RP:A Dark Decision

Part of the A Test of Faith Arc

Kelay Tavern

Tiphareth makes a slow stalking entrance into the tavern, the ominous feeling of hopelessness and despair creeping in to permeate the venue just prior to his arrival. Eyes of turbulent flame are directed upon the various tavern dwellers on this crowded evening, offering a significant nod toward the Queen Thea before spotting the fallen white knight. Smirking slightly, the Lichdrow glides over toward Redovian's position, taking a seat near the man without a word.

Redovian eyes the lichdrow as he enters the tavern, and says without lowering his voice. " I have come to a decision, D'artes." The man bares a serious look upon his face.

Tiphareth 's visage grows more serious upon hearing Redovian's somber tone. "Oh, you have... and what pray tell have you settled upon for your destined path?"

Redovian does not hesitate to reply. " To no longer be bound by the will of others, and to decide for myself, how to ensure justice is enforced. And to do so, I shall devote myself to Vakmatharas, and serve him with unwavering faith, because it is what I choose to do."

Tiphareth grins heartily, an expression which oozes devious intent as the ex paladin comes full circle to the Dark God's banner. He'd pat the man on the back, were it not for his deadly touch. "I am most satisfied that you've found a path on which you may travel untethered my new friend, let me buy you a drink so that we may toast to a future of unbridled opportunities." Tiphareth calls out to Nancy, the damned woman better hop to it, considering the hefty tip he'd left just two nights prior. "Two wine glasses... clean ones this time." The barmaid responds rather expeditiously, delivering two goblets to the table just as the Lichdrow uncorks the wineskin kept within his satchel for celebratory occasions such as this. Two portions of the finest Drow wine are decanted into the vessels before he hands one over to Redovian, holding his own up in the air as he toasts "To the future", the undead then downing the spirit out of purely ritualistic observance.

Tiphareth gave 1 dark-elven wine to Redovian.

Tiphareth drank a dark-elven wine.

Redovian inclines his head as he takes the goblet of dark elven wine, his first alcoholic beverage in his entire life thus far, and says to the eldermage, and his new mentor in the ways of the Death God. " To -true- freedom." Was that a slight aginst Cyris? Why yes, yes it was. The goblet is tipped back, and a hearty swallow of the potent and aged wine is swallowed, followed swiftly by a surprised look as the bitter-sweat taste of wine saturates the death knight's tatse buds. A moment is taken, as Redo tries to hide his facial expressions from the public eye, as he says. " I will need new armor, and..." There is a package next to the man, which he eyes as he says. " A new sword."

Redovian drank a dark-elven wine.

Tiphareth looks the adept swordsman up and down, he was surely in need of more suitable attire, though his curiosity is piqued by the aforementioned package, "I trust the wine it suitable, perhaps you would like some more? And, yes we shall have to see what can be done about new battle garb, but in the meantime, what am I to make of this mysterious package which seems to have drawn your attention?"

Redovian eyes the eldermage, then the package, as he says. " It is my blade, Tenbatsu Kaji. The holiest blade in these lands, and a blade even I can no longer touch bare handed. I... I don't know what to do with it."

Tiphareth looks Redovian in the eye, flames licking at his brow from emptied sockets as he extends his arm and opens his palm. "You wish it destroyed? Or would you prefer to keep the accursed blade as an eternal reminder of the unfair judgment cast upon those who follow the false God Cyris?"

Redovian said to Tiphareth, "I am no fool, eldermage. This weapon can be used by another who becomes enslaved by the false morality of the gods of "light". I wish the blade kept in a place it will no longer be available. As you say, as a reminder."

Tiphareth nods in acknowledgment of Redovian's words, "I see, do you have such a place in mind? If not I an surely accommodate it's "storage". Either way... as you say, you are in need of new weaponry, have you found something you feel may be suitable or are resigned to the fact that any suitable weapon will likely need to be created for your, own size, strength, and style?"

Redovian eyes the katana, wrapped and bound in a fine frost worm silk and tied almost ceremoniously, with white bindings. The death knight leans over, and procures the sacred blade, and places it upon the table before the lich, saying. " Please, if you can, while I may have left the service of Cyris, this blade is special to me. It has served me well." To the other questions he says. " I was trained on various weapons in my time, but I have damn well near mastered the katana. It is my prefered style of blade, over the saber, longsword or rapier."

Redovian gave 1 Tenbatsu Kaji to Tiphareth.

Tiphareth accepts the holy sword with a nod, feeling its divine presence even without tactile contact of the blade. "I will ensure its safekeeping, well away from those who may wish to procure it. We shall have to focus now on where you may acquire a katana of the requisite proportions. Have you a preferred smith for such a blade's construction, if not I can surely have the house swordsmith craft something you'll find more than adequate. Though such custom craftsmanship will take some time, you can't rush perfection."

Redovian said to Tiphareth, "I am a patient man, perhaps in the meantime, I can be taught in the ways of the Dark One. Is there a ceremony of sorts, to validate my full fealty to him? Or a task I must undergo? He is agod, afterall, I assume something of the like is required."

Tiphareth smiles slightly, "Indeed there is, I shall assist you with the appropriate incantations and set up the ritual itself. I believe you know where it shall take place."

Redovian said to Tiphareth, "Indeed, I do. When you are prepared, I shall be there, for now, I take my leave. But.. if it is not too much, you wouldn't happen to have some more of that wine, would you?"

Tiphareth nods toward Redovian , "But of course, I have plenty... and I'm certainly in no need of it." With that, he hands the entire wineskin over to the new death knight.

Tiphareth gave 10 dark-elven wine to Redovian.

Tiphareth said to Redovian, “Until we meet again... I shall be making the appropriate preparations.”

Tiphareth exits to the South
