appearance. Standing there with crossed arms he said, “No sense of fashion what so ever….hmph! The clothes are rather ugly and tacky.” His eyes shift from one to the next, “Obviously the older one taught the younger one how to dress.” The man gave a pitiful shake of the head, so wrapped up in their lack of style he fails to notice the bridge as of yet. Turning, he notices Fenris next who seems to be paying attention to the bridge as well, “Pssht, a naga. Pity you guys really don’t clothes. Meh…” A flicker of the hand brushed the man off. Still, he does not see the hole, and has yet to move. However, he does see Korike, whom he already diagnosed countless times before and gave him a pass because he was a gnome. Spree found that all gnomes has no sense of fashion or style. A wave was given to him/was still singing out loud again as Fenris slithered past him, he cared not for the man to be honest, rather Spree did not. Half step, slide to the left, and then a spin were given as he continued to walk up towards the bridge. Ronak and Kessien were given no attention from far away. Spree found that all gnomes has no sense of fashion or style. A wave was given to him, ”Hello there Korike! How are ya?”

Ranok tosses the rock in his hand down the gap to splash in the water below. To Nemisis he pays absolutely no mind. His attention is mostly focused on the bridge, though one gets the sense that Ranok is paying more attention to his surroundings with half an eye then most people do with two. Kessien, on the other hand, looks nervous so close to the hole. Too young to really get his wing strength up, he wouldn't have much flying under his belt if any. Ranok rubs his chin and makes a slight 'back up' gesture to Kess.

Korike nods to the draconian. "I'm doing well Nem, and yourself?" he asks, before glancing around at the others.

Nemisis tossed his mouth from side to side before saying, “We’re okay. However, these terribly, terribly dressed people are in our way…” The man indicates Ranok and Kessien with a point and a nose within the air, “We don’t even know why they are just sitting in the middle of the street! Like what the hell are they –“ The demi cuts his sentence short as he finally notices the gaping hole in the middle of the bridge. Spree has never seen this hole before, mainly for the fact that he is not the persona in control of Nemisis when they pass the bridge and that he usually flies or find other means of entering the city. Almost immediately, the man’s eyes open wide eyed and just glares at the hole, bending backwards and pointing down at it while slowly fuming with anger. In all actuality, the man was looking down on the bridge’s imperfection so hard that he is looking up. From there, he just falls silent, stuck in that pose.

Ranok rolls his eyes, turning his head slightly to Kess, "Learn vell, boy. Dat iz vat a man vo iz insane looks like. Don' vorry. Dey're generally hermless."

Korike giggles a bit at Ranok's comment, before looking back at Nemisis. "Uh...are you alright, Nem?" The gnome asks, while starting to approach him.

Nemisis still did not say anything for a good few minutes. Slowly the chaotic aura about him began to make itself known, creeping about his form as he finally spoke, “This…..this….THIS IS A LANDMARK! A BRIDGE TO A CITY! THE FIRST THING A PERSON SEES WHEN THEY WALK UP TO A CITY! A GREETINGS, LIKE AN EXTENDED HAND! AND NOW THEY HAND IS DIRTY! A PERMENANENT UGLY HAND! THIS! THIS! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!” Without warning the draconian’s hand clenched into a fist and he snapped up and forward, driving his fist into the already damaged bridge. Trails of chaotic energy ripping through the cracks caused by sheer force and causing them to extend further. Old scars on the bridge also flare and spew forth the relentless energy as it rips apart the bridge from one end to another like a vein. Spree had no regard for anyone standing on the bridge. The bridge was ugly and permanent, it must be destroyed. In mere seconds, everything began to fall and collapse under the force of the chaotic punch, causing debris, rock, and dirt to fly everywhere. Inside his head, Intelligence was turning the bolt in his head before he chuckled and said to Spree, “Isn’t that a bit much? You could’ve simply repaired the hole instead of destroying the entire bridge.” Spree simply responded and said, “Hmph! A leave an ugly scar in the middle of the bridge? I think not!” Intelligence understood what Spree was about, and in that persona’s logic, he made logical sense and couldn’t argue. Without anything else to say, he simply shrugged.

Ranok falls, as he was staning close to the edge of the hole. Luckily, Kessien was clear as he obeyed Ranok's order. As for the man himself, he reacts quicker then he should, somehow. Managing to whip a grappling hook out of seemingly nowhere it flings out, wraps around the outlying beam, and is secure. Ranok's fall gets halted, but it is far from happy, "Hyu modderfooker hed betta run fast, because ven Hy katch hyu Hy'm gunna pummel hyu so herd you grundchildren vill feel it!" Ranok is a wise, wise man. He always knows where his towel is and has a grappling hook at the ready for any situation.

Korike goes wide-eyed at seeing Nem punch the bridge. As he sees the bridge begin to crumble around him, the gnome sinks into his shadow, only to pop back up on the other side of it, opposite of Nemisis. "Well that was close." he says, grinning.

Nemisis is still standing in the exact same place where he slammed his punch as the dust and debris settles and falls into the sea below. Even without his wings, he could fly, and that was exactly what he was doing. The man really did not like to reveal his wings. If it wasn’t for his tail, he would even be mistaken for human. As he stood there, he heard Ranok rambling and cursing, only to respond back with his own shouting, “Oh shut up! You’re fashion sense is too ugly to even talk to us, hmph! This bridge was ugly! It needed to be destroyed and rebuilt! Scars are imperfections in beauty and it shall not be allowed on what is supposed to be an entrance to a city! And you’re probably too weak to even harm us anyway! Pfft, probably pull off some ugly move with no form!” Dismissing the blacksmith with that sentence, he looked towards Korike and said, “We are going to rebuild this bridge from the ground up.” Walking over towards solid ground, he busies himself by starting to carve into the ground.

Korike nods to Nemisis. "Alright. Shall I drum up an undead work force?" he asks, grinning.

Ranok hauls himself up hand over hand. He doesn't seem to be having any trouble doing so, despite all his armor and pack. This must mean he has phenomenal upper body strength. Soon he reaches the anchor where the hook is attached. He unhooks it, gathers the hook back up and secures it to his belt, and climbs up the rest of the way back onto the bridge proper. As he does, he mutters to himself, "Yeah, yeah, Fairy Princess. Hyu hed betta hope dat Kess iz alright or Hy'll introduce hyu to an entirely nev vorld uf pain..." Thankfully, Kess is unharmed, even by flying debris. Some passerby aren't even close to as lucky, and are nursing moderate to serious wounds. At least one fell to his death.

Nemisis stops briefly before looking over to Ranok and shouting, "Yea yea yea! You two cannot do anything worst to us than what we have been through! And at least we look good!" As he continued to carve into the ground, he says to Korike, “Yes. We’re going to fetch some materials for the rebuild.”

Ranok faces Nemisis and plants his feet. He's on the opposite side of the now ruined bridge. The entire thing isn't gone, being too big for a single man to punch through, no matter how chaotically enhanced. He faces Kess for a moment, "Boy, get. Find zumplace safe for now. Hy vill need a bit uf schpace. Help zumone along if hyu kan." Kess looks terrified, but nods. He helps a woman up and evacuate the bridge. Ranok inspects the bridge a moment. It seems stable enough. Though it would be for long, as arch bridges tend to give out when their center is taken away. He shouts back at Nemisis, "How about hyu kome down und tell dat hyu my face, Fairy Princess!"

Korike nods and crouches down. The gnome then places his palm on the ground, before muttering a quick chant. On his and the draconian's side of the bridge...undead of various stages of decay, start to rise out of the shadows.

Nemisis finally finished carving into the ground, a glyph connected towards the Phantasmal Knights headquarters, specifically its lumberyard. With the incantation only known to mostly its members, the builders of the clan can quickly transport and receive materials, quite useful especially in dangerous and far places. Placing his hand in the center of the glyph, it would glow a bright green before bars of metal, stacks of stone, wood, and other building materials phases into view. As Korike’s undead begin to arise from the deep shadows, a good working force slowly begins to form. Standing up and dusting himself off, he looks towards Ranok once more before saying, “Pfft! Why should we even bother with you!? This bridge is more important than you are! Besides, you can’t even make it across this bridge. You think you stand a chance against us you peon?” Laughter arises before the demi repeated, “Peon! Yes, that shall be your name! Now then…” Slowly he begins to access the area before forming a design in his head. Looking towards Korike he says, “We think we should make the bridge wood red with a forest green finish.”

Ranok nods. He figured. In a few seconds, the grappling hook is in his hands again. A single swing to build up all the momentum he needs and let's loose. The hook flies clear over the gap and directly at Nemisis. As the man is flapping his gums at Kiri, he's probably not paying attention. Ranok makes no sound, save for a single grunt as the line goes out. Much too late to begin a reaction then to avoid the heavy hook. If Nemisis is snagged, Ranok yanks him, hard. With all the strength that allowed him to bare up his at least double his own weight in a dead lift and a byproduct of swinging a hammer for hours on end. If not, then the hook goes snapping back to be gathered into Ranok's hand. Kess is by now long gone, into the city.

Korike snaps his fingers, and points to the building materials. His undead obediently shuffle off, to start picking up the materials.

Nemisis was definitely talking to Korike when Ranok threw the grappling hook at him. However, he turned around just in time to see the grappling hook fly towards him. A small grin appears across his face as the hook is caught mere centimeters from his face. He would not allow such a menial thing damage his features. Upon grasping it, he realized the hook had some weight to it, slowly analyzing the Ranok’s strength. As a tug is given, instead of fighting it, he simply goes along with it, using the force to fly towards Ranok. At the same time, he sends the chaotic energy through the rope and watches as it quickly begins to crystallize it. All the while with the other hand, he forms a small sparkling energy ball that he thrusts forward with a downward punch, preparing to smash the man and blow up the area around him in a bright beautiful flash.

Ranok is no fool. Nemisis made the mistake of grabbing and being pulled along. The whip comes out, Ranok moving ungodly fast. He was in the perfect posture, hand at his hip thanks to tugging. A simple matter of releasing, grabbing the whip literally next to his hand, and extending his arm again., dancing back with an enormous leap. It flicks, grabs a good piece of stone, flash freezing it thanks to the magical whip's nature, and flicks back out. Had the whip not been magical, this sort of precision could have never have been accomplished. The rock is well aimed... Right into Nemisis's trajectory. "Hef a present for hyu, Fairy Princess!" All in all, Ranok has side stepped as well. Nemisis has to make a choice: Hit Ranok and take a rock to the face or miss completely and not be hit.

Nemisis watches closely as Ranok reaches for whip as he nears towards him. By now the grappling hook was already eaten up by his energy, crystallized, and starting to shatter. Attentive eyes follow the whip as it passes by him and reach for a stone after freezing and bring it towards his way. The demi slowly turns into a spin and lets go of the bright energy ball, letting it float in the air. With both hands free, he digs into the ground and redirects his body, ducking the solid block of ice as it zooms over his head. As for Ranok who side stepped out the way, he grins saying, “You need to be better than that.” With a snap of his fingers, the floating ball blows up, releasing a blinding light along with it destruction. The demi closes his eyes already knowing the blacksmith’s position. The shattered chaotic crystals slowly rise and are redirected for the blacksmith’s feet. The man’s intent was to pin his feet into the floor. The sharp needles should be more than enough of excruciating pain for him to deal with. With this all in place, he says, “Give it up! Like we said, this bridge is more important than you are peon!”

Ranok is on the constant move, in actuality. Where the crystals were aimed was where he was moments before. The whip recoils and lashes out again, slinging another rock while Nem's eyes are closed. The man will likely dodge, but this isn't a concern of Ranok's. The flash of light does send him reeling, only for a moment. His other senses work fine and he knows his positioning. The rock probably went awry, though. As he does all this, he shouts, with the expert lungs of a man able to speak over a raging forge, "Hyu didn' tink destroyink de bridge trough, Princess! It's now an even bigger blight on de lundscape! De rocks hef scarred de lundscape on both sides! Hyu'll never get reed uf de marks dey've left! Und Hy doubt hyu know how to build a bridge, boyo! Noddink dat vill schtund up to de elements for years to kome! Face it! You hend hes made a vorse mark on de beauty uf Kenril den dat hole ever deed!"

Nemisis stood up as the light died down. The whip did lash out with the rock, however the rock did go off course. Dusting himself off yet again he sighed and said, “You assume we don’t know how to build a bridge nor have the means, peon! You’re wrong.” A strong point was given to the materials on the other side of the bridge, “You see those materials over there? It can be rebuilt with that! And the earth can be smoothen out! We are not stupid! Now either you attempt to finish this fight here or deal with this bridge! Your call! Mind you, we have yet to become serious with your pissy whip and ice blocks!”

Ranok coils the whip again. His eyes are a dark gray and have completely cleared. He seems to have recovered with remarkable speed, almost like he's been through that sort of thing before. His feet plant themselves and give him an excellent center of gravity. Another rock is spied out for an ideal projectile, though nothing more then the whip being loose in his hands indicates what he's planning. Nemisis hadn't been doing all that well himself, only succeeding in landing an area attack, "I vas chust vaitink for hyu to schtop prancink around in de air, Princess." He doesn't look at the materials. He's thankful that the bridge has both held out as well as it is, and that it's suspended in the air. No summoning undead without dirt underfoot, "Hy em assumink dat hyu don' know how schtructural engineerink vorks, hyu fool. Hyu kan' chust pile rocks und kall it a vall!" Ranok keeps light on the balls of his feet. He's more then capable of dodging as Nemisis is, and isn't actually in the air to boot. Or isn't taking to the air. Hovering requires enormous energy, more then an hour of flight just for a scant handful of minutes doing so.

Nemisis scoffed at Ranok saying, “Obviously! What first needs to be done is apply a proper foundation. This bridge was made mostly out of stone. It needs to be rebuilt with metal as its skeletal frame and rock as its outer skin.” The demi surely does not drop his guard down as he walks towards the edge of one side of the bridge and says, “These jagged corners can be smoothened out with heat. Once the foundations are in place, a temporary cast can be put in place to reconnect the sides while the permanent one is set in. Once that is done, the new bridge will be melted in with the edges of the old, effectively making it stable. Then the railings will be placed in afterwards.” After this is said, he turns to look at Ranok as if this all was obvious.

Ranok decides to try something, on a hunch, given Nem's reactions to the 'unclean bridge', "Hey, Princess! Hyu're lookink a liddle dirty. SCHtone dust hall over hyu. Kloddes out uf order! Onkempt! Oh, my. Iz dat...vy, yah it iz. A rip in you pants!"

Nemisis eyes widen and his head snaps down to look at his clothes already starting to dust himself off, “Hmm? It is a bit dusty, but nothing that can’t be changed with a little water.” His body slowly begins to twist around looking for the rip, “A rip!? Where!?” Once he realized it was a joke, he turns and sneers at the man, “Hmph! Harr Harr!” The demi did find himself to be dirty however. A shower was definitely the next thing that would occur after the bridge was rebuilt.

Ranok doesn't take advantage of the distraction, though with his speed and accuracy, the fight could be over then and there, as the distance between the two has lessened to the point where the whip might be able to hit with a good lunge on Ranok's part, "Right dere hyu vere dead, Princess. Hy kould hef hed a schtone lodged in you skull. How about hyu schtop you prancink und Hy schtop messink around und ve valk avay from dis?"

Nemisis raised a brow at Ranok before saying, "You obviously don't know who are dealing with, but that doesn't matter at this point. We guess ignorance is a bliss. Like we said, we have no time to deal with you. This bridge is more important. Now would you like to make some money? It seems like the only way you'll be useful here."

Ranok doesn't rise to the glib. Ignorance can cut both ways, after all. He snorts. His weapon is still held mostly ready and so is his body, but he doesn't make an attempt to attack, "Vat, you ondead army hain't enough grunts for hyu, Princess?"

Nemisis sighs and says, "They are undead. You have to tell them everything. They lack common sense. And you're standing here complaining about the bridge as well so we figured you'd make more use helping out rather than yapping."

Ranok growls, "Dat iz you problem, not mine. Hyu nearly kill me. Hyu almost hermed my boy. Und hyu hurt und killed more den vun person. Vere do hyu get uff askink me for help, hennyvays?"

Nemisis rolls his eyes and says, "Answer the bloody question. We really don't feel like doing this back and forth with you."

Ranok shrugs stepping closer to the edge of the bridge, keeping his front towards Nemisis, "Den de ansver iz no. Hyu attacked me. Und hyu seem sure uf youself, so Hy'm sure hyu kan hendle it, Princess."

Nemisis sighs before vanishing from his spot and reappearing at the other side of the bridge, muttering about useless people. Grabbing a rather large beam of melt, he displays his strength. Walking towards the edge of the bridge, he falls off and into the water. As he sinks to the bottom, the weight of the beam finds itself a secure spot within the ground. His hands glow bright, causing steams of bubbles to rise to the top as he slowly aims a ray of heat at the beam. As the metal melts, it molds only the rock which also begins to metal under the extreme heat. As he properly melts all sides while holding his breathe, he rises to the top of the water, breathing once more. Not wasting anytime, he flies back up and reaches for another beam, almost completely ignoring Ranok at this point.

Nemisis jumps right down into the water with the next beam, performing the same task before rising back up. Looking towards the undead workers now he says, "You see the distance between those two beams? Continue the path until it reaches the other side. Make four rows of these." He then began splitting the workers into groups and watched slowly as started to follow the orders given. The demi himself picked up another beam and helped.

Ranok snorts and looks over the edge. He can see where Nemisis got his ideas, but metal does not equal strength. Balances must be done. Weights measured, stresses taken. If he doesn't stop the fool from making a mistake now, more people will be killed later when the bridge just collapses from stress then died today.

Nemisis rises out of the water and flew back at the top as he heard Ranok's words, "What are you talking about?"

Ranok snaps, "Hy know metal. Hy know how it behefs. Und Hy know schtone. But not as vell as metal. It's like hyu don' even tink. First, utterly destroyink de bridge in de most destructiff vay possible. Den hyu go und schtick iron in vater. Vater! It vill rust in 6 mondds und schnap onder de schtrain." Ranok shakes his head, "Tink uf every bridge hyu've ever seen. SCHtrain dat brain, Princess. Hef hyu ever seen a bridge rooted vith iron beams? No? Den vy de fook are hyu doink it here?! A simple flyink bridge vould solff de problem betta den you asinine konstruction!" Ranok points at the bridge next in the chain. A flying stone bridge, as he said. A simple arch, with no pillars sunk into the ground. Shoreline to shoreline. Such things can stand for hundreds of years, and have. He gives Nemisis a look like a teacher would give a particularly stupid child. However, he says nothing.

Nemisis did not say anything to Ranok just yet, inside his head Intelligence was nodding his head saying, "He's right Spree." The persona turned around with a blushed expression and shouted, "Why didn't you tell me?!" Intelligence simply said, "Because you're a brat and think you know it all." The persona slowly fumed before turning back to the outside. The draconian turned to look at the undead before halting them. Looking back at Ranok, he turned red with embarassment before saying, "You're right...." With that, he dove back down into the water and slowly began to undo his work.

Ranok mutters and takes out a piece of paper stuck in a pocket. On it he draws with a bit of charcoal, now mostly broken, both artifacts from the days he couldn't speak Common in any way. He etches out a crude schematic, speaking as he does so, " Hyu vill tear hall uf dis down. SCHtart from scratch. De veakest part in a chain iz vere it konnects. Velds are inferior to voles. Replicatink dis bridge's former design vill be difficult. But hyu're a schmot guy, hyu'll get it eventually. Support beem here. De attachment to de schorelines here und here. De schtone must be dis tick. No tinner. No ticker. Too much vill make it fall und too liddle makes it veak. De vole bridge must be dis vide so traffic kan flow. Do hyu follow, Princess?" As he speaks, 'here', 'this', and the others are punctuated with a unit of rough measure. Not exactly difficult to replicate, given that the ruined bridge that he's attempting to copy sill mostly stands.

Nemisis looked at the paper Ranok was showing him trying to follow as fast as possible. Inside his head Intelligence and the others are just chuckling to each other knowing Spree is surely being overwhelmed. Turning around, the persona says to the others, "Stop laughing and help me out here!" Intelligence shook his head, "Nope. This is payback for the singing." Spree continued to fume. He was stuck either way and had to swallow his pride one way or another. He had to live with the personas, so he chose the latter. On the outside he says to Ranok, "Alright we're sorry! Could you please help on rebuilding this bridge?" This almost tore the persona apart, making him have to swallow his pride.

Ranok gives Nem half of a glance, "Vat do hyu tink Hy em doink? It iz obvious dat hyu hef no idea vat hyu are doink. If ve're gunna rebuild dis bridge, den ve're gunna do it properly."

Nemisis nods before saying, "Okay." Look back at the broken bridge, he placed his hands on the ground and focused. That chaotic aura of his slowly began to appear once again, causing sparks to trickle from his hands into the floor. Slowly a crystal cast began to stretch out from one end of the bridge to another in the shap of the finished product except with an open top. This cast would allow easier mobility and placement of the stones. Standing up he looks at Ranok, "This should help with the placement of things."

Ranok makes as if to give Nemisis a clap upside the head, "Are hyu listenink to me, boy?! Follow my directions. First ve must tear vat remains uf de old bridge down."

Nemisis dips his head forward, dodging the slap upside his head. He would react to it, but he still needed the blacksmith’s help since Intelligence wouldn’t. The personas were still laughing. Placing his hands back on the floor, the remains of the old bridge slowly began to become devour by the crystal, breaking away the top and readjusting the size of the cast, “Better?”

Ranok grunts, "Schlightly. De ondead do not need it, und Hy don'. But vatever makes hyu feel betta. After de previous bridge iz removed, hef you ondead make scaffoldink in dis manner." He points to another drawing. He doesn't mention that Nemisis is in Ranok's element, now. Just as Nem would no doubt refuse to tolerate a student making demands or assumptions on how to cast or direct chaos, Ranok

Nemisis simply inhales deeply before reabsorbing the entire crystal bridge. The cast slowly begins to shimmer and goes through the phases of matter, from a solid, to a gel, to pure energy, returning to its master to be recycled. Standing up and looking at the piece of paper once more, he points over to a group of the undead and orders them to get to work with the scaffold. He then grabs the other piece of paper and makes sure the other groups have the next set of materials ready for the next phase. Turning to Ranok he asks, “Now what?”

Ranok said to you, "Hyu make de arches dat vill form de sides uf de bridge. Vunce de scaffoldink iz komplete hyu kan get you zombies to schtart dat. Hy hope dey know how to mix mortar properly, or else everyddink ve do here iz pointless."

Nemisis slowly begins to lift off his feet and float over to his zombies once more before he starts making the arches. As he passes by he sees one of the undead workers placing a piece of wood in the wrong place, “Oi! Over there not there!” Sighing, he then goes over to the wheel barrow and says to one zombie, “You just keep turning this here.” As the empty borrow begins to spin, he adds three parts of beach sand and one part of masonry cement. Taking two buckets, he hands them to the workers and says, “You two go get some water and pour into this barrow and then go get more water. Once the water is no longer a puddle, pour in another bucket. Once that water is gone as well, add the next.” Internally Spree was growling at all this work. Intelligence, Honor, and the rest were having a field day with this turn of events. They had unexpectedly found some entertainment. Still floating about, he grabbed a few more materials and began forming the sides of the bridge. Quietly outside, he was grumbling.

Ranok ignores the mortar mixture. If the stones are well cut enough and placed tightly and with proper attention to their placement forgos the need for mortar. But every little bit helps. He gives an undead a dope slap, despite the fact that it doesn't do anything as its just a mindless creature. Still, the thing was holding the stone upside down. Ranok looks grim. This was going to take longer then he would have liked. "Kan' be helped, Hy suppose.". He immediately goes off to another group on the opposite side of the scaffolding, moving like a monkey among the trees. He keeps the undead that he can in line and working properly. A task that would tax even a saint's patience, but he manages.

Nemisis continues to build the sides of the new bridge block by block, making sure each side fits in perfectly and is secure. Just in case, he slowly melts some crucial pieces to together before moving over to the next the side and begins to make those sides. Flying surely does make things easier. Shouting over to Ranok he says, “Yo, this is almost done! What’s next?”

Ranok points at the ruined support. It would need to be raised and braced before the scaffolding could ever come off or the road itself built.

Nemisis growls before quickly flying over to the undead working on the scaffold cursing, “Oi! Not like that you bumbling idiots! You put this here! And that there!” As he quickly begin to fix the foundation of the scaffold, it starts to tip over. His tail whips out and swiftly curls around the structure, holding it in place until he can properly stabilize it himself, “We should’ve just called out the regular builders for this mess instead of the mindless buffoons….” However, the main reason he didn’t do such in the first place is because he knew how hard they usually work. They needed a break.

Ranok shouts back at Nemisis, on a much more sturdy bit of scaffolding, "A bit late now for second toughts, Princess! Schould hef tought it trough before rippink a giant hole in a veakened schtructure in de first place! Now no more belly achink! Get dat support beem up!"

Nemisis growled back, "We ain't bellyaching! This bridge was coming down one way or another! There no regrets on that!" Just as he finished placing in the last brick, he looks at the group that was working on the beam. They actually seemed to have gotten things right compared to the others. With the beam finished, he grabs it and starts attaching it to the bridge. As he started on that process he ordered the group to start on the next beam. Having one of the minions fetch some mortar and began filling in the cracks to make sure everything is sealed in place.

Ranok monkey's over the scaffolding, checking ties and braces. They seem stronger then he had assumed that they were. "Get vat hyu pay for! Und since dese guys vere free, gettink hennyddink outta 'em iz betta den vat hyu kould ask for." He kicks an undead in the back, "Tighter! Make de brace tighter. Hy svear, cheeldren vould be betta here."

Nemisis shook his head as he grabbed another support beam and continued sealing them in place. Little did he know about the resources the man had at hand. He was mostly stuck doing most of the dirty work because of Spree, despite having builders on call. But the man's demeanor tended to be highly decieving amongst the personas, such being his nature. Looking up once more, he realized the entire thing is starting to come together.

Ranok perches himself on the completed arch of the left side of the bridge. He points down to the jagged edges that protrude out from the bottom. What seemed to be sloppy design has an actual purpose, "Now attached de base uf de road to de edges dere. SCHtart from de schore to de opposite side."

Nemisis was just finishing up the last side before climbing back up the the top. Stepping on the the arch on the right side of the bridge, he tests its sturdiness; nice and strong. Looking at what seems to be the last piece and what most of the zombies were working on, he cracks his knuckles before ordering them to lift it all up at once. With all undead arms raised, he swiftly got under and took the load from them; decaying arms barely have any muscle on them afterall. Flying over to the incomplete bridge carefully, he sets it in and says, "Okay, seal the sides while we hold it in place."

Ranok said, "Vunce de base iz done, den hyu kan lay de kobbelstones for de road surface. Den dis bridge iz fineeshed. Ontil it gets broken again. "

Nemisis is still there holding the road in place as Ranok speaks, "Okay, seal the sides so we can let go of this thing. We'll place in the cobblestones after this step."

Ranok sighs. It will look sloppy in the end, but at least it will done, "Lower!"

Nemisis had no issue with lowering the bridge piece. He slowly floated downwards and asked, "Is this good enough?"

Ranok checks. He shouts back up, "It's in! Hyu kan let go"

Nemisis slowly the demi released his grip to make sure it didn't collapse. Just to make sure, he checked over the edges again with mortar in hand just to make sure. Looking over towards the cobblestones that he had in supplies, he crossed his arms before slowly putting them in place, starting at the ends. This he did by himself one by one. However, once he got to the middle, he began to cut the stones with a sword in a specific design, the crest of Cenril to be exact. Standing up, he floated upwards to get a bird’s eye view, “Perfect, it just needs to be painted the right color.” As he floated down, the fashionista somehow seemed to have been in some type of trance.

Ranok frees a bit of scaffolding, the rest being taken apart by the undead that he managed to wrangle long enough to do so, "Yeah, hyu kan do dat on you own time, Princess. Hy tink Hy've done enough here."

Nemisis was already painting the rocks with precision before he briefly looked up and said, "Huh? What's left to do? There should be some type of railing so people don't fall off."

Ranok points to the arches. They stick a good three feet above the road surface, "Hyu might be in de dark about buildink tinks, but Hy hef it kovered. De supports are de guard rails, chust like de previous bridge hed."

Nemisis looked up and realized that there was a railing. He had quickly become engrossed in his design project the minute he started handling the the cobblestones. Laughing somewhat he said, "We guess it is all done then. It looks so much more better than the old one too."

Ranok looks at the bridge. Being built by undead, there's a stone or two in every twenty that is a little cockeyed. However, he gets the feeling that pointing this out to Nem might cause him to have another meltdown. Instead, he just grunts in agreement. At least the bridge won't be falling down under its own weight, he made sure of that.

Nemisis looked over at Ranok and said, “Well? What do you think?” This question was a test. He wanted to judge the blacksmith’s design on structure this time. In some odd shape, Spree was trying to find some respect in the man in his world.

Ranok tells it like it is, "It hain't art. Dat Hy vill say. But it schould hold. You ondead kan at least place a schtone ven und vere hyu tell dem too. Not much goot for hennyddink else." He kicks the side of the bridge with a boot. "Hy imagine it vasn' vat hyu hed imagined. Henny paint hyu schlap on dis road vill vear uff in a month. But if it makes hyu feel betta hyu kan paint de sides henny pretty kolor hyu vant."

Nemisis slowly tossed judgement about the man in his head before settles with some type of respect. Looking at the sides before saying, “Hmm…..we’ll leave them blank for now. There’s possibility for an incantation to be placed there…As for the paint, it will eventually chip off, but it can always be maintained every now and then…” Without warning, the demi reaches in his pocket and tossed a heavy sack at the blacksmith, “Here.”

Ranok lifts the bag of gold but makes no comment. He gives Nemisis a hard look. Whatever his own thoughts on Nem are hidden. But at least he isn't trying to kill him again, "Perheps de nekst time hyu're gunna vreck a bridge, hyu'll gimmee varnink, huh?"

Nemisis laughs before saying, "We'll try. We kinda lost our temper on that one. Can't recall the last time we've been that angry." Inside his head Intelligence chuckled and said, "I can. It was when that guy messed up your hair and cut your new pants thinking you were soft and weak." Spree turned around and just glared at Intelligence, "Shut it! You were no help at all!" Intelligence chuckled and said, "I know. You needed a lesson." Spree spat back, "Bastard"

Ranok gives Nemisis a side long look. The man has the crazy look in his eye. Ranok wisely decides to beat it before the insanity digs in. He walks into Cenril, waving a hand behind his back as he goes, "Try to schtay out uf trubbel long enough for me to be able to beat hyu beyond a schtundstill, Princess, yah?"

Nemisis raised a brow at Ranok before saying, "Pfft! Whatever peon, you still can't take us down!" Inside his head Brawl crack his fist and spoke, "I want a go at him." Spree simply responded, "Sure. I don't need to indulge in this ruffian sport.” Somehow amongst all this chaos, the man had gained a new rival.

The Cenril-Kelay Bridge

At the center of the bridge, atop the highest point, the view is breathtaking. From here, the devastation of the newly opened chasm is clearly visible. Deep and wide, the ground has fallen in upon itself, taking with it the once barren dead lands of Milous plains. Though dry and desolate, the plains have seen some semblance of improvement. Farther south, the earth seems more whole, as wheat fields rise up outside the swampy lands of Gualon. Eastward lies the forest of Sage, hiding in it the frontier town of Kelay. Northwest sits the city of Larket and its stern stone towers keeping silent watch. Farther along, the Xalious Mountains rise up, their craggy peaks known to shimmer in the waning daylight. The craftsmanship of the bridge is sturdy and unlikely to cave under even immense pressure. To the west lies the city by the sea, Cenril. Taking the eastern path will lead to Kelay once more.
