RP:A Boisterous Bachelorette Bash

From HollowWiki

Summary: After hearing about the engagement of Talyara and Krice, and knowing that she won’t be alive at the time of their nuptials, Lanara decides to host a bachelorette party for her sister. Meri, Penelope, Brennia, Zahrani, Leone, and Venin attend; Chef Whamsey and a duo of ‘exotic’ dancers make an appearance. Some even say that Lana hired Francis as payback on Taly over a dare from a year prior! The theme is ‘Weenies and Bellinis’ and the event contains makeovers, a game of truth or dare, lots of drinking, tons of giggles, and concludes with a classic slumber party.

Part of the Lunar Tides and Silver Linings Arc

(Post 1 of 2) The Cenril Inn has been a favored establishment of the elite citizens of the beachy area for many years, and it’s no surprise that this is the chosen location of Talyara’s bachelorette slumber party. The sole suite in the building has been specially reserved for the evening, and the sand and sea decor is inviting and creates a peaceful environment. The scent of fresh flowers greets those that pass through the doors, and the well-lit room seems to hold a pleasant aura, as though a night of love and laughter is in store for it’s guests. The spacious room has been rearranged to accommodate the needs of the night, as the king-sized bed has been moved, and in its place are several sleeping bags arranged in a circle. The far side of the room has a large table with platters of sandwiches and salads, bowls with various types of snacks, and a mini bar for those that wish to mix some alcohol or pop open a bottle of wine. A small chocolate fountain temptingly flows and a platter of fruits, marshmallows, and cake bites is to the side, along with skewers, for those that wish to dip their dessert. To the left of the room is another table, loaded with everything that is necessary for pampering, ranging from hair products and body lotions, to make-up and a ton of different colored nail polishes. The adjacent restroom is well stocked with freshly laundered towels, bars of soap, and anything the women may need to practice good hygiene. A few goody bags rest near the door, and as each party-goer enters, they are instructed to take one. Upon removing the tissue paper, each guest would see a lavender scented candle, a pouch of bath salts, a sleep mask, and a small bag of amethyst and lapis lazuli, as those crystals are known to keep nightmares at bay.

(Post 2 of 2) Lanara greets each guest at the door with a warm smile and a brief hug, before ushering them inside to enjoy the festivities. Every woman is handed a pair of pink, one-size-fits-all silken pajamas, and a pair of fuzzy pink slippers, to change into so that they can fully relax and everyone can match. The witch is already clad in her nightwear, though the short-sleeved top is very loose from her recent weight loss, and the pants are a half inch too long on her petite frame. She’s excited to host this party in honor of her soon-to-be wed little sister, and her chocolate hues sparkle as the sisters lock eyes, “At least this time around I told you about the surprise…” Being the more mischievous of the two, she felt that Taly deserved an evening of relaxation and that she should know in advance, unlike the mud wrestling cage fight she arranged a few years prior. And let’s not forget the time Lana invited her sister to a pig roast and said she had to provide the imaginary frost boar, which ended in Taly having her leg broken! The witch smirks at the memory, but she’s proud of herself for giving her sibling a heads up that it’s going to be a sleepover party with a few women, and that she’s to be fully clothed. Talyara’s silken suit is in a shade of dark purple and has silver rhinestones on the back that spell out ‘BRIDE’ and the soles of her slippers leave ‘I DO’ indentations on the carpet with each step she takes. “Those pajama’s look so cute on you, Sister! I bet you’re happy that you aren’t wearing a bikini… Although, some of the lingerie I’m giving you for your honeymoon leaves -very- little to the imagination…” Krice would appreciate the cleavage, she’s sure, even though her future brother-in-law’s stoic expression is impossible to read! Venin, the disgruntled caretaker from the animal sanctuary, stands scowling by the mini bar, wondering how long she has to wait to drink herself into oblivion without being deemed ‘rude’ by her employers. It’s obvious that she doesn’t want to be here, as she loathes most of humanity, and anyone that greets her is met with an annoyed glare. At long last, everyone has arrived and Lana beckons for them all to make themselves comfortable, while she wanders about the room and mingles amongst the crowd.

(Post 1 of 2) Talyara was hesitant upon receiving that invitation from Lanara. It wasn't that her sister didn't know how to throw a party--the wide variety of balls she had hosted throughout the realm over the years was proof enough of that--but the elder witch had a tendency to prank her so hopefully no one would blame her for being cautious. Krice had been insistent that him and Gylworliath accompany Taly to the border of Cenril and she was loath to deny him such a request as he was only concerned for her safety. After assuring him that Lanara wouldn't do anything to cause her harm (again), she hitches up her backpack on her shoulders, bids her betrothed goodbye, and weaves her way through the streets towards the Cenril Inn. When she reaches the door of the rented room she tentatively knocks, pausing a moment to peer inside once the door is opened to ensure no obvious tragedies await her. Finding none, aside from the grumpy and sour expression on Venin's face, Taly steps inside and hugs her sister closely. She gives Lanara a pointed smirk and playfully narrows her eyes. "Yeah, I appreciate the heads up this time!" She had been forced into a mud wrestling fight while wearing a revealing bikini on one occasion, and sent on a boar hunt in the wilds of Frostmaw which resulted in her severely breaking her leg on another one. She was hopeful that no one would be injured during this party. "Wow, Lana, you went all out! This place looks great! And you got so much stuff!" she compliments, her eyes wide in awe as she takes over the tables of food and beauty supplies as well as the goodie and sleeping bags. Taly is so overcome with emotion at the thoughtfulness that she pulls Lanara into another tight hug.

(Post 2 of 2) The little witch is sure to greet any other guest that might have arrived prior to her making an appearance before taking the proffered bag from Lana and slipping into the bathroom to get changed. Her fingers run along the silken purple fabric before tracing the rhinestone letters on the back. Was she really a bride? This betrothal was a bit more complicated than what others might assume as they weren't having a traditional marriage, but rather a ritual ceremony of a handfasting. And they hadn't even figured out when that was exactly going to happen. Deciding she is overthinking too much, Taly pulls the pajamas over her head and kicks off her boots in favor of donning the fluffy slippers. She was touched that her sister wanted to throw her this party, and that others wanted to attend as well. After throwing her hair up in a messy ponytail, she exits the bathroom and gives her sister a twirl. "These are so cute, thank you!" Although the mention of lingerie has the little witch's cheeks tinging pink and heating with a blush. If she was already being bashful goddess knew how she would survive the remainder of the night! "Hi Venin!" she calls cheerily over to the sanctuary caretaker, giving her a wave. Venin, didn't like Talyara per se, but she found the younger sister a bit more palatable than most people. Still, she only grunts in response, folding her arms across her chest more firmly. Shielding her face from Venin's view, Talyara leans in to whisper to Lanara. "One, why is Venin here? Who is taking care of the sanctuary? And two, -how- did you manage to convince her to come?!" Taly would be sure to greet anyone else who arrives with a big smile and big, affectionate hug (yes, even you Meri!).

When Meri receives the invitation to Talyara’s bachelorette party, it is with mixed feelings. These feelings are no fault of the witchy sisters and when Meri responds to Lanara’s invitation, she’ll make her sentiments known to Lanara: The blonde would not dream of missing what she hopes to be a once in a lifetime event for Talyara, yet Meri is still very raw over her recent divorce, and may not be up for staying -all- night. Meri would play the entire night by ear, and how long she would stay would depend on how she felt. When Meri arrives, she is in good spirits and she comes bearing the gift of some ritzy bottle of bubbly. It’s not for tonight, for Meri already knows that Lanara has taken care of every single detail for Talyara’s big night. The tag on the expensive bottle indicates that it is for Krice and Talyara’s honeymoon night. Both Lanara and Talyara get a one-armed hug in return from Meri, with Meri trading off her gift of champagne for the pink pajamas and the goodie bag. There is a slight wrinkle of her nose as Meri notes the color choice for the pajamas tonight. It’s not a detail that Meri dwells on for long, for after she is done greeting Lanara and Talyara, Meri catches sight of Venin. Memories of this woman are quick to rush back into her mind and Meri decides very quickly that she is just going to have to avoid the woman who had such a huge crush on her now ex-husband. The goal was to avoid questions about Callum tonight. Meri was about to ask Talyara and Lanara who it was that they had invited tonight, but before the blonde gets a chance to get the question out, someone else is filtering in behind her! They needed to greet them with hugs and pass out their gifts too! So Meri made her way to the mini-bar in search for a glass of whiskey, using this as her current excuse to avoid Venin….and also to avoid having to wear pink.

Brennia felt excited when she received an invitation even though she doesn't know Talyara nearly as well as Lanara, but excited nonetheless and even more so when she learned her partner was also invited. Hand in hand, she enters the room with Zahrani and briefly departs from her in order to wrap Lanara and Talyara in a warm hug that matches her warm smile that pokes dimples in her cheeks. "Oh, these are nice," the avian mentions as she's handed a pair of silk pajamas and she slips the fabric between her thumb and pointer finger. The bard spots that oh so familiar blonde and wiggles her fingers in hello to the woman before retreating into the bathroom to change. The pink color contrasts nicely against her dark hair, wings and tattooed caramel complexioned skin, but she unfortunately had to trim a slit from the collar on down for her wings to fit and then pin the hem back into place at the bottom. Luckily, nothing looks amiss as her wings cover all that up anyway. As she waits for Zahrani's turn to get dressed into the pajamas, Brennia makes her way to Meri and that smoky alto timbre kindly asks, "Hey, Meri. How have you been?" It has been some time since she has had the pleasure of enjoying Meri's company and she knows nothing of any recent ex-husbands.

Penelope had not been to a sleepover since she was a kid in school. Bea Penderghast had a birthday party, and the little Ardelian ate too much cake which led her to vomiting in one of Bea’s presents because it was the closest bag around. Shame. Either way, there would be none of that tonight! No way! Penelope -loved- sleepovers, and she was sure she was old enough not to eat too much cake! As the girl enters the party, she yells a ‘woo’ as she holds a big gift bag in the air as if she was ready to rock hard in this bachelorette party for Talyara. In the present for Talyara was a platter that had Talyara and Krices’ initials on it, for she knew Talyara liked to cook. Just a ‘T & K’ for safety since Nel really did not know if anyone was taking last names or not. Arms are thrown around Talyara with congratulations, and then Lanara before taking the silken pajamas. “Ooo, cute! Silk! And pink!” The freckled woman had no obligations for looking like a stick of bubblegum, for she was a girly girl if anyone knew her. She then goes to drop off the gift on the gift table before changing. Once changed, she strides across to the rest of the waiting crew: Meri and Brennia. “Hey! Long time, no see. Can you believe there is a chocolate fountain?” The girl looks mesmerized as she stares at the chocolate from afar.

Zahrani strides into the room hand-in-hand with Brennia, the feline taking in every detail her cyan gaze could reach. She had never actually been in this room before, in her 31 years of living in Cenril. Too rich for her. But this is a special case; she had been invited by people she loves to a special occasion. She takes a turn pulling Lana and Taly into a warm embrace after Brennia does the same, before accepting the pink pair of silk pajamas. After she changes, she steps out of the restroom. The pink is a color she’s not accustomed to wearing. The paladin had to make a slit in the back of the pant waist to accommodate her tail, but beyond that they fit her athletic physique well enough. Was she trying to show off, or was the fabric just a tad too warm for her in this room? Perhaps both. Rani rejoins Brennia, planting a kiss on her cheek before offering a warm smile to Meri and Penelope. To the freckled healer, the panther chimes in, “My friend Gamsiz would lose his mind at the food possibilities if he saw this.” Her eyes wander to the other women in the room; every face is familiar. She had missed each and every one of them, and she wouldn’t even try to conceal the grin on her face. Under her breath, just enough for Bre (and possibly Meri and Penelope) to hear, the feline says, “We are so cute, and so are all of our friends.”

Lanara snickers at Talyara’s obvious surprise at seeing that Venin had agreed to attend the party, but rather than give her sister an answer, the witch merely winks and coyly replies with, “Oh. You’ll see… She’s part of the ‘entertainment’ I have planned later on.” And so, for the next two hours, Lanara mingles with the guest, while gorging on the fine food and drink. Brennia and Zahrani are complimented on what a lovely couple they are, and she apologizes for not having their pajamas professionally altered, though both women have done a fine job to accommodate their respective wings and tail. Leone is given a warm smile, but before Lana can approach the smith and make some light conversation, she’s gently pushed to the side and Venin interrupts, “Lady Leone! I was wondering if you could make me a pair of handcuffs…” Lana blinks and awkwardly vacates her place between the smith and the sanctuary caretaker, clearly not wanting to know what the purpose of handcuffs would be. And so, the witch eventually finds herself standing between her two best friends, Meri the psion, and Penelope the healer. She relaxes and enjoys their conversation, and it’s only when she’s on her third jello shot, that Lana feels that delightful buzz and she cuts herself off from anymore liquor. The woman can count on one hand the times that she has been drunk, and the last thing she desires is a hangover, so she passes her fourth shot to Meri, “Drink up, Buttercup. You are officially single and you are not on mom-duty tonight, so live it up!” Maybe if the psion drank a bit, she’d be more inclined to spend the night, and put on those silk pajamas!? Lana giggles, likely tipsy though in denial, as she gently jabs Penny in the ribs, “You too! You need to live a little!” A jello shot is pressed into the healer’s palm, before Lana skips over to the other side of the room and excitedly claps her hands, “Who is ready for some pampering! Let’s give each other makeovers!” The witch takes a seat opposite Talyara as everyone else branches off in pairs for getting their nails, hair, and makeup done. “I promise not to crimp your ear this time, Sister!” Cackling, the witch dips a brush into some bright pink powder and aims for the elf’s high cheekbones, “You will be beautiful!”

Talyara graciously accepts Meri's gift and cannot help but giggle at her subpar reception to the pink silk pajamas--she promises this wasn't a color scheme that she asked for! Not wanting to open gifts rudely, she puts it off to the side so that way she can greet Penelope who arrives just after Meri. Taly goes through the same process with each guest--hug, thank them for the gift (if they brought one), place the parcel on a side table, repeat. She grimaces when Lana alludes to the fact that Venin is there to participate as a part of the entertainment and the witch shoots the surly woman a horrified glance. She never saw Venin crack even the slightest of smiles she could hardly figure out what she would do that would be considered entertaining. Putting that thought out of her mind, she soon meanders over by the food and drinks table where everyone is mingling, laughing, and joking and having an all around jubilant time. Talyara is starting off easy, nursing a glass of red wine as she nibbles on a sandwich. "The pink looks lovely on you!" she compliments Brennia before turning to Zahrani and inquiring about the Collective and their wellbeing. Taly had been terrible about dropping in to say hello with Cenril being so far from Frostmaw but she hopes to maybe see them before going home after the party. "I haven't been to a sleepover since I was kid," she says with a grin to Penelope and Meri. The little witch squints her eyes at Venin who is monopolizing poor Leone's time but she knows the smith is more than capable of taking care of herself. Talyara is about to snag a strawberry dipped in the chocolate fountain when she feels her arm tugged by her sister, pulling her towards the makeup and nail polish. She scowls when Lana mentions crimping her tapered ear and releases a huff. "And you styled my hair so bizarrely! You like had all my curls hanging in my face I couldn't even see where I was going!" She eyes the pink powder with trepidation. "Don't you think that's a little bright for me?" Taly didn't normally wear makeup and when she did it was very minimal and neutral in color. She hopes the other ladies are fairing well given the variety of selection Lana had provided them. Spying a bottle of crimson, opalescent nail polish near her sister's elbow, Taly snatches it up and waves it in Lanara's face. "This shade will look -perfect- on you!"

Meri accepts the shot that Lanara passes her way and is quick to down it, the reminder that she was single gave her ample reason to finish off the shot of...Meri doesn’t even know. She’s just drinking it. Both Brennia and Zahrani are going to be greeted with a smile and a wave, thanks to that liquid courage. “I know, it looks yummy,” Meri comments to Brennia, making brief chatter about the chocolate fountain. That shot Lanara gave Meri is not going to be enough for the blonde to gave on her sense of fashion and end up in pink silk pajamas. Pampering is a notion that Meri is slightly more comfortable with. Every blue moon the blonde ends up dolled up. Except, the reminder that Meri is single has the blonde thinking that maybe she should avoid it. There might be some excitement later tonight and Meri is not interested in any attention landing upon her. She would nab Penelope though, figuring that Brennia and Zahrani may enjoy spending this pampering time partnered with one another. Despite Meri’s refusal to wear pink, Penelope will find that the woman who is forcing the healer to be her partner in this is not entirely horrible at this. She is an artist. One might hope that she might be able to paint with a bit of nail polish. What sort of makeup did the healer want? Did she want Meri to paint her nails? Did she want any nail art? In a shameless bid to avoid having a stitch of makeup put on her own face, outside her usual red-lipstick look, Meri is going to take her sweet time getting Penelope all gussied up. And hopefully not in a way that Nel will hate! She wants the healer to feel pretty.

Brennia smiles warmly to Penelope and remembers the healer from a guild meeting, "pleasure meeting you again, Penelope." She shakes her head at the question, "marvelous isn't it?" Then she softly chuckles at Zahrani's mention of Gamsiz and nods in agreement, but then her love is leaning in to mention that they've got such cute friends, "the cutest in all of Lithrydel." Her gaze lingers adoringly on Zahrani as she gently caresses one of her thin braids between her finger and thumb, but then they are instructed to give each other makeovers! Bre takes her love by the hand again as she knows exactly what to do and leads them over to one of the sleeping bags for comfort after grabbing some beauty supplies. "Here, lay on top of the sleeping bag and let your head rest in my lap," the avian sits with her legs in the lotus position for a perfect little pillow. Brennia uses her middle and ring finger to gently massage a cleanser on the paladin's face in slow relaxing circles. Then she uses an exfoliant for sensitive skin and repeats the massage movements before finishing the pampering off with a refreshing toner and gently blotting her love's face dry. Zahrani's skin will feel super smooth and appear more luminous, but best of all, Zahrani should feel relaxed. "As far as makeup?" Brennia knows the paladin very well and she settles on simple mascara and a light gloss for a natural look, "perfect. Now for your nails," she takes her time gently cleansing the nail beds and pushing the cuticles back and applying hand lotions along with cuticle oils. Again, Zahrani's skin on her hand will feel silky smooth and she should feel relaxed even more than usual.

Penelope envelopes in the chatter and snortful giggles. “It’s good to see you too, Brennia!” She chimes before being nudged in the ribs by Lanara. She stares at the jello shot before blinking. The girl was more of a glass of wine person. A shot? Well, time to trial this one. Eyes watch how Meri throws back the shot before the healer does the same before making a scrunched face. Although the jello masks the alcohol, the girl can sense these are strong--for a purpose. Whatever, next phase! And the healer is giddy that the tattoo artist is her partner! Penelope would need some pampering. Especially after the letter she had sent to her… now ex-boyfriend. Yeah, the healer was hiding that pretty well since she let Lionel go gently. Perhaps the two single ladies could use each other right about now, anyway. The healer is pretty happy that Meri is the one who wants to pamper her, even if Nel is pulling at Meri to gussy up too. The Ardelian is keen on having Meri paint the girl some sunshine yellow nails while leaving her ring fingers white. She tells Meri to paint some cute flowers on the white ring fingers. The girl could use some happy colors and designs. As for make-up, the healer does not wear much on a normal basis. “How about a more natural look? Maybe some soft pinks and highlighter? Then maybe I can do your nails or maybe even braid your hair?” the girl would smooze to get Meri to budge a little. Braids and nails never hurt anybody, and if Meri agrees Penelope will do just that, if not, well, at least Nel tried.

(Post 1 of 2) Lanara scowls as her sister selects ‘Slaughterhouse’ as the perfect shade for her lush lips, but she allows Taly to decorate her face as she chooses, as this party is being held in her honor. “Don’t make my skin too pale with all that powder, because with such fiery red lips, I don’t want to resemble some hoochie vampire!” She warns her sister, as she continues to apply several layers of makeup on her face, adding so much glitter to Taly’s eyelids that it’s a miracle the woman can blink! “Now for some highlighter…” Leaning in, she snickers at the effect that has now given Taly a ‘bruised’ cheek, but thankfully makeup can wash off rather easily! It’s not Lana’s fault that she is only able to do her own hair and makeup to perfection, as not every shade matches well with another’s skin tone! Everyone is either getting their nails and makeup done, or beautifying someone, and the room is filled with chatter and giggles, a true ‘girly’ sleepover party! Those that agreed to be gussied up look lovely, whereas Taly resembles a clown that had worked overtime and is ready to strangle the next child that asks for a balloon animal! “Ooh! Let’s do more shots!” Lanara finishes Taly’s manicure, which doesn’t look half bad, and quickly proceeds to the mini bar where she makes another tray, brimming with alcohol. The drinks and snacks continue to be absorbed, and those that have felt shy will discover they feel much more at ease. Except for Venin, who is still discussing the use of metal restraints with Leone, who has been attention hogged from the very start. Venin mumbles something about ‘inner beauty’ and Lana has to try her best not to roll her eyes, because Venin lacks any warmth whatsoever and has the personality of a rock! Still, the witch behaves, especially because a glowing ball flits into the room from seemingly out of nowhere and hovers above her head.

(Post 2 of 2) Lana narrows her gaze on the object, “I didn’t even activate it, yet!” Thinking it has a mind of its own, she swallows, as she hadn’t planned on participating in this game. “So! I bought this over at Mystics in Rynvale, and it’s a ‘Truth AND Dare’ device that issues its own picks for each person! I figured it could be fun. Plus, I’m sure if we all keep drinking we won’t even remember this night, so don’t worry about being embarrassed! It glows red if the person is lying or refuses a dare, and it will issue a new truth and dare instead.” The glow of the ball changes from yellow to blue as a mechanical voice fills the room, “Truth! Out of the people in this room you must pick THREE! One that you would marry, one that you would desire a single night of carnal delight, and one that you would murder.” It returns to gold as it waits for an answer, and Lana laughs nervously, “Okay. Fine.” Casting a look about the room she studies each woman closely, because she didn’t want the creepy controller to ask her a hardball question, as she’s full of secrets. “I would wed... Meri. She is honest, loyal, already has an adorable little girl, and she loves to go on crazy adventures.” She pauses, as she seems focused on Brennia and Penelope, both women that she finds beautiful, before she points to the avian, “I would bed… Brennia. She has that hypnotic voice, she’s hands down the prettiest woman I’ve met since being in the lands, and I’m sure we could reach new ‘heights’ with those wings!” The last person is so obvious that the witch doesn't’ bother to even look her way, “The one that would be dead is Venin.” Not wanting to further elaborate there is a brief pause, as the orb seems to vibrate in glee, as Lanara had answered truthfully. “Dare! Fill your mouth with marshmallows, do a headstand, and sing ‘Mary Had A Little Lamb’ at the top of your lungs.” Sighing, the woman obeys the demand of the toy, as she mumbles about how she wanted to make s’mores but instead is shoveling plain marshmallows into her mouth. The headstand is easy enough, but she rests her spine in line with the wall so that if she feels weak, she won’t fall and break her neck. Lana belts out the tune to the halfway point and spits out a soggy marshmallow, which is followed by a contagious fit of chuckles, before she begins to choke and has to take a break. The orb remains in place for a moment, preparing to issue an even worse dare, but the witch quickly shoves a fresh marshmallow into her mouth, resumes the position, and sings with all her heart and soul. Upon completion, her cheeks are burning red from embarrassment and the rush of blood flow, and she’s forced to swallow the soggy white squares. “Gross!” The glowing ball is sated by Lanara’s session and flits around the room, before resting before the face of Talyara.

(Post 1 of 3) Talyara smirks when Lanara reads the name off of the lipstick that she had chosen for her--Slaughterhouse, how appropriate! She does her best to do Lanara's makeup to her liking, she's not someone who wears a lot of it herself and when she does, she goes with a more neutral look. But Talyara's not half bad at makeup application and gives her sister a simple eye look with a bit of flare thanks to winged eyeliner and leans back to admire her handiwork. "Not half bad!" she compliments herself before wearily looking over at the colors Lanara has chosen for her, colors that were vibrant and not what Taly would ever wear herself. "Try not to be so heavy handed..." she suggests to her older sister, but she can feel layer upon layer of makeup being applied to her face. When her sister is done, Taly chances a look in a mirror and nearly screams in fright (she had always been afraid of clowns!). "Did you use face paint?!" she asks her sister in a tone that's an octave above her normal voice. Taly excuses herself to use the bathroom where she promptly washes away some of Lana's rouge and yelps in pain when glitter inadvertently gets stuck in her eye. After a few minutes, the little witch returns with a bloodshot eye but considerably less makeup to have her manicure done. She smiles as she watches Meri and Nel take turns applying makeup to one another while Brennia focuses mostly on Zahrani's skincare and relaxation. She couldn't have asked for a better group of people to celebrate with! Emerald hued eyes shift towards Leone and she mouths an apology as Venin seems hellbent on not letting the smith escape her discussion. Soon makeovers are done and the women are supplied with more alcohol which is a good idea given the next activity Lana has planned. When her sister introduces the mystical sphere as their guide to a game of truth and dare, Taly wrinkles her nose a little. She watches as Lana takes her turn, not at all surprised that she selects Meri to marry and Brennia to bed, breaking out in a fit of giggles when the witch easily declares Venin to be the one she would kill. The caretaker shoots Taly a look and she quickly smacks her hand over her mouth to stifle the sound. The dare is pretty absurd, but she cannot deny it's amusing to see her sister balancing on her head, cheeks puffed out with marshmallows, and belting a nursery rhyme!

(Post 2 of 3) When it's her turn, Talyara tentatively accepts the glowing ball between her hands and chews the inside of her cheek nervously. She was never a fan of this game when Lana used to make her play it when they were younger. Suddenly, the orb shifts to a yellow hue and that familiar mechanical voice fills the room. "Truth! What is the worst thing anyone has ever done to you?" The little witch freezes because how could she answer that?? Should she tell them about how she was held captive by the drow and tortured in the square? About the time she was possessed? About the time she was in an abusive relationship? "Umm, errr..." It wasn't that she didn't trust this group of people (she did), but it seemed like such a downer of a question and she didn't want to pop the proverbial bubble of celebration that had descended upon them. Apparently, the magical ball assumes her hemming and hawing are a result of not wanting to answer and a loud gong like sound reverberates around the room and the thing turns red before Taly yelps in pain! "It zapped me!" she rounds on Lana, narrowing her gaze as if the woman purposefully forgot to mention that part. Or maybe the elder witch didn't know that was part of the deal. Either way, the thing turns yellow once more and issues a new question. "Truth! If you could swap lives with someone in this room, who would it be?" Taly casts her gaze to each person here before landing upon her sister. "Lana," she says and gives her sister a sad sort of smile, her gaze significant. The elder sibling would know the real truth of why Taly chose that particular answer--Lanara was dying and Taly would switch places with her in a heartbeat so that she may continue to live the life that she deserved. But again, that's not something to discuss because this is supposed to be a joyous event, so when she turns back to the others, she turns up the wattage on her smile. "I mean, no one can say her life is boring, right? She's bold and fearless and never doubts her strength and abilities. And I've always looked up to her." The mystical sphere seems satisfied with Talyara's answer this time and proceeds to issue her dare. "Dare! Go to a neighbor's house in a wet shirt and ask to borrow something!" Talyara audibly groans at this, already feeling her cheeks heat with a blush. "Fine, fine," she grumbles in acquiesce.

(Post 3 of 3) The little witch stands, rooting around in her overnight bag before coming up with a dark green tank top. Deciding a darker color is the best choice, she pads into the bathroom to soak the garment before shucking off her pajamas and pulling the thing over her head. It clings to her body like a second skin, showcasing her renowned bosom, and she makes her way out to the room at large. "I'm going down a floor," she informs the woman with a grimace before throwing the door of the suite open and taking the stairs quickly before she loses her nerve. She assumes at least some of the group if not all have trailed after her to ensure she follows through with the dare. Taly is hoping that there is a kind woman on the other side of the door, but when she knocks, it's a middle aged man with a deeply receding hairline. "It's about time my room ser--" he starts to say gruffly before spying the little witch at his door. She smiles up at him but internally cringes as his eyes immediately drop to her chest. "I seem to be out of towels and instead of walking all the way down to the lobby I was hoping you had an extra one I could borrow?" Talyara asks hopefully. "You could come in and get one?" he suggests with a smirk, eyes never returning to the witch's face. Taly has to bite her tongue to prevent herself from gagging. "You're so sweet to offer, but no thank you! If you could just hand me one, I would very much appreciate it!" The man lingers at the door for a minute before disappearing back inside before leaning closer to her and handing the witch a towel (which she immediately wraps around her body). "You know maybe we could get a drink lat--" he starts to suggest. "Have to go, thanks again!" Talyara yells over her shoulder as she beelines for the stairs, taking them two at a time before making it back to the safety of their suite and changing back into her pajamas. Her cheeks are bright red at this point but the sphere seems satisfied with Talyara's performance and moves on to Meri.

Meri was never the most girlish of girls, as everyone in this room is probably more than familiar with. But, the woman would at least cave and let Penelope braid her hair. It’s not like Meri’s didn’t do her own hair in braids from time to time, typically messy braids whose main function is to keep her hair out of her face during a fight. She could handle braids. Plus she was at least trying to participate, sort of, right? However the blonde is really pushed out of her comfort zone when the festivities shift to a game of truth or dare. Oh my. The sphere moves from Lanara, to Taly, and then after both witches have completed their truth and their dare, it comes to float in front of Meri. The blonde makes a cross-eyed expression for the first couple of seconds that the mechanical voice can be heard in the room. “Truth! What is the most…” The expression eases up as she hears the question she is supposed to answer. “Embarrassing place you have urinated.” This is a question that Meri can answer and she feels no shame in doing so, unlike most. Look, she’s been drunk more than a few times. “Oh, that is easy. Probably right in the middle of the street outside of the Whaler. It seemed like a good idea at the time.” Her answer is punctuated with a shrug and the orb seems to accept what the woman says as truth for it doesn’t zap Meri or make any loud gong noises. Instead it just issues her dare. “Dare!” Truth was the hard part as far as Meri was concerned, so there was no making of faces this time. “Go join someone at their dinner table.” This causes Meri to lift a brow as she considers how she will handle this potentially awkward situation, but at least she didn’t have to dump water on herself. Just. Make a conversation with a total stranger. No problem. “Excuse me for just a bit,” Meri says to the room before making her way out into the main area of the Inn. The upside to this dare, she would not have to look hard to find a dinner table to try and join for the Inn also had a little restaurant attached to it for the convenience of it’s guests. It was a good thing that Meri had not actually changed into those pink pajamas though, she thought to herself as she moved away from the space Lanara rented and toward the restaurant area. Once there, her gaze sweeps across the room in search for a target that won't cause too much of a scene, or so she hoped. Her blue eyes eventually come to rest upon an older, almost elderly couple. What happens will be a mystery for everyone in the room but it all begins with the blonde stepping forward toward their table, placing a hand upon an empty chair, and starting the conversation with, “Excuse me but, I am not familiar with the area.” All that Meri needed to do was plant her tush into a chair, she could probably make a quick exit of this if she wanted to. But she doesn’t. She lingers, she tries to converse, heck, she’d even order a drink or two if the couple would let her. The point is, Meri is stalling in making a return. That would not delay the fun at the party though. If that dang truth or dare sphere could actually tell if Meri was being honest or not? It could certainly tell if Meri completed her dare despite her lack of return. The sphere floats on to the next person, Brennia is up.

Penelope did not get to spend a lot of time with friends. If anything, Penelope was a loner and very surface level, but one thing she did spend time doing is braiding hair on the children or women who came in. A comfort for the patient if they wanted such a thing for Penelope to do, so yes, Penelope was an excellent braider. The girl fiddles fingers and hair around until Meri’s hair is in two loose dutch braids that fall long on the back and thick in volume. The healer had some tricks to make those braids look voluminous. The Ardelian was a girly girl even if she had been a workaholic. As the sphere moves around, the healer spends her time snorting with laughter before the sphere somehow ends up in her hands. Truth is what rings through the air, and so it goes, “What’s a secret talent you have?” There is another loud snort that comes from her face. “Well, everyone knows I love books, but…” she shrugs, “I can repeat words backwards instantly if thrown at me in common. It’s like another language.” The woman looks at each individual and pronounces their names backwards easily. “Ainnerb, Irem, Aranal, Araylat, Inarhaz,” each name around the circle throws briefly and smoothly. Then, the dare comes. “Dare… Put on as much layers as you can in sixty seconds,” she points a finger at all of the girls in a circle. “Bet! Count!” Once the counting begins, the healer would move around. The people at the inn might not enjoy it, but the healer pulls down a curtain to wrap herself in. She grabs an empty plate and puts it on her head. The woman frantically grabs napkins to stuff them down her… shirt. Cups for hands (not to mention she fumbled with cup number 2). It’s really a muck of a mess, but that is okay because time was up and she tried. Slowly, she balances back to the circle before picking up the sphere with cups around her hands. “Well, one plate, four napkins, a curtain, and two cups. I did pretty darn good I think.” Gently, she passes the sphere to Zahrani.

(Post 1 of 2) Lanara laughs so hysterically at her sister’s wet tee-shirt ‘contest’ with the man down the hall, that she begins to snort, which furthers the fit of giggles. The redder that Taly’s face grows, the louder the laughter in the room! Her truth, however, has the animal empath growing somber, and she’s grateful that Meri’s dare has the grin returning to her face! “One time I had to poop in a bucket!” It’s not even Lana’s truth, yet she’s chiming in about embarrassing moments! And then Penelope shows off her skills about being able to say all of their names backwards, and Lana is applauding and whistling. As Brennia, Zahrani, and Leone, are next to follow, the woman pays close attention to their truthfulness as well as their nervousness from a dare, but her dark gaze keeps drifting towards the door. Is she expecting someone else to make an appearance at the party? Venin’s truth is something sexual, but Lana ignores the woman for the most part, that is, until the ‘dare’ is for the dark skinned half elf to go streaking! And then the party is in humorous pursuit as the stripped down woman runs three laps around the exterior of the Inn, drawing cheers, jeers, and a few catcalls from those that wander through the bustling town. Venin returns, breathless, and heads straight for the bathroom where she puts her pajamas back on before rejoining the party. More bingeing on junk food, countless shots, and tons of laughter continue, as Taly opens her gifts that the others had brought. Lana’s gift is lingerie, though it’s not as tacky as one would think, just enough to get Krice’s gears churning yet still protect Talyara’s modesty. She also gives her sister a platinum picture frame, should she wish to commission an artist to paint a picture of the newlyweds. Naturally, there are a few gag gifts such as a silk scarf, a love voucher book with risque suggestions that the couple can give each other, a pair of red furry handcuffs, and a pregnancy predictor calendar! The witch looks delighted as the blushing bride opens each item and is forced to show it to the others, but her excitement bubbles over upon hearing a knock at the door. “The entertainment has arrived!” Lana deliberately leaves Taly standing by her lonesome self in the center of the room, as she goes to stand by the other women and yells, “Come on in!” To Penelope and Meri, she mutters, “You both are single… Let me know if you want any ‘help’ or need some coin.” Her words are followed by a wink, before she gently nudges Brennia and Zahrani, “You two lovebirds can feel free to cover your eyes at any point… Or maybe learn a few moves!” She falls silent then, as she doesn’t wish to converse with Venin unless absolutely necessary, and because she’s not sure if Leone is single or attached.

(Post 2 of 2) Upon hearing that he can enter the room, in walks Chef Gordyn Whamsey, pushing a massive cart that barely clears the door. The male is dressed in his usual cooking attire, and as usual he is wearing a scowl and muttering obscenities beneath his breath. However, there is something very apparent about the blonde that will have the women that know him well pausing… He has broken out in a sweat, his pale cheeks are burning crimson with shame, and he nearly trembles as he pulls the white cloth from the cart to reveal what lies beneath. The male shifts his cerulean gaze to glare at Lana, though his expression softens somewhat as he notices the healer at her side. “This fracking disaster was -NOT- my idea and I take no credit for this work! It was entirely Lanara’s idea. I’m leaving, I have done my part, and I’m bloody disgusted!” After his tirade, the women will take in the full sight of the ‘disastrous’ dessert that had sent Gordyn over the edge, and it’s obvious why he appeared to be mortified. A large cake of a male’s genitalia is on display, decorated with whipped cream and shaved coconut in various areas, as no bachelorette party is complete without a flirty favor! It’s not -just- a cake though! From beneath the tray climbs out two men, one that is rather good looking, his chiseled form dripping in baby oil, as he bumps and grinds around the room, tossing a few scandalous one liners at each of the women. He goes by the title of ‘The Love Machine’ or just simply, Dante. The second male is a dwarf, not nearly as handsome or well toned as his partner, and he appears to be drooling and has taped a cup to his belly button for any ‘tips’ he may earn from dancing! It’s Francis, a man that Taly had arranged a blind date with for Lanara a year prior, and perhaps this is the elder siblings shot at vengeance?! Both men are wearing black bikini bottoms and after some flirting with each of the partygoers, they do what they had been hired to do, which is to entertain (Erm, embarrass?!) the lady of the hour! Taly is gently lowered onto a chair as the two men take turns dancing on and around the seat that the witch occupies. At one point, Francis asks Taly if she would like to take body shots off of his frame, while Dante drapes a feathery boa around her shoulders. The ‘show’ goes on for about thirty minutes, before the men have a sliver of cake and exit the room, likely heading to another party.

(Post 1 of 2) Talyara, more or less, is more comfortable sans makeup and in simple attire (like leggings and a sweater) so she couldn't begrudge Meri for only participating in the more tame makeup festivities, but she is definitely going to ask Penelope about her braiding technique! The little witch's cheeks are still heated pink after her own truth and dare and she is eager for the focus to move onto someone else. Meri's question comes and are easily answered, Taly unable to hide her giggle. "Do you remember -why- you thought it was a good idea at the time?" she enquires curiously. Lanara's bold and shameless proclamation is met with a shake of her head. It wasn't even her turn! The dare that comes for Meri is the perfect amount of awkward and harmless but she is definitely going to at least follow the psion towards the restaurant and watch from a distance until she takes a seat at the table and engages the elderly couple in conversation. It's not that she didn't -trust- Meri, she just wanted to see how the woman navigated the dare! Back in the room Talyara watches as they others take their respective turns. Penelope's truth is intriguing and she's thinking that if you finagle the pronunciations a bit a whole other secret language could come of it! When they were really young, Lanara and Talyara had a secret language that only they understood. At the very least this talent could be used to share sensitive information only meant for specific ears! Talyara laughs as her fellow healer not only accepts her dare but enthusiastically participates in it as she darts around the room and creatively layers her body in curtains, napkins, and cups. The witch applauds Nel for her efforts before the rest of the women take their turns with the magical orb.

(Post 2 of 2) When truth or dare is over, Talyara finally eats something a bit more substantial and opens her gifts and thanks everyone in turn--she admires the label on the bottle Meri brought her and chatters excitedly about all the food she will make and display on Penelope's platter bearing her and Krice's names. Her sister's lingerie gift is eyed suspiciously, but finding it tasteful the witch thanks Lanara and admires the beautiful picture frame. Meri was the only artist she knew well so maybe she would be willing to take the commission? The other more gag-type gifts have Taly's cheeks turning bright pink again and she quickly moves to tuck them into a bag where they will remain out of sight before she can endure any more teasing. The knock at the door draws her emerald gaze on her sister and she narrows her eyes. "What type of entertainment?" Taly isn't placated by the instruction to remain by herself in the room. When the famous chef enters the room and disgustingly scolds Lana, Talyara peers at the phallic pastry and smacks a hand over her face. She would have been content with a quiet evening with massages and wine and cheese plates! She was a simple, reserved girl! As if the cake wasn't bad enough the men who burst from beneath have Talyara now turning a violent shade of beet red from her cheeks up her tapered ears and even down her neck. Dante seems to be a regular in this industry but when Francis the dwarf appears, Taly shoots her sister another glare. This was payback for the Yule party! The little witch does her best to make herself as invisible as possible, even gesturing to Meri (who was closest to her) and trying to pawn her off as the bachelorette (sorry Meri!), but there's no use. Talyara hides behind her hands as the men sit her in a chair and continue to dance around her, trying to coax her out with a feathered boa and an offer to do body shots (which she quickly declines). When the dancers finally seem to be done, Taly beelines for the beverage table and grabs some wine, drinking it straight from the bottle.

Meri takes her sweet time in returning. Her plan was to linger in the dining area with this couple as long as they would let her. And honestly? She would have been gone a considerable amount of time. Long enough that she misses the rest of the truth or dare game. Had she known there would be entertainment tonight….. Everyone’s hopes for Meri’s performance tonight is far too high than what the artist is actually capable of delivering. The second time that Lanara reminds her that she is single is met with an outright scrunch of her nose. There is no grinning during any of this, not even when Talyara attempts to pawn her off as the bachelorette. No, no Meri most certainly is not going to take that title. It’s a good thing that they do not believe Talyara, and in fact? Meri’s going to outright insist that the bachelorette is in fact Talyara. Does Meri love drinking? Yes. Yes she does. But at this exact moment, body shots with these male dancers were enough to change her mood on that topic. There might have been a time where Meri would have been considerably more eager to flirt and have fun, but she is not ready to go back to that space again. She’ll move on when she’s good and ready. And so to avoid all the fun she holds up her cigarettes and ducks out the room. As she is not entirely sure how long the entertainment will remain? The blonde wanders. She soon finds that she’s wandered all the way back to her own home and relieved the babysitter of her duties. Yes, it will just be her and a sleeping child for the remainder of the night. She’ll be joining Fleur in the act of sleeping quite shortly.

Penelope is snorting with all the truths and dares bouncing about the room. The healer is surely rosy in her freckled cheeks, and her face aches from too much belly giggles. Though, the tide turns when Talyara begins to open her presents. Thanks are given, and Penelope claps with all the gifts and gives off the ‘oo la la’ to Lanara’s lingerie gift to her sister. “Krice will love it!” She chimes, but truly, Penelope never saw a lick of emotion from the man with the katana. She could only guess Krice would like it. Like, he was marrying Talyara, so one would think. Right?! Either way, her thoughts of the grumbly man exit her mind when the entertainment is provided. Moss eyes shift towards Lanara, “Stop,” an instant embarrassment because the word ‘coin’ is mentioned, and the healer could only guess what was happening next. Gordyn Whamsey wheels in a mysterious cart. Was the treat Gordyn Whamsey himself to make them all a fabulous desert? Once the cake is revealed--Whamsey might be disturbed, and Penelope tries to keep a cool face at first as he looks at her with a softer look, but eventually, Penelope busts up laughing hysterically right in the man’s face. The opposite of Chef Whamsey’s reaction. Was Penelope like a child to these types of things? Yes, but also the woman was feeling quite the buzz right now. As the dancers, however, bust out, Penelope does her best to point out Talyara, and becomes a typical ‘woo’ girl. Penelope liked to party, okay? As a healer, the woman was rarely ever to let loose, and so she would. In the background, the woman would dance to hype the paid dancers up, so they can embarrass Talyara. “Woo, go Taly!” In the meantime, the girl is reaching for another jello shot, and offering one to Lanara as they watch the embarrassment transpire.

Lanara cannot recall the last time she had laughed this hard, and tears stream from her eyes as she points and giggles uproariously at the male dancers taunting her shy sister. It’s a memory she won’t soon forget, but as Meri moves to leave, the witch diverts her attention from the show and cuts a piece of cake for the psion to take home for herself and Fleur. She hadn’t meant to offend the newly single woman, and she hopes some sugar will work as a peace offering. Penelope is hyping up the crowd, the others are jeering and cheering, and Talyara is so red in the face that she resembles a lobster! After the men take their leave, along with a few coins that they earned from their performance, the party returns to chatting and enjoying the food and drinks that are offered. Lana eats a large section of the phallic shaped cake, murmuring about how delicious it is, and so she cuts a slice for all of her friends. Venin’s piece is significantly smaller than the others, but she’s so salty about every little thing that the witch pretends not to hear her complaints. It’s a peach cake with bellini cream in the center and sweet frosting, causing Lana to scream as she just now catches the joke, “Weenies and Bellini’s!” Eventually, everyone grows weary and those that wish to sleep can curl up in a sleeping bag and nod off. Lanara pulls her bag far from where Venin is sleeping, because she’s overheard muttering that the woman has ‘stinky breath and foul smelling feet’ so she lies down between Penelope and Zahrani. “I love all of you, Ladies! Goodnight!” Before long, she is heard softly snoring, and there is a faint smile on her lips as this was the most fun she has had since returning to the lands.

Talyara :: Once upon a time when Lanara and Talyara were in their teens, it was the younger witch who was the more extroverted and rambunctious one. She was the one who would leave the house for hours, much to their mother's dismay, and shirk her chores. But as she grew and matured, she became more shy and reserved, finding solace in the domesticities of the home while Lanara took on the role of troublemaker. That meant that this shy and reserved Talyara was mortified by the male dancers despite the other ladies' encouragements. Not only does Meri dodge her attempts at claiming she is the bachelorette, but it seems she's had her fill of merriment and takes her leave. Taly is left to endure the dancing, understanding now that this is payback for her inviting Francis to be Lana's blind date at the Yule party. By the time the men finally leave, the little witch is concerned that her face is doomed to remain red for the remainder of her life. She hoped it would be cleared up by the time of her handfasting at least! Talyara accepts the piece of cake from her sister and tentatively takes a bite just in case this is some additional prank but it's really quite tasty! The fresh peaches mixed with the bellini filling and sweet frosting make for an exquisite pairing! The witch had just taken another rather large bite of cake when Lana exclaims the reasons for the cake flavoring and she spits out the half masticated confection as she bursts out laughing. Unfortunately, Venin was standing right in front of Talyara and got a face full of cake and spit! Talyara bumps a napkin to the caretaker's face while apologizing profusely but inadvertently pokes the woman in the eye. She cries out in pain and Taly quickly crosses the room to engage Brennia in conversation hoping to avoid an altercation with the cantankerous woman. The night begins to wind down and eventually her eyes grow heavy and she yawns widely. She heads over to the sleeping bags and snags the one beside Leone before hunkering down. "Thank you for throwing me this party, Lana," she calls over to her sister. "And thank you all for coming. I love you all. Sweet dreams!" Talyara is fast asleep before her head even hits the pillow.

Penelope throws her last jello shot before dancing to make sure Talyara is the center of attention. Is Nel a smooth dancer? Absolutely not, but she enjoyed herself anyway because for kicks she was hyping up the dwarf especially for Taly. Once a slice of cake is given, she helps herself, and well, although the shape of the cake makes her snort every time she takes a bite, she approves of the quality. The Ardelian was childish, okay? Chef Whamsey out-did himself with the baking. Surprisingly with such a request. As she finishes her cake, a wave of tiredness hits her. Thank gosh she did not have another piece because the last thing she wanted to do was blow chunks at Talyara’s bachelorette party. The freckled woman was content, and definitely needed a night with the girls. After plopping down in her sleeping bag, she snuggles herself deep in the bag before worming herself over to Lanara to spread a few giggles and secrets before the witch passes out. Penelope is not far away from the witch with dreamland, and before she sleeps, “Talyara, you and Krice are going to be so happy. I hope you had a special night,” escapes her sleepy mouth before a hand reaches out to Lanara’s to hold in snoring comfort. Best slumber party ever.
